Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Jobberman's 2013 - 100 Best Companies To Work For In Nigeria. by fabby26(m): 1:11pm On Jan 10, 2014
And after all these so called companies will put conditions for employment such as:
minimum of 20years experience, you can imagine where a fresh graduate can obtain such number of years of experience.
If one had gotten 20 years experience in companies outside the one listed, what will make you to leave all that to port to these washy washy companies.

And some will even put age bracket on top of that number of experience you should have. Something like:
Persons above the age of 20 years should not apply. Now tell me when one will be through with school with incessant ASUU strike, finish Youth service, come gather 5-10 years experience top am and still remain below 20 years. Why can't they recruit applicants with little or no experience and train and tailored them to their practices and after absorb the bests into their workforce. Crappy Companies with crappy conditions. Some of these mutinational companies don't put most of these crappy conditions in other developed countries where they operate.

Companies full of BULLSHITS!!!

That can't be possible, unless they want mass failure of students. No department had even commenced lectures talkless of finishing their course outline for second semester 2012/2013 session before they embarked on strike last yr July, and you're here talking of exam next wk. That's unreasonable, no matter how unique UP is, it can't just be possible. Period! What have they taught or what have the students learnt to qualify them for semester exam. That rumour is FALSE

Education / Re: Employers Of Labour In The House, Please Your Input Is Needed Here. by fabby26(m): 1:48pm On Jan 04, 2014
Though am not an Employer, but rather an employee, I think I have one or two things to add to this:
Getting the requisite skills needed for a job and in line with your Career will be an edge over others with only university degrees, and unfortunately many of such skills are not obtained at four walls of our institutions of higher learning, so you have to go extra miles to get it, since a fresh graduate has little or no job experience to start at entry-level in any organization or establishment. Employers of labour require skills, beyond your university paper certificate.

So start to know the skills needed for your line of course and equip yourself with it and leave what comes next in the hands of God.
Education / Re: Graduate Commits Suicide Over Girl by fabby26(m): 10:29am On Jan 04, 2014
ugonna1054: let the appropriate authorities investigate the actual cause of death.
And the kind of struggling might be the one in which he was trying to free himself off sb/sth..
There can also be a possibility of an actual suicide as u said using the handwriting on the suicide note as one cannot be coerced into writing one when he'she knows they will still be killed so??

You may still be right, like I said in my last post, not ruling out any possibility to that, but to my opinion, I think the guy was so obsessed with the love for the girl that prompted him to take his life, knowing that the girl's father would have never concede to their marriage. Who knows if both have not taken an oath, never to leave each other for someone else. This is just a SUICIDE! Well like you said let the appropriate authority look into the matter
Education / Re: Graduate Commits Suicide Over Girl by fabby26(m): 10:22am On Jan 03, 2014
ugonna1054: Didn't you guys read the observations from the ppl who brought d Dead man down
"He was foaming" meaning might av been poisoned by his killers before he was hanged by them nd 2.
"He struggled till he died" meaning if it were to be an actual suicide his death wud av been clean and smooth..so therefore I think that Guy was MURDERED probly by the girl's father or his enemies using the "suicide note"as an ALIBI
#FACT#He was killed and his killers made it look like a SUICIDE....NIGERIANS open thy EYES.
How can one kill himself most esp on NEW YEAR?

Let's analyse this, though not ruling out any possibility, how could the killers have written suicide note and sneaked in to drop at the victim's home according to the report. The handwriting of the victim will definitely tell you if it was the victim that wrote the suicide note or not.

Don't say one cannot kill himself in a New Year day, there's nothing new under the sun, it's never a new case, there had been many cases of such nature. The devil is very cunning and deceitful. There had been cases of people committing suicide over their loved dead pets, but all these are so unafrican.

Foaming in the mouth, must not only be due to poisioning, with the rope strangling both his carotid arteries around the neck region and shortening his breath due to constriction of the pharynx and salivary gland, he must have to struggle with death, there's tendency he may foam out saliva from the mouth.

