Eta Mbora, who represents Calabar Municipal/Odukpani federal constituency of Cross River State in the lower chambers of the National Assembly has raised a bill seeking to provide automatic employment for graduates immediate after their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

Speaking with TheCable on Friday, the federal lawmaker stated that the idea behind the bill is to enable the military, paramilitary agencies and other special services recruit willing graduates immediately after they have completed the one-year youth service.

“At the conclusion of their service year, there should be a process where the agencies will examine those interested to determine their qualifications to be employed,” he said.

“They should be able to now enrol them after the completion of service; that is for those qualified. That way, it can address the unemployment problem and job scams in Nigeria.

“Those willing to join the military and paramilitary agencies and other special services should be able to do so since they have served their country.”

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has told audience in Lagos that he has never told a lie before.

The minister made this disclosure yesterday during an interactive session with journalists in Lagos.

The Minister also challenged those branding him a liar to present concrete facts disputing whatever he had said before.

Mohammed said: “I have two burdens. The first is that I happen to be the face of the opposition, and PDP has not forgiven me, and I do not think they will ever forgive me.
“I think they look at the magnitude of what has happened to them, and they hold me solely responsible; which is not fair.
“But, I did my bit. Now becoming the face of government again, it is automatic to them that whatever comes from Lai Mohammed, we must shoot it down as fake news and a lie
“Incidentally, my father gave me the name Lai, also. So, it makes it very easy for them to make me a liar. But what I challenge them every time is, please, give me one thing I said that is not true. I have never told lies before.

He added: “Emotionally, you may not agree with me, but in terms of facts and figures, I have never said anything that they can be disputed. You do not have to like it, but you cannot deny that they are facts.”

The lifeless body of a 78-year-old retired teacher was found in a hotel room in Nyamira County in Kenya.

The deceased, Saul Mokua from the neighbouring Bosamaro Chache, was last seen on Monday evening checking into the Club78 with a middle-aged woman.

The next day, the lifeless body of Mr. Saul was discovered in the hotel room with a packet of sex-enhancing pills allegedly found next to him.

Confirming the incident, Johnson Manyara, the Township Sub location Chief said: “we found what looked like sex enhancing pills besides the body and it is suspected the deceased might have taken an overdose.”

But relatives of the late teacher debunked the sex-enhancing pills report and said he had a history of high blood pressure.

According to Nairobi News, the body of the deceased was taken to Kinara hospital mortuary in Nyamira, where an autopsy will be carried out. But it's yet unclear if any arrest has been made.

About two weeks ago, the video came back into circulation, creating panic in the polity. The intention of those behind it is simple: to create tension and panic in the country.

The minister also pointed out some fake news he claimed was passed off through social media and they include; President Buhari will be traveling to the United Kingdom for 20 days before proceeding to Saudi Arabia and Austria; Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi was attacked at Rigasa train station in Kaduna and that the Nigerian Air Force killed 250 Boko Haram insurgents.

Filmmaker Rick Boss recently began production on a movie set to uncover the truth about Tupac Shakur. According to Boss, he believes Tupac escaped the fateful shooting and is now hiding out in New Mexico.

Ever since Tupac Shakur was shot dead in ’96, tons of conspiracy theories have purported that the rapper survived. Older rumors called into question Tupac’s autopsy report, suggesting the images leaked to the public were of someone else. They even went as far as to claim some unfortunate soul was tattooed identically to Tupac, and that’s rather substantial work.

While theories on the rapper’s fate have never been debunked, Tupac hasn’t made a single appearance since. Even if he were in hiding, the age of technology we live in makes it impossible for anyone to stay off the grid forever. Hiding out would be especially difficult for a star like Tupac. And he’d be caught on social media eventually.

However, filmmaker Rick Boss has resurfaced with new claims of Tupac being alive, and his argument sounds rather compelling.

