Foreign Affairs / Thousands Sign Petition Tolet People Drink Liquid Found Inside Egypt Sarcophagus by Ezyp(m): 4:41am On Jul 23, 2018

A petition to let people drink from a red liquid found inside a 2,000-year-old Egyptian sarcophagus has received thousands of signatures.

Speculations about the large black granite sarcophagus quickly started after its opening in the coastal city of Alexandria earlier this month.

Yet Egypt's Antiquities Ministry says the liquid is neither 'juice for mummies that contains an elixir of life' nor is it red mercury but only sewage water.

It also says the find doesn't belong to any ancient rulers and the remains are undergoing restorations to reveal more.

The tongue-in-cheek petition was created last week and now has over 11,000 signatures. The petition encouraged people that they needed to 'drink the red liquid from the cursed dark sarcophagus' in order to 'assume its powers'.

People were quick to comment, with one writing: 'We deserve the power of the Egyptian elite.'

Others said: 'Who knows what divine powers this juice possesses' and 'the red liquid will unlock unlimited power'.

The mysterious ten foot (three-metre) long, 6.5ft (two metre) high coffin was found buried 16ft (five metres) beneath the ground of the city.

Egyptologists pried open the 30-ton (27,000 kg) sarcophagus to reveal three decomposed bodies.

Some suggest it belongs to the ancient Greek ruler, Alexander the Great.

Others warned of 'the curse' opening it would unleash. These reports were dismissed by the ministry.

None of the three mummies belong to a Ptolemaic or Roman royal family, as previously suggested.

This conclusion is based on the coffins bearing no inscriptions or a cartouche displaying the occupant's names

The lack of silver or gold metallic masks, statues, amulets or inscriptions also suggests they were not of high status.

Turkey airlines are good but consider Emirates if you book earlier, their price is cheaper compare to Turkey

Hi guys, I want to send my documents to Germany for several school for summer semester applications and these documents are certified.

Now I'm confused in either sending photocopies of the certified documents or I should make photocopies of my documents and certify them for each school I'm sending them to.

Can anyone enlighten me?
In addition to what others have written. If the three schools you are applying to requires you to use uni-assist then certify and send only ONE to uni-assist.

Sports / Mexico Fans Set Off Earthquake Sensors Celebrating Win Over Germany by Ezyp(m): 10:40am On Jun 18, 2018
Mexicans jumping in jubilation on Sunday shook the ground hard enough to set off earthquake detectors after their team scored a surprise victory over World Cup defending champions Germany.

The Institute of Geological and Atmospheric Investigations said highly sensitive earthquake sensors registered tremors at two sites in Mexico City, seven seconds after the game’s 35th minute, when star player Hirving Lozano scored. It called the tremors an “artificial” quake.

Fans waving Mexican flags and wearing traditional “sombrero” hats, gathered at the iconic Angel of Independence monument in downtown Mexico City, to watch the match on on a giant screen in front of a towering cathedral.

As Mexico beat Germany 1-0 in Moscow, they sang the country’s unofficial soccer anthem, “Cielito Lindo,” or “Pretty Little Sky,” a popular folksong.

At the Angel of Independence monument after the match, Rodolfo Pulido, 47, led a chant of “Mexico! Mexico! Mexico!” perched on a concrete barrier that usually separates traffic on a busy thoroughfare.

“I am incredibly happy,” said Pulido, with his girlfriend and son on a Father’s Day outing. “It’s a double gift: Mexico won and I get to celebrate with my son.”

Presidential front-runner Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador offered his congratulations at a campaign event in Mexico state, telling supporters, “Just like the team won today, Mexico will keep winning.”

Fans on social media celebrated goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa’s performance, circulating memes depicting him as president of Mexico.

Others riffed on US president Donald Trump’s pledge to build a border wall between the United States and Mexico, placing photos of Ochoa guarding the goal alongside the caption “Hey! We already have a wall.”

Another popular meme depicted German chancellor, Angela Merkel, holding a phone to her ear with the text: “Donald? It’s me Angela. Please build the wall.”
