Well I served in osun state and won the MR Macho contest. Osun is a peaceful and strees free place to serve. If given d opportunity, I will serve dere again. For dose influencing their postings witout having a strong ground in where they r going to especially places like Lagos and Abuja, am sorry for u guys. I have moved to almost 18 states in d country and I can confidently tell you abt d way tins are in some regions. For dose posted to Kano, Don't be scared as tins r calm 4 nw. Got frnds currently serving in other nothern parts and tins r calm dere too. D only tin u nid to do while in d north is to mind d way u talk n knw who u relate with. Jst mind ur business. Shikenah!!!

I posted the message below for ma former class peeps. We call ourselves Giant Communicators! This may help any one who is presently nt feeling to good about the state posted to. . . and generally everyone
Giant Communicators! Though it seems the nation has placed a divide on us, we know our spirit is ONE! No matter which state you're going to, have it in mind that there's sumtin for u to hold on to, affect, impact, change, savour, and most importantly weld for a better and brighter future ahead of us. To our brothers, sisters, loved companions, and bossom friends of worth draged to the North; to our communicators of skill, whose friedship and care indeed has been truly felt and desired and are directed to where was never required; to the suposed lucky n favoured ones whose smiles and grin forms a magmanimous and beaming sunlight rays of happiness in our heart anytime we remember them from far away miles; and finally to our beloved mates n cherished companions with blistering sense of worth to us who were never pale bcuz they know where to sail; PLEASE JUST KNOW THIS,
Our hearts as a team we must hold 2gether as steam. If we must roll down tears, let it be d fears dat we let go and the spears that we prepare for the challenges ahead. If we must be sad, let it be a sign of mad rusty crusts of uncertainty dat we let go n look forward to fulfilment onward. If we must be happy, let it be a sloppy path we're taking to a destination where we shall see each other once again n never be at sea. If we must be disappointed, let it be a disapproval at our bad wishers n let them know dat there's always a place of greatness so appointed. If we must be sober, let it be a sign dat we do not slumber and are aware of the hardwork garments we have to wear. And if we are so so excited, let caution be highlighted even as we are delighted that all shal be exhalted!
Hold on to what u know, increse ur knowledge like a rolling snow. Its just one year, not of fear, tears or wear n tear; but a one year of good, prevailing and wonderful experiences and possesions cuz the earth is the Lords and the fulness thereof, THE WORLD AND THE THAT DWELLS IN IT! For Isaiah 45 vs 3 states that the Lord shal make the crooked paths straight for our sakes cuz he neva fails! FORGET HIM NOT!
We shall continue to network anyway we can and always comunicate even if theres a barn ful of dificulties!
I LOVE YOU ALL, GIANT COMM LOVES YOU MORE, GOD LOVES YOU MOST.
Go and TAKE CHARGE!!!

@Fleps. U wouldn‘t need to spend much in camp. U can be comfortable with far less than 10k, especially if u‘ll be willing 2 eat what‘s offered from the camp kitchen. Back then in Oyo camp, d food was good, so I didn‘t spend much in mami mkt.
Besides, ur first month allowance will be paid in camp(around d 3rd wk) and bicycle allowance too(this will come much earlier). I hope this helps.
BTW, I notice u‘re very spiritual.
Thanks 4 ur response! So i guess 5000 won't be too small then.

Good Post! Am also joining da Batch A dis year n ma cal up leta is nex wik. Now for my question! Plz lets just b realistic here. . . How much is actually a realistic amount to take to camp? Lets get d stats: I will nt spend much time in Maimi or watever its cald. . . I wil enjoy maself there wit d cool air, music etc or at list a bottle of malt once in two days (as EXAMPLE O O!). Bt lavishing cash there? No go area 4 me! Most of ma time wil be with d felowship i will join and am sure l'l be posted to where i'l be at home wit da camp food cuz GOD worked my posting/service for me so i have faith in him!
So how much wil b realistic cuz nt all have much to spend. Som of us r fresh August/December graduates n even January, strike for almost half d month didnt alow us get temporary jobs to fiddle wit (ma case sha) n at d same time hopes to suport family wit d Alawee (so i heard its cald). Dats y GOD worked my service anyway.
Finally, biko, joor, how much is realistic n won't make u steal (nt an option 4 me though) for those who dint take up to 10k to camp. I also hope to build a friendly, moral, godly relationship wit ladies too as it wud help me improve confidence, self esteem n control of my emotions! Thanks! Timely thread indeed!

