The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 25 year old man, Dodo Baraje, who killed his uncle after he advised him against drinking local alcohol.

Baraje who lives in Shirumbu village, said he shot his uncle in annoyance because he beat him up in order to stop him from drinking the local made alcohol called suck and die.

The suspect said his 50 years old uncle explained to him that the alcohol would mar his future, hence the reason for the correction. The father of four said, “Out of annoyance I ran into the house picked a gun and shot him.

I never knew that he will die. He was only correcting me so that I will be a better person in the society my family will be proud of, I am finished. I don’t know how I am going to explain this to my family, especially to my wife who loved my late uncle so much. .

In fact I was under the influence of alcohol ordinarily I wouldn’t have killed my uncle who took care of me. I have never quarreled with with my uncle before, honestly I don’t know what came over me, may Allah forgive me.

I now realised what I have done to my life, I am a fool”, he lamented . The Command Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar said the security operatives recovered one single barrel gun from him adding that the case would be charged to court soon.

A retired Director of Mobilisation at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Anthony Ani, has given reasons the purported ‘Certificate of Exemption’ owned by Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, is not genuine and “wouldn’t have emanated from the NYSC”.

Adeosun was alleged to have skipped the mandatory NYSC year and went ahead to procure a certificate to cover her tracks.

She is yet to respond to the allegations since they became public last weekend.

Ani, who appeared on Channels Television’s breakfast show, Sunrise Daily, said the certificate had footprints of a fake NYSC certificate.

He insisted that there was no way NYSC would issue Certificate of Exemption to anyone who graduated before 30 years.

“You don’t apply for either NYSC certificate or NYSC certificate of national service or certificate of exemption, you present yourself for mobilisation. The system will determine whether you are to be exempted or you are not to be exempted,” Ani said.

Former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has dismissed any form of reconciliation with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said the party which failed in its campaign promises, including assurance that petrol will sell at N45 per litre, would not fulfil any fresh promise arising from negotiations.

“It’s bit late. The party has had its so called-convention, it has deviated from the original intentions why it was brought to being. So, there is nothing that remains with the mainstream APC”, Kwankwaso’s spokesman, Hajia Binta Spikin told Vanguard.

“I don’t know about the promises Comrade Oshiomhole keep making. He keeps promising he will do this, he would do that, but it’s just promises like the promises the APC gave in the run-up to the 2015 general election.

“Remember APC promised that petrol would be sold at N45 per litre; it has not fulfilled those promises, so what makes this promise different from all the other promises,” he said.

Similarly, National Publicity Secretary of the R-APC, Prince Kassim Afegbua, restated the determination of the group to carry on.

He also insisted that the national convention of the APC was constitutionally flawed.

“That convention has a constitutional flaw, so they are the ones that should be coming to us for peace,” he said.

WAEC 2018 Senior School Certficate Examination SSCE Results have been released. “786,016 candidates representing 49.98% obtained credits and above in minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

Announcing the release of the results at the National office of the couincil in Lagos, the head of Nigeria Office, Mr Olu Adenipekun disclosed that. 786,016 candidates representing 49.98% obtained credits and above in minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

It was gathered that a total of 1,578,846 candidates registered for the examination from 17,886 recognised secondary schools in Nigeria. Out of the registered candidates, 1,572,396 candidates sat the examination.

Out of the number that sat for the exam in Nigeria, 1,470,338 candidates, representing 93.51% have their results fully processed and released. The Certificates of such candidates will be ready in 90 days from today.

A 14-year-old student identified as Bilikisu Oseni has reportedly gone missing after leaving her mother’s shop in Ikorodu to go out with her 20-year-old boyfriend.

It was gathered that on Sunday, June 24, 2018, the S.S.1 student, left her mother’s shop in Odogunyan, Ikorodu, Lagos State, with her boyfriend Wahis, to go and see his new apartment located at Igbosoro Road, Ikorodu.

Panic arose when Bilikisu didn’t come home, the mother became uneasy and began to search for her. She was later told about Wahis who came to pick her daughter up with his motorcycle. According to the mother, “We got the telephone number of Wahis from one of his friends and when we called him, he denied knowing Bilikisu’s whereabouts.

I do not know his relationship with my daughter, my telephone battery was low and I went to charge it in a shop when I ran into him. I asked him to produce my daughter, but he fled the shop with the assistance of his friends,” she added.

The suspect was later arrested at his place of work. He however was granted bail, with a seven days ultimatum after his relatives promised that he would produce Bilikisu.

Wahis is still bent on not knowing where his girlfriend is, according to him, not too long after they arrived at his apartment, he got a call telling him that bilikisu’s mother is looking for her, so he asked her to go back home in another motorcycle.

A male student of Federal Polytechnic in Oko, Anambra state, was nabbed after disquising as a female to gain entrance into a female hostel to steal.

The young man succeded in entering the hostel but, ran out of luck when he was caught in the act. He was paraded by the school’s Anti Cult Squad with a placard in his hand, with an inscription; “I dressed like a lady to steal.”
