It's a shame and a slap on the face of Christianity, that such a beautiful girl died because of Cancer..

Are her parents not Christians?

what church does her parents attend?

It's not like I'm bragging, but no loved one of mine will die from sickness, not when my God is alive....
Na this kind of people will turn to athiest when something terrible happen to them.

Have read of great men of God that died at an early age.
David Brainerd and so on. GOD take His beloved before evil day.

God is God and he does what he likes.
Yes we can pray like Hezekiah and if He so wish he answer and if he does not like the case of Moses, accept his perfect will.

EducationRe: From MBBS To Botany, Please I Need Suggestion! by FA13(m): 4:49pm On Dec 28, 2017
Debra911:
Dear, pls don't give up on ur passion, keep striving, its not a matter of aw far but how well. Most medical students u see today didn't just get there as easy as u think, they av their stories to tell, many paid lots of sacrifices to get there, they did this, not because they don't av many other options or know abt more profitable jobs(like ppl working in shell or big oil companies...) to switch to rather than wasting money rewriting jamb,

No, they kept on striving because of the passion they have for the profession and the desire to be fulfilled. The truth is if u don't av PASSION for this course called medicine, u might regret going into it and want to give up along the way, by wishing u were in botany. So if it's truly wat u want, pls kip striving and nva give up, nothing good comes easy.

About the course botany, u can take it to get much experience dat will help u in writing the next jamb pretty well, u might get a better score dat will help u tru next year, nva be distracted with campus life and advice from roommates, even if u fall, pls do rise again for wat u love never give up. Don't be distracted by wat you hear, u should know this s ur life, if u rise, u rise alone and if u fall, u fall alone, none will help, we've got one life to live not two. I have my own stories to tell and I'm glad today dat I nva gave up. I don't know aw to get it to FP, but u can read it on ds blog, www.marastrove.com. Tnx to d owner of d blog.

The idea of switching from botany to medsurg in 2nd s nva an easy thing, even wen ur gp s high, I can't give advice on that cos it hardly work for students who go tru dat means.

Wish you the best in all your endeavors!!!
Nice write up.

RomanceRe: Annoying Traits Some Guys Exhibit by FA13(m): 4:59am On Dec 08, 2017
Simplybami:
There are some traits some guys exhibit these days which ladies find repulsive. Though, some guys engage in such act
without knowing it's wrong, while others just feel it's a norm. I've come up with a list, if you're a guy and you fall under
this category, please desist from it and try to mend your ways

1. THE GUYS WHO HIDE UNDER THE CLOAK OF NICE GUYS

An incident happened few days ago, when I went to a restaurant to get a decent meal. As the lady was attending to me,
a guy sashayed in with his friend and the following conversation ensued:

Guy: hello, how are you?

Me: i'm fine, thank you.

Guy:you're pretty.

Me: thank you.

Guy:what's your name?

Me: Bami

(As I was about paying for my meal he cuts in)

Guy: don't worry, I will pick up the bill.

I smiled because I knew what he was getting at, so I politely declined and thanked him for his kind gesture. He insisted
and then I asked him why he was hell bent on paying for my meal. Then he said something shocking.

Guy:you're a beautiful girl, you should not be paying for your meal while I'm here.

I gazed at him surprisingly, if he had known the kind of person I was, he wouldn't have uttered that statement.
Apparently, he had tried that with other girls in past. Then I heard his friend whispering to him to make sure he gets my
mobile number. I knew that was what he was up to in the first place, but I kept my calm and offered my money to the
attendant the second time. He told her not to collect the money from me, insisting that he was going to pay. Then I lost
my cool, this guy was already creating a scene, he snatched the money from the attendant and shoved it into my
shopping bag that was with me. I shouted at him to stop embarrassing me and I went outside to pay to the madam, but
this guy still followed me and even suggested that he was going to drop me at home with his car. After much drama, I
paid the madam, and of course I didn't give him my number.

