Politics / Re: Atiku To Replace Yaradua? by faoni572(m): 3:23pm On Jan 26, 2009
mikeansy:

Yar'adua emerged PDP flag bearer in the last election because Presidency was zoned to the North.

He was no more qualified or educated or vissionary then Donald Duke or Professor Utomi.

OBJ also emerged because Presidency was zoned to South West.
So the zoning cycle must complete before we change it. The President of Nigeria in 2015 should come from South-South or South-East

The zoning is not in the Nigeria constitution, it is the PDP policy and has nothing to do with Nigeria policy. Any political party can bring out an idea  they seem best to them. Nigeria constitution does not include zoning.
Politics / Re: Yaradua Suspends Domestic Passenger Plane In Air For 3 Hrs. by faoni572(m): 2:45pm On Jan 21, 2009
i_laugh:

The people fainted due to the amount of hours they spent in the air? What a stupid and ridiculous statement to make, so, people who travel 11 hours to China, Australia should all be dead meet by the time they get out of the airplane? What a sad report, thse things happen normally but it becomes a story in Nigeria.

If you are going to China which is 11 hours according to you, you will know you are going to China and prepare your mind for the journey, but you are comming from Lagos to Abuja a journey which is not supposed to be 1 hour and suddenly it started going to 3 hour, then something must tell your mind that something is wrong and that can incur fear into you. Imagine yourself travelling to China which is 11 hour as you said and after 20 hours the plane has not landed, how would you feel, won't you be thinking that fuel can run off at anytime.

Politics / Re: How We Can Check Crimes In Nigeria. by faoni572(m): 8:55am On Jan 07, 2009
@kosovo,

I like all your points you highlighted here and especially the capital punishment you suggested. I want to add one point to your lists. There should be a database of everybody in Nigeria where the biometric of everybody living in Nigeria are stored in a central database. This database should be made available to security agencies, banks and any other organisation that may need them. This can help reduce crimes because with the biometric and the special personal number given to individual, it will be easy to trace anybody that commit crime. For example a gun use for criminal activities after recovery of such gun can be scanned and the finger print obtain can be used to search database and know the identity of the person that use the gun last.

Politics / Re: Chief Obafemi Awolowo: National Hero Or Villain? by faoni572(m): 1:47pm On Dec 11, 2008
Quote from: noetic on January 07, 2008, 10:35 PM

regardless of what you think, what makes or breaks a man is what he did with opportunities he had. It becomes more intriguing if those around him had the same opportunities too.

Obafemi Awolowo like three other men (one in the eastern region, another in the mid-west and the last in the north) had opportunities to serve their fatherland. what they did with these opportunities is history today. their results are subjects to debate by generations born and unborn.

Awo stood tall. he offered free, qualitative, basic education, adequate healthcare among others. ask yourself, y is he controversial even till today. because his policies unlike his mates are distinct, stood the test of time and has not been surpassed by any nigerian leader, living or dead.

he was a visionary and an icon. that he served in the southwest does not mean that he is a tribalist, because he sought for opportunities to implement these ideas on the national platform. he was rigged out. yet he continued to offer his opinion on national issues at the folly of the then rulers.

on biafra, he was on the fedral side so y should he have made any attempt to aid that ill fated project?. y didnt the 5 ibo govs of 1999-2007 back the uwazurike biafra project with all the funds at their disposal?. obviously if they did, biafra would have been a success. but they wont, y not? because its their carrot for negotiating selfish aims at the fedral level.

if we can have a president who can implement 25% of Awo`s policies, Nigeria will be a better place.

No doubt Awo will remain a sacroscant figure to millions unborn regardless of tribal affiliations

Well said, people should believe it or not Awo is a National Hero !!

@ luckyCO, I saw the code to make flexigrid adjust automatically according to the text that enter it, I saw it on the net, I am not the one that write it but it works very fine for me without any error. I copied the code below for you to see it.

Thanks a lot.

For c = 0 To MSHFlexGrid1.Cols - 1
    max_len = 0
    For r = 0 To MSHFlexGrid1.Rows - 1
        new_len = TextWidth(MSHFlexGrid1.TextMatrix(r, c))

Politics / Re: Northerner Kill Yoruba Corpers Leke Akande; Tola Odusola, Ibukun Akinjogbin by faoni572(m): 10:10am On Dec 02, 2008
DavidDylan:

The issue the paper he referenced addressed was corpers only. It so happened the 3 of them are yoruba. Nothing to do with tribe.

That's it. The reason why the paper reference them is because they are corpers, it is only unfortunate they are all Yorubas. They are special because if not because of NYSC they won't have got themselves in Jos.

I don't know why people always attach tribalism to everything, there are other Yorubas that died there and not only these three people.

May there soul rest in peace.

Politics / Re: Suggest brilliant ideas/program that will improve Nigeria economic situation by faoni572(m): 1:42pm On Nov 27, 2008
I think the first evil we should get rid off is corruptions, if Nigeria can fight corruptions at all levels and after that make sure there is constant supply of electricity, I bet you all Nigeria will change for better!
Politics / Re: Nigeria's worst President??? by faoni572(m): 2:33pm On Nov 26, 2008
From my own opinion, the worst President or Head of State that Nigeria has ever had is the present 'snail' we have in Abuja. I notice obviously that in the past regimes there were always actions, but with this one we have now everything is stand still, he's only looking forward to year 2020 maybe that is when he wants to do something. I know we have never had any President that performed up to expectations but the worst of them is the present snail that occupy Aso Rock.

courage89:

you know what, i cannot agree more.
Yaradull definitely deserves 2nd and third term in office
The man has perform better than expectation.

Education - F9
Energy - F9
Commerce & Infrastructure - F9
Tourism - F9
Management of Mineral Resources - F9
Financial - C- (Based on leadership of soludo)
Planning - F9

Vote for Yaradua come 2011

I agree with you that he has failed but if someone fail WAEC he's expected to write again until he passes it so since Yaradull has failed, let him 'rewrite' , that's let him go for second term and probably third term if he fails second term.

Politics / Re: Electric Power Supply Sector In Nigeria Should Be Privatized. by faoni572(m): 9:58am On Nov 26, 2008
A-town:

When i say that nigerians are monkeys, some people will start crying.
Power problem can be solved in 2yrs max.
Privatize the damn thing. FG has no business in retail power/engergy.
Let individual states source private investors to generate and distribute power for them.
It doesn't have to be sudden.
Isolate lagos from the Nation grid and there will be reprieve for other states due to the huge industrial demand in lagos.
There should be at least 8 power generating companies/retail distributors for lagos alone. Wipe out NEPA.
Obviously a lot of companies like Mikano and John Holt would not like the idea of stable power in Nigeria because that means they will "CLOSE" down.
Yes Nigeria is the biggest market for generators. I bet these companies have lobbyists in the fg/senate who ensure that NEPA remains a govt deal.

You have said it all, they should privatise the useless NEPA, how can FG thinks they can supply power to the whole Nigeria if not because of corruption. If it can work in other countries I wonder why it can't work in Nigeria (well nothing works in Nigeria anyway)

Business / Re: Entire Computer Village Shut Down Over Tax by faoni572(m): 11:44am On Nov 21, 2008
The environmental issue is not the topic or is it?

Envitonmental issue is not the topic here but it is one of the reasons why the entire village was closed down

As for the education of people, even our great grand fathers knew what tax is, they didn't need any TV or radio adverts for that, people are just trying to evade tax paying.
