OBAFEMIawolowo: Nigeria is just rubbish, see as Onitsha is so disorganized. Ibadan is just a disgrace m, in fact nigeria is annoying in general.
Onitsha is too stuffy, Enugu and owerri are better( still not up to standard) ibadan that I know is just a mess. It's true, there really isn't anything t praise or showcase (or fight about) here, all these places are still pretty backward in terms of global standards. |

tonychristopher: same with me...i think we should leave some section for pristine forest...maybe the okigwe enugu highway and enugu nsuka highway
i want to be able to show my daughter crovcodile, show her hippo or chimp...she only sees that in movies...yes igbo land is urbanizing rapidky but we must also have conservation...i know most western region villages are living in conservation we need to build a natural park or conservation...maybe find a prototype igbo village built there with the 16th century setting of mud house, mbubo and ama..these are important ....
it has been decades I have not seen a mud house in Anambra state...please where do we have mud house...i need to show my daughter what it is like to live in mud house and what it is like to drink that sweet water from earthen pot
it is always cold
do you know I agree, it's funny, because the people we think we are copying are going back to our own ways of conservation and environmental consciousness. They now eat organic foods, use natural/rustic cutlery and furniture and live in mud houses worth millions. This is Smith, Will Smith family home which is based on African and Mediterranean architecture. It's worth over 50 million dollars and look at all the greenery around it. https://memoirsofanurbangentleman.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/jada-pinkett-will-smith-wide-x17-getty1.pngAnd this is a house built with mud: https://czphx.com/images/czwork/rammed-earth/08-rammed-earth.jpg |

Cjrane2: There are no longer any forests left in Igboland. However, you are 100% right. People should plant more trees and flowers. Especially in urban areas. Someone had actively been planting pine and palm trees along most road medians in Enugu. Hopefully, they are allowed to grow and transform the ambiance of that city. We do need more trees and flowers planting campaigns in our key cities. It is often a crucial but ignored aspect of development Most of Igboland is forest, some virgin. |

I don't really like the rate of deforestation in Igboland. Plant/leave some trees. |

fr3do: I have always believed that science and technology will grow if it is taught with our native languages, one setback I saw is the numerous languages of numerous ethnic groups that exist; this problem this idea of a general lingua franca has solved.
But then, English has turn out to be an almost universal language, ditching it would be counterproductive and pointless.
Let's stick with English. You just agreed and disagreed with yourself in one post. |

What I've learnt from this thread is that northern Nigerian cities claiming a population of 5 million and upwards are virtually empty, some of the pictures of so called major cities have almost nobody in them. |

meforyou1: Which Yoruba colony in Peckham? Peckham that my cousin has landed properties. Dominated by igbos and Jamaicans. So also Tottenham. So also Brixton. Boy, you shouldknow who you tell those tales by moonlight, not widely travelled person like me Guy, the second language of London is Yoruba. That is a Yoruba colony as shown by all the various statistics, that's their away base. The United States is where migrant Igbo are based. |

Pretty despicable person to quote. Not only calling Igbo people "half civilised" and basically 'mulatto', but going on to class certain people as 'worthy of the cotton field'. Not good. |

wacoj: I schooled in Anambra state and i know that this nonsense culture is VERY pronounced there. Go to a place like NIBO or NISE in Awka south LGA, they practice same culture. The funny thing is that they are also scared of going close to eke when they see one. I once challenged a native of the town to touch it if it doesn't bite. My fellow students once killed a very giant eke at night and NO shit happened.
I am from Abia state and we kill anything called snake. They are evil. It's the white people that filled your head with nonsense that harmless creatures are evil. |
