Good evening house. Was quoted the following size and labour cost for a septic tank and soak-away for a 4 flats building:

Septic tank: 10ft (wide) x 10ft (long) x 14ft (deep). Soak-away: 7ft (wide) x 7ft (long) x 7ft (deep).
Labour cost only: N150K. This I believe is way to high, how low should I negotiate it please? Thank you. Site is at Sango-Ota (Ogun State).

Is the labour cost for construction of bunkers grin grin grin

For the sake of clarity and anticipated future brouhaha,it will be advisable for him to lay the blocks close to the beacon showing the beacon coordinates in order to put to rest any future dispute that may arise

Sir is he suppose to erect his fence ontop of the beacons or within the beacons?

He has to align it with the beacon, better still the block should be able to rest on the beacon as I presume the size of the beacon should be a 6" or 9" block replica in part

I think tiling the kitchen/toilet wall and floor makes cleaning the kitchen and toilet easier. I may be wrong, but I don't think a white man will fry yam in a frying pan with palm oil it in. It can be very messy and the hot palm oil spatters on the walls and floor grin grin

Very correct sir, we don't really use all the kitchen effigy the white man uses even if we have it in our kitchen, some of them are just used to beautify our kitchen to make our visitors lealous when they are opportune do to enter our kitchen especially our wives,

I have a deep fryer I purchased over 5 years ago ,till date we have not even fried plantain with it

Property line is very important.

Spyder880 had to demolish and rebuild a very beautiful fence due to this on one of his projects.

Happy new year, happy you are back on boardto fish out more knowledge from your wealth of experience.

We learn everyday, issues of line demarcation or encroachment can lead to court cases if you are unfortunate to meet a terrible neighbor, so we need to be careful and stay on our lane when it involves land issues, some people will go to any length with you if you erronodsly encroach common 3 inches into their land.

Hello everyone, novice here please smiley wonderful thread. Pls I have a question, a friend of mine bought a plot of land in Lagos beside another empty plot. He wants to build a fence to divide the two plots. Does he need a permit to build the fence or he can just go ahead

He does not need a permit to fence his land, but let him be sure that the part he is fencing is not outside the stipulated beacons giving to him when he bought the land, please ensure he use the survey plan to get the exact demarcation of his land or else future problems is being prepared with his own hands

I see that public display of prices of things in nigeria is nothing to write home about just like western word use to do.
Such as
Wal-Mart
Home depot
E bay.
Etc

I can see that here in nigeria the the problem is some people have dubious characters, some are afraid of loose customers, although i can see that those who are willing to display the price will have doubted mind that his own product is genuine one and if he display the price some buyer will say the prices are too outrageous. knowingly that there are many fake product that looks alike with lesser price but which is not clear to the buyer

This tread is to showcase cureent prices of plumbing fittings and sernitary wares prices to the public.
Such as plumbing fittings , tee, elbow, control, taps etc
SERNITARY ware such as water closet, heater, basin etc with pics.

More so you can send your quote here and i will give you public advise and also see to the quote if its ok.

Religion / Re: Rev. Ladi Thompson's 2018 Prophecy About Nigeria: "Blood Will Spill" by Flaghouse1: 9:12am On Jan 01, 2018
Ronaldinnioh:

Nowadays, virtually everyone is a prophet, you do not have to be so spiritually grinded or own a church before you can tell the future. Especially for those who understand the system quite well, all you need are the obtainable facts in the environs, connected with history, you would predict scenarios and tell fortunes or its reverse. Possessing a church would have just been a faster way to money rituals, just as it is in virtually all the nowadays churches. The preaching for you to pay offerings and sew seeds is more than that of evangelism that Christ even commanded. The scientific predictions of marx, lenin, trotsky, luxemburg and many others, centuries ago, are very much evident around us today. They were not religious prophets, rather, social scientists. Without controversies, their scientific predictions are very much valid than those of our General Overseers. Some of who would prophesy by 31st December, only for us to begin to see the reverse and happenings different from their prophecies, as early as by January 1st, and you begin to wonder what went wrong with the validity of their spiritual endowment. We still remember some who saw vision of a prosperouos first half of 2016, and others who even said it was H. Clinton that would win U.S elections. The introduction of another fuel subsidy removal by Buhari government in the early first half of the 2016 did not only wreck lots of Nigerians, especially in the face of little or no payment of salaries, but, the year 2016 was a financial calamity throughout the year for mass of Nigerians, including the pastors themselves, by what the government tagged recession. My pastor was one who later confessed how the economy batterred his family. I smiled because himself had earlier prophesied a prosperous year.

