I can't see how a faction of ISIS is down for conversation. What are they going to talk about? I've never heard ISIS asking for anything. This just sounds like another scam. |
Jungle Africa. |
I think this (top picture) should be standard business dress in Nigeria/West Africa, instead of suits, it 'suits' the climate better and is not a symptom of copy-copy. |
Orjioorji:He is a con artist. There is no such thing as a "man of God". |
Interesting, will this help Nigeria or just find a way for Boko Haram to leak arms through the army? |
OREMUSSANCTUS:Pedo's full that one. |
Please, does anyone know where I can get this cap: www.nairaland.com/attachments/2698605_13_jpgedit_jpege2a74d917f98c97862448ef4ebf9fdcf |
Nice hair. |
omonnakoda:But I'm speaking as someone who knows Ika people well. Do you know any Ika? Why would he have to clarify he's not Igbo because people were speaking Igbo to him when most if not all Ika-speaking people can speak standard Igbo and are taught so in school? The fact is, he could just have said he was an Ika, which he didn't say, which means his main point was to distance himself from being Igbo. That's fine, but next time he gets support from the Igbo community or gets an appointment because someone assumed he was Igbo he should say that first before stretching out his hand. That's all. |
Abeg, let's watch something more inspirational: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps4-UPHneeI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9Ihs241zeg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCermULRk-I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ8Kpk2FPCc |
Stolen:That's the problem, people like him and others from "Igboid" groups who have a history of having people not only completely disassociating themselves from the Igbo people, but also being openly anti-Igbo, like the Ika and Ikwere, also do not disclaim the benefits they get from being associated with being Igbo, like Tonto Dikeh (Ikwere) and Sunday Oliseh (Ika), they still benefit from being part of something they supposedly hate being a part of, or at least a good amount of their people do. |
CHM11:The thing is, the statement is loaded with history, especially history of especially Ika people not only partly denying they are Igbo, as well as benefiting from the trajectory of the wider Igbo people under the guise of Anioma, but there's also anti-Igbo sentiment in his tone, it was completely unnecessary for him to say he was not Igbo, he could just say his name and say where he was from. He just sounded insecure, as if he didn't want any Igbo person associating with him, and that's fine, but don't try and insult anybody, and that's why he's being scolded. |
CHM11:He didn't actually say he's an Ika man, he just blurted out he's not Igbo as if there was something wrong with that, if he simply said my name is actually Ika it would have made sense, he didn't mention Ika once, he simply referred to Abavo as a small village. |
I know about Ika, I speak it a little. The truth is people from Ika and Ukwuani are actually confused and uncertain about their relationship with an Igbo identity, you could get some that would say they are Igbo, some would even say they're not Igbo they are "Ibo", and many who would act as if Igbo is a different ethnic group (and harbor strong anti-Igbo sentiment, like the rest of western delta areas, unfortunately). They're not actually sure where they stand, I say this because even the Obi of Owa, an Ika town that's even closer to Edo State than Abavo has confirmed that their history stems from what is now Anambra State. I find that the people who disclaim being Igbo usually don't have that 'Igbo spark' in them, they don't have that thing about them that you recognise when you see an Igbo person and even when some of them claim to be Igbo it doesn't always sit well. This makes more sense when you look in the history of these towns and find that a massive portion of the families that settled there were actually Edo people and not Igbo people, and were acculturated into a hybrid Edo-Igbo society. |
BADNEAT:What do you mean by Itsekiri fought the battle? |
Man, Nigeria is truly pre-historic. |
nwaanambra1:Human life is greatly devalued in Nigeria, it's why newspapers can post images of thousands of burnt corpses and people will merely say 'eyah'. |
rexbuton:Every part of the country has traditional religion, stop bashing peoples beliefs. |
'Jumbo', where does that name come from? |
Who cares? |
gboss4sure:Ah ah, why all this answer for a macaque? |
A true Igbo leader because he met Obama? Is this what they're spending their money one? Framing pointless pictures of a handshake Obama forget 2 seconds later? |
"Joystick" is such a useless way of censoring penis, which is a scientific name, not a dirty word, by the way. |
ibedun:How to reply to nonsense? |
More shocked at the amount of bleaching. |
Why always black people? |
It looks gutted out. |
mensdept:Well, if that were true people in Nigeria wouldn't be legally jailed for 14 years for holding the hand of the same sex. |
I made this thread for you guys: https://www.nairaland.com/2481370/japanese-culture-share-much-igbo |
Some people don't understand the difference between same sex marriages and homosexual sex. People back then had same sex marriages, what was made law in the United States was same-sex marriage, they are completely separate issue to homosexual sex, for example not all those who are in a homosexual marriage in today's context are sexual, many are just romantic or some could just be convenience. The fact is that someone can't say a woman marrying woman or the reverse is not African because they did exist, the issue of sex is now separate. I believe two women who got married would have had some kind of a bond, even if just 'sisterly' so that's still love. |
bokohalal:Good conclusion. |
