right let get the FACTS separated

good road is a good road

it doesnt matter if there is drainage by the sides

good road should be strong to withstand constant movement of vehicles

chikena

now there is another side of things

we should try not exonerate bad roads to erosion by rain or earth quake or pressure from busy routes

some of these road simply suffers exenteration; this is the main reason the never last long

for a road to at least last like 6 yrs there must be enough compact gravel in the aggregate before laying
grin ignorant ffuck. Exenteration indeed. SMH for Biafrans

djon78: my dear nnenna u dont have to be surprised, one thing I know is that in no distant time all this Igbo bashing will end.

in southwest it is only Lagos that we have huge population of Igbos, in breaking down lagos economy the seaport and the markets are the major attraction that draws the Igbos because a lot are traders.

1 this present government is working to decentralise the seaport so that PH, calabar and warri seaports can also be used for import, and with the current flooding in river niger, the river will be dredged thereby opening up onitsha and lokoja port.
2 with the way govt is working towards availabity of constant electric, a lot of industries producing for export will spring up in the east and this will cause a lot of Igbos resident outside the zone to come back because there will be jobs and opportunities

3 with decentralisation of seaport and industrialisation in the east as a result of steady electric, there will be no need for all those markets in Lagos so most Igbos will migrate home.

the truth is that with time there may be very few Igbos residing in Lagos and far north because a lot of changes is gradually being put in place little by little by this present government which will open the south east, substantial proportion of Igbos will still reside in middle belt and some part of south south like Calabar, PH,

only those that are myopic cannot see these trends but soon you will begin to see these facts I ve raised, then those other regions will eat their land while Igbos will be gone home.

just mark these facts i ve stated cos it will begin to unfold
You mean you will finally be going and I will soon be able to walk freely in Lagos without someone trying to sell me 2nd hand underpants?! O happy day *sings*

Abagworo: The way you people reason makes me wonder how old you are. Criminals are found everywhere in the world and that is why every language has word for stealing or robbery. The crime rate in Nigeria increased recently(from around 2003). Prior to that our banks had no security doors, there were no bullet proof bullion vans, very few pipeline vandalization, rare kidnappings, rare bombing. Rather than trading blames, why can't we ask ourselves how suddenly from 2003 militancy, kidnapping, bank robbery and bombing became a norm in Nigeria?

nku5: Try your best not to get personal with me sir.

80% ?? Wow where did u get those figures from oga. I'm sure its a contrived percentage but that's a dscussion for another time. Your brother just said that igbos introduced those crimes and I'm pointing out history and clarifying same. Oya look at my points and tell me Dr. Oyenusi did not pioneer armed robbery as an industry in this country or that shina rambo did not establish the first nigerian born cross border robbery syndicate in africa

Kidnapping or gbomo gbomo is not a today thing in the south west abi na lie
Dumb question. Oyenusi was executed along with a man called Onyazimo, Igbo guy and possibly master instigator of the crime. Sina Rambo's exploits were purely police propaganda as we all know. Why has the man not been executed ? He is today a free man, preaching the gospel grin grin

Igbos are the descendants of Cain, the first murderer . They are a cursed tribe and until you go and do corporate deliverance you will continue to wander about and be hated . Let me educate you further :

According to the biblical narrative in Genesis 4:1-16, Cain treacherously murdered his brother Abel, lied about the murder to God, and as a result was cursed and marked for life. With the earth left cursed to drink Abel's blood, Cain was no longer able to farm the land.Cain was punished as a "fugitive and wanderer"and Cain suffering from body tremors (severe anger). Interpretations extend Cain's curse to his descendants, where they all died in the Great Deluge (Biafra war ?) as retribution for the loss of Abel's potential offspring.
Source: Wikipedia

In conclusion better for you people to find out the "Abel" that your forefathers murdered and go and do etutu to remove the curse from your head. A word is enough for the wise.

How to make Egusi Soup

Ingredients

Egusi (Melon) seeds - 3 cigar cups | 600g
Red Palm Oil – 2 cooking spoons
Beef – Best cut and Shaki (cow tripe)
Fish – Dry Fish and Stock Fish
Crayfish
Pepper and Salt to taste
Vegetable – Pumpkin leaves or Bitter leaf
Seasoning – 3 Maggi or Knorr cubes
Traditional Seasoning – 1 Okpei (optional)
Tools I used

Cooker: Buy it in USA | in UK
Deep Pot: Buy it in USA | in UK
Spice grinder for grinding egusi (melon) seeds: Buy it in USA | in UK
Spatula: Buy it in USA | in UK
Chopping board: Buy it in USA | in UK
Knives: Buy it in USA | in UK
Before you cook Egusi Soup

Before preparing the soup, soak the dry fish for about half an hour. Boil the stockfish for 20 minutes and leave in the pot with the hot water to soak for about an hour.
Much closer to your cooking time, grind the Egusi with a dry mill. Grind the crayfish and the dry pepper separately and set aside. Wash the vegetable to be used. Cut into tiny pieces.
Boil the shaki, stock fish and dry fish in 1 litre of water till they are well done. First sign of a done shaki is that the cuts will start curling on itself.
Wash the beef to be used for the soup and place in a pot and start steaming at medium heat. There is no need to add water at this stage. When the meat is done, add 3 cubes of Maggi/Knorr. This method makes the meat cook faster while retaining all the taste. Also meat contains lots of water and you will notice that the water content increases as the meat starts to boil.
Cooking Directions