Jobs/Vacancies10 Ways E-mail Can Derail Your Job Chances by fleps(op): 4:26am On Feb 23, 2012
Job seekers often spend
hours perfecting their
resumes and agonizing over
their cover letters, and then
blow it all by sending an
email that comes across as
unprofessional. Here are 10
ways that a single email can
ruin your chances of getting
an interview or job.
1. Sharing an email account
with a spouse. Employers
don’t want to feel like they are
emailing job-related
correspondence to your
significant other. If your email
address makes it clear that
someone shares it with you
then it’s time to get your own
separate account for job-
searching. They’re free, after
all.
Unprofessional email
signature
2. Using an unprofessional
email signature. If your email
signature contains political or
religious messages, long
quotations, or inspirational
messages, you risk turning
off your recipient and
signaling that you don’t know
what’s appropriate for
professional
communications.
3. Using unusual fonts.
There’s a fairly narrow range
of acceptable fonts for emails.
If you’re using Comic Sans,
you’re going to come across
as unprofessional and a bit
uncomfortable with
technology. A good email
font is one that doesn’t make
the reader think about what
font you used.
4. Using email stationery.
Email isn’t a written letter; it
doesn’t require stationery.
Using borders of flowers
around your email text looks
tacky and unprofessional.
5. Making recipients jump
through anti-spam hoops to
respond. We all want to get
less spam, but if you make
someone fill out an anti-spam
form to get their email
through to you, then you
might find that some
employers just don’t bother.
6. Not checking your spam
folder. If you’re conducting a
job search, make sure that
you check your spam folder
every day. A surprising
number of emails from
employers can end up in
there. You might sit around
wondering why no one has
gotten back to you when in
fact there is a response or
two in your spam folder right
now. Go look.
7. Sending one email with
your resume and cover letter
to multiple employers.
Whether you put them all in
the “to” line or bcc them all,
there’s no better way to
signal that you’re just mass-
mailing your materials out,
rather than conducting a
customized, targeted job
search.
8. Having an unprofessional
address. If you like to
traverse the Web as “Sexy
Mama” or “Partying Paul,” get
a different email address for
job searching. Addresses like
these are so unprofessional
that they will trump anything
else about your application.
9. Formatting your email like
a business letter. When
you’re sending business
correspondence through
postal mail, you should
include the date, your
address, and the recipient’s
address at the top of the
letter. However, when you’re
emailing someone, there’s no
need to include any of that
information, and doing so
makes you look like you
don’t use email much.
10. Using your work account
to apply for other jobs. A
surprising number of resume
submissions come from
candidates’ current work
email address. If you’re using
work time to search for
another job, employers will
assume you’ll do the same to
them.

Am just baffled n curious to know why? Believe me, i've read over 20 youth corp threads, stories, adventures, and tales; the humorous, amorous, hillarious, ridiculous, etc on nairaland and other websites, through google search. Am due to serve by March and i have the right info i need as regards registration, camp life, sex rampages, community development, pop, ppa, and NCCF, yes NCCF!
Only two stories out of hundred mentioned it but did not go deeply or the story tellers were nt deeply involved with d the fellowships. Please i just want to read stories on this thread concerning your involvement with d fellowships! Any icy story wil do: your experience with God during feloships, ur involvement in d leadership, did u meet ur spouse there? Were u saved there? Did ur life change by one on one contact with any felowship member? Any scandalous activity? Any funny story? Spiritual upliftment, blessings, divine connections? Answered prayers? Please gist me abeg. . . AJUWAYAS!!! (old or current)

tanimola22:
I understand and completely empathize with you. You will be rewarded with excellent grades in your graduate school(hope you register to attend one).

However, what makes you feel that every secondary school near Unilag is not full of Unilag students jacking their heads off? And what makes you feel that there are no sadists at the departments of Engineering in Unilag? Man, please go there and see things for yourself. Many people say crazy things about Unilag students and graduates; things that are really not so good. Only God knows where they got such stories from. I don't know whether other top graduates from other naija schools are actually excellent in reality or not, but what I know is that if you do very well in Unilag, you will do very well elsewhere. If you are excellent in Unilag, you will be excellent elsewhere. This has been consistently proven over the years.

The very top graduating students all strove and merited what they got. Do a survey if you have the time. Watch their future GRE scores and their future GPAs at the top schools in the US and UK. You will almost surely agree with what I am saying. Although Unilag students and alumni are among the most sociable students that Nigeria can boast of, they are equally not sick academically. We believe in working hard and playing very hard. We also have professors who are themselves very successful and happy to see their students aim to be successful. In the same vein, there is a myriad of saaaaaadists. It is all about striking a balance.

I congratulate all those who have graduated well. Our top students get competed for by top MNCs and the very top schools around the world.