What is hard for the religious leaders and followers to understand is that, what drives the affairs of any society or country, to include the fortune and misfortune of her citizens is far from any spiritual prophecy, hope and illusions. The economic realities determine those things, they even determine the so called religious participations. And by economic realities , we mean the activities of people aimed at sustenance and comfort, the level of such sustenance and comfort. The validity of the economic realities determining religious participation was seen on the sunday that preceded XMAS, how very large mass of christians had to sacrifice church service to queue endlessly at filling stations for PMS. With such an instance, one would undoubtedly agree to Karl Marx's position, that religion would wither away by itself with time and by the social reality which continually make people realize that solution to economic frustrations does not lie in the churches and mosques, but in the deeds of mankind to solve them. Quite funny, our churches prophesy virtually the same lines at every cross over nights, only for the same people to come back in the next year and hear the same lines, without their conditions changed for the better, even sometimes worsened. If, perhaps, better or worse, it must have been how well the people have garnered themselves within the biting economy, and not by the prophesies. The unreliability of prophesies would have even been confirmed by those whose conditions were worsened by the economic situation in the latter year, despite the G.Os' speeches in tongues.

I am a CHRISTIAN and I am also serving the living GOD. But, who and what determine the people's comfort in 2018 and the years beyond? To some, it is by begging and praying to government to make good policies, to some, it is by praying to God and hoping on prophecies for their success, to some, it is by waiting to vote out APC or BUHARI in 2019 to have a better Nigeria, while to others it is by organizing to struggle against the neoliberal policies. As much as the former strategies would resort into mere good wishes that may never materialise into realities of the expected prosperity, but the latter would guarantee all others.

The 2017 pointed attentions to serious crises in the future, in fact it was a prelude to more economically violent years ahead. With such level at which the cost of living has been falling the living standard of average Nigerian to slump dwellers, the ruling class is still doing everything possible to maintain their loots and raise more loots to keep up with their luxurious greeds. In achieving this, we can only expect more marginalizations and extortions in all establishments controlled by the elite class, more unpaid salaries and allowances, more underfunding and corruption in the education sector, increased poverty and crime rate, all of which would force Nigerians to anything devoid of morals to survive. Consequentially, for those who will be ready to resist beyond morals, 2018 is a year of heated struggles and agitations, be prepared! Many institutions are likely to begin fee increment policies, arguing out their position that it would no longer be rational to maintain the current fees based on the condition of the economy. The expected incessant increment in fees across tertiary institutions and victimizations that will follow will break out serious struggles of resistance too.

Rosa Luxemburg was correct when she said it is either socialism or barbarism. The international war and weapon threats against one country and the other is an instance, that without the people taking democratic charge over the economy and organizing a fight back against the elite policies of profit over the poor majority, the result would be lawlessness, bombings, burglary, and lots of more barbaric happenings. Or what can we say of the Nigerian federal government that is planning to expend billion of dollars on fighting insurgency, when people are owed backlogs of salaries, no local production or infrastructural development and cannot fund education that can engage people's minds from terrorism.

Sooner than later, the FGN might have to budget all its budget on fighting all Nigerians, because with the headless way they are piloting the country affairs, insurgency for survival would be rising from every street and every corner of this country. We shall overcome.Happy New Year!

What else can I say or add , you have treated this thread with surgical precision and opened eyes to face the current realities of the state of the Nigerian economy though I believe in the existence of God but some or most of our problems are not spiritually inclined rather a fall out of economic policies locally and globally having severe inpact on the standard of living in this part of the divide.

We as a people need to look beyond this attitude of " I leave am for God" , God is in control " et al. and do a real overhaul of our ways of reasoning/thinking with a view. Of getting results in solving our immediate and pressing social and economical problems.

"Food for thought"

For me I feel all major oil marketers should as a matter of urgency set up this refineries that will feed there filling stations across Nigeria
Because the only way to make profit with this small refineries is upwards integration business idea
U refine, use ur own truck to transport, sale at ur filling stations

This really makes business sense, the oil marketers would not want to invest Idue to the credit they enjoy from purchasing the NNPC fuels at the depot.A serious minded marketer would have taken this initiative and instal a low volume modular refinery to atleast supply 30% to its outlet and in same vein put in place a medium/long term strategy to achieve 100 % supply to all its outlet .

SouthEastFacts:

The problem with you Yorubas is nothing but Shallowness. To you Nigeria started in 1999.

Pre Republican era
First and only Governor General (Nnamdi Azikiwe)
First Speaker (Jaja Nwachukwu, Present day, Abia)
First President of the Senate (Nnamdi Azikiwe)

First Republic
First President (Nnamdi Azikiwe)
First President of the Senate (Nwafor Orizu)
First Acting President (Nwafor Orizu)
First Foreign Minister (Jaja Nwachukwu)
First GOC, NA (Aguiyi Ironsi)

Military Era
First Military Head of State (Aguiyi Ironsi)

Second Republic
First Vice President (Alex Ekwueme)
First Speaker (Ume Ezeoke)

Third Republic
We already know what happened here.

