SportsKobe Bryant’s Widow, Vanessa Breaks Silence On Husband, Daughter’s Death by faith2kool(op): 2:10pm On Jan 30, 2020
Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa has finally broken her silence and released her first official statement since the helicopter crash that killed her husband, wife and seven others on Sunday.

Sharing a family photo, the wife of the late NBA star player wrote:

“My girls and I want to thank the millions of people who’ve shown support and love during this horrific time. Thank you for all the prayers. We definitely need them. We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband, Kobe — the amazing father of our children; and my beautiful, sweet Gianna — a loving, thoughtful, and wonderful daughter, and amazing sister to Natalia, Bianka, and Capri.
We are also devastated for the families who lost their loved ones on Sunday, and we share in their grief intimately. There aren’t enough words to describe our pain right now. I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved. We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives. I wish they were here with us forever. They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon.

I’m not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it’s impossible to imagine life without them. But we wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way. Our love for them is endless — and that’s to say, immeasurable. I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them. Have them here with us, forever. Thank you for sharing your joy, your grief and your support with us. We ask that you grant us the respect and privacy we will need to navigate this new reality.
To honor our Team Mamba family, the Mamba Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund to help support the other families affected by this tragedy. To donate, please go to MambaOnThree.org.
To further Kobe and Gianna’s legacy in youth sports, please visit MambaSportsFoundation.org. Thank you so much for lifting us up in your prayers, and for loving Kobe, Gigi, Natalia, Bianka, Capri and me. #Mamba #Mambacita #GirlsDad #DaddysGirls #Family ❤️“

Nairaland GeneralWoman Banned From Getting Pregnant After Having 44 Kids At 36 Years by faith2kool(op): 10:54pm On Jan 17, 2020
A woman in Uganda has been banned from having more kids after her forty fourth(44th) child.

Mariam Nabatanzi got married at age 12 to a 40 year old man. She gave birth to twins the following year. But due to a genetic condition that led her to having unusually large ovaries that produced multiple eggs per cycle, Mariam had plenty of babies per pregnancy.

She gave birth to a total of six sets of twins, four sets of triplets, and five sets of quadruplets. All in all, she had 15 pregnancies, all with multiple births that resulted to a total of 44 babies.

She lost six babies in childbirth but had to take care of the rest of her 38 children.

Doctors had no choice than to ban Mariam from getting pregnant again.

Acknowledging that the ban is for her own good, Mariam actually felt happy that she is finally free.

She admitted that she had asked doctors to help her out after the first few pregnancies, but she was told that birth control pills might actually lead to other health complications because of her genetic condition.

Downside of overexposure of children without proper control measure. During your time, there are few radio stations, a couple of TV stations, land line phones, no internet and every mature man in your hood is referred to as 'daddy' and partly responsible for your moral upbringing. Today, we all know of what's happening in the U.S. right now, we have mothers rooting for Tacha and fathers rooting for Mercy while the children can steal away from bed to see if Gedoni is going to try and do Khafi tonight. If your EFCC is not after your daddy for sharp practices, then SARS are after your uncle either for involving cult activities or being a Yahoo boy. PoliticsI’m Searching For New Wife – Ibrahim Babangida Announces by faith2kool(op): 5:59pm On Dec 28, 2019
Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, rtd, has announced that he is in search of a new wife.

Describing the kind of woman that will suit him at this stage of his life, IBB said he will not take a wife much younger than him because that will be a problem for the woman and for himself (IBB)

Speaking with The Sun, the former Head of State, however, expressed the fear that the new wife may not be able to live the way he lived with his late wife and former First Lady, Maryam.

Asaba Delta-born Maryam died on Sunday, December 27, 2009, succumbing to ovarian cancer at the University of California’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, Los Angeles. She died at the age of 61.

IBB said, “Yes, I am quite sure. I’m searching and I’m hoping. But the longer I wait, maybe, the more problematic it becomes.

“If it drags, I would be too old and the whole idea of having a partner would seem to diminish. But I will make sure [I have a partner] before reaching that stage.

“If somebody is in the corner, you could organize that in three or six months.

“And because it must be somebody you have known for a long time, or somebody you have been in contact with for a long time, you don’t just tell them look this is for marriage.

“But as time passes, and relationship building continues, it could end up in marriage.

“However, I have to be fair in my search. I really want to be fair. For instance, you don’t expect me to take a wife much younger than I am because that will be a problem for her and for me.