As Page Six reports, Boss alleges that Tupac got tipped off before the fateful assassination attempt on September 7, 1996. A body double was supposedly in the car with Suge Knight during the shooting, playing the unwitting victim. Tupac then accompanied the double to UMC hospital where he later escaped via helicopter.

Boss is exploring the potential cover-up in a documentary titled 2Pac: The Great Escape From UMC. The movie is in production and slated for release in 2021. Keep in mind that a lot can happen in a year.

For now, Boss’s film is a hot topic because it claims Tupac is living on Native American tribal land. That’s a convenient explanation for why the rapper hasn’t been seen in 25 years, but all it would take is one member of the tribe to snap a photo of Shakur, and the image would go viral.

Until the information can be verified, fans should take it with a grain of salt. That doesn’t mean Boss is incorrect, but fans should hear the filmmaker out before scouring tribal lands for the deceased rapper.

Unfortunately for Boss, even the main star of his film believes Tupac died on that fateful night. Richard Garcia, the actor portraying the late rapper in Boss’s movie, has stated that he thinks Tupac is gone. Garcia’s comments don’t help Boss’s case, but again, fans will have to wait until the story plays out on the big screen before making a decision.

Still, the more intriguing aspect to consider is what would happen if Tupac was actually hiding out in New Mexico. Media outlets would obviously go crazy covering the news, there are a ton of questions fans want answers to, and authorities would also want to interrogate the rapper.

The reason Tupac would have to answer to authorities is the circumstances surrounding his death. Faking one’s death is illegal, but if Tupac was facing a real assassination attempt, an acquittal is likely. Proper law enforcement would have to examine the case thoroughly, but based on all the credible threats Tupac received, he’d have good reason to fake his death.

Whatever happens, hopefully, the increased interest will lead to a new investigation. Forensic technology has also come a long way, meaning old evidence could potentially hold more clues that answer the longstanding question: Is Tupac alive?

A British woman has opened up about her past relationships and her obsession with sex addiction.

The lady named, Frankie Considine claims to have slept with 130 men by the age of 28, including having four guys in the space of 24 hours on her 21st birthday

During her struggles with sex addiction, the model who lost her virginity at the age of 14 would call in sick at work and cancel plans with friends to have sex.

When her mom died following a year-long cancer battle, Frankie ended her relationship and began to have sex with random people.

Over the next three years, the model believes she slept with 80 men, some of which were one-night stands, while others were through multiple hook-ups.

Six months after having the child, Frankie and her partner broke up and so she started seeing a therapist before she was then diagnosed with sex addiction at the age of 26.

She explained: “There is so much stigma around being a sex addict. People think it’s an excuse, but we aren’t sl*ts. It’s a genuine illness.”

The mother on one whose life has been transformed says she is now reserved, and wouldn’t want to have sex straight away when she starts seeing someone again.

Frankie concluded: “I’m very reserved now. If I’m seeing someone, I don’t want to have sex straight away. If they initiate it or want to talk about it, they almost get blocked from my phone – I’m that fearful. I’m scared if I sleep with them too soon, will I go back down the spiral?”

A lady who attempted to kidnap her friend’s mother has been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police command.

Paulina Santos who was paraded before newsmen on Wednesday February 19, was accused of planning the kidnap of the mother of her friend whose husband works with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC).

The State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bola Longe revealed that the lady who is a casual staff in a primary healthcare facility, lives in Azuba Bashayi of Lafia North local government area. He said she contacted someone to help her organize a criminal gang to execute the task, with a plan of extracting a large sum from the kidnap.

Longe said;

On February 11, at about 2030hrs, based on credible intelligence, police operatives attached to the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping section busted and subsequently arrested one Paulina Santos ‘f’ who had conceived a disingenuous plan to kidnap the mother of her bosom friend.”

He further disclosed that the suspect has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court after investigation has been concluded.

Even in this “exclusively” European enterprise, the hidden hand of Islam lurks in the background.

