luminouz: Out of point because you included politicians and the police. The police do their job and likewise politicians are elected. Cultism and herdmen killings are societal banes,so I'd address them
Cultism and herdsmen violence is directly related to failed parentage/upbringing. Inculcating strong moral values early in life had always helped African children.
If you still feel otherwise, train your kids the way you want but dont barge on that man who corrected his daughter, his way. Some of us were corrected that way and we turned out better, morally. I still maintain my stand that children are meant to be trained and moulded right with core values that upgrade, not degrade the society. Sometimes, these training might be verbal but other times,a good smacking to drive the point home will also do the job. Are politicians and police not part of the society? Shouldn't the beatings have shaped them into not stealing public funds or harassment, extortion and unlawful killings of civilians? All this talk about "moral values" yet Africans especially Nigerians are a global laughing stock known for corruption, stagnation and barbarity. The global black community can keep deceiving themselves but the result is clear, this doesn't do jack anyone who thinks Africans have better morals than anywhere else is plain and simple deceiving themselves. The same Africans will still run to the "less moral" countries because they know they will get their salaries on time and won't be killed for rituals. If you replace "daughter" with "wife" watch as everyone here turns on the man and insults him because usual flogging is not done out of a desire to correct but because the person doing it wants to vent his anger on something. |

luminouz: Out of point. How is it off point when you said the gun violence in America is the result of a lack of beating, when in Nigeria where we beat, we have similar or even worse problems with less access to firearms? |
Family › Re: Man Flogs His Daughter For Joining Whatsapp Group She Was Warned Against by Farki: 8:43pm On Jul 19, 2020 |
luminouz: Very wrong. I dont agree.
A child has no true experience of his/her own, thats why they need to be taught/trained. Her dad is training her. Our African model is just different from the American model.
Thinking we are aggressive because we were raised with capital punishment is also wrong. Else, those fvcked up shootings we read about in the US by kids and teenagers wouldn't happen at all. So all the cultism, herdsmen killings, abuse by soldiers and police, assaulting of shop owners by politicians are what? Keep deceiving yourself there, if Nigeria had the same gun culture as the US we would all be killing each other over every petty disagreement. |

Ernezee: this is the way most of us were brought up and we turned out to be good people for ourselves and our family so its not about the fact that she’s 18 its about not making mistakes you should be making in ur 20s and 30s in ur teen age so you won’t ruin your life. As you get older the discipline reduce and it’ll get to a point your parents won’t even caution you anymore. Nigerians are the most beaten yet one of the worst behaved and most corrupt people. |

selemempe: you people are the worst Nigerians. The south east was devastated by a civil war so we can understand why some areas are undeveloped The north was devastated by terrorism so we can understand their developmental disabilities The Niger Delta has been devastated by oil spills and oil bunkering so we can understand their developmental problems
The south west on the other hand has never witnessed conflict and has even hosted lagos, Nigeria's capital city for 76 years. What is your excuse for still looking like this? What civil war? Civil war of 50 years ago? Clearly the great Biafrans bounced back swiftly from the civil war and are now living in mansions all over the the East. Isn't that what people on nairaland say whenever we brown roof residents, who are their tenants, dare to open our ewedu mouths? I also must ask which history textbook you are reading which places Ondo in the East since it is clearly more informative and robust than the ones I read in primary school. Clearly the battle of Ore and the bombing of Lagos must have been pure fabrications by the government of Gowon. I shall be forever grateful to the people of the South East for bringing their development to the South West I don't know how we could have survived otherwise. |

flokii: What these Northerners are doing in the Army is very risky. If we can't defend ourselves against threat within the state, what happens when we face external threat or international armed conflict?
If nothing is done on time, this country is as good as gone. Remove the islamic/arabic inscriptions from the Army logo and put Nigeria colours to show a multi-religious nation.
Insurgency is like cancer, it grows steadily until it kills the afflicted. Our Aboki friends up there should take note. While some of you are cashing out, your future and that of your kids is uncertain. I've said it before that Nigeria is lucky we have weak neighbours who are uninterested in fighting us. |

Politics › Re: Student Who Created Jonathan Parody Twitter Account Detained For 54 Days by Farki: 6:59pm On Jul 17, 2020 |
Xisnin: I don't believe you don't know the meaning of impersonation. You probably took the "free speech" position because of the individuals involved. Calling an account a "parody" only protects your social accounts from being banned by the admin. It doesn't protect you from legal consequences.
Impersonation is not freedom of expression. It is a criminal act according to Nigeria's Cybercrime act. The boy is free to insult anyone he likes under his own identity.
And another point, just because someone gets away with a crime doesn't mean you will. The moral of the story is not to use a criminal act to attack your victim. I read the law, first he made it known that he isn't Goodluck, anyone who thought he was is either stupid or illiterate. He used it for jokes instead of fraud. Jonathan and/or his aide are only doing this because they have thin skin. The only real issue with the account is if he broke subsection C or not. Anyways the fact that they kept him for this long really shows where the priorities of the police lie. |

tot: It's everyone's problem because when Nigeria is placed on certain banned lists due to insecurity, it affects everyone.
My issue with this is the use of STATE FUNDS. If an individual sponsored it, it's a different case but money that should be put into governance being spent in this manner is just wrong. Their problem since they have chosen to advance their knowledge of Arabic tales by the moonlight rather than anything useful to their population. In the end they will be killing themselves in their own states. China and Russia, America's main enemies, aren't banned, Saudi Arabia that sponsors terrorism isn't banned those bans have nothing to do with security. |

You went raw, avoided contraceptives just to end up aborting a child.. uncle no be everybody de keep Belle sake of tying a man down... It worked then not now.. Jada isn't broke you know!!! That's the thing as long as the daddy is a big boy most women won't mind getting pregnant for him. That's why celebrities with multiple baby mamas still find women to impregnate. What I've learned from this is that as long as you have money and influence you can do whatever you want. |
