i have been married for almost 5 years and courted for two years, i have always found my husband to be very detached emotionally.  what i mean is he (makes me feel) like he isn't part of our unit.  sure he is a great provider but on an emotional level hes very into himself.  hes not very good at one on one time and Ive never been able to discuss things with him at a deep level, i mean i have but he hasn't got what i have meant.  i have been looking into this on-line and found that others too find Nigerian ,  dare i say African ,  men very detached.

why your husband is emotionally detached?  

You should have known the answer by now because it is no longer new to you. Please, do not draw conclusion

based on what you read from this forum. Women equally withdraw to themselves depending on the situation. It is

not a man thing or related to Nija men only.

However, my opinion is try and findout why your husband is behaving like that and address the problem, since you

said he is a good provider.  Again, why do you find it difficult discussing with your husband ? You can prepare his

favourite dish, then try to chat with him after the meal. Goodluck

My dear, try to be yourself but, don't force yourself on them if they later did not accept you, believe me another

person will come for you. You need a peaceful home and in-laws since you are not fire type Remember you

are not just marrying the man but his family too. However, that man you are about to

marry can talk to his people on your good qualities, it make things easy .

My dear, I have noticed it too. They tend to have similar character especially if they are raised in the same environment. I have decided not to name my kids certain names because of the way those bearing it behave. Horrible way

First time in 50 years a former Governor would be jailed in Nigeria.

James Ibori was Extradited to the Uk and will be jailed in UK not Nigeria. I believe close to the wife, girlfriend and co. It is a pity they will comeout before him

I agree totally with you. An Ibo proverb says that, "he that his father steals breaks door with legs". No smoke without fire.We should stop celebrating such shameful fraudsters and save our image.  

single life I'd advise that you focus on your career, create achievements for yourself, improve on your physical appearance every single day. All these things will keep you busy and your mind off your single status. And who knows, someone will get to notice you esp when you have made something of yourself. In short: work on every aspect of your life, marriage may then come before you know it.

I love your advise. Just to add to it. Please, remember that God knows you are still unmarried and has plans for you. I hope you will allow him to work when the time comes? Some ladies have long list of the things they want in a man look at your list is it well written or are you waiting for wealthy and handsome flashy man? Pray my dear and be relaxed the right man will come. You need the best and you will get him. Tell those people pressurizing you to prepare for your wedding soon.