But the guy is a COMPLETE COWARD, he would have owned up and brave up to convince the girl's father or even let go. Instead of taking his life

Don't mind her jare op, try colleges of education. Best of luck!

See how you degrade Colleges of Education, most Colleges of Education have upgraded their criteria for admission beyond this level o. Almost every academic bodies stick on 5 credit pass in core areas of subjects including English and Maths as their minimum criteria. Unless the person wants to relegate on courses he or she never bargained for and regret later. To the best of my knowledge, the person should improve more on his or her O' level or better still tell the Op which Colleges of Education in Nigeria accepts such result. CHIKINA

Akalia: UK is more racist;America is large multi socio-cultural and racial country, so over the years a peaceful and far reduced prejudiced co-existence of different peoples ve been nortured. Unlike UK.

You're absolutely correct, do you know the number of blacks in America compared to UK?. Even if you give me £500, to stay in UK, I would rather rest for $500 and stay in US. America, country where dreams are made of, and there's nothing you can't do. America here I come!

Most of these European countries, esp UK, though depends on location, like Great Britain and Wales, a lot of the white citizen suffer from what is called Xenophobia(fear of pple from other races, more esp blacks( of diff skin colour)(Negrophobia). There was once a case my aunt told me about a serial killer who murders blacks, just because of hatred and Xenophobia. Europeans are pure racist, Americans had learnt to blend, and majority of stars in America are of the African descent.

Thinking that being a graduate of Private uni gives you automatic employment is DAYDREAMING, unless you're talking of connection with some high profile people due to the fact that most parents of students in private Unis are politicians and must have connection to push their wards up the ladder, not based on merit then. But come to merit and due process, Public Unis rock

Education / Re: Notice To All Jambites by fabby26(m): 4:37pm On Dec 24, 2013
kdos: Following the words of the JAMB Registrar after the 2013 exercise, Prof Dibu Ojerinde said: “We have gone digital in JAMB.” What he meant by ‘going digital’ is that the Jamb 2014/2015 UTME examination is likely to be a Computer Based Test. to avoid surprises in the exam hall, we encourage participants to learn how to operate a computer system which is as simple as ABC. In the examination hall, your computer will be “timed” when it reached the allotted time, it will switch off, even if you have not answer any question! So the call to be fast is needed.

All admission seeking candidates in the Jamb 2014, mostly candidates within the South-Eastern environs are advice to make early registrations for the JAMB 2014/2015 UTME to avoid missing out on available centers. Last session (Jamb 2013), with the record number of 1.8 Million candidates who participated in the examination, Centres were exhausted in the within three months of registrations, and late registrants were pushed to the North, north east and north central zones of the country to take their examinations. (if you are not in the north, i know you don’t want to risk going to the North to write your jamb exam, due to the Boko Haram animals) A lot of candidates miss the last year jamb exercise due to this problem, so we encourage you to purchase the form as soon as possible.

Applicants who wrote the JAMB 2013/2014 UTME examination and selected the Paper and Pencil Type (PPT) were basically Victims of inefficiency of marking by the board, with majority of them, being forced to settle with scores that are not theirs, we therefore advice candidates applying for the JAMB 2014/2015 UTME to thread carefully, on what to type of exam to select, we recommend the Computer Based Test (CBT) and if you are good with computer, then there is no need to be scared of it. From last year experience, a lot of candidates who wrote last year jamb and choose CBT came out with flying colours. it is up to you which one you want to go for. But thread carefully…

From statistic, over 1.8 Million Nigerian Students registered and participated in the JAMB 2013/2014 UTME exercise, and not more than 450,000 of these students were admitted, together with over 1.2 million students leaving our various high schools, due to the low amount to candidates who are offered admission last year, we are very sure more than 2 million candidates will participate in the JAMB 2014-2015 UTME exams. We therefore advice candidates to prepare for the competitions. One way to beat it is to Jack your book (read your book).