“I have to be fair. Secondly, I do wonder if she (the chosen one) would be able to live the way Maryam and I did, which is not easy these days. So, I keep on praying; and I think it will happen.”

EducationNigerian Hard For The Poor – ASUU President, Ogunyemi by faith2kool(op): 5:39pm On Dec 28, 2019
National President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, on Wednesday stated that the poor and the downtrodden in Nigeria have nothing to celebrate.

Ogunyemi stated that the situation in the country had made life unbearable for the Nigerian masses, while the few rich continue to be enrich themselves at the expense of the majority.

The ASUU President stated this in a message sent to members of the union to mark this year’s Christmas.

While urging members of the union to look back with thanksgiving, Ogunyemi asked them to prepare for challenges ahead in the New Year.

According to Ogunyemi, worsening state of the Nigerian economy had hit the poor masses below the belt and made the yuletide period meaningless.

He noted that celebration was more meaningful when the ordinary Nigerians have access to qualitative education, healthcare and other good things of life.

“Comrades and compatriots, as we join the rest of the world for the Christmas and New Year holidays, let’s look back with thanksgiving and prepare for the challenges of the future.

“The season of love reminds us of our obligations to the poor and downtrodden.

“Its celebration is more meaningful when the ordinary Nigerians have access to qualitative education, healthcare, and other good things of life. Happy holidays, as the struggle continues,” he said.

PoliticsBuhari Has Damaged Nigeria’s International Reputation Over Sowore’s Rearrest by faith2kool(op): 12:45am On Dec 26, 2019
John Campbell, a former United States Ambassador to
Nigeria has berated the Buhari-led administration over his dictatorial government, stated that he has condemned Nigeria’s worldwide reputation with the rearrest of Omoyele Sowore in his announcement titled: “Buhari’s Dictatorial Past and the Rule of Law Today in Nigeria”

The diplomat also spoke about the danger ahead of the press following Punch Newspaper’s editorial on prefixing President Buhari’s title with his rank as a military dictator and referring to his administration as a “regime” as a symbolic demonstration of their protest against the President’s alleged autocracy and military-style repression.

The statement released by Campbell who served as U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria from May 12, 2004, to July 19, 2007, was published on the website of the Council on

Foreign Relations and it reads in part;

“The state security service assault on a courtroom and the re-arrest of Sowore has already damaged the country’s international reputation.
“Buhari is not surprising, but it is worth noting that Zakzaky and Dasuki are both northern Muslims. What is different this time is the parallelism between military rule and Buhari’s civilian administration.
“Nigeria’s foreign friends will be hoping that the government takes no move to limit Punch’s freedom of expression.

The SSS assault on a court room and the re-arrest of Sowore has already damaged the country’s international reputation.
“The Sowore re-arrest is consolidating opposition to the president by civil society, the press, international opinion and now religious leaders. It is to be hoped that the Buhari administration is looking actively for a way to defuse the Sowore issue, perhaps by allowing him to return to the United States.”

Celebrities2 Pac Is Still Alive - Former Bodyguard Open Up by faith2kool(op): 7:34pm On Dec 23, 2019
Tupac’s Former Bodyguard ‘Who Helped Rapper Fake His Death’ Claims He Has Proof The Rapper Never Died

Tupac’s former bodyguard claims he has proof the rapper faked his death. Michael Nice was reported to have died last year, but he has revealed he faked his own death in a video to prove it can be done. He says he has proof Tupac is still alive too. Michael, who was Tupac’s former bodyguard, made headlines when he claimed Tupac had been smuggled into Cuba with the help of former President Fidel Castro after the drive by shooting that police said claimed his life. He promised to release evidence. However, in December last year, it was reported that Michael Nice had died just days before he was due to release evidence that proved Tupac is still alive. Now, Michael has revealed that he faked his own death. In a video posted to YouTube, he says that he did what he did to evade his enemies.

