I went to this store and got a shock of my life. Red pepper(Rodo) £16, something that can not fill custard paint. Haa mogbe.... Is that how we used to do cheesy cheesy. Maybe the guy made mistake in our bill sha. Hubby is planning to go there and buy the same quantity to see the price again.

Just to give update. Thank you

Lolz sorry ehn, red pepper is usually expensive during spring/winter months. You may want to ask for carton price and then take half.

On the other hand it's value for money cos you don't need to use lots of it as they come quite spicy

UK elders in the house I greet, ohh.

Please do you have a specific place to buy a TV? We went to Curry as the closest place to us, but the price we got was much more than what we saw online. Can we also Order online? Also they don’t have the brand we wanted.

Do we also need to check for energy consumption rating for the TV? I saw on the cartons of the last tenant , he uses Rating A. Does this matter.

Also, how long does the broadband people come around to fix internet for us. I am using Virgin media as is the strongest In my area.

Also, do you think it's advisable to go into insurance for the house? I feel like since it's not my home no need, but they are saying because of my valuables.

Thank you

Ao.com usually have good prices and very as well. I generally prefer AO cos of fast delivery and service.

For Internet, they should book you in for an appointment immediately you sign up.

Didn't get home insurance as a Tenant, think it's a way for the insurance to make money, because the LL should have the basic h9me cover. However if you got valuables like all those cinematic TV, expensive laptops and phones etc, you may consider it

You people should be planning for summer born. grin. My 3 year old is late August. I had to pray him out sharply cos giving birth in September is extra year childcare. He started full time school (nursery in his sibling primary school) last September.

It is worth noting that it has disadvantage though as a lot of the kids in his class are way older than him. They are much more matured than him as even 4 months difference mean a lot at this stage. He is like the baby of the class. He is gradually adjusting though.

grin grin this developed countries will make you dey overplan baby and dislike ember months.

Wawu. The danger of a single story. I read the first article and already started feeling sorry for him. Felt he was just misunderstood. Alas the guy was trying to flee. Hmm. Na wa.

Same with me, I actually felt it was already prejudiced and his main problem was speaking to the FBI without a lawyer present.

He has a wrong insurance. I.e provisional license and driving alone without l plates

We are still observing the situation as he told the other party he will fix there car 100£, the problem it was a company/work car so the individual doesn't have have final say. The individual still took pictures and his car plate etc. And told him he will be in touch

He should try and negotiate then without involving his insurance provider (unless na expensive car), if not just accept whatever the insurance say and set up a convenient direct debit plan with them.

Update guy 1 had accident this morning.

Improper observations at round about.

Someone hit his doors.

What is the implications of driving without insurance?

Since he's driving with provisional license

He has been impounded last year by cops as well.
Now another gbese.

A word is enough for the wise oh.

Theory test pro
Ashley Neil watch 200hrs
DGN driving school watch 200hrs
Get an instructor and block book 10hrs
.

Watch a lot of videos and while driving drive intentionally with safety in mind.

You are good to pass first time
QED

Believe driving without insurance is a crime, one should have at least 3rd party insurance.

As per d repercussions, did he have anyone with full licence beside him? That may help mitigate his cost. The insurance may potentially cancel his current cover and he will still be liable for the full amount for the year, increased premium, and if any issues found with the claim, he could be charged with the repaired cost of the other party

Its possible the £1000 you were credited with was proceeds of crime/fraud. If the money was obtained via criminal means (e.g. romance fraud or BEC) , you may have unknowingly helped this person launder money. This is one of the risks involved with exchanging pounds for naira especially when you do not know the person you are buying from and neither are you 100percent certain the source of their money is genuine.

Contact revolut and see what they say. I don't expect them to provide you with any concrete information but be prepared as they might ask you questions relating to the transactions.

Best case scenario, they remove the restriction on the account and/or they close the account. Worse case scenario, it might end up as police case and/or you are reported by the bank to CIFAS as a perpetrator of fraud.

https://www.cifas.org.uk/

And to add to the above worst case scenario,
We all need to start learning legalities in the UK or abroad generally. Police may not be your friend when interrogating you.

See the below story of a naive Nigerian in the US who was jailed due to not querying the source of the forex transfered

I think it depends on your council. A friend of mine moved from Glasgow to South Ayrshire Council. Currently the council arranges a taxi to pick her son from school every morning and drop him back after school because she lives more than 2 miles away from his school. The only requirement is that there’s someone at home when he comes back.

She says it was not like that in her previous council, So it depends. Always ask and throughly research with your council.

Taxi pickup and drop off every day for just 2miles?? Seems Scotland is the place to be oo, doubt England councils will offer that.

Good evening everyone.

