afodam247: I will appreciate the gurus opinion on this please This is very simple. You know the answer yourself. You can't touch the money you fixed for a certain period. Will the maturity be before you start your program? You need to answer this when you are asked about it. The only money available for your use is the one in the savings account. Is this sufficient for the first year? Only you can answer this. So do the calculation. |

Sorelee: If June is your proposed visa interview date, you can't travel to the states with the passport because your passport must be valid for atleast 6 months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States but you can still book your appointment and then renew your passport before your interview date
N.B
make sure you have both the new and old passport with you on your interview date This is a wrong info. |

kopell: Yes your mom was right, the guy has done many good job for me over the years with recommendation of HAJJ. At the beginning he told me his was going to used Tower I was expecting him to do that, not knowing my ties with Tower Aluminum as young Engineering Technician in the engineering department called technology tools and engineering in the late 80s, I was expecting him to place the order in tower which he never did. Cut the long story short, he ended up buying Chinese which was even thicker than the tower, how do I know this? I send someone to go to his shop and measure the thickness of the aluminum that was about to be used, behold like I said it was a little thicker than my expectation. That was how he convinced me that some of the Chinese could be thicker, if you ready to pay. Since then I have no doubt in his ability to deliver. @bold is a nebulous. Does it mean the Chinese one is better than the Tower? |

EgunMogaji: 1) Go with mums person to ease her comfort. It’s only money.
2) Biodun did my apartment garage in Ibadan. He was conscientious and timely. He returned to correct a few cosmetic mishaps without issues.
3) Did he use what we agreed upon? I don’t know but I think so. He’s given me no reason to doubt him.
4) He should be on my site with me in the next few months for my courtyard bungalow. He did a fantastic job on the apartment garage.
5) Nigerian artisans should be managed and cross checked, it is the nature of things. This is regardless of who introduced them.
6) Go with mums recommendation to please her.
Good luck on your project. Seconded @ the bold to avoid sebi mosofue. |

mufutau55: I understood your problems, it happens to most of us sometimes. If she is not comfortable with Biodun, she can give it to anyone she trusted, so that you will not hear any excuse from her in future. Family blood is too strong for me to meddle with. But as for Biodun, he has personally done 6 houses for me and my brother. Also he has done work for many people here on Nairaland and I have not heard anything negative about him so far. I am sure many of those Nairaland members will testify to what I am saying when they read this post. You have to understand that noone can guarantee you 100% about the work and behavior of any Naija artisan. So we all just play the lucky game. So based on my post above, the decision is yours but do not forget about your mother's feeling too. Good luck.
Hajji M. Yes!! Hajji M recommended him and He did a great job for me and used authentic materials we discussed. I have seen mine physically. |

darenyx: Good day and thanks for the observation...
If you had observed from the start, the natural ground where the building is is very strong and hence theres no consolidation even of we compact and soak the soil remains same... So there laterite was used... And Sharp is very expensive here .. so we couldn't even use it for filling even if we wanted to as it's not economical Thanks |

@Derenyx, I could see that you used laterite for filling of the foundation instead of sharp sand as most of our builders here suggested and you didn't leave it for a long time to settle and achieve compaction. Can you shed light on this? Thanks. |

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Best Regards, Retake the exam asap and send /upload your score. A Phd degree will not accept anything less than band 6 in any sub skills. You are lucky. Competitive schools will require band 7 or 7.5 especially if you are looking for assistantship as a graduate. |

lafolabi: Reasons are.we have enough pillars The soil is hard enough to take the structure .we don't need German floor with reinforcement The type of German floor needed here is concrete without reinforcement. We will do the flooring later. It reduce cost. Thanks Good but does it meet the standard as Some our builders here do frown on that. |

Larrynrlnd1: Hello House,
I have a BSC in Physics (Third Class). Graduated in 2012 and i am currently 32.
I have worked with with 2 multinationals since 2013 but i intend applying for a post graduate course in the US.
I have not gone for any post graduate studies after my first degree but i really want to make a move academically as i am not proud of my 1st degree grade.
Will a high GRE score suffice for a Masters or should i write SAT and apply for an undergraduate course?
I have a very good SSCE result.
please also advise further on the route to take.
Thank you. Endeavour to evaluate your transcript using WES Write GRE and aim a very high score @32 going back for undergrad might raise a problem getting visa. Cheers! |

Cindino20: Quick question Sir...
Recently I found out that the price of longspan from Agen Aluminium (Benin city) is a lil bit more or about same price as that of the stone coated tiles advertised here on nairaland. e.g
0.55mm Long span at Agen is 2850 naira while stone coated advertised here on nl ranges from 2k to 2800naira....As a layman i dont quite get how an imported product (supposedly og higher quality) is cheaper or about same price as a product produced locally. if then why do people then buy longspan at such prices and not use stone coated or why do Q.S use long span when you tell them moderate finishing but the prices re about same.
is it the way they re quoted (square metres and metres)? I m just curious...Can you or anyone else please explain this?
Thanks
C. Stone coated may require a different roofing and building designs more expensive than that one that will use longspan. layman opinion |

spartacus11: U mean to say people don't experience such in US? Items not stolen abi? So if we google am now we nor go see any negative experience people hav gone through in US abi
Nairaland na wa for una.......
So if dey stole his wallet it totally means he don't hav a single dime on him abi? Some times make una use una sense no insult intended
He shared his experience, take it as dat and move on Read the part below and make use of dimwit sense, no insult intended. He said he still had 1k in his wallet and I asked which wallet? Does that mean the experience can't happen? So after getting my luggage I was told by another woman she asked to see my passport so I removed it from my jacket and gave her immidately so she told to go and I was stopped again by another cop who checked the same document after leaving there I decided to put my wallet, passports, my wallet, my ATM passport, drivers license and other valuables in my hand luggage that was my biggest mistake, finally I got into the train and after like 7mins I got to new jersey train station and I asked a black dude where I could get a sim card because my stupid Airtel sim that I roamed wasn't working my luggage was already spoilt becsuse i was walking aimlessly everywhere so begged a cop to help me kerp my bag I also told a black dude to help me watch it i was gone for about five minutes when I came back my hand luggage was gone. The luggage contained the my wallet, my passports., 2 phones and other valuables |

alexandramylee: Hello, I'm a newbie here. I have a B1/B2 visa that was just renewed recently for the second time. The first was issued sometime in 2014 but wasn't used and I renewed it in 2016 because I planned to travel. However I couldn't use it because of office policy (asper no vacation/leave double promotion). So now I intend to use it for child birth. What kind of questions should I expect at the POE. Note: It's my first time of travelling to the U.S. I hope you know what you want to do? Was the visa given for Child birth ? I know someone who was turned back at the POE. Be careful. |

Quoran: Lakesyd32,From my findings, Ordinarily, you don't need a statement of account for a student visa. It is assumed that the school has done their homework and checked the document before issuing an I-20. It just depends on what they have written on the I-20. However, some VOs ask for it (Not so many , going by the transcripts posted here). I guess some just ask when they are trying to convince themselves that you are a genuine student.
So, I really don't think you have anything to worry about. I am in the same situation. I will just go with the statement I have though. He is not worried; he just wanted to be sure. You both should go with your personal statements as long as they cover your personal expenses. If the VO asks, give; if not, bring it home. Just make sure its genuine in case you are put on AP for verification. |
