so we can start eating beans?

Beans is a carbohydrate food.

To know this, look at the nutritional facts on a pack of beans flour.

It may likely read something like this:
Carbohydrate = 21g
Protein = 5g

This was what I saw in one pack I used a while back.

So, you see, beans isn't a proteinous food but a carbohydrate.

Russia is currently running a war economy with booming production, wages keeps increasing and more workers are needed which local capacity cannot meet up. You can Google this information and compare unemployment rates in Russia, even IMF has predicted significant growth of close to 3% in Russia while UK economy is heading towards recession

Thanks for the information.

I no blame them too. The children of these migrants from Pakistan, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia etc... will now grow up to become home grown terrorists.

Jeeez!

But the momentum has been set in motion.

I heard that Birmingham is more or less an Islamic city in the UK.

Many migrants don't want to go to UK because of fewer opportunities to make big money, more people are even heading to Russia than UK despite the war in Ukraine.

You don't mean it sir?

What could be fueling this?

Do you care to explain further sir?

If not for the inferiority complex eating you up

What brought Igbo into this?

How can you say a woman that can speak Yoruba fluently, bear full Yoruba name and promote Yoruba language and culture in the series she act in is not identifying with her root ?
You are so delusional to the extent you even make bogus claim without evidence and jumped into conclusion with so much ignorance and stupidity.

She even Identify as a full Nigerian actress, you think a Nigerian actress can not achieve that much success but Yoruba are not like you underachievers, Yoruba giants will keep pressing your neck.

Uncle, as in ehn.

I'm so surprised at some of the comments I'm reading.

I have come to realise that many people online know nothing and yet speak with so much authority on what they know nothing of.

Folake that identifies as a Nigerian any day anytime.

I got to know about her in Bob Hearts Abishola.

Even in her interviews, she mentions her Nigerian roots and upbringing.

Even her co-star, the Bob guy (can't remember his real name) spoke highly of Nigerians when he was interviewed.

Unknown Igbo and yoruba actors feature in Hollywood blockbusters all the time. This right here is not news. It would've been news if they had been identifying with their roots like John Boyega or Chiwetel Ejiofor. These ones will not even mention Nigeria in any part of their biography. Stop all this famzing for the sake of tribalism. I'm sure that if they were Igbo, you would never have brought this yeye news to NL.

Nigeria is regressing daily and you're coming here to tell us about by force "Nigerians" who dont even identify as Nigerians.

Your comment shows you don't know who Folake Olowofoyeku is.

She identifies as a Nigerian. Go and watch "Bob Hearts Abishola" and see her display her Nigerian-Ness.

In fact, there are other Nigerians in the sitcoms.

Food / Re: One Food You Cannot Understand Why People Enjoy It. by ferhyntorlah(f): 11:45pm On May 02
immortalcrown:
Shawarma and Hotdog.

As for me, I choose my meals based on their nutritional values, not based on their tastes or their appearances. So, I so much like Editan and Periwinkles.

Noodles tastes great but I avoid it because it is not just starch but artificial starch. The same applies to Macaroni and Spaghetti. I rather soak Garri that is natural.

How did you eat the Abacha? Your claim is like that of someone who takes Pap without adding Sugar or anything else to the Pap and asserts that Pap is tasteless. Some bad cooks can make you hate Abacha. You may also hate Abacha if you eat the one mixed with the liquid substance called Ncha. The Ncha tastes like soapy water. I hate it in Abacha but people claim that the Ncha cleans stomach.

One thing I have discovered on this thread is that many commenters are condemning certain foods based on just one-time experience in the hands of terrible cooks. How can one say that Okpa tastes bad? I know at least 3 white men that like Okpa so much.

Another person speaks ill of Amala and Ewedu. I am not a Yoruba. But Amala and Ewedu do not taste bad. I must confess that the appearance of Amala and Ewedu is not enticing. I must also confess that the first time I ate it was in one local and unkept "mama put" and it didn't taste nice. But I later began to eat Amala and Ewedu after I tasted the one prepared by good cooks.

I like your sense of reasoning when it comes to your choice of meals and dieting.

You are EATING TO LIVE and not living to eat.

You too smart!

Thumbs up to ya!

No be only Niger, na Benue... LOL

Most Naval operations in Nigeria take place in the south-south and the south-west and this is for a particular reason. The navy intercepts ships, pirates and criminals offshore Lagos, while they intercept criminals stealing oil in the Niger delta... So of what benefit would their relocation to Niger State be? Which ocean is in Niger state for them to train with? cheesy grin

You dey mind the fellow.

santaclaws:
They can leave. Their main reason is reduced sales according to them and Nigeria is just leaving a recession, coupled with our fight against inflation. They're not the only ones who experienced a plunge in sales, a lot of Nigerians were forced to cut down on their expenditure and it affected businesses.

This is why the govt must support indigenous businesses cos all these foreign businesses have no real stake in the country. Once they can't maximise profit, they jet out. Only local businesses can bear with the country through hard times, just like BUA cement & Air Peace...

Well said sir.

When the situation improves, which it will, they will want to come back.

SMH.

Government investing in power projects is not a smart move. That was the genesis of all the wasted monies by Obasanjo and others. Same happens every time government spends money on refineries in the past. It's better for government to create a conducive environment for private investors and allow them to invest in power projects rather than using government money. An example was the old govt telephone company, NITEL, compared to when private investors like MTN, ECONET,GLO entered the field. That revolutionalized the telecoms sector. Government should do same with power.

You juts took me down memory lane with Nitel.

Those Nitel guys shows phone users pepper. They felt like demi-gods. Your line will just disconnect for no reason and you'll need to get to their office on time to lay your complaint. Even at that, they won't respond promptly.

You'll see Nitel wires on NEPA poles everywhere.

The days of analogue telephones: to dial each number, you'll put your finger into the hole corresponding to that number and turn the wheel closewise.

Mehn! Our folks tried sha. Thank GOD digital telephones took over. The days of Multilinks and Starcoms.

Starcoms...we speak your language.

Everything is time and season. Nothing lasts forever.

I'm sorry but, I don't, I can't believe this. Probably a scene from a film because unlike kidney and some other few organs, heart transplant would mean killing one healthy person to save another dying person.

I'm sorry but you really don't know how organ transplant process/procedure is carried out.

No one needs to be killed but YES a person has to die for their heart to be harvested for the transplant, provided they signed up for organ donation prior to their death.

Even if the person didn't sign up for such, the medical staff will try to persuade/convince the next of kin to permit the organs to be harvested to save another sick patient in dire need of the organ.

Organs usually harvested are the:
1. Heart
2. Liver
3. Kidney
4. Lungs
5. Pancreas
6. Intestine and
7. Cornea to mention a few

So, the very person at the top of the transplant list will be given preference.

If you watch Medical TV series, you'll understand the process better.

I was at Access Bank the other day and I witnessed a humongous crowd.

How about creating an online secured portal for all citizens to link BVN/NIN from the comfort of their homes? Rocket science? I don't think so.

Mr SQL, GOD bless you for your last paragraph.

Nicholas Cage did the same thing because he wanted to be recognised in the industry by merit, and not by family connections to F.F Coppola. Malia wants to be recognised through the works of her own hands and not because she is related to a famous father.

Same thing Angelina Jolie did.
She didn't want to be recognised based on her father's reputation as an actor.
