Eagleboney: but I thought the place was burnt beyond recognition The office building in the station, tanker truck, and some pumps were razed down, but not all the pumps were affected. Last time I checked there are about 40 fuel dispensing pumps in that station. It's a mega station, well lit and they enjoy lot of patronage because of their strategic location |

Travel › Re: FRSC Arrests Mary Ikoku For Using Google Maps In Abuja by firfinch(m): 8:31am On Dec 04, 2019 |
pocohantas: At the risk of sounding like one of them, I have to agree I consider the use of GPS a distraction (more about the way we use it). So many times I have entered cabs and the driver would stare at his phone for seconds to get the route. I get really uncomfortable in those few seconds. Few times they look up and make sharp swerves.
However, I do not think the problem should be the use of GPS in its entirety. The problem should be the use of handheld devices and its resultant inattentive driving. I would prefer a situation where it can be set before driving and on speaker too. This is a better option, since so many persons would rather not hang their phones.
They issued a statement to this effect recently. You can look it up, juxtapose it with your situation and know if your case can be appealed.
Seizing your car is going too far though, your DL is enough. Is it rather not better to use few seconds to set the map than to waste fuel and time on the road? The map has voice and notifies the driver ahead of time, in fact it tells you which lane to keep before you take a turn or whatever direction you are going. How's Google map a distraction when you have car phone gadgets? |

Duggedised12: But there are people way below him who are not even considering suicide. In my personal opinion i think some people's serotonin levels decrease more than other when exposed to the same level of stress which makes them more prone to depression. Same way some people are more prone to psychosis than others. True. Religious leaders have a lot to do. Those teachings to restore hope and courage in times of trouble and most importantly leaning on God when trouble comes. May God help us. |
Crime › Re: Paul Joseph: Police Officer Commits Suicide In Imo by firfinch(m): 8:44pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
Duggedised12: Is there any possibility that some people are more susceptible to depression and suicide than others? Cos it is said he was about to be promoted, to think there are people below him who are still holding on. He's probably not aware of the promotion. This is why it is important to make plans known to beneficiaries, to avoid things like this. |

simple250: The guy just want us to be quoting him . No steady power,No water, health zero . Imagine that. And to think of it, money is being budgeted naturally every year for all these sectors. Look at how people die of avoidable causes. If people get value for their money there would be no problem. I think we need to invite him to Nigeria for a #Good Time |

Daviddson: Very good! Nigerians envy the likes of US, UK, Germany, etc, but they're not ready to do half of what those countries citizens did or are doing that make their country so prosperous - a big irony! What's ₦50 that educated youths have been complaining about for months now? Do you think if French people don't pay taxes, VAT, etc, they'll be where they are today? In most developed countries, almost everything you buy or sell is taxed, so why the fuss here over a mere N50? People are resistant to the policy because there is no accountability. We have heard of SureP when pump price was increased with all the promises. If people are sure the revenue generated will be put to effective use where everybody can feel and enjoy it, they will not complain |
