Gewezzy1: thanks, the Masters degree am looking into doesn't require GRE but either Tofel or ielts. Truthfully, Your GPA is way way Low, and forget all the crap admissions committees say about holistic applications, they're most likely going to toss your application aside, as they have grant proposals to write, and depressed PhD students to supervise ; since there would most likely be tons of 3.8+GPA and 320+GRE folks on the line. Next line of action would be to find tier C schools (avoid for profit institutions biko) with higher admissions rate and decent profiles, where you know you stand a better chance of getting admitted, and try them out. |

theamerican: Ok. You're saying IGU has no international student(s)? You're saying for sure that no one can get a visa to come to the U.S. to study at IGU? If both answers are yes and you have proof, I'll accept your statements and apologize for my ignorance.
This thread topic says "enquiries for USA student visa". I have absolutely no interest in what anyone has as a plan for their life after school or after they get their visa unless they ask for my opinion. I focus on the primary issue and that is: "How can this member get a visa, legally, based on the information provided?".
It's not my job to worry about why someone would wanna spend $100k to go study adult education in Singapore. It is not my business. Again, when I'm asked what can I do to get a visa, I consider what information the person provides and give my opinion. That's all.
They have the freedom to completely ignore my opinion/advice and call me clueless. Whether it's to Stanford to study STEM or to IGU/VIU to study fishery, immigration intent is immigration intent. spinning the argument around to claim amoral, even when you're wrong; classic move. Iglobal is red flag school, a visa mill, a school running on accreditation roller-coaster, no Nigerian is definitely going to get a visa in 2018 with that school; yes I said so. Funny how on your other thread, you're advising Nigerians to leave the hell-hole which is Nigeria, and run to the USA, and here you are claiming oblivious to a doomed immigration intent, seeing someone on the damned path to the fiery lake of Gehenna, and you say it's none of your business. turns out you're a two faced lying BS writer . we've seen your type all over NL over and over again, babyosisi, odiaero, jennykadry et al . soldier go soldier come, and i'll still be observing here from my one room here in mushin, shining my teeth |

AlterEnigma: 2. Pls and pls , As stated so many times here... When asked how you got to know about the school.. they dont want to hear msinus or internet ish.. Absolute foolishness, how else are people supposed to look for schools, by consulting orisa and IFA abi ..... there's nothing wrong with finding a school online, as that is what the internet was made for, getting information, otherwise previously unreachable due to location barriers, at the tip of your fingertips, hearing about the school from even buhari or Trump himself makes you no different from me who tailored my search on any of these college search engines, heck schools even have online tours for international applicants self, and ever ready support for those of us who "found them online" Make sure you have a legit fellow who you heard about the school from..
VO asked this fellow how he got to know about the school and he called the name of a person.. the VO then told the guy to spell the name while he checked his database.. They have all this info on their server.. so be careful if you plan on using someone whose been through their system Honestly, at bolded, how stupid do you think we are on this forum, VO's type all the time as they're constantly taking notes (which I feel is usually unnecessary). So the VO's have become the NSA , that have info about every damn human being you name, do you even realize that at least 4 people would bear your exact name, and except VO's can read minds how would thy know who you're talking about. . Again , I call BS on this hearing about school from awon bill gates. Still no difference from doing online research, if Trump tells me about liberty university today, and I do no further research while femi who has done his thorough online research also appears for a visa interview, you think I would get the visa because Trump told me about he school?.. if your answer to the above question is yes, then your wisdom and intelligence has the mathematical complex number j attached to it ( its imaginary) |

theamerican: First of... congratulations!!! I hope you enjoy your stay here and your dreams come true. Congrats.
I'm curious, please explain what you meant by the standards here not matching what the case is in reality. I'm just curious, I wanna learn.
Of course, your brother's status is your business. If he came in as a student, and decided to remain after studies, it's normal for them to think you'd be going the same route. Remember, the VOs are trained to assume every applicant wants to come here and never return. It's nothing serious.
Your 2nd interview was obviously better than the first. I'm proud of people who don't let any failure/obstacle stop them, so... congratulations one more time. it is a well documented mental case known as PVAGG (post VisaApproval Gra Gra) , in this state, the newly approved visa hopeful gets all philosophical when laying down their transcript for the rest of us that have not been to the embassy, they dish out advice, criticize the forum and disappear forever |

ChristoBam: Hello guys please i have something bothering me so I need your advices. I believe the U. S visa thread is a big family from which I can seek advice whenever I need it. I started my application to the U.S hoping I'd get a scholarship or something. I've been working on it since last year but I've not gotten any. It's most possibly because my WAEC and high school transcript is too average. I'm about to risk it and go to the U. S. My plans are one of these 1) Transfer to a community college after getting to the U. S 2) Get a scholarship for my 2nd year if possible but I wonder as i'll get through the first year as the tuition and board is $16k per year. My Budget is about 2 million. I don't want to have any regrets so I need your advice. Should I take the risk of traveling given the circumstances. I don't even know if there's a community college that meets my budget. I searched and I saw some but I don't know if there are high hidden costs. I need advice from experts. 2 million = $5,500 approx. after your health insurance, rent, uber and bus rides, school related fees, new comer miscellaneous fees, you're almost going to have nothing left, I mean nothing after a month or two, and trust me to dey stranded for Yankee worst pass Naija own, because every man works out his own salvation in that corner of the earth. if you're not in so much of a hurry to travel, you can complete undergrad here in Nigeria, and proceed for graduate studies, where the prospects of funding, research assistantship, and grant money is higher and better. if you're in a hurry to leave us here in Nigeria, then getting admission to an OK school would not be a bad idea, and then immediately proceed to transfer to a community college. There are medium paying freelance jobs online, 6 hours of extreme coffee, and 4 hours per day of sleep, can earn you just about enough to not have you turn the gym shower to your morning base. |