There are two main methods of cooking egusi soup. These we will call oil before egusi and egusi before oil. Confusing? Not.
Oil Before Egusi

Put 2 cooking spoons of red palm oil into a dry pot and set on the stove to heat. As soon as the oil is clearer, add the ground egusi and start frying. This should be done at low heat to avoid burning. Keep frying till you see the egusi getting drier. One sign of this is that it will start sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Now, start adding the shaki/fish stock little by little while still turning the egusi. When the stock is exhausted and you feel that the soup is still too thick, you can add more water. If your choice of vegetable is bitterleaf, it should be added now as well.
Cover the pot and cook for 30 to 45 minutes. The egusi is done when you notice that the oil has risen to the surface of the mix and separated from the mix. If this is the case, add the fish, shaki and meat. Also add pepper and salt to taste. If pumpkin leaves (or any other soft vegetable) is your choice, please add it now.
Cover the pot and leave everything to steam together for 5 minutes.
The egusi soup is ready to be served with amala, Eba (garri), pounded yam or cassava fufu.
Egusi Before Oil

This method produces a healthier egusi soup. This is because there is no frying involved.
In this method, as soon as the shaki, fish and meat are done, remove them from the stock and place in a different pot or plate.
Add the ground egusi to the stock and cook for 40 minutes. You will notice the clear egusi oil coming to the surface of the soup.
Add 2 cooking spoons of red palm oil, the meat, fish, bitter leaves (if it is your choice of vegetable) pepper and salt to taste and cook for another 10 minutes. Now, add the pumpkin leaves if is your choice of vegetables, stir the soup and turn off the heat.
The egusi soup is ready to be served with amala, Eba (garri), pounded yam or cassava fufu.

Enjoy. . . .
You no add ugu ... sorry i don see am . grin grin

Paul John: That's not the aim. It's just that we can't keep putting our lives at risk for the fear of food poisoning.
Over 70% of our local produce(agriculture) are from the North.
We've realized the future risk this might lead to, that's why we have to make this move

We know the rate at which the price of food increases on any slight crises in the North. Don't you think it's insane if we keep on dulling ourselves but letting this people handle what human can't live without?!

Mind you, it's the wrong way we took civilization that made us forget our heritage(agriculture).
I feel you my brother. The way forward for SW is agriculture anyway. It was agriculture that built our massive, and yet unrivaled infrastructure before oil doom came. Kudos my people. smiley smiley

cheikh: @OP, There is a topic on NL " Nigerian youths are lazy and do not read"-El Rufai.

Well, none of the so called protagonists- for or against Prof. Achebe have read/seen the now "famous" book. Some commentators have actually declared that they'll never read the book let alone encourage anybody to read the book they seem to hold very strong opinion on. Is it any wonder our country is backward? We do not think, read let alone dialogue with ourselves hence "close mindedness" amongst Nigerians seem to be the norm. How do you form/hold a strong opinion on a book you've never seen/read based on uninformed second hand opinions of half baked pseudo-intellectuals and qwasi politicians of the Nigerian ilk/variety. We are in deep trouble indeed sad. The book is clearly an opinion which the author or anybody is entitled to(freedom of speech/thought) of one individual(Achebe) but does that make him the final speech writer or mouthpiece of the alpha and omega/ for everyone of us? Please we should learn to chill a bit and relax. An opinion of an individual should not be the beginning and end of a story. I think that the brouhaha over such an individual opinion because it is "Achebe", only demonstrates/expose/indicate the parlous state of our national education system especially the absence/paucity of "History" as a redemptive subject for national cohesion. We are truly a troubled country lacking any sense of History nor are we willing to have a conversation/talk with each other without acrimony. Are we lazy, thoughtless or down right mischievous or what?
Will you read a po-rn magazine because you want to know the beginning and end of it all? One offensive picture is enough to make you throw it in the bin. Same with this book; one offensive paragraph is enough. We don't have to start reading nonsense just to prove we can read.
And by the way pastor sometimes we need to fight before we can become friends. It is good we are doing it in this way instead of carrying guns and bombs.

alj harem: That does not give any ethnic group any right to kill INNOCENT CIVILIANS aka Igbos as the case might be. So that case I support the Igbos argument which is, since it is a military cope then the military should be targetted rather than innocent people in sabon gari and co.

Now what CAUSED the pogrom was the taunting that the Igbo traders were doing in the north. Wearing shirts on how they ruled the nation, etc. Yes that was the cause. That is why FULANIS are pissed off

Now again what pissed the Yorubas off is the invasion Ojukwu did that was stopped at Ore. That made Yorubas from allies to enemies in the war. Also tribalism and superiority tribalism by Igbos.

What pissed the mid-westerners off is the invasion and colonisation by Igbo civilains. The Kedu crisis

What pissed the SS off was over ruling and tribalism of the Igbo leaders at that time. Aka Ojukwu, Nnamdi and co, tribalism from the pits of hell.

Now even at that the best among all 4 was the yorubas but it is the Yorubas they hate the most. That is why they say becareful who you think you are doing good to, they might turn back to stab you. That is Igbos for you.
Don't mind them o ! These people called Igbo are the most evil-natured people in the world. They never build their own homes. They just go occupy other people's homes and then they soon begin to claim it as their own and $hit everywhere they like. Dangerous evil animals. Let them try it again and this time it will be an annihilation . If you think Yoruba are cowards or stupid you will learn your lesson again second time. Ordinary OPC is enough to flush you all out of SW. Monkeys in human skin.
