komekn: Giving praise and telling the truth are two completely different things.
TRUTH is one thing PRAISE is another.
It's a question of where you are, what depth of knowledge you have and what your expectations are.
What you see from your experience as COMMENDABLE l may see as COMDEMNABLE.
The pertinent question is what you anchor your COMMENDATION upon knowledge, first hand experience and or sentiment based bias. Truth or praise don't matter bro,,,,, life teaches us not to criticise everytime. It is a lesson you have not learnt and I want you to learn it. Criticize with discretion,, and sometimes, just lock up |

bidexiii: After so many years NNS Aradu, the pride of the Nigerian Navy is finally taken out of dock and back to sea. NNS Aradu was the most modern and powerful warship in Africa when it was inducted into the Nigerian Navy in the 1980s. Imagine what the Aradu has become. Smh. NNS Thunder and Okpabana are decades older than the Aradu; yet they are still strong and sailing. Whereas our own Aradu (that has nuclear bioligical and chemical defence) is gone. The company that quoted $250million to refit the Aradu, didn't want the job. Some Asian countries might have accepted less to fully refit this ship for us and give it another 20years. And it was naive to believe $250million can buy a ship like the Aradu. |

LaboPolitics: My advise to post-graduate students in Nigerian Universities- Once you get your admission, try to find out the kind of person your supervisor is. Is he/she approachable? Are his/her students doing well during Seminar defense, Thesis proposal/defense? Is he or she always around or gallivanting around the world in the guise of attending conference or another and yet won't allow you get an Assistant supervisor to help you while away?
If the supervisor fails in any of the questions above. Please RUN. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON TUITION. Find another school for your PGD, M.Sc and PhD studies.
I have two Doctorates and I speak from experience. Hmm, you have 2 doctorates , you must think we are stupid here. |

komekn: The core topic here is supposed to be discussion but not too many people want to have one.
A week or so ago, l asked for discussion to see what is going wrong.
The word ambush is not a death sentence. It's a bit like " No be who first report case to police deh Win"
In a war zone ambush should never ever be a suprise but an Expectation. And if it's an expectation you have a contingency plan strategic as well as singular operational plan to mitigate against it. That means you are PREPARED for the UNEXPECTED.
And indeed turn it around into an offensive opportunity. Guy,,,, everyone is tired of you. No one has time for you. You own clinical case is "perfectionist argumentative obsession" syndrome. Abeg, use iced block to cool your head or take a break from the thread like some of us are currently doing. |
Nairaland General › Re: Never Reveal These 6 Secrets About Your Personal Life To Anybody by FieldMarshall06(m): 11:30pm On Jul 17, 2020 |
Gjrich: The tongue is one of the smallest organs of the human body but can set the whole body on fire. Don’t think all the people around you today are your friends. You cannot easily differentiate your friends from your enemy when things are going well with you and that is why you have to control what you say to them .
Have you ever had a conversation and later come to regret it after? Well that is what this article is all about. No matter how close you are to someone, there are some deep secrets they should not know about you including your best friends.
A poet once said “look into the mirror, your best friend is the person you see in that mirror” so, some secrets are to be kept between you and you alone. But, if you have a hard time controlling your tongue, silence is one of the best ways to avoid this trap.
Please, no matter the level of intimacy, never share these secrets about your personal life.
1. GOALS FOR THE FUTURE
This sits top of the list because a man on a mission without a vision will surely end up in destruction. No matter your enthusiasm about your future plans and goals, never share them with anyone. Science says when you do this, you deceive your brain into thinking you have already achieved the goal hence you will feel reluctant to pursue it. When you keep your goals to yourself, you will always feel motivated to pursue it. Work hard in silence and let success make the noise.
2. YOUR INCOME
Your financial life is something that should be kept private to you alone. Your money or source of income is not something to be discussed about when in the public. Only some set of people like your spouse or next of kin should be allowed to have your financial details. You will save yourself from a lot of harm by keeping your financial life private.
3. PAST RESENTMENT
Experience they say is the best teacher but I tell you that it is the worst teacher because it gives you the test before presenting the lesson. No matter the situation, never make the mistake of sharing some of your negative experiences with people. Some people have many awkward experiences like rape, molestation, violence and many hurtful past no one will want to talk about. Sharing this with other s will always bring back those ugly memories and those you trust can even use it against you later.
4. YOUR SEX LIFE EXPERIENCE
It is an act of betrayal to share this level of privacy between you and your partner with someone else. No matter how you run out of what to say during conversation, never share this experience with any of anybody, it is between you and your partner alone.
5. GOOD DEEDS
You might have heard the famous “pride goes before a fall” and this is quite true. When you feel you have done enough well, you should not be the one to praise yourself before others. The reward of what your do in secret will always come back to you in secret. Don’t always make the mistake of bragging about yourself towards others. It brings you nothing. You will wonder why many philanthropist will always value their anonymity compared to public praise but the truth is there simply understand this principle.
6. FAMILY PROBLEMS
Don’t trust people with your little family secrets because it can come back to hurt you later. Family issues can be shared with one’s family member or spouse but anything aside this is not safe. Good one. |

If this can happen to a Senior Officer how do you want his subordinates to feel? I doubt that video was leaked by him, clearly it was made for the army high command but someone else leaked it to the public. It's even possible the man may have a shot at being the next COAS & someone wants to use politics to ruin his career. Make we dey see as e go be sha Abeg,,,, stop this nagging. There is an institutional standard of conduct for senior officers and GOCs.... kindly mind your business in military affairs,,, its an internal matter... let the GOC answer for his actions.....