theamerican: I'm just glad I can help. A little encouragement to someone goes a long way and that's all I try to do. At the end of the day, everyone's free to either listen to "You can't do it" or "you can do it" advice.
I walked the path of studying here to citizenship. I know the number of "you can't do it", "you'll come back to your senses when reality kicks in" comments I got. In the end, I did it. Others can do it too. Yes!!! Yes!!! You did it, so can others !!!!. But the sad sad thing is that only one out every 100 kid born where I was raised will ever climb the socioeconomic ladder to the "Nigerian" middle class; Not because the others didn't work hard, or get encouragement or persevere in long suffering like other fruits of the Holy spirit; it's simply because this is life and it will f*ck us up harder than a hobo on steroids. Lots of Young people go to Hollywood to try out their talents, how many do you ever hear off, how many are currently sleeping on side walks in Los Angeles, How many are have seen serving at 24 hour diners for a decade and counting? . It is true that the world is what it is today because of great folk who took the road less traveled, but we must temper dreams and adventure with common sense. The western world is a pretty individualistic place , not even you would agree to host a brother when sh*t hits the fan, and the adventure leaves a sour taste in the mouth. The world has become overrun with ideas, smart people, innovation, even silicon valley isn't the dream maker it used to be, and its great to look to the "renegades" to look for inspiration, but again caution. If Thefacebook failed for good ole zuckerberg, he still wouldn't be poor, he's an upper class white Jewish guy who went to Phillip Exeter; Obama had great white grandparent and went on to Harvard; and elon musk would still be liquid even in Tesla goes bust as SpaceX still brings in the Benjamin's. "Renegade", " adventure " and "diversion from the norm" won't pay the bills when the Capitalist comes knocking or help you either when immigration has some dirt on you. It all sounds like the rat race but here's what chinua achebe has to say........ "It is praiseworthy to be brave and fearless, but sometimes it is better to be a coward. We often stand in the compound of a coward to point at the ruins where a brave man used to live.".. . . caveat emptor: I have typed all this from my one room apartment in mushin , take it with a pinch of salt please |

Coxtie: I so much appreciate your concern.. but it’s not easy to follow.. you have to also consider the fact that I have spent a lot of money and much of effort to get to this place..so I can’t follow your advice... I’m sure life in America is not smooth and easy but we should always pray that God should give us the best people spent time and money to invest in Bernie Madoff's investment scheme; it turned out to be one big ponzi scam... people spent time and money to invest in Enron; the company's book cooking days caught up with them, and poof!, they were gone.. people spent time and money and life in Lehman Brothers; and in days, trillions of dollars went up in smoke.... people spend time, life, money, and make sacrifices on many many things that never work out; don't get too hooked on sunk cost, at this point you should planning very carefully, and not getting stuck up on whatever resources that have been expended. Live Long and Prosper. |

deepwater: Kai
This is so wrong from the pilot of the approaching vessel. A vessel the size of TOLTEN is not supposed to approached the quay side under its own power! It ought to be on dead slow, while the tugs do the shouldering, pulling and pushing. There is a reason terminal tugs are being built, just like the ASD DAURA, ASD UROMI, ASD UBIMA and ASD MAJIA recently purchased for the Nigerian premier port, Apapa.
The VDR of the TOLTEN should be replayed to know what exactly transpired at the bridge between the vessel master and the pilot. This will be the start of query from the insurance company. One thing is certain, the owners of the TOLTEN must have been sued by now. As for the sinking containers, this would be cleared by P&I wreck removal cover except the ship has no civil liability certificate for wreck removal pursuant to article 12 of the NAIROBI convection, 2007.
By and large both ships must attend dry dock session, as the classification society needs to suspends the class certificate due to hull damages.
A bad day for a seafarer on board these ships
Dont be surprised to see those damged empty containers lying fallow at freedom bus-stop by OTTO WOFF next 6 months One of the reasons I just had to follow you; very smart analysis |

demiiii: Hello guys, I have applied to a school in Canada and have completed my application but having my MBA transcript outstanding as the school is currently on strike and am currently not sure if it has been sent.
I am a married with two kids, one has the blue passport while the other has the green passport. My sponsor is my dad and the bank statement shows over 25k dollars. I have applied to a school in Canada as well as 3 schools in USA. My question is if I am eventually given the visa, when do i get to apply for my kids / husband since I didn't include them in the form as accompanying me. I felt, I should apply first before applying for my husband and kid.
Do I need to also apply for the child with the blue passport. My husband and other kid also have 2yrs US visa.
Please advise me on both instances, Canadian Students Visa and US Students visa.
Kindly advise me. I have typed my questions several times but. I end up deleting it because am confused on what and how to ask the question. I wouldn't want anyone to shut me down. I have. Read so many things on this platform. And I have also made others join for more knowledge and contribution.
Thank you. This story reeks of chain migration intent; but hey, There's nothing the "lord" cannot do |
