CFCfan: Benitez will be leaving in the summer. Mourinho will take his place.Hope we will qualify for the Champions league next season, from the way things are going, i'm beginning to get worried. Tottenham has just displaced us from 3rd position. The minimum we ask of Bentez is to qualify us for the champions league. |

Further research showed that alpina versions of any beamer are very high performance sports solution and prices are way higher than regular versions. The Alpine's are to the BMW what the AMG's are to the Benze. Smh for some of you. Ignorant is bliss really. This is a good advise that you should heed, b'cuz eating late at night and going to bed will Make you feel bloated with acid reflux at night, tired more than usual, and you will likely have trouble falling to sleep, thereby affecting you overall health in the long run. Eating late at night will also likely make you add weight, b'cuz most food eaten late get stored as fat in your stomach. Eating too much food, especially carbohydrates, late at night increases your body fat stores. Eating high-glycemic carbs (pasta, Garri, Eba, potatoes, white rice, sugar, etc.) right before bed will spike your insulin levels and blunt nighttime Believe it or not, eating late at night can also inhibit your calorie-burning potential the next day. Say, for instance, that you treat yourself to a pounded yam or Eba and all the assorted meat and some fat free chips at 9.:30 P.M. one night and are fast asleep by 10:30. When your alarm goes off the next morning at eight, the last thing on your mind is going to be breakfast -- you're still full from the pounded yam, eba and fat free chips you ate the night before. Chances are, you're going to skip breakfast and lose all the metabolism-boosting benefits you'd get from eating a morning meal. |
Manny4life has my nomination. |
^^^ Really interesting piece I tell ya. |
Horrible! Morally reprehensible What else can i say? ![]() The world is going to hell in a hand basket. |

The French foreign ministry has denied reports that a French family, kidnapped in Cameroon this week, have been freed. Their supposed release dominated French media reports on Thursday, after a Cameroonian military source said they were "safe and well". A French minister confirmed the news - but then was forced to backtrack. France's government believes the family of seven, including four children, may have been taken by the violent Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram. The family - a couple, their children aged five, eight, 10 and 12, and an uncle - were snatched on Tuesday in northern Cameroon by six gunmen on three motorbikes, the French news agency AFP reports. They had been returning from a visit to Waza National Park - which is described as a beautiful landscape, trodden by giraffes, elephants and antelopes - where they had spent the previous night. The family are reported to live in the Cameroonian capital, Yaounde, where the father worked. Urged to leave The French government has said it believes they were taken across the border into Nigeria following their abduction, probably by Boko Haram. On Thursday morning French media began to report that they had been found in Nigeria. "They were found abandoned in a house in Dikwa" in Nigeria, about 100km [60 miles] from the border with Niger, a senior Cameroonian officer told AFP. "They are in the hands of the Nigerian authorities." The French veterans minister Kader Arif confirmed the news, but then backtracked, saying there was no official confirmation. Cameroon's Communications Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary then said: "It is a wild rumour. If this was true, the Cameroonian government would have already given the information to France," AFP reported. After some hours, the French foreign ministry said in a statement that it formally "denied the information that the French hostages had been released". On Wednesday, France urged its citizens to leave north Cameroon "as quickly as possible". The French foreign ministry said on its website citizens were "officially advised not to go to the far north of Cameroon (the shores of Lake Chad in the South Maroua), and the border with Nigeria, until further notice". |
Nice one! What about death penalty for looters if public funds? ![]() |
BRUSSELS (AP) — Eight masked gunmen made a hole in a security fence at Brussels' international airport, drove onto the tarmac and snatched some $50 million worth of diamonds from the hold of a Swiss-bound plane without firing a shot, authorities said Tuesday. The gang used two black cars in their daring raid late Monday, grabbed the cache of stones and sped off into the darkness, said Anja Bijnens, spokeswoman for the Brussels prosecutor's office. "They tried to pass themselves off as police officers," Bijnens said. They reportedly wore outfits which resembled dark police clothing and both cars had blue lights on top, she said. Police found one burnt-out vehicle close to the airport later Monday night and said they were still looking for clues. The heist was estimated at some $50 million in diamonds, said Caroline De Wolf of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre. "What we are talking about is obviously a gigantic sum," De Wolf said. An airport spokesman said the robbers made a hole in the perimeter fence and drove up to the Swiss passenger plane, which was ready to leave. The robbers got out of the car, flashed machine guns at pilots and security transport workers before taking the loot from the hold, which was accessed from outside. Without firing a shot they drove off through the same hole in the fence, completing the spectacular theft within barely five minutes, Bijnens said. Airport spokesman Jan Van Der Cruijsse could not explain how the area could be so vulnerable to theft. "We abide by the most stringent rules," he said. The Swiss flight, bound for Zurich and operated by Helvetic Airways, was canceled. Swiss, an affiliate of Germany's Deutsche Lufthansa AG, declined to comment on the heist, citing the ongoing judicial investigation. The insurance for air transport — handled sometimes by airlines themselves or external insurance companies — is usually relatively cheap because it's considered to be the safest way of transporting small high value items, logistics experts say. Unlike a car or a truck, an airplane cannot be waylaid by robbers once it's on its way, and it is considered to be very safe before the departure and after the plane's arrival because the aircraft is always within the confines of an airport — which are normally highly secured. Philip Baum, an aviation security consultant in Britain, said the robbery was worrying — not because the fence was breached, but because the response did not appear to have been immediate. That, he said, raised questions as to whether alarms were ringing in the right places. "It does seem very worrying that someone can actually have the time to drive two vehicles onto the airport, effect the robbery, and drive out without being intercepted," Baum said. That amount of time would also allow someone to board the plane, he said. A decade ago the Belgian city of Antwerp, the world capital of diamond-cutting, was the scene of what was probably one of the biggest diamond heists in history, when robbers took precious stones, jewels, gold and securities from the high-security vaults at Antwerp's Diamond Center, yielding loot that police in 2003 estimated to be worth about $100 million. Antwerp's Diamond Center stands in the heart of the high-surveillance diamond district where police and dozens of cameras work around the clock, and security has been beefed up further since the spectacular 2003 robbery. http://news.yahoo.com/multimillion-dollar-diamond-heist-brussels-105956646.html |