Ok guys, I get it, you want act like mister nice guy, like the one I just described up there just to impress a new girl you
just met. Trust me, I understand. But there should be a boundary. How can you just offer to pick up the bill of a girl
you just met because you think she's pretty, isn't that shallow? Please this is really embarrassing ok? So far the girl
didn't ask you for help, please respect yourself and keep your money to yourself. It's not even as if you want to pay the
money genuinely, it's because of the lady's contact you want to get, so why not just be upfront about it instead of hiding
under the cloak of 'Mr Nice Guy'? Trust me guys, most ladies find this disgusting, so please drop it.

2. THE ONES WHO INVITES GIRLS TO THEIR CRIBS ON FIRST DATES

Really guys? Like this is really bad please. You don't just expect a girl to come to your crib on a first date. I mean
courtesy demands that a first date should always be in a public place, so why will you invite a girl to your crib giving
silly excuses like 'you're a very private person and you don't like hanging out' please this is really wrong and outright
rude ok? The kind of society we live in doesn't even encourage that. What if you're a ritualist or a rapist? The girl would
always get blamed for visiting a guy she knows nothing about in the first place. So if you know you have nothing up your
sleeves, never suggest your place as the venue of a first date.

Side note to the ladies please:never go to a guy's place for a first date. There's a new trick out now,in fact it's an old
trick where some guys lace the drinks of their female guests just to have their way with them. Please protect yourself.
If you're not comfortable with the venue of the date, tell him about it and suggest a place where you guys can talk. If
he's not cool with this and insist on you coming to his crib instead, drop him like he's hot, he's obviously a douche bag.

3. THE BORING GUYS

Ever wonder why some girls always reply your messages late or at times just ignore? Well it's because they find you
boring. You can't keep asking the same questions over and over again and even type in abbreviation and expect a girl
to take you serious. Some guys can't even maintain an intellectually stimulating conversation, it's that bad. So how
exactly do you expect the girl to find you thrilling? And for the love of God, please stop typing in abbreviations. You're
lettered ain't you? So start acting as such. I'm a serious sapiosexual, and I always find guys with these traits as shallow.
I see philosophical conversations as pre-intimacy. So guys, work on your vocabulary and improve your conversation skills.
Make love to the girl's mind with intelligent words.

4. THE BRAGGARTS

Ok, I get it. Your father is a billionaire and your mother is the younger sister of Otedola, trust me I understand! But don't
go around rubbing it on people's faces. The annoying one is when a guy approaches a lady and the next thing he utters
is 'baby I want to take care of you' . Did she ask for your help? Or does she look like she's suffering? Please you need
to change the mentality that ,the only way through a girl's heart is money and start working on your personality.
Personality works for me any time any day over looks or any other thing. Make her fall for your personality, not your
account balance. Don't impress her with your wealth, so what happens when you go broke and she leaves you ? It's
because you've painted a false image of yourself, and that was what she was interested in,in the first place.

5. THE GROPERS

I hope you know it's disgusting when you touch a girl who is not your partner suggestively while having a conversion
with her right?. Please keep your hands to yourself next time. It is totally rude when you keep doing that ok? I used to
make my hair at a male hairstylist's place , but this guy can never keep his hands to himself, there was a day I shouted
at him and brushed his hands off angrily )after warning him several times to stop touching me. That was the end of my
visits to his salon. So next time you're having a conversation with a girl, please keep your hands to yourself instead of
touching her suggestively and tapping current.

6. THE ONES WHO CALLS EVERY GIRL THEY'VE JUST MET DIFFERENT PET NAMES

Please, if you've just met a girl, don't go around calling her different pet names, i'm sure I don't have to spell it out.
Just address her by her name. Most girls find this irritating when a guy they've just met is constantly reeling out
different pet names to address them. Please stop it, it is very disgusting.

Ladies in the house, what do you think?

TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by FA13(m): 2:51pm On Nov 16, 2017
bestdiddy:
Good morning my people

I trust we're all doing well.

Well, i've been pained and terribly heartbroken in recent days. Its really been tough since I got the disappointing news last week, But God has seen me through.

