A friend asked if it's not too late to pay the tuition around July, and hope there's still time.

Waiting for your answers guys.
Thanks
Well it depends. Let your friend check his conditional offer letter, and he will find a date he is expected to pay his first installment. He could pay his first installment before that date then the other installments will follow suit. But atleast the should pay his first installment before that date. If he has the full tuition then fine and better.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by fizzile(m):
Hey guys, please i need an indepth explanation regarding this 28days for funds to be in your account. Let me start this way:
I had my tuition and maintenance fee in my account two months back and i made part payment of my tuition 3weeks ago but was debitted last week precisely on the 17th of this month. The balance of my tuition and my maintenance fee is still in the account. Please do i still need to leave the balance for a minimum of 28days despite having the entire money for upto 2months?

Bourne007:
If you haven't gotten your CAS, no point printing out your bank statement mate. Funds must have been in your account for 28 days ending no more than 31 days prior to the date of your application.
That means there is every possibility that i might have to fund my account again if the rate changes on Oanda. This is no good news at all.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by fizzile(m): 7:48pm On Jun 20, 2016
Bourne007:
You don't have to wait 28 days again as the part tuition fee will show on CAS anyways. If you've got you CAS, you fit print and apply na.
Haven't gotten my CAS yet. My bank is really delaying sending my telex which i need to forward to the school for confirmation. What am asking is can i print my statement of account and keep for now as the entire money for tuition and maintenance was already in my account for more than one month the part payment was deducted or do i still need to wait for 28days. cc: OlowoB and Justwise

OlowoB:
Bro nothing to worry yourself about. Naira is already appreciating against the Pounds. I can tell you that it can never exceed 340 with Form A or bank rates. I don't also see the Oanda exchange rate exceeding 340 at the worst case scenario.

Please note

If the rates should exceed 340, OlowoB will not be held liable as what was written up there is based on my own forecast. cheers.
OlowoB,please I want to get something straight. Before I paid part of my tuition, I had both my tuition and my maintenance fee in the account. The money has been there for over one month if not more than 2months. Now,I paid part of my tuition some weeks ago and the balance of the tuition and the maintenance fee are still there in the account. Do I still need to wait for 28days? Or can I go and print out the statement now that the pound rate is till same. Please tell me ooooo,so I know what to do. Don't want this rate to affect me at this moment.

Please I need clarification from anyone that understands how Oanda works. The dollar rate was quoted at 253/dollar today. I checked the rate on Oanda and I saw 197.302/dollar and 283.182 for a pound.

My question is these:
1-How does Oanda rate arrived at?
2-Is it going to remain like this for a period of time before they effect the new rate?

I am asking the question because I have kept money in my account since 3 weeks back for the purpose of using it for my Visa application before the new policy was introduced. The 28 days mark will be reach next week end. So I am bit scared about thee new policy and its implication on oanda rate by the time of making my application.

Your response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Meehhnn am really scared too. Just imagining depositing money again and waiting for another 28days. This kind policy sef.

My account officer pointed out that if the payment of the tuition fees(form A) had not gone through before the policy was introduced the new rate may affect it depending and yes the official rate would also be affected meaning it would affect the maintenance thats what my account officer said as at friday. So fingers crossed till Monday you can also get in touch with your bank. Has your payment been received by the school?
As for my payment, i was debited then my banker said he will request for my telex then send it to me. Hope it won't be reversed? cos i was charged based on the cbn rate as at then. they actually didnt grant me everything i requested for sha. i just hope they don't reverse it oooo.

of the new CBN policy with respect to the flexible
forex rate on exchange rate we will use in

Will it in anyone affect or change the rate on

I was at UBA yesterday to do the transfer of funds from my account to school's account via Flywire
So I filled the Form A yesterday and added my documents

Me: Have you made any transfer to Flywire before
Bank: Yes, I have done a couple of them.
Me:How long will it take for my transfer to get approved and get sent
Bank: She smiled as if to say that's a Jamb question
Me: I know it depends on several factors but what is the average duration
Bank : I can't say exactly but it wouldn't take time anymore as the long scrutiny wouldnt be needed anymore. The CBN has removed the restriction of Dollar transfer. Hence no more official rate
Me: (Cuts in sharply) Does that mean I wont get this funds transferred at official rate of 199NGN
Bank : Yes it means the rate is subject to forces of demand and supply
Me: (Sounding dissapointed) In that case there may not be need for this again
Bank: Relax I will check the current rate for you
She then typed some things on her system and said : the current rate is 199NGN
Me: Is there any form of rationing done based on the demand for dollars
Bank: In the past ..Yes. But now... No as the restrcitions has been removed. If you have your money you get the amount of dollars you requested for.
She then scanned my documents and sent to Head Office.
Bank: You will get the debit alert once it's complete, but I have already generated the code for you at 199NGN.

I contacted the school made them know I had ordered some amount actually much more than my tuition to be transferred into my Student Account via Flywire to be used for Tuition,Living Expenses, Books and Insurance. I then asked how the credit balance will be refunded.
Here is their response:

cc: Purplesummer, DareFadi, Mekurrex, Holudarey, Oludare01, Fizzile
wow! Lucky u. Was charged 197.5 when I applied two weeks ago. Actually didn't get full allocation. Got virtually half. That means next payment will b based on the new exchange rate.

Pls has anyone here filled the Form A?

Did your school make use of 'FlyWire' ?.
I have a couple of questions.

1. If one one makes a transfer in excess of Tuition will one have the opportunity of getting a refund when you get there
2. Are you to make the transfer into Admission Office or Student Account?
3. How long did the transfer take.

Thanks

P.S. I know the school is in the best position to answer most of the questions but I want to know incase anyone has faced similar issue
Let me try to answer your questions:
1. First, you will have to confirm from your account department of your school if they will be able to grant a refund. Secondly, your bank might not allocate the full forex to you. I applied for 12068pounds but I was allocated just roughly 6500pounds. Probably cos of scarcity in forex. The best way is to split it into bits. Bear in mind that from next week, the rate will no longer be 197 for a dollar. If there is influx of forex,u could stand a chance of getting all your payments allocated.
2. Your school should be able to give u the account details. You will take it along with u to d bank, with a photocopy of your certificate, your admission letter,ur id card and ur BVN number.
3. As for the duration,it varies. As I write,am still expecting telex from the bank confirming payment to the school, but I have been debited long ago. U also need to keep in constant touch with ur bank to know the stage at which ur application is.

Okay, thanks for your polite reply, how much does it cost to get US visa?
Bros make i explain am the way wey a common man go understand. me i no sabi blow oyibo grammer as i no be US citizen. Now passport na that small booklet wey immigration dey give. the colour na green. wen u get to immigration office, u go kukuma tell them say u wan process passport. dey go direct you. then u go drop about two passport photographs, and some documents. it cost about 30k to make 64paged passport..dat one na for business people ooo or celebs wey dey travel ooo.. u can get the one of 32 pages for 25k or so.. cant remember vividly. it will take atleast 24 to 48 hours to be processed

Now for visa.. visa is like an authentication that u can now get into the country u intend going to. its more like a stamp. they get to stamp it on the passport. the passport like i said is more of a booklet with empty pages....so the visa is that stamp u get on the passport. to get to visa, u have to go through the necessary application processes... be it student visa, immigration, abii visit.

Atleast i don try naaaa... it depends on wetin u wan go do for US
