Dalohad:You are still getting what I meant, wrong. I am NOT talking about who earns more or not. I am talking about the one with ease of Nigerians in Canada, trying to do a program, with ease of getting job. Job adverts for medical laboratory technicians are more, compared to graduate level medical laboratory science. I also said if you have the money, you could go ahead and do the five - year program. |
Dalohad:Comprehension seems to be a problem here. My advice is meant for people that are in Canada or the US or Nigerians intending to go and study medical laboratory sciences in Canada or US. Please take time and read again. |
This program seems quite sought after in Canada. If you want to study it in Canada or US, study the 2 year diploma program in medical laboratory technology. Don't waste your time with any 4 or 5 year medical laboratory science to get the degree. The diploma program can still land you a good paying job. But if you have the money, you could go ahead with the bachelor's degree |
INTERPOL wouldn't have issued this kind of statement. Immediately I read, "discredited EFCC", I knew that the jargon above was written by a typical Nigerian journalist. INTERPOL can never discredit national institutions of member States. Certain words and sentences construction are not acceptable within an international organisation. |
Nigerian officials were in hotels with their imported ............ ![]() Government officials would go to conferences but hardly participate in sessions. They would be holed up in their hotels, snapping pictures in city's monuments and visiting parks, forgetting the main reason why they went there in the first place. This is very much applicable to government agencies and civil servants |
symbianDON:Yes, Justice Egbo - Egbo and Justice Inyang ![]() Two most controversial Justices in Nigeria's judicial system |
See someone's son ![]() I am sure there wasva joy in this one's home when he was born and thanksgiving may have been offered to thank God for the bouncing baby boy. Parents should be held accountable for some of the later years characters and behaviour of their children |
But he is a smart man, with business chains both in Nigeria and abroad. ![]() |
See people fathers and grand fathers ![]() This Ned is just funny! I cant wait to join the Nigerian politics or be a hangers -on, at least |
Why was he afraid to put his hands round his wife's waist? Him come dey fear. |
Everyone is trying to cash out on the inefficiency of the Nigerian State. Once any country or company senses an opportunity in Nigeria, they lock in. Hundreds, if not thousands of Nigerians, makes trips to East African countries on regular basis. Some will have to transit through another country before getting to Tanzania, Zanzibar or Kenya. With this, the flight would be direct. This is a route a working Nigerian Airways would have been operating. |
All these poor African countries with large land mass, looking to get more money from the West and middle east. What future would the settlers envisage in a landlocked country like South Sudan in the future? Rwanda recently collected millions of pounds from the British government to host illegal immigrants, which the court in UK has blocked the deportation, stating it was illegal to send the refugee to a third country. Rwanda no send as they are enjoying the millions of pounds that poured into their economy from the deal. |
The statement from Keyamo may seemed good on paper, but in the context of the law, it is wrong. Just imagine a minister or member of parliament in UK, telling a Crown Police or Scotland Police to drop a civil or criminal case? The British media would roast that Minister and the government. You do not interfere in police investigation. A Nigerian member of parliament in Canada was quizzed because he tried to call a higher authority when a police man pulled him over on the road. You don't interfere with the legal and justice system if believe it to be fair You allow the rule of law to prevail and apply punishment to culprit and compensation to the party that felt offended. I knew that Ibom Air would quickly agree to drop the case as the opinions were weighing in against them. I am sure when all the facts of the matter are laid bare, you would shock who the guilty party would be and the compensation that may arise if the justice system is not compromised. |
It's a very competitive selection. If you are not a first class graduate, your chances decreases by 90%. That's how scholarships works. You have to be among the top 1% applicants to stand any chance. For intended phd applicants, ensure you made distinction in your masters or you have few publications under your belt. If your article or research works have been referenced by others or peer - reviewed in any learned international journals, your chances increases by 95%. Securing an International scholarship is no joke o! No deceive yourself |
I don't understand Nigerians with gigantic mansions. At the end, you will be inside one room at a time. At no distance time, maintenance would become an issue. For me, I am a core minimalist and fine lines and detailing. Lots of big houses and no electricity to power them. I will prefer a small modern 3 or 4 bedroom garden-like duplex with high quality finishing and steady power to gigantic edifice with blocks and concrete works everywhere and no constant power |
