ChinenyeN: The way I see it, we have a number of options. We can play the rout of separate states/mutual interests, like in the days of the palm oil trade, after slavery was abolished, or we could actively dominate their in-state markets and tactfully/economically secure access to the sea, if access to the sea is that big of a deal, or, if worse comes to worse, either just kill them all off or just absorb them; no need to think long and hard about a solution to this 'problem'. I know the option I would choose though. Wow. Some harsh choices. I'll chose absorption although that will take a long time. Maybe buy off the lands under Port Harcourt, there's hardly anything there and then Bonny. By the way this sounds a lot like a Palestinian-Israeli situation, even if it hasn't happened, yet. |

So Kuforji will expose him and poor lagos natives will know who fashola really is I think Fashola is doing a good job, it's not fair to say he's a crook, although he's overexposed. I think SE's should focus on their region and producing people better in leadership than Fashola, even if it is yourself, I think every region should do this until Nigeria breaks and we can breathe a deep breath of relief and try and work as neighbours. |

pleep: Put a damn sock in it. They are insulting us we have the right to insult them back! stop being such a wussy. why cant black people stop craving approval from these people? So because somebody is racist to you you will proceed to be racist to people who are unrelated to your anger. So if a Negro kills a white man's wife out of race hate, that white man can unleash his anger on the first black man he sees even if it's you. I guess it's easier to do all this behind a computer screen. How do we know no Negro offended those Chinese people for example? |

Jonathan is not really a leader, more like an administrator, look at how ineffective he has been since those recent bomb blasts in abuja, he is way out of his depth, he can not move an inch unless he gets clearance from the US or britain. Please, how long will it reach AFRICOM to match the death toll the Fulani herdsmen have produced in Northern Nigeria (you know, 800 at a time), answer this one first. |

Martass: ezeagu,
Yeah I know it sounds racists but believe me if you know what these Asians think about blacks you would want to go and hide under a rock.
Recently, a so-called Asian researcher published an article about black women being ugly and he tried to put a scientific spin on it.
You know, I was so incensed by his outlandish claim not as much as he saying black women are ugly but trying to drape it in a scientific cloak.
In the arena of beauty, People have things which give them the kicks, and that’s fine. Different people different strokes, and for me like I said I don’t find them attractive at all and wish I could discuss Black vs Chinese/Japanese beauty with that Prof. Well these men obviously don't share that 'scientists' view, do they? |

Martass: As a black man I don't honestly find the Chinese/Japanese women attractive and find it a little surprising that our women find their men attractive. Maybe there is something I don't see or know but this beautiful black women dating Chinese women is annoying me to say the least.
This is not to say that there are no beautiful Chinese/Japanese women but on the whole they are short- flat-Bottom-ugly midgets with bad teeth. In a short while the Chinese would multiply like red ants in Africa and caboom! we shall be having a lot of ugly Chinese/Black children. This is very racist, but of course, it's okay because you're Negroid. |
Politics › Boko Haram Strikes Again! 'Nigerian Bank And Police Station Attacked In Katsina' by ezeagu(op): 3:56pm On Jun 21, 2011 |
21 June 2011
Men armed with guns and explosives have attacked a bank and police station northern Nigeria, killing seven people.
It is not known who carried out the the simultaneous attacks in the town of Kankara in Katsina state.
The attacks come as police chiefs from across Nigeria's 36 states are meeting in Abuja to discuss the threat posed by radical Islamist sect Boko Haram.
The group has carried out a wave of attacks targeting police, mainly in the north-eastern state of Borno.
Last Thursday, Boko Haram said it was behind the bombing of the national police headquarters in the capital, Abuja.
Correspondents say if Boko Haram is confirmed to be behind Monday's attack, it would be a further sign that the organisation's network is spreading to other parts of the country.
"The attackers were 10 in all, divided themselves in two groups and attacked the bank and the police station at the same time with guns and bombs," Kankara resident Salmanu Jabir told the AFP news agency. Continue reading the main story Map
How should Boko Haram be tackled?
A spokesman for Boko Haram said police chief Hafiz Abubakar Ringim had been the target of Thursday's bombing at the police headquarters, in which eight people died.
The group says it is fighting for Islamic rule, and campaigns against all political and social activity associated with the West.
Boko Haram's leader Mohammed Yusuf and several hundred of his supporters were killed by security forces in Maiduguri in 2009 after the group attacked police stations.
After a lull, their attacks have intensified in the last nine months.
The sect's trademark has been the use of gunmen on motorbikes, killing police, politicians and anyone who criticises it, including clerics from other Muslim traditions and a Christian preacher. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13861739Here we go. . . . . |
As you already should know. The inhabitants of both areas speak Ijaw as well. Bonny in particular, half the population speaks Ijaw. So you can't say they simply speak Igbo. And both towns were founded as Ijaw settlements with Igbo populations. Opobo even though it was founded by an Igbo man does not make the town Igbo.
So where would they be grouped to? |
If you speak the same language as other groups. Then you should be made into one state. We shouldn't care what you call yourself.
If for example Igbo is your first language, your ancestors spoke Igbo, and your name is Igbo, then you should be placed in a state full of Igbos.
Wouldn't that be awkward seeing as Bonny and Opobo fit that description but are separated from the mainland Igbo by Ijaw and Ogoni speakers? |
