When the news first broke that the Federal Government has decided to posting all Corp members either to the education or farming sector of the country a lot of people spoke out, accusing the government of losing the original focus of the scheme which was for national integration and furtherance of what was learnt back in school. Well it seems the Federal Government has decided to back track on its original decision and ensure that corps members obtain work experience relevant to their academic qualifications; by this the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has decided that from the next batch of positing Corp members would not be sent only to schools and farms. Graduates of medicine would therefore be posted to hospitals and health centers, law graduates would be posted to Ministries of Justice, law chambers and Legal-based NGOs, just like others would be posted to organisations where their academic qualifications would be deployed to use. Graduates of Education and single honours would be deployed to schools under the new policy. The policy was adopted last year after the realisation that most organisations, especially in the private sector, take advantage of the scheme to keep their wage bill low as they do not make any effort to retain any corps members who served with them; rather they would throw them into the labour market and demand for fresh corps members. The Chairman of the Board of the NYSC, Chief Gordon Bozimo, made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with THISDAY where he noted that the NYSC would not allow private sector organisations to take advantage of its CMs anymore. This, he added, would be done through the demand and signing of an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with any private sector organisation that demands for corps members to retain a certain percentage of the corps members at the end of the service year. “If an organisation writes us to send corps members to them, it means they have need for manpower; these are graduates, they are educated, they are not clerks, so if we are send 50 corps members, the organisation would sign an MoU to retain at least, let’s say 30 percent. That will also make the corps members know they have something at stake, they have to show good example and work hard,” he said. This arrangement, he clarified does not, however, mean that such CMs at the end of their service year would not undergo the aptitude tests of the organisations if they have those as requirement for full employment. Bozimo added that it is counter-productive to send a doctor to teach in a school as a year of teaching cannot be considered as relatable work experience for such doctor. “In some schools, you get more corps members than full time teachers, so we are hoping that by the next batch, we would send corps members to where their expertise would be appropriate,” he added. The Board Chairman disclosed that the NYSC is working with state governments to improve the living conditions in the camps that need improvements especially in terms of security, power and water supply to the camps. http://corpr./2013/07/22/fg-backtracks-on-nysc-posting-scheme/

OLAADEGBU: You better get out of the bus that is going in the wrong direction.Tell am o! |
Yea! The Tecno phones are good. But I want to warn, NEVER BUY A BRANDED PHONE! Example of such is the ETISALAT Tecno P3 branded phone. They won't tell you before buying that 1) the first sim is lockeked to their network 2) You can use any other sim on sim 2 but that is only when sim 1 is inserted. Meaning sim 2 can't work until there is a sim on sim 1 3) It is only on sim one that you can browse 4) You can not use their BB subscription on Android unlike MTN and Airtel 5) You can only use their easyflex or easyblaze which is 1000 for 100MB which will definitely finish before the end of 3 days. However, though I've made the mistake of buying the phone, I believe the following are possible solutions to the problem (I don't give up easily on any problem or challenge; I love solutions) 1) I intend to contact them and gently ask if they could unblock the phone or sim slot to use other network probably for a fee. (30 percent chances of working) 2) Rooting the phone and try to unblock it. I'm still researching if this one will work at all. Please if you know that it will work, kindly help me out. 3) Disabling sim one (after phone start up and data is on). This will make the data connection switch automatically to sim 2 but sim 2 can only make use of GPRS and not 3G (tried this today and it worked). This can still be managed but with MTN, browsing may be slow in some areas except Airtel which has a better browsing network. 4) Selling the phone. I bought it for 12,000 and after using for 2 weeks, I'm willing to sell for 10,000. So good luck in choosing your phone wisely. And if you have more solutions that can help me out, feel free to give. Thanks. |

Pastor Olu T: LovelyThanks! I pray it touches souls and heal lives! |