I may not like what the Lady did but this POs statement made sense. Banning her for life seemed quite excessive!! She should have been issued a caution or warning. The lady seemed to be like someone under the influence of substance. The way she reacted was shocking, which was the same way must addicts reacts to troubling or charged moments. They may look innocent and harmless but ones you trigger their anger, the addiction in them takes over. I feel sorry for her and I expect the authorities to tamper justice with mercy. This is going to be a traumatic experience for her and this needs to be handled well. |
Most Igbo men in their 70s and 80s have stories of their respective civil war era. My own father, 80 now, trekked from Calabar to Umuahia and to Ogidi, in Anambra state, just to escape the federal troops that were indiscriminately shooting at young men. The war should have been avoided. I agreed that the Igbos felt unsafe after the 1966 counter coup but don't rule out Ojukwu's ego in the whole episode. If someone else was the military administrator of the Eastern Region, the war may not have happened. Leaders and their decisions are sometimes shaped by their personality and character. That war should not have happened. All peaceful options were not followed and ojukwu was in a haste to secede and Gowon was in a haste to thwart Ojukwu's plan. Eastern region was grossly ill prepared for the war and under estimated the ability of the federal government to engage British and Soviet government to their side, ensuring regular supply of high- calibre munition. But Ojukwu was busy sending young men to battle field with three rounds of ammunition rifles, den guns and "cock and shoot" rifles to face people, armed to the teeth with the latest AK 47, backed by MiG fighter jets, the most sophisticated jet of that era. Sometimes, I wished that Majors Ifeajuna and Victor Banjo had succeeded in their internal plan to overthrow Ojukwu and restarted negotiations with Lagos. You don't fight wars with emotions, especially, when you are grossly under armed. Even the great negotiations Professors Kenneth Dike, Eni Njoku and Eyo Ita concluded with the French government for support to Biafra was trashed by Ojukwu as he felt that the agreement ceded the control of Biafra to the French, making him, Ojukwu, to loose his relevance. You have to be diplomatic to get what you want, even if it means conceding some grounds. When Ojukwu eventually agreed to certain proposals by the French to supply arms, the Biafran armed forces was already degraded and posed no major challenge to the federal forces. This is the reason why the Biafran army was more of resistance fighting force than an attacking fighting force. |
I wonder how people are thinking that Jonathan would come out to contest - contest against who? Who is giving him ticket? Jonathan is not going to perform any magic. I am surprised at how people are rejoicing that he would defeat Tinubu. Story for the gods. People here, especially the children, should know that emotions do not win elections |
Stupidity!!! This is not shown on a national television If you want to watch, it means you have to pay. Holier than thou irritates me. I have not set my eyes on the current episode and do not care about what is going on there. If you know how much the promoters pay in fees to government, you would be shocked - fees and taxes running in millions, if not billions. What NBC makes from BB Naija season is more than what they make from all the TV stations in a year |
He is a product of the system - He still benefited from the system, one way or the other. He cruises in exotic vintage cars paid by politicians and private sector allies, who may have benefitted from him when he was the CBN governor |
I know say na SE family. In laws can truly stress the husband in Igbo land, no be small. The wife would want the husband to set up business for her brother, sponsor her younger siblings to school and open shop for her mum in the east, even when the man is "killing" himself with hustle. But if you are rich and have no problems supporting your in-laws, you will be highly respected and valued. Even you will also feel happy and fulfilled that you are doing all these for your wife. If you have the means, please do it. You are creating legacy for yourself |
Something they ought to have done since If this was a well-run private sector entity, the responsible officer would have been sacked. The stack difference between private and public enterprises In private sector, some errors and negligence are not accepted - there is always a consequence for actions or inaction. ADC should have followed the stipulated guidelines and filed "notice of change" of management to INEC Anyway, the drama is not finished. Other legacy issues may come up and ADC may be kept busy with recurring issues till election day |
Kai, so those more than 200 chibok girls could not be found, more than 10 years since the incidence? I wonder how their lives are where they are, if they are still alive. See how these lucky ones' lives changed tremendously, just because of new found environment and opportunities. As someone earlier said, if she was in Nigeria, she would be looking malnourished, with baby strapped on her back, with other four kids to feed. Culture. ignorance and environment do hold people down, true, true. ![]() |
So sad that I don't know her. I can't believe that I don't watch Nigeria TV stations again. Me that was so addicted to NTA in the late 90s and 2000s. There was no newscaster or presenter in NTA that I didn't know his or her name. Now, once I watch Aljazeera or Euronews, I am done with news. All other news about Nigeria, I get from nairaland and other social media. |
