PoliticsRe: Igbos And Lagos by fayomim: 6:38am On Apr 05, 2023
honeyB2018:
I believe God is about to do something that is beyond the understanding of any Nigeria, with the IGBOS. The way the IGBO matter has flooded the social media and other news outlets after this elections, tells me that something is about to happen and what it's, I can't fathom.
I pray to God, that it turn out to be something that will glorify God and put smiles on the faces of all Ndi Igbo.
People, especially those of the SW, have forgotten, where the IGBOS were before the war. They talk about IGBOS, as if they Igboman is a small fry in Nigeria.
I'm not surprised, because the progress and development of the IGBOS came to them as a surprise.
A people that lost over 3m people in the war, were economically written off, given only £20, out of their millions in the bank vaults, made to look like nothing, 50 yrs after becoming this prosperous, to the extent that there's no nook and crannies of Nigeria where they're not and doing very well, without being at the center, holding political power to influence things in the region for themselves..
Dry bones shall rise again. I pray to God, in my life time, the rising sun will rise, and shine brighter than before. People watch it, it will happen very soon, because OLUWA is involved.
Stop playing the victim, no one has the monopoly of God.
God created everyone and he is a merciful God. He gives everyone despite our iniquities. God will certainly lift everyone up and no one will be a bigger to anyone.

There's tension right now in Abuja as Nigerians are trooping to immigration office to collect international passports to enable them escape from Nigeria.

The momentum increased since the conclusion of 2023 presidential election.

Why are Nigerians running away from their country in this massive scale?
Stop propagating fake news about tension...I live in Abuja and nothing of such. What will you benefit by doing this

That immigration office has been like that many months ago so nothing of such

derealj:
So if it had stopped at 24 states of the federation it won't make sense anymore?

Is FCT not part of the federation. Which other country have you seen adding their capital as part of their nomenclature.?

There was never a reason to add that "and FCT if it was never compulsory to get 25% there.
Take for instance FCT wasn't added and the constitution says 25% in 24 states only, that means no election will be done in FCT because FCT wasn't included because it's not a state
PoliticsRe: Why The Law Made It Compulsory For A 25% In The FCT by fayomim: 6:24am On Mar 27, 2023
NothingDoMe:
Then the constitution should have simply said 37 states. For it to say 36 states means it doesn't regard the FCT as a state in this case.

It's pretty straightforward.
Remember when we read our state and capital...have you seen where they mention FCT as a state?

FCT is not regarded as a state that is why we don't have 37 states. FCT votes is just like any other states votes and not regarded as a special votes
PoliticsRe: Why The Law Made It Compulsory For A 25% In The FCT by fayomim: 7:57pm On Mar 26, 2023
LocalStandard1:
This used to be a simple and straight forward issue before the 2023 elections. But a situation can not be said to be simple if rules and laws set aside are not followed before the event.

Section 134(2) States that a candidate must (a) have the highest number of votes cast at the election; and (b) have not less than 25% of total votes cast in AT LEAST two-third of all the States in the Federation AND THE FCT, Abuja.

'At least' and 'and the' statements are enough for one just waking up from a deep sleep to understand an instruction. "Bring two thirds (24) and the special one".

But for those who say the FCT has no special status do not know the situation of an FCT and are not clear about the Law. Yes the FCT has the status of a State but is not a State. All Nigerian laws describe the FCT separately when Laws are made, Never 37 States but 36 and the FCT. Except....

That is why the Constitution, in all its wisdom, made the 25% votes in the FCT a conjunction in the Law. Without which a candidate can not and will not be said to meet the requirements. By default a President is like the Governor of the FCT, like. But how can he be seen as such and even have the power to appoint his representatives if he was never recognized by his own supposed district?
As Nigerian States went out to vote on the 18 of match for governorship candidates the FCT are expected by Law to have done theirs in the Presidential elections, and that is the 25 percentile requirement.

A candidate is not required to win all 36 States AND THE FCT, instead only two-thirds of the States (24) AND THE FCT. The Supreme Court was clear about that few year ago.

NOTE: Attached are pictures of the Supreme Court Judge who made an unbiased and neutral judgement and interpretation to that section on the Law as recent as 2008.