He says: “My name’s Michael Nice. I faked my death on the 18th of December, 2018 and I’m here today, back from the dead to show why and how I faked my death. I’m going to put the record straight.” Speaking from an unknown location, he continues: “I know it’s a shock to all the people who know me but I’m back, I’m back to explain everything. I confess I faked my death and I feel quite ashamed about it but it had to be done and I’m here now to explain the reasons why.” Michael says the fact that he faked his own death proves that he also helped Tupac fake his death because he’s got the “experience” required to pull it off. He says: “I’ve done it again with myself. It proves that I’ve got those capabilities.” Michael also says he had been receiving threats and that if he hadn’t faked his death when he did he would have been dead by now anyway. Michael says he arranged for an ambulance to collect him after he faked his death and that he’d used a magic trick he learned as a youngster to stop his pulse so that when a paramedic checked him they believed he was dead. He says his “body” was taken to the hospital and that his contacts in the funeral home business arranged to pick him up and switch him out for an actual dead body which was taken to the morgue. He says he then made his escape and that he couldn’t believe how smoothly it all went. Michael goes on: “I laid low for a year and I’m back now to tell my story, put things straight and get on with the mission. “There’s only one thing I can guarantee out of all of this, it doesn’t matter whether you believe it or not, retribution is coming.”

RomanceWife Dumps Husband Because He Deny Her Of Sex by faith2kool(op): 7:14pm On Dec 23, 2019
A PROPHET with Apostolic Devine Church in Lupaka, Lupane sobbed in court after his wife of six years vowed to dump him for allegedly starving her of sex and turning her into a punching bag.

Lastwell Nkomo (42) was dragged to Lupane Civil Court by his aggrieved wife Sithokozile Nkomo (36), who was seeking a dissolution of their marriage, saying her union with Lastwell was now hell.

She laid her heart bare before Lupane magistrate Ndumo Masuku.

Sithokozile, whose name literally means being happy, said she was no longer happy in her marriage because Lastwell does not want to have sex with her.

“Your worship, I’m fed up with this marriage because my husband has become a monster as he is fond of bashing me when I ask why he no longer sleeps with me. I have told him on several occasions that prayer and fasting don’t sexually satisfy me but I need him to sleep with me.”

Sithokozile was not done yet as she further revealed that her husband spends most of the time on the mountains praying at her expense.

“He spends most of the time on the mountains praying and fasting. When he comes home in the evening he would refuse to sleep with me saying he does not want to defile himself since he is on a prayer and fasting programme. He has been doing that for the past four months, “she said.

What incensed Sithokozile is that she found used condoms in her husband’s trouser’s pockets.

“When I was doing washing I saw used condoms in the pockets of his trousers. I asked him about it, but he claimed he does not know anything about them. Since then when he comes home from a beer binge in the evening he would accuse me saying I’m a sex maniac. After that he would hit me with clenched fists accusing me of infidelity. Due to that I’m fed up and I want this marriage to be dissolved and be given custody of our three children because I’m gainfully employed and he is not,” she said.

Lastwell took to the stand: “I still love my wife. I appeal to this court to help me talk to her not to leave me. I blame all this on prayer and fasting that I embarked on. Being a prophet demands one to always seek the presence of God. I’m very sorry, kindly forgive me. I vow to change,” he said while wiping away tears.

Magistrate ordered Lastwell not to physically and sexually abuse his wife. He also ordered the couple to go for counselling.

PoliticsObasanjo, Babangida, Tinubu, Adeboye, Atiku Will Answer God – Fani-kayode by faith2kool(op): 5:46pm On Dec 22, 2019
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi-Fani-Kayode, has lambasted Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Pastor Adeboye Ibrahim Babangida and T.Y Danjuma for helping President Muhammadu Buhari to become Nigeria’s President in 2015.

In a statement made available to tigblog on Sunday, Fani-Kayode noted that these are the leaders that destroyed Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode further said that due to their poor judgement hundreds of thousands have been killed in the last 4 years and so many lives and families have been decimated and destroyed.

According to him, the blood of these innocent souls and victims screams from the earth and is crying to God in Heaven for vengeance.

The statement reads,

“I am conversant with much of world history yet I have NEVER read or heard of a people that are more comfortable with tyranny and bondage and pleased with poverty and suffering than Nigerians.”

“Push a Nigerian to the wall and rather than fight back he will dig a hole into it to escape.”

“Consider Gen. T.Y. Danjuma. He still can’t find the balls to speak the truth and reveal all yet he is complaining about others! He more than any other helped put the north in power on July 29th 1966. He also supported Buhari in 2015.”

“Someone please tell him that Nigerians have already lost their sleep and that he should speak up NOW & free us from the bondage that he helped put us in.”

