Ekiti is at it again. What started as a clash between the market women and road side hawkers yesterday 19th May is metamorphosing into something bloody. The market women yesterday attacked the road side hawkers and the resulting clash left a lot of people wounded with looting of shops and "road side stands".

In another development a wife of one of the NURTW members was duped of 35,000Naira and assaulted. The drivers retaliated by invading "Atikankan" area destroying properties and beating up the renown 419 boys in the arena.Along the way.according to eye witnesses, some properties belonging to the Hausas were also torched. This obviously drew the ire of the innocent traders and it became a free for all fight. The hausa's shops in Sabo area, opp.Mary Immaculate were looted and burnt. Before long, it suddenly became the Hausas Versus the Yorubas with the Hausas drawing Knives and Cutlasses while the Yorubas were seen carrying bottles and sticks.Three people were rumoured to have been killed.

As at the time of writing this report for nairaland, the security men have arrived in good numbers. The road is deserted,no car or motor cycle can move freely.Pockets of people are however sighted in front of houses far from where the security people are. The main market is deserted, the traders are packing their valuables out of the area because they anticipate a reprisal attack in the night from the Hausas.

This is an update with respect to the kidnap of For CMD Ekiti Teaching Hospital reported yesterday.

There are indications that the husband has been released early this morning based on phone called he made to the praying church members. The wife however is still been held. The assumption is that the kidnappers probably released the man so he could go ahead and secure the ransom cash.
Pls prayers continue

Politics / Ekiti Breaking News:dr Adegun & Wife Kidnapped...all Doctors To Go On Strike by expressglory: 7:02pm On May 08, 2015
I just received a text message that Dr Adegun,a reputable medical doctor and the former CMD of Ekiti State Teaching Hospital was kidnapped yesterday night just at the entrance of their house. He was abducted alongside his wife...Dr.Mrs. Kikelomo Adegun,a lecture in Faculty Of Agric.,Ekiti State University.

In a brisk reaction to this odd development ,the Ekiti State branch of NMA met and concluded to go on strike starting from 4pm this evening(May8,2015). This they said is to preempt any targeted attack at medical doctors all over the state as well as demand from the powers that be to go ahead to rescue the affected doctor!
Here are the pictures of the husband and the wife. Please pray for their safe release.

Politics / Another Judge Refuses To Stop Fayose’s Impeachment!!! by expressglory: 9:59am On Apr 25, 2015
Contrary to reports in some media yesterday, a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday rejected prayers by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State to stop the ongoing move to impeach him.

Justice Evoh Chukwu, after listening to an ex-parte motion filed by the seven Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, directed the 19 All Progressives Congress (APC) members of the state’s Assembly to show cause why he should not grant the plaintiffs’ prayers for restraining orders.

The judge also ordered parties to maintain status quo ante bellum “as at April 23, 2015″ pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunctions equally filed by the plaintiffs.

Defendants in the suit marked:FHC/ABJ/CS/3612015 include the 19 APC lawmakers, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Clerk, Ekiti House of Assembly and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Another judge of the same court, Justice Ahmed Mohammed had, about two weeks ago, rejected similar application filed in a similar suit.

According to an enrolled copy of the court’s ruling obtained yesterday, Justice Chukwu refused the plaintiffs’ requests (as contained in prayers 4, 5, 6 and 7) in the ex-parte motion.

They include an inteim order of injunction restraining INEC from further according legislative privileges to the 19 APC lawmakers and an order of interim injunction restraining the IGP from continuing to give cover or protection to the APC lawmakers

The court also refused to grant their prayer for an order setting aside all actions taken by the 19 APC lawmakers, including “the purported commencement of impeachment proceedings and notice of alleged misconduct against Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and his Deputy and an interim order “setting aside the purported notice of impeachment and all steps taken by the 2nd to 20 th defendants for the purpose of commencing the concluding impeachment proceedings against the governor and his deputy.”

The orders granted by the judge are as follows:

•That leave is granted to the plaintiffs/applicants to issue and serve the originating summons and all other processes in this suit on the 2nd – 21 defendants in Ekiti State outside the jurisdiction of this honourable court.

•That leave is granted to the plaintiffs/applicants to serve the originating summons and all other processes in this suit on the 2nd to 21st defendants by substituted means by advertising same in the newspaper.

•That the service of the originating summons and all other processes in this suit on the 2nd to 21st defendants are deemed as proper service.

•That on the application of plaintiffs/applicants’ counsel, time is hereby abridged to seven (7) days within which the respondents are to file their processes i.e counter-affidavit and written address if any from the date of the publication in the newspaper.

•It is hereby ordered that the status quo ante bellum as at 23 April, 2014 be maintained pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

•That respondents are to show cause why reliefs 4, 5, 6 and 7 on the face of the motion paper should not be granted.

•That this suit will be adjourned to May 4 for hearing of the motion on notice.

Politics / Re: “Fayose Has Not Paid Us Since September Yet You Are Fighting For Him” – Workers by expressglory: 9:46am On Apr 25, 2015
omooba969:

Questions you need to ask are:

1) Did Fayemi receive d september allocation frm which govt workers' salaries were to be paid? If yes, hold Fayemi responsible. If NO, proceed to next question.

2) Has Fayose received d said september allocation frm which govt workers' are to be paid. If yes, lock fayose's shirt when ever u sight him. If NO, then u av put a call thru to Badluck Jona-daft.

