I am not a student of SH nor did I apply there. Proof of funds is mainly for one year only. That is, if your tuition fee for that year is 13660 then you are to block the sum of 13660 + 9207 in your account. This money can only reduce if you have paid tuition deposit or got a scholarship but even at that, please confirm that this payment especially the scholarship reduction is clearly indicated on your CAS so embassy doesn't find fault with your visa application. (left to me, even if you have a scholarship but you also have the complete full year tuition, just block it).

If your tuition fee is 13660 for the total duration of the course, that is 6830 per year. Then you are to show a blocked sum of 6830 + 9207. The only thing that can make the 6830 reduce is after paying your tuition deposit or scholarship.

I would like to get clarification on amount of money required as proof of fund for Visa application. My full course fee is 28,710GBP - 2years course. I have paid 10,616GBP to the school.
I understand cost of living is 9,207GBP.

Question: HOW much am I expected to show for Visa application? The balance of my full tuition fee + cost of living OR the balance of tuition fee for the first year (I.e 50%) + cost of living?

Need your response pls o! As I need to be sure I still have sufficient fund for Visa.

You have addressed the concern but what if the spouse travels with the applicant and later comes back to naija to work for few months and join the applicant (before she completes her study) finally afterward, will there be any future implication?

1)U can join ur spouse as a dependent while studying
2)After study, student can proceed for PSW permit of 2yrs but spouse will not be granted this ,if he /she wasn't available in UK before the course end date of their partners

I have applied for admissions into 5 schools.
My undergraduate discipline is Accounting (first class)
I work in the Finance dept of a Public Office.
I have 3 dependants but will be applying for them much later.

I have gotten 3 admission offers in the 1,2,3 schools listed below and awaiting decision for 4&5

1. Cardiff metropolitan- International business Management (free accommodation from cousin in cardiff)
Tuition: 12,500

2. University of south wales - Forensic audit and accounting (free accommodation from cousin I. Cardiff)
Tuition: 11,800

3. Sheffield hallam- Forensic Accounting
(hoping to apply for 50% transformation scholarship but have no one there)
Tuition : 12,460,
*IF* awarded scholarship; 7,230

4.Cardiff university - Computing( free accommodation also but too expensive , so i won't be accepting)
Tuition: 18,000( even after deducting award of 5k)

5. Glasgow - Data analytics for Economics and Finance (expensive but hoping to apply for full tuition waiver for First class international students)
Tuition- 21,000.
*IF* awarded scholarship; Full tuition waiver with stipend for maintenance..

Please guys for the scenarios above , what do you think is the best to go for, given my situation

My wife had 2.1, i beg how can she access "Transform scholarship ". The school fees is way too high!

For Sheffield Hallam, all Nigerians automatically get 2000 pounds vice chancellor scholarship.
You can further get Transform scholarship which halfs your tuition fee if you had 2.1 or first class but it is not automatic. WAEC is accepted.

My wife's the applicant. Already applied to Sheffield, no scholarship offered. Intake is this March. Read on their site that scholarship is for Jan and Sept intake.

Interview done and now awaiting their further instructions so she can pay deposit and receive CAS after the required docs had been submitted.

Interview was over zoom and questions were about why chosen social work, your study goals, branches of social work and then a live essay on attitude requires of a social worker...

(indomie, spaghetti, sardine, washing soap (both liquid and powder), bathing soap, custard, milo, very very dry fish and meat including, pepper,

tomatoe paste, enough rice, garri, beans, crayfish, ogbono, dried vegetable, egusi, okporoko, kilishi (plenti), bread, toiletries o, infact thank God we

took about 20pcs of tissues as the short stay accomodation only gave us 8 pcs that finished in 4 days cos we have got kids and flu set with enough

cattarh to clean every minute. add sanitizer (4-6pcs), wipes, vaseline, aboniki, rob you will be isolating for 10 days. i have only done 6 days and have

received two calls and three emails checking on us. dont forget to get your debit card if you have enough time, get USD or pounds card and deposit atleast 200 - 300 USD/Pounds cos you will need to shop for other essentials need that might arise within your ten days isolation. lastly add video games cos its really boring (the ten days isolation)

For a 2-yr course, is it 50% of course annual fee or 50% of fee for the duration of the course?

Myself and my little kid will be going with my wife as dependants to Sheffield Hallam as well. We're still counting our 28days before application now. The plan is for me to go and be back to Naija after 3wks to continue my job and join them later may be after few.months...since UK is still on lockdown and work there for now might not be feasible.

I am on the verge of accepting my offer from Sheffied Hallam - MS social work - having just received their conditional offer. My questions:
- The offer requires that I submit IELTS score and official academic transcript but I have only done PTE before (result still valid) and have student copy of transcript. Can i go ahead with this?
- How do i calculate the 28days of fund validity for visa? Note the required fund will be complete in my account by 10th of Feb. Does that mean I can submit my application by March 11? I plan to do priority 'cos the course orientation is 1st week of March.

Will appreciate your enlightenment please.

Instead of going for the Msc in nursing it's better u go for the Bachelor of nursing (graduate entry), which is 2 years. It's for people who already have a degree in another course. You can google the schools in Australia that offer the program. Western Sydney University, QUT and UQ are some of the schools that offer it. WSU isn't an AL1 school tho

Please my wife is applying for Visa soon and my son - a toddler - and I are going with her as dependants. Can I always come back to naija after they are settled 'cos i am not planning to resign my job?

If the school says GRE is optional; it doesn't mean they won't accept it if you present it. Infact most schools that are waiving GRE still use when deciding scholarships and assistantships.
So the onus is on you to either do or not. Many people get admissions without GRE. But the standardized tests are used when deciding who gets funded especially Teaching Assistants (TA). For Ph.D applicants, the best bet is to mail faculty and secure a professor, that way; if the professor thinks you're astute enough, he/she may disregard your standardized scores.

N.B: This is subjective.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to share the name of the school here and let people enlighten you whether it's a red flag school or not....

Is it a must to still do GRE if your school exempt it? I have PTE already...

Do you think the visa official knows or cares about which school is test-optional? Just apply to any accredited schools that's not an online program. But still do the standardized test just to have it.

Does that mean I can't meet up with Visa before then If admission is given?