Watch and be educated
https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=43_mR6Z9-3w
Wrong wrong wrong

How do you expect them to put it...do you expect the constitution to just say 25% in all the states alone? The constitution only see Abuja as the FCT and not a state, that is why the and is added to indicate that votes from FCT will also be counted

Interesting times we live in indeed
One thing I like about this emergence of Obi is that is has corrected so many lies and propaganda about the Ibo which the Yoruba has spread for decades.

Truth always prevails eventually,no matter how long a lie has spread , one day the truth will come forth

As it stànds the Ibo have shown they are a major tribe with political might , they can give a candidate the presidency .
That lies about them being 5% has been bursted the lies by Yoruba that Ibo have no population has been bursted
Yorubas need to embrace truth and stop tribalism
You are wrong, it is the ibos that are tribalistic. They started it by insulting Yorubas and later the narrative changed and the Yorubas fought back with the same method. Now the ibos are turning the table round.

If Yorubas are tribalistic, they won't accommodate anyone, they won't sell lands for you and they won't employ you in their civil service.

You know the truth

We have listened and interviewed Nigerians across regions. Tinubu spells doom, big doom. Whatever will make Nigerians hit streets should be avoided. INEC's mistake can be corrected without bloodshed. Nigerians are angry and angry like never before. I pray for peace because war and bloodshed can't bring peace. If you doubt me, go out even in the universities and get opinions. There is anger in the land. If this latent anger bursts, the consequences may be unimaginable.
You are the one that is angry not Nigerians

PoliticsRe: If Yorubas Own Lagos, Then Gwari Owns Abuja by fayomim: 3:45pm On Mar 20, 2023
gidgiddy:
In a Federation or Federal Republic, the place that is chosen as the capital is supposed to be home to all. It is supposed home away from home for all citizens, that is why everyone comes together to collectively build the capital

The government of Nigeria sunk billions of dollars of taxpayers money into Lagos for over 70 years it was capital of Nigeria, to make it what it is today

With the 2023 elections, we were told that Yorubas own the Lagos we all collectively built

Billion of Dollars have been sunk into Abuja to make it what it is, nothing stops the Gwari people whose ancestral land was used to build Abuja, from laying claim to ownership of Abuja one day

Gwari may one day decide that it is they who decide the politics of Abuja and that a non-Gwari has no business with Abuja

There is no point helping to build something that you will later be told you have no stake in
Why not go to calabar and say the same thing

Yes they built the capital city together but you don't overide the indigenous people and try to choose the person to govern them. Do you business and work in peace. Don't interfere with their political ideas.

They usually talk about agberos in Lagos, what about the ones in onitsha, those hooligans yet they keep bad mouthing Lagos.

No one will disturb you if ibos do their business and buy exotic cars and build mansion but don't try to interfere with their political ideology or try to tamper with their cultural heritage.

Ibos too will never accept that in the east

Leave ur comfort zone and mingle with other tribe that's what National orientation stands for and if u are a graduate, i wondered what sent u back to south west after ur service.

I served in Nasarawa, after service i stayed back for two years in keffi B4 moving in to Abuja, uptil today apart from my Friends in school majority of my friends on Facebook and off Facebook are from Nasarawa and we mingle well.

I doubt if u can boast of that

Am very sure that you go to work and come back home and stay indoor. Or do you see people mingle anyhow here? You know that yourself . I came to Abuja to work and that is what brought me here and if the environment is not suitable for me, I leave. It's not a do or die affair

I have been calm in all these but when I saw my LI post who presided our CDs during service year who is Yoruba that's when I know something is wrong with this people.

To make her post look stupid, it was Yoruba folks that was responding her post all other tribe in her list ignored the post, this is someone that works with NYSC as LI that, what she post is against preaching of NYSC which echoes national unity.

That will tell u this guys are envious of the Igbos prosperity that's the origin of their hatred.
come down to the north, you will realise that the northerners prosper more and are stinkingly rich and calm yet non of the yorubas envy them instead we partner with them. But for the ibos they are full of pride and arrogant, they often go beyond their boundary in another people's domain and that is what happened the south africa that lead to the killings of ibos.

any yorubas in the east will never interfere with politics and you people see such as been coward but its wise anough to focus on what brought you to another state rather than dragging politics and rivalry with the indigenes.

i come in peace