“Obasanjo, Danjuma, Babangida, Tinubu, Adeboye, Atiku and all the others that helped put Buhari in power in 2015 and destroy Nigeria will answer to God for what they did.”

“Due to their poor judgement hundreds of thousands have been killed in the last 4 years and so many lives and families have been decimated and destroyed. The blood of these innocent souls and victims screams from the earth and is crying to God in Heaven for vengeance.”

“We must be bold enough to speak the truth and the truth is that Buhari is not our only problem but all those who colluded with him and conspired to put him in power in 2015.”

“We warned them over and over again yet they refused to listen, insulted us, ridiculed our concerns and fears and stubbornly and blindly insisted on putting a beast in power. Now they are ALL complaining!”

“As a people Nigerians have nothing to lose anymore. We have lost it all already but we just don’t know it or want to accept it!”

“Our nation, our freedom, our pride, our dignity, our honor and our self-esteem: all gone! The only thing that we have left to fear is fear itself and death: yet to die is Christ and to live is gain! “

“I urge my people to shed their FEARS and to find the courage to stand up and speak truth to power! I urge them to be the men and women that they were destined to be and not to accept that tyranny of tyrants or to be part of a colony of slaves.”

“It is time to make a choice between freedom and servitude. It is time to choose between light and darkness. I have made that choice and I urge you to join me: I would rather live free for a short period of time and make a difference than live a slave for one thousand years!”

“I don’t have any holiday home anywhere. I don’t have a house anywhere but I know people who are working for me…they have houses in London.”

“But you see, a lot of people, even the younger ones, we need to be very careful because one of biggest issues with us as Africans is that we spend our projected incomes.

“Once you start doing business [and] it starts doing well, but rather than for you to invest more in the business, you start spending thinking that profit will continue to come.

“There are ups and downs in business so you need to be very focused.”

Asked of his opinion on areas young entrepreneurs should invest in, Dangote replied:

“The sectors to focus on now are ICT and agriculture. These are the 2 promising sectors.”

If Igbo’s Have Functional Sea Port In Igbo Land, An Igbo Business Man Can Feed And Cloths A Senators – Obasanjo Told Buhari

Many Igbo feel politically and economically marginalised, and the government’s hardline stance is not helping.

50 years after Nigeria’s then Eastern Region declared itself the Republic of Biafra, sparking a brutal and costly three-year civil war, the country again faces a separatist challenge. Across the Igbo south east, there is resurgent agitation for an independent Biafra state.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s forceful response to the agitation has been counter-productive, inflaming passions and boosting separatist sentiments. The government needs to change course and prioritise dialogue over coercion.

The starting point of any response is to understand the agitation’s roots. They include political and economic grievances, a deep sense of collective victimisation among the Igbo, and the failure of south east politicians to provide good governance and development.

[Biafra 50 years on: Remembering, regretting, repeating history?]

Roots of the agitation

Separatists contend that since the Biafra War, the Igbo, one of the country’s three major ethnic groups, have been marginalised. They note that no Igbo has been elected to lead the country since Nnamdi Azikiwe’s ceremonial presidency in the 1960s or to be vice president since Alex Ekwueme (1979 to 1983).

This persisted even under military rule. The only Igbo head of state in this period, Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, was killed after only seven months.

Administrative structures decreed by northern-led military governments have also undermined the region. Of the country’s six geo-political zones, all but the south east contain either six or seven states. The south east has just five, while it accounts for only 96 of Nigeria’s 774 local governments. Representation in government and the flow of federal resources are based on these administrative units.

Today, the south east, like much of the country, suffers deficient and dilapidated infrastructure and widespread youth unemployment. But many believe this is structural. They point out that as federal revenue allocation is based on number of states and local governments, the south east receives the least of all zones.

Unequal treatment

Under Buhari, political grievances have deepened. With no Igbo heading any of the military and security services, many argue the region has no voice in key organs such as the National Defence Council (NDC).

“We are like second class citizens, of the same status as a colonised people, except that this is internal colonialism, caliphate colonialism”, asserted a retired Igbo military officer.

The situation has also been aggravated by Buhari’s statement shortly after coming to power that “constituencies that gave me 97% cannot in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies that gave me 5%”.

To many in the south east, who mostly voted for former president Goodluck Jonathan, that statement raised fears that the president would not accord them equal treatment with the north.

