I think the reason why this simple case has been escalated is because o the usual victim syndrome of the girls people. They've blown it out of proportion and have made the authorities defensive given the attacks on their credibility, all in the name of exonerating a felon who happens to be from their tribe.

I think JAMB should just let this slide with a slap on her wrist. They need to understand those people are still hurt and grieving from their recent botched attempt at taking over the reigns of power in the country. They'd do and say anything to vent their frustrations from that loss.

I've thought long and hard about this case, and I am going to adopt a wait and see attitude before I make judgement.

At the end, I don't believe this is an anti-tribe thing, as JAMB has had high Ibo scorers before, no issues, and the girl who eventually got awarded highest socrer is herself Ibo. I can even remember the year when Ibos took top 3, and the JAMB boss then was even a Hausa Fulani gent if I recall.

Also, her looking innocent, and her taking first in all her classes means nothing. Like there aren't millions of Nigerian kids who are like that self. And there are many people who look very innocent, but are crooked. Then again, it many be she is an innocent victim, and JAMB's IT department has messed up again, considering the tales we have heard over the years of people getting one result and getting another.

But like I said, I am suspending judgement. This could be a forgery, or it could be JAMB realizing they made a mistake and covering their a dobule S before some angry new Education minister comes and starts asking for heads to roll.