Islam’s history with the West has been one of unwavering antagonism and seismic clashes, often initiated by the former. By the standards of history, nothing between the two civilizations is as well documented as this long war. Accordingly, for more than a millennium, both educated and not so educated Europeans knew—the latter perhaps instinctively—that Islam was a militant creed that for centuries attacked and committed atrocities in their homelands, all in the name of “holy war,” or jihad.

These facts have been radically “updated” in recent times. According to the dominant narrative—as upheld by mainstream media and Hollywood, pundits and politicians, academics and “experts” of all stripes—Islam was historically progressive and peaceful, whereas premodern Europe was fanatical and predatory.

Whatever else can be said about such topsy-turvy claims—and there is much—they beg the question: if such a formerly well-known, well-documented and atrocity-laden history could be revised in a manner that presents its antithesis as the truth—with little objection or challenge—what then of Islam’s more subtle but also negative influences on history, the sort that, unlike the aforementioned centuries of violence vis-à-vis Europe, are not copiously documented or readily obvious but require serious historical investigation?

Take Islam’s role in facilitating the transatlantic slave trade—which otherwise is almost always presented as an exclusively European enterprise.

Slavery is, of course, as old as humanity. Centuries before the coming of Islam, Europeans—Athenians, Spartans, Romans—were fully engaged in the slave trade. With the coming of Christianity, and as it spread all throughout the Roman and post-Roman empire (circa. fourth-seventh centuries), the institution of slavery was on its way to becoming extinct.

Then Islam came. While hardly the first to exploit human flesh, it was the best at perfecting and thriving on it in the post classical, medieval, premodern, and even modern eras—with untold millions of non-Muslims enslaved throughout the centuries (one source indicates that 15 million Europeans were alone enslaved).

As usual, it was only natural for those near and in constant contact with Islam to be infected by the same vice of dehumanizing—and thus taking advantage of—the “other.” After all, the few instances of Christians in Europe buying and selling slaves are largely limited to the long war with Islam. Malta’s Knights of Saint John, for instance, responded to Islamic slave raids by enslaving the raiders and other Muslims. Similarly, those Europeans who first became involved in the African slave trade, the Spanish and Portuguese, also just so happened to be the ones who for centuries lived side by side with—often in violence and themselves enslaved to—Muslims (those of al-Andalus).

Islamic slave raids into Africa began in the mid to late seventh century; then, according to Muslim records, astronomical numbers of Africans—in the millions—were enslaved in the name of jihad. By the time seafaring Europeans reached the coasts of West Africa, the Islamic slave trade was bustling.

While most Western historians are aware that it was African “tribesmen” who captured and sold enemy tribesmen to Europeans, left unmentioned is that the “tribal” differences often revolved around who was and was not Muslim.

As John Alembillah Azumah, an African academic and author of The Legacy of Arab-Islam in Africa, explained in an interview:

Slavery was a very important part of Islamic expansion in West Africa, and in fact in the Sudan, and from the very earliest period of Islamic penetration of Africa. … Slavery was a very endemic part of Islamic interaction with Africa. And in West Africa, the jihad’s period of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries involved massive slave raiding and slave trading; and many of the slaves that were captured and sold and sent to the transatlantic slave trade [were captured by Muslims]; most of those who were doing the slaving at the time were Muslim communities (emphasis added).

A look at historic maps seems to confirm this: the western coast of Africa, where captives were enslaved and sold to Europeans, were hotbeds of jihadi slave raids. The populations from Senegal to Angola—the regions where arguably most African-Americans trace their bloodlines—were roughly half Islamic, half pagan between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries.

More to the point, if today, when slavery has been formally abolished around most of the world, Muslim groups are still subsisting on the slave trade all throughout Africa—“Slavery Prevalent in Africa 400 Years After Transatlantic Trade Began” is a recent headline—the role Muslims played in facilitating the transatlantic slave trade should be evident.