They now see their fears confirmed by some government actions. For example, when the domestic intelligence agency the Department of State Services recruited recently, it hired just 44 new employees from the south east compared to 165 from the north west. Similarly, the south east is nearly completely excluded from a proposed national railway development plan.

Victims of history

Along with political and economic grievances, separatist agitation is driven by a strong feeling of collective victimisation. In 1949, the prominent Igbo leader Nnamdi Azikiwe asserted “it would appear that God has specially created the Ibo people to suffer persecution and be victimised because of their resolute will to live”.

Almost 50 years later, another distinguished Igbo, Chinua Achebe, claimed that “Nigerians of all other ethnic groups will probably achieve consensus on no other matter than their common resentment of the Igbo”.

These feelings have been deepened over the decades by recurrent rioting in the north in which Igbo have suffered great losses. Mostly notably, over 30,000 Igbo in the north were killed and two million fled back to the south in 1966 in the “Igbo pogrom” that followed the January coup and July counter-coup.

During the Biafra War, all other groups rallied round the federal government. The conflict killed about two million people, mostly Igbo, and more died during post-war riots and conflicts in the north.

Some northern leaders have argued that the Igbo were targeted because of their entrepreneurial success not their ethnicity, but such explanations offer no consolation. As one Igbo civil society leader said, the current separatist agitation is “a rejection of the Nigerian state by a group that feels already rejected by that state”.

South-eastern governance failures also fuel unrest. Local political leaders have largely failed to harness the region’s resources, create sustainable employment and engage youth.

As the president-general of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze, Nnia Nwodo said, Igbo youth “have passed a vote of no confidence in us their fathers”. The agitation therefore represents not only a protest against the state but a rift within Igbo society.

Flawed responses

Successive government responses have been generally intolerant and combative. The government generally lumps the separatist movement together with Boko Haram and the militant Yoruba group the O’odua People’s Congress (OPC) as “extremist groups” threatening national security.

Under President Olusegun Obasanjo, the administration arrested the leader of the Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, charged him with treason and detained him from 2005 to 2007. Police clashed with MASSOB members repeatedly, killing many.

President Buhari’s government has been similarly intolerant. In November 2015, he issued a “serious warning” that: “The corporate existence of Nigeria as a single entity is not a subject of debate and will not be compromised”. On another occasion, he said: “For Nigeria to divide now…it is better for all of us to jump into the sea and get drowned”.

Following from this hardline stance, security agencies shut down the unlicensed radio station, Radio Biafra, operated by the separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). They have banned pro-Biafran newspapers, arresting and brutalising non-compliant vendors. These measures have driven many publications off the streets, but have not curbed the even more vigorous social media.

Security agencies have also broken up rallies and meetings, killing and arresting scores. An Amnesty International report alleged that security forces murdered at least 150 agitators between August 2015 and August 2016. The army rejected the report, but separatists say the number of deaths was even higher.

In January 2017, when agitators organised a rally in “solidarity” with new US President Donald Trump, police reportedly killed 11 participants and arrested more than 65. Many are still in jail.

The government also arrested IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu in October 2015. He was arraigned and granted bail, but despite court orders for his release, he was held in prison until April 2017. Kanu’s prolonged detention turned him into a hero and increased IPOB membership.

Outlook for the future

The agitation’s future trajectory is unclear. Much depends on the federal government. Further repression will earn the separatists more local sympathy and support and could push them to more desperate actions. If there is no progress towards constitutional, administrative and policy reforms that would respond to the demands of the south east, the agitation could escalate.

Further demonstrations and government crackdowns could further strain the already over-stretched security forces, diverting resources needed to fight Boko Haram and insecurity elsewhere.

Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has counselled the government to ask the agitators: “What are those things we can do to make you content, to make you feel part of this entity [Nigeria]… What can we do to make them feel that they belong and are not alienated?” The federal government should heed that sage’s advice.

In the short term, the government should refrain from further threats of “crushing” the agitation and free unconditionally the hundreds of protestors currently imprisoned. It should also reassure all regions it will allocate resources and develop infrastructure equitably.

In the longer term, the National Assembly should resume its stalled constitution review and pass provisions that would guarantee all citizens a stronger sense of national belonging and redress the imbalance in administrative units between the zones. This is a key demand of south easterners and one already endorsed by the leaders of most other zones.

The leaders of the south east must also respond to their region’s needs by focusing on economic development and curbing massive youth unemployment. The south east governors’ recent initiative towards integrated regional development is a welcome step that should be pursued vigorously.

