We are the brink of a new world. We had all unanimously expected a great change in the year 2020. Unfortunately, it seems our collective subconscious of thoughts have brought about this change. For years, the world’s major Abrahamic faiths with its billions of adherents had prayed for, wished and anticipated the end of tphe world; the supposed End of Days. After all, basic psychological and spiritual science tells us we are bound to manifest the thoughts we water.

What if just as random number generators and other experiments had longed shown were true? What if human thoughts alone do affect reality? This has been handed down by specialists in this esoteric fields of science as the genuine explanations for genuine miracles, healings & coincidences. Quantum Mechanics had long proved that the observer is not independent of the observed, and can affect experiments via thoughts alone.

A lot of us may not consider all of these until it comes to light the amount of investments the world’s governments had continually invested in the fields of parapsychology and other related esoteric fields that border on the human mind, and the inherent power it is believed to possess… So again, with a little more thought, consider whether the collective subconscious pull of humanity could truly affect our present reality at such a long awaited year of change.

A substantial proportion of humanity in the developed world had long imagined this End of Days would be brought on by the WWIII. Albert Einstein himself had once said, “I do not know what sort of weapons would be used to fight World War III, but World War IV would be fought with sticks and stones.” One of history’s most influential thinkers had felt humanity would be reverted to the Stone Age by the events of the next great war.

What if this expected war had happened and we’re living in its aftereffects? Since the 1980’s at the height of the Cold War, the threat of a nuclear war had greatly diminished as the superpowers realized they each had enough arsenals scattered over the world to reduce the surface of the planet to dust. As much as we see these nations as enemies, this is just the surface interpretation. The UN and their individual strengths had ensured they were secret allies when it benefitted both parties.

The greatest threat of war was not nuclear-based, but bio-weapon based. They could engineer weapons that were not always for destruction but for control of the populace. According to a few hypotheses, one of such bio-weapon intended by Beijing to mitigate the long riots in Hong Kong had gone haywire. The mishap had happened as a battle in Wuhan where the virus was released into society.

Like a thief in the night, the End of Days had come upon us in our sleep; stealing away at society until it had been too late by when the house owner discovered. According to these absurd theories that present a chronologically correct view, this World War had commenced in 2019, and we’re in the aftereffects. It is the very reason the virus is codenamed COVID-19. Although, seemingly preposterous to believe, these theories suggest that the general information being fed to the majority of the planet is just a false truth; a mockery of the truth. The genuine reality may go thus if we subscribe to these views:

The virus had indeed started in Wuhan China, as predicted in a few novels, cartoons & short stories, but not 2020, but in 2019. The virus is truly airborne; not just when a carrier sneezes or coughs. The carrier may actually poison the air by his breath. The meagre amounts of death recorded from the total number of infected persons is also believed to be a misrepresentation of the truth. The true deaths in China had exceeded hundreds of thousands, and the disease is currently a global pandemic.

For the very reason that these rapid deaths may begin to spread to other nations, the plot of the non-lethal Corona virus was spread to the world governments & their leaders, and international organizations to prevent panic as death’s increased in other nations from the airborne pandemic. The only probable solution was a mock story of the true reality to prevent panic. This story ensured governments in affected regions could enforce self-isolation on the citizens as the only way to mitigate it’s spread.

Unfortunately, governments which are not able to ensure the self-isolation of its citizens would greatly suffer; as the true pandemic wades through the world. Several nations like Russia that may have been privy to the true reality had shut down their borders since January; just about as soon as the rest of the world got wind of the situation disguised as Corona virus, at a time when the disease was believed to be only within China.

Quite a number of world leaders had failed to address their citizens on the issue of the pandemic. A few have altogether disappeared from the world’s media. Some theories suggest that the few who do appear may just be body doubles. In our nation, our own president had failed to address the nation on the gravity of the situation, and his immediate family had imposed a self-isolation on themselves already… Again, what if the expected End of Days had come upon us like thief in the night?

Lol! Sorry to scare you though with these thoughts and theories that intrigue your mind. But even the situation in the media is just as gloomy for Afrikans who have an arrogant, ignorant and unprepared community. The media tells us situations are bleeped up in Europe, especially in Italy, where more than a billion persons are being forced to remain indoors self-isolating from the rest of society.

If these situations were to translate in Afrikan society as the virus is currently here as reported in the media. Could our government enforce a compulsory stay at home in our crowded city centres? What would happen when the government is forced to shut down necessities such markets and banks? Would crime rate increase if our government is able to pull this off; as in a complete lock down as in Europe?

Whatever the case may be; whether the conspiracy theorists are to be believed or the media, the situation indeed seems looming with a cascading chain of problems for Afrikan nations like Nigeria. A new society would probably be birthed from the pandemic and its consequential panic; A New World where movement is restricted by the government until a tested vaccine or drug is developed.

Those who would be the last prone to the infection would be food-producing rural areas as such communities are often only visited by merchants and only a controlled amount of outside visitors. Access to food might just be their succor when there would be a resultant shortage of foods in city centres which don’t grow any. In these little known villages with only a limited population of youth, the crime rates are unlikely to skyrocket as they receive a controlled amount of outsiders.