Unfortunately, however, and as mentioned, if the obvious things of Islamic history—such as more than a millennium of unprovoked jihadi attacks on Europe—have been revised in a manner that presents the antithesis as truth, surely Islam’s more insidious or subtle role throughout history, such as its facilitation of the transatlantic slave trade, will remain unheard of.

As such, here is a general rule of thumb to help cut through all fake, pro-Islamic histories: to know what Islam did in the past, simply look to what it is doing in the present, which includes a thriving underground—and of course aboveground—slave market.

Meanwhile, Europeans/Christians—who were actually the ones to outlaw slavery internationally—will continue to be the blame all for this tragic episode of history.

A 50 year old man has been arrested in Ibusa, Delta state for allegedly defiling a 9 year old girl.

Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who effected his arrest, said the man accosted the little girl while she was out on an errand for her parents, took her to an uncompleted building where he allegedly defiled her and then gave her N20 to buy biscuit.

A young girl aged 9 was sexually molested by a 50-year old man who lives in the same street with the victim.

The victim went on an errand to fetch water for her parents when the man called her and convinced her to follow him into a vacant apartment.

On reaching the said apartment, the man pulled the victim’s clothes and also stripped himself naked and threatened to kill the young girl if she screams…

He dipped his fingers into her vagina severally to create room for expansion, laid on her and inserted his penis and defiled the young girl after which he gave her N20 to get biscuits as a means to pacify her.

Victim’s mother noticed she was acting strange and on further questioning, she opened up and told her parents how the old man defiled her.

Behind Bars Human Right Foundation got tipped on the incidence by a member who saw the victim on arrival to the hospital where she was taken for medical care and immediately swung into action.

We arrested the man and handed over to Divisional Police Headquarters Ibusa. He wWill be charged to court and made to pay for this heinous crime on the minor.

According to the anonymous lady who messaged relationship cousellor Abena Magis Manokekame, she sacrificed for this particular guy but he has become an ingrate.

A Twitter user @Gracie_oguns has said that all she needs from a man is for him to give her 60% of his income monthly and she’ll fine content.

She went on to quiz that “is that too much to ask ?”

“I need a man that will love me enough to give me 60% of his income monthly, is that too much to ask ?”

Her comments have generated a lot of buzz on social media.

One of her followers replied that even God requires only 10% of his children’s income and how much more her a ‘common’ mortal.

It seems Yemi Alade still has some grudges to solve with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie after she revealed the Ghanaian rapper once ignored her when she tried reaching out to shoot a video for “Ego”, off her second album “Mama Africa”.

In an interview in 2017, the Alade singer said:
“I can count three different countries and three different venues where my team and I had an agreement with the artiste [Sarkodie] in particular and he didn’t come through,”

“I’ve really tried my best to really not go into details but the long and short on why I don’t want to dwell on this is that is super unfair, unprofessional and unkind for international acts or even artistes to have a dealing with anybody and after agreeing to certain things, you don’t come through at all.”

The singer followed her disappointment up by unfollowing the BET Award winner on Twitter.

From Sarkodie’s post, he was not aware he had been unfollowed by the Nigerian even though he made a tweet hyping Yemi Alade’s new music video featuring legend Angelique Kidjo.

Though the Nigerian acknowledge Sarkodie’s act, she still failed to follow him. This got Sarkodie to ask his army on twitter to plead to the songstress on his behalf.

He tweeted ”

Nigerian singer, Runtown wants everyone to know that celebrities/public figures are also human beings and should be treated like one.

The singer took to his Twitter page to thrash the notion that celebrities are perfect superhuman beings. According to him, celebrities represent their excellence through their art but with the fame and fortune, they are still very much humans like the rest of us. He explained that sometimes, their flaws are made public and he expects every human to treat them the same way they would do to themselves.

Runtown added that celebrities should be forgiven the same forgiveness that every other human would give his/herself. He wrote: “We might be celebrities and represent excellence through our art. But we are very much like you, and sometimes, our flaws are made public, just like yours. That’s when we expect you to be human too, and to give us the same forgiveness you give yourself for failing.