50 years after the south east attempted to break away, the country remains fragile. Its democracy is still unstable, as demonstrated by the recent coup rumours as President Buhari is reportedly very ill.

[Nigeria: Coup rumours reflect rising distrust in Buhari’s absence]

At a 25 May colloquium on Biafra: 50 years after in Abuja, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo said the greatest responsibility of Nigerian leaders today is to give a pathway to unity in diversity. The country’s leaders must work harder to build bridges, close cleavages, and achieve a more cohesive country.

If they fail, separatist agitations will grow even stronger.

There Was Never A Time We Were Colonized By An ARAB Country Neither Do We Speak Any Arabic Language, Now my Question Is: Why Do We Have Arabic Written On ALL Nigeria Note Currencies? – Bishop Oyedepo

Report has it that Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church has once again poured out his heart over the ongoing killings in some parts of the country.

The fiery preacher lamented how people now value cows more than human lives.

Speaking during one of the church’s programs monitored by our reporter, he fired at the killers and their sponsors, stating that among other things, self-defense is the right of every Nigerian.

His speech below…

We are on the verge of an outburst. These Islamists are not relenting. And cursed be anyone from any quarters backing these wanton killings in Nigeria. Cursed be their roots and their generations.

Not one herdsman has been accosted. Even when they were brutal enough to announce. They are poised for war but it will be in their own house.

Everybody, whether in government or out of government, any demonic agent that’s after the destruction of this nation, the Lord God destroy them and their household.

Eleven villages were sacked in Plateau and by now since this their callous acts started, 52 villages are empty…. when there is no war! Cursed be all forces behind this wanton killings!

If i be a man of God, let the fire of divine vengeance fall upon their head! Join in this warfare prayer, they won’t know where the war is coming from but they won’t wake up in the morning…and the Christians are their targets.

In the name of Jesus, divine vengeance will target them and bring them down.

We are told from the News that ISIS has found their way to Nigeria. Whatever channel they came from, they will return from that same channel.

The Angels of God will fight all the enemies of this nation. War shall not break out in Nigeria, it will break out in their own houses and take them off one by one. Curse these operators and their backers, curse them in the name of the Lord.

Nigeria is not a Fulani republic, let every devil be concerned. I will never become one. We didn’t sign a deal to live together as a Fulani Republic.

Everybody that carries that thought and wants to implement it, the power of God will bring them down. Now in Nigeria, cows are more valuable than human lives. Authority claims they haven’t found anybody to claim responsibility when it was announced.

The world’s oldest couple is celebrating their 80th wedding anniversary proving that true love can last a lifetime.

105-year-old Charlotte Henderson and her husband John, who’s 106, have been recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s oldest living couple.

December 22nd officially marks the couples wedding anniversary, but the Longhorn Village Senior Living Community where they live in Austin, Texas, decided to throw them a party a little early to honor the upcoming milestone.

Family and friends gathered and toasted the couple for their amazing eight decades of love.

John and Charlotte first met back in 1934 at the University of Texas, in the middle of the Great Depression. Charlotte was studying to become a teacher at the time and John was playing as a guard for the Texas Longhorn football team, reported by CBS DFW.

The couple’s wedding day came just five years later, as the Second World War was beginning.

John also holds the title of oldest living former University of Texas football player, and attends at least one football game each season he says.

So we know what you are wanting to ask. What is their secret to a successful marriage?

Well they told KXAN-TV just that. “Take every day in stride. Try to make tomorrow a better day than today,” John said.

Nairaland GeneralWhat The Shape Of Your Fingers Say About You by faith2kool(op): 7:46am On Dec 20, 2019
Characteristics of personality are special, and God has blessed each person with good and bad characteristics. The body is a symbol of who we are internally and where the word ‘ body language’ comes into play. The shape and posture of a body can sometimes show a lot about a person. It has been found recently that a person’s finger shape can indicate certain characteristics. There are three main categories, each falling into one of them.

You can form three groups by looking at the upper flexion crease on the ring finger and the height of the pinky. Type A is when it’s at the same point. Type B is the bigger pinky and Type C is the smaller pinky.

Give Buhari America To Rule, He Will Underdevelop It In One Year And Still Blame Abraham Lincoln – Obasanjo Blasts Buhari

Three months after criticising President Muhammadu Buhari’s performance, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised Nigerians not to vote for a ‘failed government’ in 2019.