The JAMB 2014 candidates are advised to stay away from the Most Selected Institutions as outlined below;
• University Of Lagos (Unilag)
• University Of Benin (Uniben)
• University Of Nigeria (UNN)
• University Of Ilorin (Unilorin)
• Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. (Unizik)
• Federal University of Technology, Owerri (Futo)
• University of Ibadan (UI)
• University of Port Harcourt (Uniport)

This are popular-one of the popular- institutions in Nigeria. The reason why we advice that you stay away from this universities is to boost your chances of admission, not because you are not intelligent, but because admission slots are very limited, the competition in these institutions is higher and if it is not your catchment area, then your chance of getting admitted is equal to zero. But still, if you must choose any of the above institutions, please also look for Universities that accept 2nd choice and that are not too competitive. Take note of this as you will remember it when Admission commence. Now success tips 6 will show us courses that are very competitive and why you have to ignore them…

All candidates seeking Admission into Tertiary Institutions via the JAMB 2014/2015 UTME exercise are advice to be very careful in their selection of courses, it is no news that the following courses have the highest number of applicants.
• Medicine And Surgery
• Economics
• Accounting
• Law/Civil Law
• Pharmacy etc.
• Mechanical Engr/civil/elect elect etc.

Selecting one of the above means you will be competing with thousands of candidates for the space, which is likely not up to hundreds in all the Institutions. But if you are however interested in any of the above courses, you must learn how to balance your selections appropriately to increase your chances of getting admitted. Ensure you also select courses that has few number of candidates, and by so ding, you can be sure of your Admission and if you so please, you can apply for change of course after been admitted. This is as to boost your chances of admission, not because you are not intelligent, but because slots are limited, competition is higher and you are getting older, plus, ASUU would make you age before time, hence, make hay while the sun shine.

It is important also that you know the accreditation status of the course(s) you want to apply for in the choice Institutions before submitting your application.

What is Accreditation of course?
Some university offer courses that has not been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), and if you end up in one of those departments, you would have wasted your years for nothing! Because you won’t be given any original certificate! For example; Medicine and Surgery has NOT been accredited in the Benue State University, BSUM and many others Universities, and candidates who is admitted into BSUM will end up spending 8+ years in vain.

How will you know if your course has been accredited in your choice institution?
You can know this from the Jamb 2014 Brochure that will be given to you when you purchase the Jamb 2014-2015 UTME Form. Also you can drop your comment and we will let you know if you are good to go.

Most Institutions requires a cut-off of 240 in the JAMB-UTME. (example of such institution is University of Ilorin) the minimum cut off for Medicine in Unilorin is 240 and 220+ for major courses, while admission at the University of Ibadan and Unilag begins with your O-Level results, therefore, its very important that you have the basic requirements of the Institution before applying for admission. In fact, this apply to almost all the Institutions in Nigeria. Ensure you have your COMPLETE O’LEVEL RESULTS for your chosen courses before buying Jamb, if you don’t have… you are only going to frustrate yourself. Even when you are admitted, you will be screen out after they collect your acceptance fee and school fee.

ecomerceguru: The people of Enugu North Senatorial Zone, (Nsukka), have joined the three workers’ union in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, to demand the immediate re-instatement of the former pro-chancellor, Dr. Emeka Enejere.

Throughout last week, all activities were grounded at the University by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, and the National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT.

The workers have been demanding the sack of the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bartho Okolo, who is being accused of corruption.

They have equally rejected the appointment of a new pro-chancellor, insisting that Enejere, who was suspended by the supervising minister of education, Nyesom Wike, must be recalled.

In an open letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, which was made available to journalists in Enugu on Sunday, the people of Nsukka zone said Enejere was suspended for insisting on due process in running the affairs of the University.

The letter entitled, “Removal of Emeka Enejere as Chairman, Governing Council, University of Nigeria, Nsukka”, and signed by the President General of Nsukka Town Union, Mr. Austin Alumonah called on Jonathan to stop Wike from destroying UNN.

UNN from frying pan to fire. Nawa oh