In fulfilment of his pledge to the Super Eagles in Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr, (GCON), chairman, Globacom Limited, on Tuesday night in Abuja presented a cheque for N160 million to the Super Eagles for winning the 29th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations. The event was held at the Banquet Hall of Dr Mike Adenuga’s residence in Maitama, Abuja. Dr Adenuga also announced that a Range Rover SUV and a Toyota Camry car will be presented to the chief coach, Stephen Keshi in addition to paying for his official accommodation. He commended Keshi for his commitment, adding that, “he has done the nation proud, that is why it is important to reward him.” Speaking at the occasion, Dr Adenuga said “we are indeed proud of the achievement of the Nigerian national team at the Africa Cup of Nations. I congratulate the chief coach, Stephen Keshi, the rest of the coaching crew, the players, the Nigeria Football Federation and the Federal Government for this important victory which has rekindled hope among our people.” The Globacom chairman subsequently presented the cheque for N160 million, the equivalent of the sum of $1million he promised the team, to Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo. Responding to Dr Adenuga’s gesture, Yobo said: “I want to thank you very much on behalf of the team. You made a pledge to us just on Monday morning and here we are on Tuesday night for the redemption of the pledge. We thank you for everything you’ve done for Nigerian football; we thank you for being the number one supporter of the Super Eagles. This financial support you have given to us will go a long way to motivate us.” Speaking at the occasion, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, President of the NFF, thanked Dr Adenuga for the money and the cars. He said: “On behalf of the Nigerian football family, I want to thank you most sincerely. This relationship between Globacom and Nigerian football will endure for a long time. You have been very supportive of Nigerian football over the years, sponsoring the league and the national teams.” The elated Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, thanked Dr. Adenuga for his support for football across Africa, adding that Super Eagles have henceforth become Dr Adenuga ‘s children because of all the massive support he has given Nigerian football. Keshi stated further: “When Abiola was alive, he was the one giving the national team massive support, Dr Adenuga has stepped into that role and we will not disappoint him.” Marketing Consultant to the NFF and chairman of Pamodzi, Mike Itemuagbor, thanked the Globacom chairman for consistently supporting Nigerian football for the past 10 years. He said that Globacom had within the period spent over N9 billion in cash and kind to support the development of Nigerian football. Meanwhile, Henry Nwosu, a former captain of the defunct Green Eagles has expressed excitement that Stephen Keshi, the Super Eagles head coach reversed his decision to resign from the position. Nwosu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by phone in Lagos that Keshi had a lot to offer and that it was not the right time to tender resignation. “I am so excited and filled with joy that Keshi had a rethink. He still has a lot to offer and resignation should not come in now. “His purported resignation came in as a shock to me and the country because we were all in joyful mood and were not expecting that at all,” Nwosu said. He said that Keshi was a former player that had coached some African countries and has the experience to know what it entailed to coach his country. “I believe strongly in him and his ability to revamp the Super Eagles because he was a former player and had also coached some other countries,” he said. Keshi coached Togo from 2004 to 2006 and Mali from 2008 to 2010 before being hired for the Eagles. “I hope by rescinding the decision, this will help to strengthen his relationship with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the good of football in the country.” Nwosu said that Keshi had done his best and deserved to be respected for his achievements. The Super Eagles will represent Africa at the FIFA Confederations Cup to be staged from June 15 to June 30 in Brazil. http://odili.net/news/source/2013/feb/14/623.html |
