Get rid of your email. Stop dropping it on public forums. People steal it and so do email mining robots. I am sure you have never heard of one before but there are many of them. The crawl websites looking for words that end with mail.com etc.

If you must drop your main on websites like this one do it like this .... nairaland@gmail-dot-com now someone will know what that is but a bot won't. Once you start getting useless emails in your inbox such as car insurance ads you know a robot has gotten ahold of your email and added it some mailing list somewhere which will be sold and resold. It's a big business.

Don't let modernization fool you what you did was very wrong but a lot of worldly people have done or seen worse. So many of them will not tell you this or understand your concience.