Congrats especially to the topee. I hope he was able to beat the record 4.93 and 4.95 set in 2007 and 2008 respectively. And most importantly, I hope he graduated from Engineering or Science grin. Your senior colleagues are waiting for you at Harvard or MIT.

T22.
I understand you very wel. But you dnt really understand me when i say sadists n all secondary and primary schools in awka is ocupied day n night by UNIZIK students. I just wish sumbody wil say it beta. Mind u i reside in Lagos. Infact Bariga to be precise so wich secondary or primary schol is ocupied by Uni students (nt pointing unilag now)? Is it Finbars, Akoka high schol, FCE, Cms grama schol? Ajayi crowder or cms gals, st lukes or howels? Cms primary schol complex? Toria school at yaba or succes point, Timi o, crusader lessons? St august affiliate to Ibadan? Abeg tel me wich of these schols go open gate 4 u or student go enta individualy or in groud just to study. In ma secondary schol days in Ajayi Crowther i blong to a futbol club n only futbol teams dat pay d gatekeeper som alawi na him go enta.
Am nt beefing UNILAG or her Students o o! Infact am just lamenting the state of UNIVERSITY EDUCATION in Anambra State! I mean in my time, meetings were held at faculty levels concerning one or two students who's a potential 1st class candidate especialy d social sciences! Ah! E too bad there! Infact one of d lecturers whom am very close to even advised me nt to continue with ma Masters Degree in dat school after one of d meetings wich aparantly had me n two odas as an agenda. I was shocked to d marrows! These were his words, "Bassey, i'll advise you nt to continue wit your Masters degree in dis department. Tel same to Ifeoma. Its better u go to ur homestate n continue there or u get a scholarship, go overseas to oxford or liverpool. Dats where ur kind can make impact wit ur inteligence n d graphics n computer software skils u've got". Oboy there n then i made up my mind nt to return to d school for any carry ova. Like i said in ma first post, i work xtra hard! I almost ran mad! D only nite i spent at home was saturday n sunday nytes. Others nytes i was in d fellowship wit felow jackass. (i even 4got to say dat d felowships e.G casor, nifes Efac, Grace, Rccg, su, mfm campus felowship centres were nt left our cuz d schools (numbering more than 20 including st joseph, n st anthony big reading centres were kinda overcrowded) nt 4getin d popular Garba square etc)
I admire Unilag n oda great schols like UNN, UI UNILORIN, CONVENANT (plz name more! Nt glorified secondary schools o o!). Inteligent graduated students frm these schools can compete with any school in da world! Its a fact! No beafing! Guy if u good, u good! If u inteligent, u go make am anywhere dats just d leson of my story! I aim for d moon always n if i dnt reach it, i land amongst d stars! They neva tot me graphics or computer software engineering bt i had to personaly hold on to sumtin in schol, dat way i ranked in cash n worked for companies in dsignin adverts etc. I worked, formated n generaly repair computer softwares! NA BABA GOD NONI e no join d mass com where i read o! Bt na God!
And a little advise to all, a certificate can burn bt wats in da certified can neva burn. Like peak milk wud say "its in you!" u can do it! Hold four tins to urself
GOD
YOURSELF
GOOD FRIENDS
YOUR FAMILY
Learn new tins! Seek to know! Aspire to flow in d realm of d best! If u no make 1st class, 2nd class or even 3rd class, its nt d end of d world! U can employ those who have all d degres n phDs! KNOW UR PURPOSE IN LIFE n no FORCE CAN REPOSE YOU! GOODLUCK TO ALL STUDENTS, IT IS WELL IN JESUS NAME!
PoliticsRe: What Exactly Is Peter Obi Doing In Anambra State? by fleps(m): 6:34pm On Feb 15, 2012
Emperoh:
While i agree with most of you that Anambra has dwindled in governance fortunes since 2011
when he got his second tenure, i totally disagree that Obi is a monumental failure.

let me state here that i hold no brief for the Governor or any of his cronies, but i know the difference
between the different tenures i witness since 1999

What is happening to Obi is tantamount to my initial believe and one which i share with a close cousin that Second tenure
bred impunity. . . .check all the governors in their last lap and tell me if any story that is different.
Unfortunately, i was among those clamouring for Obi's return after an impressive run out in his first term (pls these are my opinion). To some extent, we felt a feeling of governance with things being done as at and when due. Our roads continued the upward movement that Chris Ngige initiated and other aspects of governance receiving adequate attention when needed. We had workers who were paid albeit lowly, timely payment of pension to retired worker and our debt profile coming to a very low level.

