Why is this refreshing, this boring old conflict has been going on for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The United Kingdom may just end up gone if there are no more benefits for the four nations inside of it. |

aribisala0: i do and ditto for ojukwu here on NL. your hearing is selective Well, you hear what you want to. According to you, the Igbo want both an Nnamdi Azikiwe and an Ojukwu. (Do you know the two outcomes?) Or maybe the Igbo population is split between the two, OH! that's right! That wouldn't support the argument that the Igbo all follow one ruler leader like everybody else. Whatever makes you happy. . . . . |
Politics › Re: Will APGA Take Over South East? by ezeagu(m): 8:57pm On Jun 23, 2011 |
aribisala0: whatever the thread is meant to discuss, factual inaccuracies will be challenged . many igbo people hide behind that proverb to create stereotypes about other groups. i do not understand this. must you disparage others to feel good about yourselves even if it means retelling their stories. does the absence or presence of kings of itself make a society democratic. this idea that having or not having kings somehow influences voting behaviour is unfounded as all evidence shows that in national politics igbos when faced with a choice of igbo vs non-igbo always vote igbo just like everyone else. nothing to do with having kings.
sadly people are too lazy to do their own thinking and just regurgitate prejudicial ideas that chime with their biasctoward others Jonathan isn't Igbo. |

aribisala0: true igbo are not lemmings.i agree who are lemmings? what i have shown is they always voted behind ZIK i am sure they had good reasons but when others do exactly the same thing they are lemmings.?.
this is what psychologists call attribution error.
do you really believe other nigerian groups are less sagacious I don't hear things like 'who will be the next 'Nnamdi Azikiwe', if you get the point. |
Ghana is doing well, because it is dominated by one group and that Akan people. That includes the Ashanti, Fante, Akyem, Denkyira, Kwahu etc. Even though they view themselves as separate groups, they are united by their indigenous language of Twi.
This dominance of the Akan people can be seen in their language, in which Northern Ghanaians such as the Hausa and Dagomba speak Twi, the Ewe in the Volta region speak Twi, even the Ga people of Accra speak Twi.
It also helps that Ghanaians is a small country and easy to manage.
Yeah, but 'diversity' and 'unity' is the key just like in Nigeria. You need millions of acres of land and even more languages to make a country the 'giant of Africa'. You cannot become developed if you are not 'diverse' and if you do not have as much land and people.

But they're not a 'giant of Africa' with thousands of square miles of land and billions of tiny, 'united' ethnic groups. This is impossible. A country with only one dominant nation, the Akan? |