A few of you will probably know me from some of my comments and contributions made here. I just felt I should let you guys in on what has happened so far . . . it may be of help to someone.

Okay . . . I got admission to Deakin University (AL1) for a Masters in Business Analytics program to resume July 31, 2017.

I applied for the visa on June 15, 2017. Documents submitted are as follows:

1. Medicals submitted on June 22, 2017.
2. Academic documents including BSc certificate, WAEC, IELTS.
3. Resume
4. Employment letter dated Dec 15, 2011 evidencing my employment to one of the commercial banks in Nigeria.
5. Promotion letter.
6. Birth Certificate
7. Study Leave letter issued by my Bank
8. Registered Survey and Title documents of my land somewhere here in Lagos.
9. Salary Pay slips.
10. My Tax clearance letter showing my tax payments since I was employed.
11. Sworn Affidavit of sponsorship of my mom
12. My mom's school bank account statement, showing annual inflows of school fees payments.

My mom was my sponsor and she's the owner of a school here in Lagos. I provided incorporation documents, school fees receipts, notarised management account documents showing the revenue and expense profile of the school.

13. Title documents to a property owned by my mom which is rented out as well.
13. Rental receipts and account statement showing receipt of the rent annually.
14. Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Statement.

If I can remember any other one, I will mention.

After the application on June 15th, the following occured.

July 15th . . . . No response yet from DIPB

August 15th . . . . No response. Sent an email and they replied saying the application was still under assessment.

At this point, I and my agent had to defer the admission. Deakin deferred the admission to November 6, 2017 and the new COE was uploaded on the IMMI portal.

September 15th . . . still no positive response. I sent an email and called to speak with the Case Officer. Case Officer said they were still carrying out internal checks.

October 15th . . . Still no response. Application still under assessment.

October 18th . . . I sent a mail informing the DIPB that I had been admitted to a University in the UK for an MBA program and I would appreciate a more detailed update on the application as I still prefer studying in the OZ.

October 20th . . . I got an email asking me to urgently provide a 3months updated employment letter and 3months updated salary payslips.

I immediately obtained the employment letter and payslips from the HR team in my Bank and uploaded same on October 22nd.

October 26th . . . I got an email asking me to provide my bank account statement. The statement was uploaded 4days later.

And Finally, on November 9, 2017 . . . I got a Student Visa Denied Decision Letter via mail. The reasons were stressed in the paragraphs below:

"while you have personal ties in Nigeria in the form of your immediate family, I find that these ties do not, of themselves, constitute a strong incentive to return home when considered against the fact that you are single and lacking strong employment or economic circumstances in Nigeria."

“I find that the course you are seeking to undertake seems inconsistent with your previous academics, but consistent with your employment background. However, as we cannot verify the existence of your employer and employment, I am unable to ascertain your position and cannot determine whether your intended studies will be of benefit to your future employment.

When I saw the above stated reasons, I was shocked and amazed. Tears rolled out of my eyes and I just couldn't comprehend what I was reading. I was at my desk in my office and didnt want to cause a scene, but people around me knew something was wrong. I cried and in my heart, I asked God . . . "but Oh Lord, you know I am employed. I am a full staff of a top commercial bank in Nigeria, and I never lied about my employment . . . neither did I fake any of my documents provided"

Immediately, my mind went to the verification part which made me contact my HR Team to confirm if they received a mail from DIPB and they didnt verify. HR said that they received a mail from the Internal Control of the Bank asking to confirm the authenticity of the updated employment letter which I uploaded on October 20th. They confirmed within 1hour to Internal Control.

I contacted Internal Control and Control said they received the mail from DIPB asking to verify the authenticity of the Updated Employment Letter and the Bank Account Statement. They received the mail by 12.45pm and verified and confirmed to DIPB by 4.30pm same day. I actually saw a copy of the mail . . . The words were . . . "Both the employment letter and account statement are hereby verified authentic and issued by us".

So what went wrong . . . where did I go wrong? . . . why was I denied on the basis of lack of verification of my employment and employer. My employer is a top bank with international presence that Google could easily confirm to them that this bank exists.