I was playing around with the mortgage calculator on rightmove... I noticed that for a house of say 600k, the monthly mortgage could be 2500 with a 10% deposit. But curiously, doubling the deposit to 20% only marginally reduced the mortgage to like 2200 (the figures are not exact)
Is there any trick to striking an agreeable balance between increasing the deposit paid and achieving a lower monthly mortgage...cos the way it looks to me, one might as well deposit only 10% and invest tge rest in a buy to let...

Doubling the deposit basically increases your equity but potentially the interest rates between an 80% to 90% LTV ratio isn't that much so that's why you are seeing close quotes. You can definitely divert your extra funds to start your property portfolio.

Also noticed that you might properly get a reduced mortgage repayments based on your actual scenario because the calculators are designed on like standard 3% rates and there are mortgages as low as 1.25% in the recent times.

Caveat- the above is just personal experience and not a professional one. Trust Ticha and others to do it justice

I wanted to begin my search for a mortgage as well because I have some funds I'm not using, but I was told by someone here that I need ILR status before I could get a mortgage. Don't know how true that is. I've just stayed few months here.

Does anyone know about this?

Let's do parry with the funds you are not using now.
Serious note, you do not need Ilr for mortgage, your employment status, overall finance will determine your eligibility.

Only issue could be the length of your stay and if you are still on probation at work, however Speak to a mortgage advisor. I have read about someone who got a house within 1yr of moving to the UK.

Good day my people, please for those living in Glasgow and environs where can I get shops to buy cheap furniture-beds, mattress, lounge chairs etc to furnish an apartment

Not living in Glasgow but I would say similar England sourcing applies. Check Facebook market place for items you want (always choose cash on delivery), British heart foundation or other similar charity stores if you don't mind fairly used items, neighbourhood app if lots of users exist in the region

Good afternoon my people, please does anyone have any experience about Scottish power. Moneysupermarket recommended them for me as a cheap energy provider and upon contacting them, they gave me a monthly fix rate of 63 pounds Which is very enticing but when I checked their review online it was horrible.

I'm planning to call them that I no do again but I need input from people with first hand experience.

My house is all electric.

Please help a brother oooo.

Exactly oo, run my brother. They are a terrible company and that amount stated is probably for a very low annual usage in the fine print. They will bill you £500 in 2 months if not careful and start asking you to negotiate. I also don't think now is a good time to switch honestly due to the increase in tariff etc.

Was researching in 2021 about how to go about it and most of the YT guys say you should spend only 20% of the spend limit that's on the CC

How true is this and is that what you did too?

Thats the best actually. Stick to what you can easily afford and refund. CC shouldn't be relied on as it isn't free money. And ensure you payback ASAP. For me I even pay back before my statement comes, although some say its best one pays after to reflect on the Credit report.

My updated credit score grin grin grin, to encourage new comers and all the queries about building credit score. Its not an overnight race and requires lots of patience and steps. Took me 4yrs to get here and my advise is everything matters, oldest account on report is for my water provider severn trent and every account for electricity, Internet etc is also reflected, so not just owning and using CC helps.

I also have credit card accounts with different banks and ensure I only use what is in my budget for the month (mostly), so pls don't spend and not pay back and start accruing avoidable interest cos those APR values are something else

I watched the part 1 and the man specifically mentioned they used help to buy.

Help to buy equity loan isn't public funds. Its a Loan offered up to 20% maximum by the government which needs to be paid back at the end of the Mortgage term. You don't get interest charges on the loan until after 5yrs which you start paying about a certain amount.

The HTB scheme is basically a business making venture for the government because potentially they own 20% of the value of your home not the amount borrowed (ofcourse they make losses to,hence the regional cap).

Public funds are free government benefits without returns and the link posted earlier is the only categorisation one needs and it's up to date

Many universities should do this to help international students struggling

Agreed, De Montfort was one of the few unis that gave a decent amount like twice to thrice. A school like Coventry opened the portal and gave a deadline, only for them to turn around and say No more funds as it is first come first serve, despite still within the deadline application.
My advise, apply ASAP because some schools can be funny

The waka and not getting paid for it. You leave house for 14hrs get paid for 10hrs and not like the hourly rate is good. A lot do not have this information but it could still be a better opportunity for people coming in directly from Nigeria.

We many when they find this ...lol. sadly it been turned to serious black market runs. So many of the private sponsors are quietly asking for money. Big money self ... when really there a shortage of labour and should be the one begging you to work. Ms Patel biko sort it

Abeg when you see let me know . I am looking for, my village is plenty

It's soo annoying oo and hope it doesn't backfire in the nearest future. I don't trust UKVI for anything. Meanwhile the true shortage exists in domiciliary care and they are the major ones I see offering sponsorship right now. If you claim you are Lewis Hamilton and drive a car, its sponsorship straight up.
Regarding the courses, NVQ is health care can help but honestly I feel driving skill tips the application in your favour.