Their time to hammer!!! The same way the former LP state chairmen hammered in 2023 when Obi came on board. The legacy chairmen of the ADC must be settled or else they would be used to cause problem and embarrassment to Atiku and Mark INEC has already listed Nwosu as the authentic chairman of ADC. Nigeria's politics can make you turn mad if you are not strong, mentally ![]() This internal wrangling may continue till 2027 and INEC would come up with an authentic ADC leadership and candidates. |
A determined illegal immigrant would not mind forfeiting the $5k bond to remain. Some would prefer to forfeit the money and remain in the US, illegally, than to return home. ![]() |
This is not about prayer or waiting on God for some miracle - If science can solve your problem, please go for it. It was God that gave man the intelligence to deepen the scientific knowledge. This is one of the reasons why I do not agree with my Church, the catholic church, on their stand regarding IVF. You will see couples, looking for the fruit of the womb for years, with penitential observation and prayers, yet, no show. But they will do IVF and the thing will click. Is it not God that created the children born through IVF? A friend of mine waited for 13 years and no child. He eventually agreed to an IVF with the wife and they birthed triplets. All na God grace, biko. ![]() |
The way the Russians were giving safe passage by the rebels after the fall of Asaad showed that there were negotiations and concessions made, which has made this new found love to happen. The rebels never attacked the Russians when they indicated their willingness to abandon Asaad and peacefully left Syria. The new Syrian regime is looking for friends at all costs. The odds are stacked against them and I am happy the way they are going about it - they are not seeing people as enemy and has let by gone be by gone. Despite repeated provocation from Israel, they have not retaliated nor has the regime described Israel as an enemy. I think the regime wants peace and wants to live with neighbors, peacefully. Agreed, Syria has been degraded militarily and does not pose any threat to its neighbors, the newly "baptized" hard core Islamist rulers in Damascus are interested in forging new alliances for the sake of Syria, which is good. They have blacklisted their long time allies, Iran and Hezbollah, and are more focused on building relationship with the West and the gulf states. Their new president, in his desperate attempt to look liberal, has started wearing designers suites, instead of his military uniform and has trimmed his long beards to a modest height. His current appearance is at opposite to how he appeared during his rebellion against Asaad. He has taken a new toga of a reformist and a moderate and the world is waiting to see if he would live to expectations. He has largely maintained peace in Syria, except in pockets of areas, where Asaad is popular and the remnants of Asaad forces are still controlling the areas. He was warned to desist from using force to quell the remaining dissenting voices, which he adhered to, making him to look like someone desperately in search of lasting peace. |
I hope he's not going to fall for this "food" being offered to him? It seems that parties have noticed his desire to be the flag bearer of any political party. So, almost, all the parties are wooing him. He should stay with the coalition and fight for the ticket. If he looses, he should remain and support whoever emerges as the flag bearer and wait for another opportunity. |
fitinwell:Bro, you have to be strategic and intentional with taking care of yourself as a man. I used to deny myself some luxury things because I wanted to have some money left to cater for families and extended families, including some projects I was handling. Despite the fact that I was trying to be economical, I saw myself, especially my wife, spending thousands of naira on my children to buy good clothes for them. I sent monies to extended family members, yet, kept on denying myself of some good things. I had to put a stop to it, starting with my resignation from my place of work in 2016 to go solo and set up my own independent consultancy as the 9-5 job was taking a great toll on my health and well being. My wife objected because she was the number one beneficiary of the generous emolument I was receiving as staff but I had to explain myself that I needed to rediscover myself and focus on myself, seeing what many men that had worked hard for their families faced. In my house, i have a personal fridge in my room, where I stock it with all kinds of fruits and vegetables. I go out on my own to enjoy myself, buy the best clothes I could offer, wear the sneakers that I have always cherished and above all, have all the time myself doing what I like as I don't report to any boss. I have said it before, even though my annual consultancy fee has not matched my last emolument as a salaried person, I am still far happier now than I was as staff. I have to manage my costs and live within the means of what my consultancy is bringing. Thank God, I was able to invest wisely while still a salaried worker, it helped to sustain my current status. My health and overall well-being are far better and I live a far better quality of life. |
Gerrard59:Most Nigerian families would never agree on fewer families, especially, our old school mothers and their persistent pressure on you and your wife to add another one, since Mama Ifeoma's son or daughter has put to bed, their fifth child and you are still on number two, more than three years after you had your second. As a man the pressure is on you. Raising a child is not just providing the child with food. It is your ability to be able to be committed to the child and put him or rather, prepare him or her for success in the future |
We are waiting for the Angolans. They are the main title challenger |
