Seun: There's nothing evil about the human body. This is how religion enslaves people. Skimpy dressing is distracting at worst, not evil. Don't hate. .. The thing there is that if you expose your unclothedness and cause others to sin, you body becomes an instrument for evil. God hate lust and He won't spare those that lead others to lust. Decency matters everywhere, not only in the church. |

The main thing I noticed here is that you're not feeding them fine. According to this chart for Hyline brown, at 23 wks they're suppose to consume about 100g/bird/day (some other charts put it at 112g for Isa brown). 112g x 506=56.672kg. So increase their feed. |

They just keep lieing to Nigerians who are wallowing in the pool of gullibility. And because Nigerians(all of us) are generally lazy to conduct a simple research about the lies that are been fed to them, we just swallow everything. .. Oh what are pity. This boards do the grading and standardization of these cash crops to meet international standards. MB help to set pre -farming prices so that farmers know at what rate they would be producing and selling to the MB After production. Without marketing boards, I am sorry.... same old song will be sang. Billions would be needed but I think, this is were the private sector should come in. There are no plantation agriculture in Nigeria, especially in the north. I know of just two okomu oil and the other in edo state. Plantation agriculture should be encouraged especially in cash crop production. .. Nice contribution. |

fnk: Hello my people, I need some info on a new project that I am working on. I bough 200 layers 10 weeks ago and they are doing well, I want to use them as parent stock and will like to know from the house how to go about that, what to feed them and went, do I introduce male chicken to them what what male chicken, a cocrel? I also have about 200 11 weeks cocrel in the farm. I actually want to buy an incubator and just hatch for my self. It will really mitigate my electrical cost since while I am brooding my day olds and can be hatching another set of 1000 chicks with the same electrical cost. take away transportation to Ibadan, mortality from travel stress and the flunctuation of the price of the day old in the market, all this can reduce my overhead and increase my profit margin giving me the room to compete. I am seriously hiting the sales outlet and have bunch of eateriesand supermarkets lined up now to waiting for us to be suppling them, but some of our challenges had always been our price comparing it with the big guys out there. These outlet likes the taste and look of our chicken, but wants me to reduce from my N680/kg to 650/kg that they buy from the other guys. If I can do what I explained above, I can save myself some of this overheads and be able to compete. We have two outlets now that their combined demand is over 1500 birds per week, so even if my take home is N20/bird after all the overheads are taken care of, it is still not a bad deal, and this is just from two outlets and we still have a few more in our pool of customers. And I know milling my own feeds will really help reduce the overhead.
So guys, please I need help with info on this parent stock deal, I have no clue how to go about it yet or have not bordered about it till now.
Thanks guys. .. Birds used to produce layers are special, they are called breeders. The common layers can not produce chicks that will perform well. |

Lesgupnigeria: A good mind should have been.able to deduce some facts from what i wrote when jasper ask some question on the third page of this thread. Its unfortunate that you don't still want to.learn. if you are pessimistic about cassava, why can't you venture into another business?
People who don't enjoy cultivating vegetables, divert into.casava and other crops and vice versa. so why disturb yourself about cassava?
And if i may ask how many years experience do.you have in.marketing cassava?
There is no large scale cassava processing company in south west that i have not sold cassava to in one time or the other, so i can tell you the best scenarios to deal with them to make good profit and otherwise.
I am very sure if you are the only person that planted cassava, you will still complain that it is not profitable because i can't fathom the business sense of you cultivating cassava in the remote Saki and expect to sell in Lagos when its not a direct-consumers produce.
I have never at any point in time label anybody a failure,i have made mistakes and have openly admit it,so other people as well but the problem is never learning from your mustake and change your strategy. You cant keep doing the same thing and expect different result.
I have helped a lot of people on my thread and i am glad about that and i am willing to help as many people as well.
You said cassava is not profitable, that i didnot do.any cassava transaction,i.showed you.
You said the GES e-wallet is a propanganda,i posted true evidences of that again
You said federal government is not giving out loans to farmers,i again posted the SMS message i.got through Bank Of Agriculture for the loan disbursed to me
You are indeed a doubting thomas. .. Two great farmers I respect a lot (and Jethro), pls stop the words' kunfu. The truth is that while some people make losses in a market, others can be gaining. It's all about getting the right market and God helping you. |

Lesgupnigeria: Thanks. I think 20% after-profit sale charge is safer for people interested and also will be able to.give you confidence that i will work towards the success of the farm because if the produce is not sold, there will be no way i will deduct 20% from the profit.
This is actually better than charging management fee before the produce from the farm are sold.
The 20% charge is even smaller than collecting management fee from you before the produce are sold. .. I once asked him and he said it is net profit. I think that's far better than management fee. If the farm fails you pay nothing, that's quite fare to me. Another question I have is how many yrs will you charge the 20%? |

samuel25: URGENT HELP PLEASE!!! Good day experienced farmers in the house. please help me out of this problem. my layers started laying by December and by January they reached around 79 - 85%. Early February I discovered their production reduced to 60% which made me to suspect they are breaking their eggs and I redebeaked them immediately, two days later I suspected Newcastle in them (shellless egg) which I treated with Virucida and intergendox. during the same week I moved them to battery cage and the Topfeed I was using finished, I went for Amoo feed because Top feed is not available. Since then till now the production stand at 50% and the egg size became so small. the worst is that my customers are complain that the eggs are bad since that period. Truly, the eggs look watery when break and when cook, half of it is water. Please what have I done wrong. can it be the change in feed or the stress too much for them. .. You don't stress birds like that. Debeaking and moving to battery cage shud be done b4 laying start. The feed u changed to might be low quality and don't change feed suddenly, it shud happen over a period of 2 weeks. |