But the man is gradually quashing his own achievements with his ambition. I wonder whether getting in touch
with government at the centre really guarantees anyone anything. But his constant hobnobbing with the PDP government may have triggered the transfer of the PDP disease to Peter Obi. I had thought that with his experience with the PDP government during the fight of his life for his tenure, Mr. Obi would have distanced himself from any relationship with the PDP government at the centre.

I had expected a governor who would build on his legal success and build something out of the APGA government.
But lo, it's one internal fight after the other. Snatching tickets meant for his APGA loyalists and handing them over to PDP decampees. Imagine the likes of Chuma Nzeribe and Uche Ekwunife in APGA!!!

But these are not really where my problem lies. It is with the inability of the governor to think creatively and exit that straight-jacketed manner of thinking; in terms of doing what the law says government should. But rather look beyond the normal and harness the budding human resources in the state to its benefit. We have the most successful set of people in black Africa and i can imagine the number who are yet to be discovered. It is not enough for government to build roads, rehabilitate schools, provide healthcare and basic infrastructure. . . . .what about those policies and laws that can stimulate the states resources? Even in the area of infrastructure, i can hardly find any Federal project Mr. Obi's government has embarked upon. This is despite his rapport with Aso Rock. Where then is the benefit of his relationship with the President. Yes we boast about the best road network in the South East but the entrance to our state from Enugu and Onitsha leaves a lot to be desired. The Asaba end of the highway is a Federal Road; it was done by the Delta State government. Why can't Mr. Obi replicate same and retrieve his money from Abuja; since he is close to them and Mr. Ngige did the same.
It is totally disheartening to see that this is a failure that will be self inflicted. Posterity would have held him in high regard if he had kept up with the first term momentum but trust leaders to grow a whole new identity when they become the Lord of the manor.
But what I totally disagree with is that Obi is a failure as a Governor. He did quite well in the first continuing from where Chris Ngige stopped
Wait o o! Who u write all this desertation 4? If to say everybody de write long notes like u space go dey 4 nairaland again? Only ur 1st paragraph make me understand wetin u mean na. . .

122 graduates! Oh Ma Goshy Gosh! Is it me or is it dat UNIZIK is infiltrated with sadists as lecturers! Oboy some of these lecturers gud bt wicked! Last convocation na 10,041 dem graduate bt na only 1,041 make result were Nigerian companies understand (i.e 2nd class uper n 1st class). Out of which only 41 make 1st class (pathetic isn't it). Even d 4.1 were i carry run last year July na b say them don pana beat me tire. After i carry 1st class enter level 200, dem fail me o o! 4 yr 3 weda na juju dem use make me enta medical centre miss two courses. Bt 4 final year i jus cover up evrytin, work extra hard, write xtra two courses were i miss plus project, n al wahala here n there. Infact i give God da glory say i make am n i dey serve nex month! PROUD-IGBO:
^^^Inasmuch as there have been concerted efforts over the decades by the Bastards that've controlled gov't at the centre to deny Ndigbo an enabling economic environment that will give us the tools to develop and improve our lot, i'm of the opinion that -the pitfalls and diabolical scheming notwithstanding- we ought have progressed far better in all indices than is presently the case.

What we as a people have done is to rest on our battered oars, and be content with progressing at a pace dictated by the centre: a centre that until recently didn't give two shi*ts about tapping into the relative strengths of the human and material resources that abound in the region. I'm no Nostradamus but i can tell you for nothing that this nonsense WILL CONTINUE for as long as we collectively refuse to take our destiny in our hands, and chart a developmental course driven, managed and funded mainly by Ndigbo at home and in diaspora.

We have not been too bright (putting it mildly) in electing Sons/Daughters into public office that have the vision, zeal and mental capacity to take their respective constituencies to a higher enviable level. Of the five states in the South East, i can honestly say (and i'm entitled to my opinion) that i have a positive feeling for the state leadership in only two (Imo and Enugu), and i'm sure any nuetral observer will agree with me. The rest states just seem to have clueless gov'ts that haven't got the faintest idea how to manage and bring out the best in their people/resources. They seem to have no vision on where to take their states and it seems they ran for office just to be called 'Your Excellency'.

Also, our representatives in Assembly and Federal Gov't seem to be there just for what they can get out it, and it seems they're afraid to take the President to task on promises yet unfulfilled: like the Onitsha River Port that we were told would be commissioned in Oct' last year. Yet you hear of private and gov't projects being planned and commissioned almost on a fortnightly basis in other regions.

One of our problems seems to be the fact we don't have a 'leader'; someone that can knock heads together, tell it as it is and get things done; someone that would enable us think and speak with one voice, with everyone pulling in one direction.

Oh well!!! God dey.
U too dey talk sef! Na just question them ask, u dey write term paper. Wel sha, d lines i read make sense, KUDOS!
