Demain_man: At least we know that when he was asked to pay TAX he paid it as that was the requirement of Ceaser so paying tax is mandatory. Why did they not ask him if he pays TITHE? because they know that he was not a FARMER hence he is not required to pay TITHE.

You did not answer my question about your statement that there is no true follower of Christ. Are you a tue follower of Christ? Like i said, you missed the point. Tithe is not the point, it is only one of the numerous practices that have being abused. Offerings and vows and firstfruits etc have also being abused. i am against the abuse of anything as well. but i do not hide behind one finger like most antitithers. Jesus told the pharisees to love their neighbours in Matthew 22. In the next chapter, He said to give tithes. You decided to pick one, no wahala. but do not tell us not to pick the two, that is where the wahala is.
Yes Christ never had billions, but the Bible states that He became poor that we might be rich(whatever that means). We cannot judge people primarily and only on their possessions. Love of money is not necessarily measured by one's bank account.

i love and appreciate simplicity and moderation. However, the benchmark for a man's life is NOT the abundance of things he possesses. You are using a minor percentage of pastors to judge/condemn the tithe. Not many pastors are very rich. There are churches that practice tithing and their pastors are not 'wealthy'. God's word should be the basis for doctrine, not some minor percentage's experience. BTW, i verily doubt that tithes is the reason for any pastors wealth. There are people that give far above tithes. People give cars, clothes, jewels and other material things. People vow and pledge and give whole salaries and billions and millions and firstfruits and othwr offerings. Mysteriously, tithe is the only culprit, the scape goat. This says a lot for the blindness and misguided zeal of the antitither.

They don't realize that there are people who would actually take advice to heart, whether it's good or bad. I wonder if people would heed the advice they give sometimes.