People whose businesses and jobs enabled them to work from home would likely be the majority of society who still earned whilst at home. A lot of folks would be forced to invest in Forex, Sports, Cryptocurrency and other financial trading venture in order to earn whilst trapped. Those in the villages who had access to the internet, a food farm and electricity may just be better off than those in the crowded city centres which crime rates are likely to rise if the pandemic and its restrictions do not blow off after a few months.

If thIngs continue in their downward trends, it does seem we may just be at the brink of an unprecented change in history; a divide brought about by this COVID-19. We may now be the first citizens of a post-Corona Afrika; a post-Corona World. How best do you prepare for this? It may ne indeed wise to hope for the best, whilst you prepare for the worst.

President, Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Dr. Francis Faduyile, has called on the federal government to close border against countries with high cases of coronavirus.

Speaking in Lagos, Faduyile said that the time has come for the country to close its border against countries with a high level of coronavirus infection.

He noted that if coronavirus gets loose in the country, Nigeria will suffer for it, “the time has come for us as a country to take decisive action. I can tell you, if coronavirus gets loose in this country, the whole of Nigeria will suffer for it.

Following the 3rd case of coronavirus in Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Health has provided more guidance for Nigerians. The ministry emphasized that people should not travel to affected countries unless it's very essential.

(1) We strongly discourage any travel to all affected countries except for essential trips

(2) We encourage everyone returning to Nigeria from any country to self-isolate for 14-days

(3) All those returning from countries where there is ongoing high community transmission (over 1,000 cases cumulatively), should self-isolate and will be actively followed up for 14 days by theNigeria Centre for Disease Control and Port Health Services

(4) Please continue to maintain hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.

Disclaimer This thread does not in anyway encourage promiscuity nor does it propergate indecency but rather it underscores some real facts for young ladies to be aware and more mindful of what's ahead.

So a very close friend of mine I happen to know very well married as a virgin, this was about 11 years ago. After about a year of blissful marriage, her marriage turned hell in the ensuing years that followed, she never opened up to me until last week when she did; she is blessed with kids, but her husband has been giving her hell in the marriage, abuses her, both physically, mentally and emotionally, carries various young girls and flaunts them to her face. She is about calling it quite. This is a girl I know very well as we grew up together, and I can vouch for her on many fronts, one thing I know about her is how genuine, cool headed and humble she is, she's someone meek at heart, I am sure she wouldn't create problems for her husband in a home, she was just unfortunate falling into the wrong hands

I also happen to come from a large family with 5 sisters (all married), from all my sisters, the one with the best marriage is the one that lived more of a party life style in school, attended many parties etc, and the one with the worse marriage was the one that married a virgin (actually, she has the kind of personality I wouldn't be surprised might cause problem for her , her husband and husband relatives, as she could be selfish).

My point is, for the Ladies, being chaste and maintaining high morals is something any parent will be proud about and will long for their child to uphold; but do not see that as all you need to portray yourself as suitable enough "wife material". Marriage is something very dynamic and complex, it entails a lot, and has to do with both you working on various facets of your life (of which sexuality is just one) as well as being able to choose an appropriate partner for yourself.

Do not see being a Virgin as the price you have to uphold for your husband, as it doesn't in anyway guarantee a good or perfect marriage (far from it), it is rather more dependent or perhaps a fine and infallible blend of various facets of your life viz a viz personality, charisma, behaviour, sensibility etc. as well as your keen sagaciousness in choosing an appropriate partner who is sensible and will be very well compatible with you..

Just a food for thought sageful minds can ruminate and mull over!!

In Igbo culture, the masquerade (Mmanwu) embodies the spirit and human worlds. The mystique surrounding the masquerade is one of the key components of the Igbo culture that survived Western influences,

It is generally believed in the Igboland that the masquerade is a spirit which springs from the soil. The masquerades are classified into categories based on specialization. Each masquerade possesses particular attributes (warrior-like prowess, mystical powers, youthfulness, and old age) and specializes in one or more skills (dancing skills, acrobatics, and other ritual manifestations).

Masquerading may involve one person team or a team made up of instrument players, vocalists, dancers, masquerade advisers, and the masquerade itself. Most masquerades are covered from head to toe with some piece of clothing or/and bamboo rafters, a wooden mask is worn over the face. The mask will vary depending on the type of masquerade and the place of origin within the Igboland. Some masks are designed to be beautiful, intimidating or downright sinister. Most masquerades claim to have some mystical powers and are constantly competing to see which one has the most mystical powers, whenever they appear together especially at village squares or funerals. The masquerade appears during traditional celebrations, funerals and festivals especially the new yam festival.

Celebrity makeup artist, Anita ‘Brows’ Adetoye is married to her lover, Nollywood actor and model, Emmanuel Ifeanyi Ikubese in a lavish lagos wedding.

Their white wedding took place on Saturday 14th March 2020. And at the reception, they had Timi Dakolo serenade with some of his songs. 

Several celebrities were in attendance to celebrate with the couple & davidos daughter Imade was one of the flower girls. Congratulations to them.