10x grin

ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS &More
1.Fayemi did not receive September allocation.Fayose is a serial thief

2.Fayose has received September allocation and the pending ecological fund (2.2Billion Naira)the Federal Govt is owing Ekiti state. He has transported the money to DUBAI

The real truth is that Ekiti has entered "one Chance'.This man is not in the government house to work...he came to loot...because all the money he looted in his first term has been used to settle EFCC.
Politics / Re: Channels Tv Staff In Trouble For Publishing False Story On Its Website by expressglory: 10:26am On Apr 21, 2015
The poster is very correct.A story titled Ojudu, Omirin, Others Disagree Over Fayose's Impeachment Largesse was published yesterday by channelstv.com.Its a disturbing story which I decided to verify.Now...before anyone could say Jack Robinson, the media aide of Gov Fayose,Mr Lere Olayinka put the story on the facebook.

I assume that when the bubble busted, about 8hrs after, channelstv removed the story while Lere Olayinka quickly deleted his post! It is easy therefore to know that the story is fashioned to portray Ominrin&co in bad light and no one could be behind such a scandal but Fayose&co!

In case anyone want to rubbish the story and say it si never published,Google Search engine has already crawled it.It may no longer be on Channels site but its in Google! Just search "channels tv fayose news"

Here is the screen shot of the google search

Politics / Ado-ekiti Locked Down:all Roads Blocked by expressglory: 11:57am On Apr 17, 2015
In what appears to be a government sponsored Drivers Union protest, all major roads in Ado-Ekiti were blocked by the protesters making smooth passage of vehicles within the metropolis very difficult. They are protesting the insistence by the 19Lawmakers to continue the impeachment proceedings. This is obviously fueled by the decision of the Federal High court,Abuja to allow the proceedings to go on.

Meanwhile in preparation for the total locked down the state govt announced this morning that all workers(civil servants) should stay at home on an artificial holiday to "PRAY" for Fayose.

Politics / Re: Ekiti State-how Fayose Won The Assembly Election ...A Must Read!!! by expressglory: 9:50pm On Apr 13, 2015
The issue with Fayose is that unlike other governors he has zero tolerance for opposition. He simply cannot stand the existence of anyone challenging him.And if you dare him either you are PDP or APC you may find yourself in big trouble that is if you are still breathing.

His zero tolerance nature was why he declared curfew in Ekiti to prevent APC supporters from celebrating Buhari's victory!

Politics / Ekiti State-how Fayose Won The Assembly Election ...A Must Read!!! by expressglory: 9:14pm On Apr 13, 2015
Taiwo Olatubosun,APC Publicity Secretary yesterday explained how PDP won the Ekiti State Assembly elections.
According to him:
"To be specific, APC members were driven to the bush in many towns across the state. They included Efon Alaaye, where PDP thugs did not allow any APC member to participate in accreditation while no party agent was allowed to stay in any of the polling units in the town.
"In Ilupeju-Ijan, APC members alleged that the traditional ruler of the settlement threatened to banish them because of their refusal to vote for the PDP as he decreed. The dwellers in their hundreds left their abodes and could not vote for the party of their choice," he explained.

Also in Ijan-Ekiti, PDP agents forced members of the National Youths Service Corps, who worked as adhoc staff, to abandon card readers for manual accreditation in three units, namely Eyingbe, Ogbontitun and Imekun in the town to enable them stuff the ballot box in support of PDP candidate who is from the town.

Olatubosun said APC members in Ilejemeje Local Government were driven into the bush while thugs and policemen from the Government House did most of the thumbprinting of the ballot papers. He added:" In Ikere Ekiti, thugs and policemen from the Government House did not allow APC members to vote while party agents were driven into the bush. In Afao Ekiti, Fayose's town, many APC members were not allowed to vote as they were driven into the bush by Fayose's thugs imported into the town previous night."

The statement also noted that in Oke-Ako country home of factional Speaker, Dele Olugbemi, thugs and fake policemen were shooting to scare voters away while they were engaged in illegal thumbprinting of ballot papers.

"In Ijero Local Government, it was the same story as thugs chased away voters and carted away voting materials, including ballot boxes, and later thumb-printed papers and deposited them in the ballot boxes, while in Ado Ekiti, policemen attached to the Government House, who were not accredited to monitor election, arrested APC members illegally but were only released when the people protested that they were on illegal mission. They were thereafter detained," he said.
Olatubosun said PDP candidate in Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency Two, Sanya Aladeyelu, was moving from his town Eyio to Esure and Iropora with fake policemen harassing voters while in Itaji, Ayede, Ilemeso and Ilafon, thugs under the command of the candidate of the PDP in Oye Constituency II, raided polling units and carted away ballot papers which they later thumb-printed.

He explained that in Igogo, thugs and policemen from the Government House carted away ballot boxes after shooting into the air to scare away voters. The people went on protest over this.
"This is the trend in most parts of the state. Added to this is the fact that result sheets were not available in many polling units across the state while voting materials came late. We strongly believe that most of the results of the election were written since Friday at the Government House by Governor Fayose," he said.

He explained that Adedara, who was APC candidate in Ikere Constituency Two, was illegally arrested at his polling unit by a purported mobile police man in mufti. Many other arrests were also made on Thur/Friday to hinder normal pre election strategic mobilization
