@tkb417 (m) thanks for your polite reply

OK, maybe i have been in d UK 4 so long. can u tell me how 1 can legally  make 3million in 3 years?

i have friends who do security work here and make close to 1300pounds a month. now, i must confess they dont particularly love their job but they have a focus. they share room with fellow Nigerians. so pay less for accommodation. they stay out of trouble, and r very disciplined.  so they live on say 400 pounds a month.  now if things work out well , and they don't get deported, we a talking abt close to 8million in 3 years.

i dont know the value of 8million naria now in 9ja, but its not rocket science that it would go a long way in helping 2 start up a business without having 2 call any1 chairman.
BROS, YOU CAN NOT GET A SECURITY JOB AS AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT . why are you guys getting so emotional about work abroad versus work in Nigeria ? I still don't see how you can live DECENTLY on 400 pounds a month especially in London -or even on 1300 pounds a month for that matter. Expect to pay 300 pounds for a tiny single room and minor bills in the cheapest rat infested places like East End and South West London. Transport will cost you around 60 if all you do is take the bus to work. So what do you eat with / 10 pounds a week ?
All again your calculation is that you are not working for an agency and your work will be regular. These days even agencies are employing a lot more SA , NZ, AUS and Europeans than Nigerians and other Africans so you can easily be jobless for months - and I hope you have Owo Baba as backup plan - in which case you are not ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT.

Sorry man but that was not a mistake. If the guy took his time to read the entire post before endoring it and forwarding it all around, he would've found out it was a fake article.

Cant take it light with peeps like that. That is exactly how false romors are spread.
Yes, very humorous isn't it ?
But it could easily have been you. grin

Ije004:
Behold the facts:
1. $10billion sent to Nigeria by people in diaspora
2. Hausa/Fulani people are rarely forced to migrate overseas as are the southerners
3. An average Hausa/Fulani graduate is more likely to be employed by either the state or federal governments compared to a southerner.
4. Hausa/Fulani people have been running the federal government for a long time, and their policies have tended to push southerners into diaspora.
5. This genration of Nigerians overseas would like to return home, because they have nostalgic feelings about home, but their children wouldn't care one bit about Nigeria.
6. Eventually, many more southerners may live overseas than on Nigerian soil.

@Naijaking, i couldnt agree more. Gets me wishing for a replica of the Berlin wall in this country.  Southerners will be better off.
And what point are you trying to make ? Many of us are always flashing the tribal card when we run out people to blame for their laziness. How many Hausa/Fulani end up with western education - compared with southerners ? They should therefore be rightly still treated as minorities and therefore encouraged as minorities are specially encouraged both in UK/USA . The percentage of Ogoni/ Delta scholarships compared to Igbo/Yoruba also indicate some special preferences  as far as I know. No sweat about that.

Nobody is quarreling with those who want to live abroad. As a matter of fact I know a lot of UK/USA citizens, especially blacks, who will give anything to get out of those countries - if they could find somewhere else.  If you must, then go for it as it is a free world. But do it properly not as a criminal. An illegal immigrant is a criminal if you don't know and sooner or later the law will catch up with them. If people only expend "just half" of the energy that they expend on doing degrading menial jobs abroad , on doing better menial jobs at home their life will definitely have more meaning. What sort of career does a Nigerian doctor have driving a cab in Chicago ? Pathetic.

Why would anyone want to live as an illegal immigrant abroad instead of living like a decent human being at home. I know a Nigerian  consultant doctor who was deported after 27 years in US when they found that just one  of his papers submitted more than 20 years ago had a simple error.

Another man Lou Dobbs was deported after 48 years living illegally in US even though he had a respectable job as a CNN host. See here

Get back home quick and  go to farm.It is better than sweeping toilet abroad.

Nezan:
@OP; EFCC has debunked this allegation.
See my brother. You should know by now that whenever public servants (or any Nigerian for that matter) go as far as to publicly deny any allegation you should know by now that there is a lot of truth that they are trying to hide. They may not be collecting by themselves, but they surely hire collectors and share in the 10% commission due to the collector. Ask them to deny that ; even ask Ribadu your two-faced "hero " to deny. Where did he get the money that he's using to junket about ?No be dismissed civil servant ?
But it is all very legal sha ! God dey.

EFCC has denied this allegation, so there is nothing to argue about.

Nigerians will always come up with one rumour or the other.
There has been no such denial. In fact EFCC officials have in addition been reported to assist their friends to settle personal financial scores - sharing recovered business debts  , by locking the hapless victim up until they cough up. Is this law enforcement or extortion ?

Now idiot Nigerians may be finally on the way to coming to their senses. You just like "big men" being put inside prison abi ?
Why do you think EFCC expends so much energy to recover debts ?  The single minded objective of all this debt recover business is to make millionaires of EFCC officials and their cohorts. Often these "recovery' contracts are given out to lawyer friends of EFCC boss  who by just sending a single demand letter to the debtor  effects a "recovery" and so qualifies for the 10% which is split between them and EFCC officials . Thereby a once starving lawyer  who is favoured by EFCC boss can become a millionaire overnight by recovering money that was never really lost. The sad part of all this is that IT IS LEGAL. This practise did not start with Waziri though. Ribadu did his own fair share and that is why he has famous "human rights lawyers" shouting his praise to heavens till today - because he has settled them properly.
My country people stop being fooled by fake people making noise about protecting the interest of masses, or interest of economy. Wolves in sheep clothing all of them .

I am proud of you Bros.
This is what are talking about. All we ever read on Nairaland is about frustrated dummies sweeping gutters in London and  tripping over one another to tell the whole world that Nigerians are useless , because they are themselves useless. Let's all begin to try and exercise ourselves positively and we will get there. Kudos to you.

OK the XP CD works now but it will not recover. I get the impression that the only way to go will be to reformat the hard disk as it says the available partition is corrupt. Politics › Re: MEND Attacks Lagos by felifeli: 2:55pm On Jul 14, 2009
russellino:
This attack has proved that NO part of this country is safe anymore. The government is going to have a hard time this time because who and where are they going to send troops and bombers to. It is a shame that our rulers still dont have the good sense to nip a problem in the bud before it gets out of hand. I pray it ends here because it is a symbolic victory for these guys and they are going to be encouraged by its success to try again elsewhere
Symbolic victory my ass !! Armed robbers in Lagos have had more "symbolic" victories and never pretended their mission. MEND is extremely worse - rape, murder, kidnapping , extortion, looting, terrorism, etc. Is this the stuff that true freedom fighters are made of ? And to add to their idiocy , they quote bible alongside to justify their heinous actions. Who does not know that the ring leaders are in the pocket of the government and the drug crazed lunatics who go around throwing dynamite are only doing so to get noticed and also included in the payroll ? If any of you is fooled that they are interested in "liberating their communities" you deserve pity of the lowest kind. Let's stop celebrating criminals .
