We did not ban foreign music and Nigerian music is growing. Just saying |
Every country has the government it deserves. - Joseph de Maistre |
lonelydora:Not for Medicine, though. In the US, you have to have degree first, before you can study Medicine - that way you would be in your 20s. There is a reason for this; maturity counts when it comes to come courses, especially. |
not buying handout |
Gbam uzobaby: |
Coming to America |
MeandSum: |
blackprowler:I see where u are coming from, but I beg to differ. It did not take generations for everybody to start wearing seat belts. Psychologists say it takes 21days to imbibe a habit |
Nnamdig2: Very very Pathetic in kosofe, lagos. The only thing dey do best 'is to cut ligth wires'Tell me about it: Ifako-Gbagada! whew! |
esbjay@gmail.co:palm oil is laced with so much cholesterol, saturated fat; iit clogs the arteries if consumed too much. It however, has Vitamin A, which is good for the eyes |
Power is almost non-existent in Ifako-Gbagada, Lagos - has been so for a while |
No, reconstruction was done shortly after the mastectomy, so she's got new set of boobies Afam4eva: Does this imply that she no longer has a bosom? |
solomon111: I think i agree with all4naija.Her publishers wouldn't let her use this title if they felt it wouldn't sell. She has successfully established herself as a brand, so this is bound to be a hit like her previous works |
all4naija: Huh. There is nothing wrong but it just make your work looks something from a novice. Iraqana sounds like a child learning to pronounce or speak. I would rather find interest in a title with persuasive intent challenging a buyer curiosity before even reading it. Indeed, I can see where she is coming from. She is trying so hard to be accepted by the American audiences and society. Lol... AMERICANAH! Even Americans would find that embarrassing. It is neither a German nor Spanish word; it is a colloquial way Nigerians address our people living in America. Watch! This book might make that reference more mainstream |
all4naija: No! It doesn't mean I have to read the novel somehow before finding interest. Good and great titles add a lot to the writer's work and can coerce people to buy them. It is like the advert of a product. Jeez! I don't find that title interesting and encouraging from somebody of her standard.Your opinion doesn't count, sweetie |
Chrisbenogor: This is total bullshit Journalism!!Don't be selfish. Maybe ur area has light, but do not speak for the majority of Nigerians who do not have light to carry out business activities, or light in their home. The status quo is not good enough, and shouldn't be acceptable. Nigerians deserve better |
Jazzgreen: are u sure ur livin in abia or AIBA?. Precisely ABA,cos drs no light even as im talkin to you right nowDon't mind him, he's just being sarcastic |
joanana: Master of the Game - Sidney SheldonSeconded. The book is a masterpiece |
afam4eva: I want to throw my hat into the ring and contest for an elective position. I think i can make a change by starting off by contesting for the chairmanship position in my local government, Enugu South LGA. It's not like i'm ready at the moment but i want to plan for the future. I chose to contest to become the LG chairman position because it's the closest government to the people. I want to make my LGA the pride of NIgeria and Africa. Infact, i don't mind being the LGA chairman for the next 50 years if the constitution permits as long as i can make my own little contribution in my local government.Philanthropy is the gateway to power. Make yourself meaningful to your community in whatever way you can -- that would give you grass root support when you are ready |
It is a new phenomenon for many girls of this generation to conceive the idea of contributing financially to the household, esp as many of them saw their fathers take care of the bills almost entirely. These days, women earn comparable income to men, sometimes more. We r at the crossroads of this social change, and what both men and women should come to terms with, is understanding the reality of our times. On the other hand, men should understand that u shouldn't rule with the same iron fist u perhaps saw ur father rule with when they were footing d entire bill. It's do-able; a balance can be struck somewhere For sake of fairness |
shymexx: I know why you feel that way...In spite of his achievements in Massachussetts, he's still behind there. I agree he'll prolly win most of the swing states, but the big deal is Ohio on the path to 270 going by the electoral college map |
dayokanu: The moderator helped Obama a bit.I agree with u up to the point that he dint use "act of terror" to describe the Benghazi incident d next day. He could have shone more light on d fact he went fundraising the very next day when details wre still a bit hazy |
shymexx: I'm neither a yank nor a prophet but I think Obama is a one-term president...Usually respect ur perspectives, not sure of this one. We'll see |
afam4eva: Someone just takes a picture of a particular place in Aba and uploads it as a true representation of Aba. Yes, we know Aba is bad but not this bad and not everywhere. When i went to Aba 3 years ago, i was trying very hard to find the dirty Aba i kept hearing and seeing all over the internet but i couldn't find any. Even Ogbor hill that seems like a middle to lower-class neigbourhood is not that bad.I was there last week; it is decayed. Terrible! Pools of water everywhere, potholes...some roads are practically closed, for instance, Eziukuwu end of Milverton Ave, where most transport coys have terminals |
shymexx: Maybe, the federal government needs to build new cities in all the geopolitical zones and entice people there... There are wasteland scattered around Nigeria and the government can help by transforming those areas into new cities...I agree with you that the fed govt should play a role in decongesting Lagos and growing other cities. Through Regulation, the govt can choose the most expedient places to site organisations devoid of politics. Call Centres for instance should rather be in more low-cost cities and towns other than Lagos. That way, their not-so-huge pay would go much farther. Govt def has a role in tackling this problem |
A great man always fighting for equity |
shadrach77: can someone explain this to me - bolt's record of 9:58 was set at the last olympics so how can they call his 9:62 as the new olympic record - if it's the new olympic record, then what was the former olympic record? He set the WR @ the World Championships in Berlin in 2009. Before now, the Olympic Record was 9.69, which he has now lowered to 9.63 |
deife: Peeps, please what time is the opening ceremony?9pm Nigerian time |
Lollyij: What of postrate cancer, someone shld enlighten me on itProstate cancer is the enlargement of the prostate - a walnut-size organ in every male. Men of black origin are of higher risk and should start prostate exams from about age 40. Symptoms usually don't present early, and when u start feeling symptomatic, chances are that it might have spread. If sm1 has had it in ur lineage, u should be more proactive. Symptoms include: painful urination, delay in passing urine, frequent urination... H/ever, having these doesn't necessarily mean u have prostate cancer |
Happy Birthday to a great man! |
dayokanu: he wants his child simple, he doesnt care what you have spent and he didnt beg you to spend it. you spent it cos you wanted to. |