Fourth Republic (First 8 years)
First President (SW)
First Vice President (NE)
First Senate President (SE)
First Speaker (NW)

Note: The SW was just compensated with the Presidency because of the 3rd republic debacle. All parties were directed to field only SW, because in a liberalized election, Obasanjo cannot smell that seat. So this is an achievement for the SW, because their own preferred candidate, Olu Falae was roundly defeated. In essence, greater Nigeria imposed Obj on them. They were even allowed to that position as a result of other Nigerians benevolence and in 2003, Obj had to beg Atiku, his VP kneeling down to allow him complete his term.

Fourth Republic (Second administration)
President (NW)
Vice President (SS)
Senate President (MB)
Speaker (SW)
Deputy Speaker (SE)
Deputy SP (SE)

Note: SW was kicked out of the House after the first tenure. They were not allowed to complete their zoned 8 years. Tambuwal took from Bankole.

Fourth Republic (third Administration)
President (SS)
Vice President (NW)
Senate President (MB)
Speaker (NW)
Deputy Speaker (SE)
Deputy SP (SE)

Fourth Republic (fourth Administration)
President (NW)
VP (SW)
Senate President (MB)
Speaker (NE)
Deputy SP (SE)
Deputy Speaker (SW)

Note: VP is the only achievement of SW in the fourth Republic, a position they got by the benevolence of His Excellency, the President. When they tell tested theirpolitical clout and sophistication at the national level outside the benevolence of Northern backed political clout, they were roundly defeated for the position of SP and Speaker. For SE to get Deputy SP when they don't truly deserve it means they command greater clout and sophistication, and the North prefers Political Cooperation with the East than West.

Don't forget the 4th Republic is just 18 years. You don't expect all the 6 regions to produce President at once. 3 has done their part, 3 are yet to do theirs. When time comes, nobody will stop Igbo Presidency.

When it comes to politics at National level, SW are just crawling. They can't beat SE political records or ever catch up with them.

Well arranged analysis, are you a political analyst ?

The problem I have is that the Chat backup is never successful when I tried even before I swapped the phone, I dont know why. So this step can never be accomplished.
That is why I thought that I can just directly copy the database from the WhatsApp folders from the old phone to the new phone and everything will be good. But that did not solve the problem.
So now I am thinking the chat database on the old phone is corrupted but was still working.
So all the steps you mentioned have been tried... I guess I will just continue with the new chats to restore my sanity. Oh well.

Leave the naive guy to be selling tyres that were once rated the best in the the country years ago, if I were him I would have even work on the information and see how to grow their market share in the tyre business in the local league.

well, I'll make this as short as possible. I think the problem most people have with tithing is that they actually think that when they tithe they are enriching pastors and are left with nothing substantial for themselves. This is not the case! . . . "bring all the tithes into the store house that there may be 'meat' in my house". what does 'meat' signify? quite a number of things. one of which is Abundance. why do you put meat in your stew or soup? because you have the money to. some people even go as far as including fish, kpomo, liver, gizzard, and the likes. The Church of Christ is not supposed to be lacking in anything. you are not paying your tithe to your pastor for God sake! you are paying it to God!!!!!

Good thoughts ,the reason for the ranting may be because of the diversions of the tithes money by some unscrupulous elements in the church for personal use and in same vein enriching themselves,

I really like the part you mentioned :

Epilepsy was once thought to be witchcraft

such is the way of humans, they are scared of what they cannot explain.

My only pain is that, while China, india and the rest of the world are moving forward and making exploits, we are still left behind because of lazy and ignorant mindset like the Op who list problems that are being addressed in civilised society through medical means as spiritual.

what more can i say about a lazy man who has access to internet and books and can't do justice to upgrade his knowledge? Rly sad

Thinkers are taking us to the future exploring space, while religious ignoramous will open their jaws to the pray the sky screaming endtime.

well my only joy is that, a future will come the world will be so advanced and populated with intelligent beings and the likes of the op would ve gone into extinction and will be remembered only in history books as men who took us back to cave age.

Well said bro!

Though certain things are beyond the physical realm and needs the intervention of God to resolve, the list of things the OP mentioned are medical related issues that can be resolved with drugs or healthy life style, while others require self will and determination to achieve,we in this part of the divide are backward in terms of technological advancement I doubt if in some years to come some of our youths will really be backward educationally.