This is quite revealing and simple. Just read on and follow me lets enter d place From any part of Lagos city (or any city, town or village), you will have to get to the first bus stop called RECOGNITION! Now beware because some bus conductors may actually deceive you or lure you into missing your destination. Now hear this, some conductors (using the agbero accent) may call it “riconisurrn” “riconisurrn”! But shine ya eye well well, you should see ‘Romans 3:23 FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD’. When you know this, then you’ll safe, really safe! From RECOGNITION, you’ll get to the next bus stop ABSOLUTION! Biko o it may sound like ‘asolusurrn’ from (you know na) our people’s mouth but no shaking! Just check out for ‘Romans 6:23 FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH…’ What an absolute statement! This means that sin has brought eternal death and separation from God and the eternal death is hell. Fortunately, the next bus stop brings hope. REDEMPTION is the next stop you’ll encounter! Don’t worry; this is how to know when you’ve gotten there. Look at the 16th roll of the 3rd line at the top of the bus stand called John. Believe me, you’ll see it because it reads “FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.” This life erases the death brought by sin and this is so everlasting. Isn’t that awesome?! The next stop is SALVATION! Yes, SALVATION. Because you can be saved!!! Just read: Romans 10:13 says “FOR WHOSOEVER CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED”. What situation are you in today? What is your relationship with the creator looking like? Are you lost? Dejected? Depressed? ARE YOU BORN AGAIN? Right now, even as you’re reading this, you can be saved! Please say this prayer carefully and sincerely: Father, I come to you as a sinner. I committed the sins in ignorance of your word. But today, I repent of them. Forgive me my sins, wash me clean with your Son’s precious blood. Write my name in the book of life and come into my heart. Lord Jesus, Thank you for saving me in Jesus name (Amen). Congratulations! You are a confirmed passenger of the BRT (BLOOD of JESUS through REDEMPTION as a TESTIMONY) bus and you’re headed for heaven direct! bebe2: for a country with high rate of unemployment, why are there no job agencies. a company that will have a list of candidates on their books, have their qualifications and references that can be refered to wen employers need them,I guess you've not tried J o b b e r m a n (dot) com. They have over 200,000 CVs in their data base from all over the country! Contact them, tell them the state, the position, the years of experience and you're good to go! |
Sherlock Holmes: You must be new to Nigeria or have been on an island on faraway land. Here, the Police have no business with BH, e pass their power so they have resorted to turn to harmless civilians. The SSS and the Soldiers are those you can talk about when it concerns BH the main koko. berem: Come back and do what? have you heard of Nigeria Police kill Boko Haram members?I'm not new to naija o o! Dem born moi tee tee for hia! What I mean is that at least they can discover arms and devices when they are being transported. When D boko guys were discovered at Ijora, who would blived before then that such could be there. Abi no be the same highway dem pass (only that it was in a fuel tanker). But with the police on the way to make those searches with interior motives, probably the West (or Third Mainland bridge its poeple and the likes) can be saved again |
Stallion77: Return Of Illegal Police RoadblocksDon't you think they have to come back? With the Boko Haram misfortune of Nigeria on the increase, we even need more! But I totally condemn the extortion. Please those extortionists should be arrested. We need genuine policing... |
Hi. I really want to get a dictionary for my laptop and I'm just confused on which one to get. Nairalanders, I need advice please. Thanks! |
Aaronrod: Forget. Picture Lies a Lot.Yes o! My brother. This thing na photoshop design. Take a look at the Lion. There's a white feathering on every side of it if you look closely. The lion was inserted in the picture and well positioned as if the bull by the side came out from the bush unexpectedly! |
Emodeee: @everyone i just realized ntwrk providers charge #27/min to other ntwrk...nd some peeps av been posting #12/min to other ntwrk...who's wrng or right?Same here. Tried it on etisalat. I said that person is one of the telecommunication network agents. |
Basically for those who have a spouse or are engaged, they make a whole load of calls that's necessary to keep a relationship going. Now my question is: what is the cheapest plan to be on for those who must call their spouse at least twice a day? And for the MTN agents, why the hell did you guys stop the magic number call thingy? Tip for telecommunication networks for the forthcoming NCC plan, get something like the magic number promo on board. Possibly put it at N200 for a week and see subscriber influx miracles! |
amblors: @OP are u serious? Call rates very high? I remember when calls used to be N50/min, when call centres use card booster or whatever twisted name the network providers called it.This guy must be MTN, AIRTEL or GLO agent or he's working in Shell. |
Al-Aguns:So you think I or even the OP would have the time to read all these? If she needed all these, google would have sufficed. We Nigerians just talk too much. Afterall it's the same thing all have been saying. |