Internal Control subsequently sent them a mail attaching my denial letter stating that "our staff just informed us that he was denied on the grounds that he is not a GTE because his employment and employer could not be verified . . . But we confirmed his employment to you on Nov 3, 2017 in the attached mail".

DIPB responded that they acknowledge the mail and a processing officer will take this up, and advised that the applicant contacts his case officer.

I sent a mail subsequently to my case officer, highlighting the reasons and calmly pleaded that they review the decisison because when I got the letter, I had to take it up with my employers thinking they didnt verify my employment to DIPB, but I was informed that indeed my employers did.

I just got a response yesterday from DIPB stating that once a decision is taken, they cant revisit it. They added that they understand how frustrating it is, but they believe no error was made and they suggested that I can always re-apply if I choose to.

Reapplication however involves starting the entire process again because i would have to obtain another COE for a semester next year. Since school fees will increase, Deakin stated I have to provide another Bank account statement and that means the N13million in my account has to sit untouched in the account.

I really cannot go through that pain and stress again because of some other things I cant reveal here.

. . . And there goes my efforts to do my masters in Australia. Funny enough and in all honesty, I actually intended to use the qualifications to get a promotion in my bank but majorly to improve my chances of joining the likes of Mckinsey & Company or Bain & Company. Top consulting firms that recently entered the Nigerian business space. Its always been my dream to consult in such companies and why I will always come back is because I'm an Igbo man and I dabble into a lot of side businesses which I always enjoy doing. So even though there are better opportunities in OZ, I would always come back after my studies to strike deals or set up cross border trades between Nigeria and Oz.

Who am I even trying to convince here sef . . .

Anyways, its happened, I gave it my best shot, I suffered, I toiled and I spent a lot of money, but all I can say is that

. . . the race is not to the swift . . . time and chance happeneth to all men.

Thanks a lot my people, you guys have been awesome and I pray you hopefuls never experience what I went through last week. All the best.
Sorry about that.
I wish greater thing come your way.

I want to appreciate every single member both home and abroad that has contributed to proferring solutions to the challenges of Nigerians trying to secure Australian student visa. If there is anything I have learnt from this thread, it is that, no mattter how big your problem might seem, there is someone that can suggest possible solutions to the problem more than any agent.

Based on the foregoing, I have two serious concerns, here it goes:

I have secured three Ph.D admissions (University of Wollongong, Macquarie University and Deakin University) in September. Out of the three, Macquarie offered me IMQRES-MREs as a research training pathway for the Ph.D program on 24th October 2017 for a 1st January 2018 commencement date. However, they made an error by signifying that there was no condition to be satisfied in the offer letter as against the pointer mail on candidature that I need to write IELTS. Because of my state of unrest, I contacted them after a week and apology was rendered. I quickly booked for an IELTS exam with the earliest been 25th November, 2017. Remember I would have to wait for 13days to get my result, so that means I would have to get my CoE approximately on December 8, 2017 as the earliest. Although, I contacted them and I was told I could still resume by January 15th. A sigh of relief. But.....

My Questions:
How possible is it to meet up with the January 15th start date given that I need to do medicals, apply for visa and endure the waiting game?

Is there any advice on any line of actions that I can take apart from the underlisted ones?
Based on the second question, I have already generated my HAP ID for medicals, filled my acceptance offer letter, lodged for OSHC to be provided by my university since 25th October 2017 ( though no reply from zenith bank yet), create an immiaccount and got stucked when I was asked to add CoE code. I believe I can get more suggestions on things to do before lodging my visa applications.

Does any one know how long it will take to get visa after looking at my total story? given all this waiting since July, I read (wished I did not read them though, but thats reality)?

Do I need to get Police clearance certificate at CID, ALAGBON, IKOYI.

Thanks ALL in anticipation of a response from you guys. I would not pledge allegiancem, but I really love this thread!

I would talk about the other concern in another post later. And I am ready to answer questions on how I got three Ph.D admissions within Australia if there is any.