Speaking on Monday in Abeokuta, Obasanjo called on Nigerians to be cautious not to re-elect a ‘failed government’ which may end up with excuses for its failure to meet Nigerians’ expectations.

The former president spoke during a visit to his home by a ‘New Nigeria 2019 Group’ led by Chima Anyaso, the convener, and Moses Siasia, co-convener.

He said it will be foolhardy for Nigerians to reinforce failure by re-electing the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Buhari in 2019.

He criticised the APC-led Federal Government for allegedly bringing hardship on Nigerians and running an ineffective economic policy, which, he said, cripples businesses, causing economic woes in the country.

While castigating the APC, Obasanjo also condemned his former ruling party, PDP. He asked Nigerians not to accept the opposition party’s recent apology; saying both APC and PDP could not salvage Nigeria.

He said, “But this time, for us to make it, we need all hands on deck. You see, I have publicly said and I mean it, that as a party, neither PDP nor APC can get us there as they have been. Never mind about reforms and apology and all that.

“And yet we have to get there. I asked one of the foundation members of PDP, the PDP when we started, was it a grassroots party? He said it was an elitist party. Really, we have never had the so-called grassroots party. Even NEPU which we could say is the nearest was not grassroots enough. And I believe strongly that we must have a strong popular grassroots movement to bring about the change, sustainability and stability that we need in our democracy and development.

“I am happy to meet with you, but don’t take anything for granted. There will be a lot of work that we have to do. What those I call power addicts would want to do is to divide you based on gender, age, tribe, religion and region. You have one commonality – interest of Nigeria. And it doesn’t matter where you come from. We had that interest.

“The truth is this: when you have an ineffective and incompetent government, we are all victims. And don’t let anybody deceive you. Those of you who are in business, your business could have been better today if we have a competent and effective and performing government. As I said, stop giving excuses; we met challenges. If there are no challenges, then we wouldn’t need you to come. You come in because you know there are challenges and then giving us excuse that you have many challenges, that is why you haven’t achieved results.

“And then you still want to go. The first lesson I learnt in my military training is never reinforce failure. What we have now is failure. Never you reinforce failure. Let failure be failure. And if you do not see what you should see, you will then be a victim of what you don’t like because it’s only when you see what you should see and you do what you should do that you put away what you do not like. And if you don’t see what you should see and you don’t do what you should do, you will be a victim of what you don’t like.”

He, however, said he believed some members of the APC and PDP still have integrity and can help Nigeria succeed.

“But let us bring together all these movements because we are pursuing the same thing. If we allow ourselves to be taken piecemeal, it is finished. Now if we are together… Yes, I said you cannot take PDP as it is and APC as it is; but they are not all made of evil people.

“There are good people. I said PDP is leprous hand, APC is leprous hand, but there are some clean fingers in them. So, let’s take those clean fingers in them and graft the clean fingers in our own. That is the way to go and if we go that way, we will get there, we will move together, and we will move fast and we will move far,” Obasanjo added.

Christianity Etc3 Million Evangelicals March In Brazil: ‘our Country Belongs To Jesus’ by faith2kool(op): 11:11pm On Dec 19, 2019
One of the world’s largest Christian gatherings happened on the streets of São Paulo, Brazil as millions marched.

There were 3 million participants at the March for Jesus, led by 28 Brazilian gospel bands and singers and dozens of evangelical pastors and leaders, and over 10 hours of praise and worship, reported Evangelical Focus.

Estevam Hernandes, president of the March for Jesus in Brazil, opened the event, which saw its largest participation since it began in 1993.

“We cry out for Brazil, for the families, for the end of corruption, for the afflicted hearts, our country belongs to Jesus Christ,” Hernandes said. “To Him all honor, glory, power, and majesty. The first time the Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, known as “Trump of the Tropics,” participated in the demonstration as a candidate last year and promised to come back after the election.

“You were decisive in helping change the destiny of Brazil,” Bolsonaro told the millions who attended during a seven-minute speech. “It is very good to be among friends. Bolsonaro said that his country is “secular but its current leader is Christian,” adding in that he wants to overcome the “ethical and moral” issues Brazil has faced. The Brazilian leader, like Trump, has not shied away from controversy and has been largely supported by evangelicals, a population that has spiked in Brazil, around 30 percent of the population of about 190 million people.
