I said this is how it "looks" not this is how it is. Grammar. No need to be defensive, if it works for you then good luck.

The name has also become an embarrassment . It should be changed to something more purposeful - like Abuja Bombers or Naija Lunatics. grin

Actually this post would have looked less contrived if the poster had used a screen capture which shows the browser rather than any old picture which could have been gotten from anywhere. As it is this is how the whole business looks :

Poster : Yee! everybody come look my site ; somebody don spoil am. Yeeparipa!

Everybody : Make we go look the mugu site. Him own don spoil

(people like bad news. So the site gets a massive 3000 extra  hits in a couple of days without a penny spent on advertisement )

I must also use this method when I finally get my dream site up and running  grin

Me : Everybody my friend him own don spoil too o !! Come look am http://www.yorubaland.org grin

Dis Nairaland don tire me sef. Na so so rumour dry full front page. huh

Someone said Naija folks in Lekki pay 2 Milla Naira on rent per annum and i am saying folks in UK pay 1000 GBP a month which pretty much exceeds the 2 Milla Naija folks pay in Lekki over 12 months and you are here disgracing your father's lineage on a public forum.
Why not invest in a strong rope, tie it to a beam and do the obvious?

How did you even come up with 27,000GBP? Do people pay the equivalent of 27,000GBP on RENT per annum in Nigeria?
The argument was whether London folks pay the equivalent of N2 million(8000GBP) as rent per annum and the answer is a resounding YES!!!

If you are so moronic you think 27,000GBP is 2 million Naira then your folks need to take you to TB Joshua for spiritual cleansing.
I don't blame you. . . . .I blame the CMD of Aro Hospital that allowed internet usage for psychiatric patients like yourself.

Yeah!! Rent is not cheap here. You can imagine I had the sort of mentality @Felifeli has now when I first moved. But after a couple of months, I realized it is actually WORTH IT To dole out that much cash and more each month, contrary to what  my previous thinking. In many cases, it makes DOLLAR sense to do so. I am even considering moving closer to the lake soon . . . I am certain I will likely have to dole out about 40% more, but in all, it is worth it to me.
Mind you o I didn't say it is ridicylous anywhere I say it is preposterous in Nigeria. While I was living in UK about a decade ago, my house cost 1200 pounds every month minus council tax. I earned good money so it wasnt impossible for me.

Kobojunkie:
If there are Nigerians living in Nigeria, and paying $1400 PER MONTH  and even more in some cases, I am certain that the Pounds 27000 PER ANNUM  in the UK figure is not out of this world. Just that I am not certain if the phrase "Average Nigerian" should be applied in that case.
That comes to about N230,000 per month by the way. Anyone Nigerian paying that for rent in Nigeria from own pocket (not from company money o) I join him in fervent prayer that his father's second wife should leave him alone.

People pay £27,000 p/a on rent and that is average? huh shocked

The word average must have been redefined, and I am definitely the one who lost out. sad

I agree with one comment here - there is an unhealthy need by many Nigerians to compare and be better than the next Chinedu/Efe/Mohammed out there. I don't really know how much value there is in such an exercise.
I think poor guy meant to say £2,700 p/a . That is what he pays for his room in Peckham. grin

Politics › Re: Are Nigerians Resident In Uk Jealous Of Their Visiting Counterparts ? by felifeli: 4:49pm On Jun 09, 2010
Anyone who pays that much "rent" in ANY country ought to be put in a mental hospital or is probably dealing coke. If you could pay that to the mortgage company for your own house they will roll out the red carpet for you.

Health › Re: How To Control Or Prevent Hypertension? by felifeli: 2:53pm On Jun 07, 2010
Mind you hypertension is often a function of age though and most people over 45 can't really avoid having some form of "essential hypertension". Check your blood pressure regularly and if you are given medicine use them. Faith healers could actually kill you on this very matter, and I advise that you listen to your doctor first before a pastor who is probably secretly nursing his own diseases in secret. If your hypertension persists for long without treatment it could destroy your kidney, liver, brain and eventually your heart. The only known sure cure to completely prevent hypertension is to get admitted into a mental hospital where they feed you sedatives everyday. grin
Politics › Re: Senate Proposes N15,000 Monthly Salaries For Unemployed Graduates, Aged by felifeli: 9:01pm On Jun 05, 2010
The person who brought this up is an idiot and should go and sit down and find something else to do ? What makes an unemployed graduate different from all other unemployed Nigerians ? Are graduates more human and other people no better than dogs ? Instead of making plans to provide more employment opportunities they want to increase inflation by giving out free money. I think it is guilty conscience that is worrying them since they are also sitting there in Abuja doing nothing and taking home millions every month, why not give also the dogs N15,000 each free money so they will not be able to complain again. Idiots

You haven't really exercise any bit of wisdom in your response!

. . .Comparing the previous responses with yours, wouldn't you consider it ironical that the same group of people you labelled as dimwits, good for nothing, loafers and sundry lunatics seem to have given advise that beats yours by a million light years?

I guess it's just a case of an ídiot calling the wise foolish.

The Poster asked for advise on relocating to Nigeria, and you are here spitting trash about his credit situation in the UK, advising him to become a cloth or car merchant, for goodness sake, do you have a problem understanding even the simplest things?

On a normal day, i would've simply ignored your senseless rantings and take you for a drunk until i read the last bit of your gabbage where you advised Poster not to live in lagos cos in your own words "the place is not fit fot human beings". . . .you gotta be on drugs!. . . definitely on cheap drugs

That was a marvelously chivalrous post. I presume that you speak for all the teenagers, loafers, dimwits and sundry lunatics and arseholes  on Nairaland.
Very touching post. Remain blessed by your name. grin
Career › Re: Relocating Back To Nigeria (To Lecture In University) by felifeli: 7:24pm On May 24, 2010
@poster
Do I think you are arrogant ? No.
But you have been far too foolish to expect more (or less) than you've got so far. After more than 100 posts committed into Nairaland it should have dawned on you ages ago that Nairaland is full of teenagers, loafers, dimwits and sundry lunatics and so, hardly the place to go asking any serious question about matters that are close to your heart and especially matters on which your life may depend  .
If you are a lecturer in UK I have no idea why you want to leave. Maybe you are just fed up with the place (as happened to me) and you needed to be closer home , or maybe for another reason. You must weigh your reason well though and determine what you want to gain from the move. If you are looking for same standard of living (?) as in UK, I will advise you to stay away - though a lot also depends on how bad your credit situation may have become in UK  in these crazy times. If your credit cards have been repo-ed  then RUN, because there is no way to survive in UK on bad credit. If you must return home really do realise that you must have another source of income other than from your lecturing job (sell cars, sell clothes , sell anything). And for God's sake DO NOT LIVE IN LAGOS. That place is not fit for human beings and you will be dead in two years. Guaranteed.

Please leave that child alone. It is certainly not unusual for girls to have crushes on older people. It is natural and it usually does not go beyond that. You people's behavior has probably put thoughts in her head and also humiliated her for no apparent reason. Next thing we know now some guy will try to despoil her and all of you will say she enticed him.
I don't get the logic. It is right for the girl to have a crush on the old man and follow him everywhere with her eyes . But if things suddenly get ugly the man is to blame.
