House, a friend needs an advice .

She got Distinction in banking and finance in ND, 1st class in Bsc in banking and finance and Also Phd grade in her masters in banking and finance.

She was employed as an assistant lecturer in a Nigerian university into the cooperative and rural development department with a condition that she must add more credentials on that department within an accreditation year.

She has been searching for such Phd in that profession.

I wouldn't know if anybody can help with a useful information in terms of school and such major in US.

She is contemplating maybe she can ignore the school directive and settle for finance or related major and if the admission succeed with assistantship, she will resign.

Please HELP.
Habba!!! With all all her distinction, first class, Phd grade, she still can't do research on her own and on what she wants, e get as e be o. huh huh

If you really like her, tell her to put her request on this website first www.google.com, then you can start reading from page 1 here to see so many links that you can check schools and courses. grin grin grin

Considering the nature of my job, I may not be able to perform well in GRE especially the Quantitative Reasoning aspect being an art student; it's been tough. Now, assuming I have the financial wherewithal. What do you advise?
Never an excuse!!!! What happened to your verbal as an art student? Quantitative is basic maths and its application. I am an art student too. In fact my 1st and 2nd degrees are English Language. That didn't affect my performance in Quantitative. Jobs imo is not an excuse if you really want to pursue your dream. We have seen many people here that got denied because they couldn't present their GRE score ( yours is too low to give a VO who is accessing your intent). Better use the evaluation money for the exam and aim at good score. cheesy cheesy

Good day everyone, I began an admission process at St Cloud State University, Minesota in 2016 for the Fall of 2017. I wanted to study Strategic Communications and GRE is not required. Having uploaded every other documents, I was required to send my transcript via WES which will cost about $206. I got discouraged because I felt the procedure was awkward coupled with lack of funds as at then. I sought advice from friends in the US and they told me to abandon the process and look for schools that won't require WES.
I found one and I wrote my GRE last December but, I had a low score (273). Now, I am thinking of revisiting my admission process at St Cloud State and I need an advice from someone with a similar experience on how to go about the WES and how long it will take for the transcript to be processed etc. Please, address my case.
Why don't you prepare for for a new GRE and have a good score? Do you have the financial wherewithal? A good GRE score can give you a better chance and not necessarily a desperate option of St Cloud.

Hello, I would like to know if I can still be granted admission as I just submitted my application for fall 2018 hoping that it is not too late, all documents have been sent and WES is sending my transcript to them by the 25th. I want to know if it’s still okay and I a am also applying for graduate assistantship. Thank you
It depends n the school you applied to. If you meet the deadline, you will be admitted provided you meet the requirements. Assistantship may depend on availability at this period. If not, you will need to spend your money and apply next Spring/Fall for GA/TA.

Good day people, I am in the US presently on a tourist visa. Can I convert it to an f-1 student visa here in the US. Instead of coming back to Nigeria and going back again to the US.
Which is better please.
Thanks
Go and convert it, we are waiting for you. Did you tell them at the embassy you would like to convert it when you get to the US? grin grin You should have applied for F1 in the first place. No conversion in the US. You must come home to apply again.

Please gurus in the house I need your advice. I intent to apply to UTK for PhD in Data Science and Engineering, I have mailed the coordinator several times and she is helpful but she has so far refused to answer my question regarding the number of applicants they normally have per year. Further search shows that the program is new, it was just started last year. All she keeps telling me is that about 50% of applicants are admitted. My question is, is this course really worth it considering it is a new course, currently the course is not even ranked and how about job prospect after completion.

I have already applied to other good school but for PhD in Electrical Engineering. My profile is decent; 4.26/5 UG, 3.5/4 MSc, 322 GRE, 105 TOEFL, I have 5 publications.

Please gurus I need your advice.

Any advice from experienced people herehuh

Please I really need you guys assistance here especially the VOs and people with experience. I want to study abroad, precisely USA (New Jersey) because I have a sister over there although she has not gotten her paper. I want to study nursing and I have two kids, planning to travel with them including my house help because she is like my own daughter and I promised to take care of her till her university ( she is writing weac this year). Please I want to know how possible is going to be1. considering my kids and house help2. If any idea how much is involve for admission into school of nursing and their requirements ( I prefer local/public colleges)3. The best way to achieve my aims this year.I have gotten my int'l passport, my two kids, house help and hubby's own although hubby is not traveling with us due to his commitment (biz) here in Nigeria. In other hand my sister advised me to use visitors visa to come over first from there I can look for admission and change my visitors visa to student visa because it is more cheaper to gain admission over there than from Nigeria. Please help a sister, even your suggestions on how to go about it will be appreciated. Thanks
I hope this sister of yours really loves you. Her advice is not going to help you. Your intent seems that of potential immigrants. Getting visa with this story might be difficult. You can go alone if you really want to study.

Lagosismyhome, Twoods, and everyone . my cousin wants to do her masters in the US. there is an error in her WAEC cert. Her DOB is 22nd July 1992. but it shows 22nd June 1992 in her WAEC cert. she is trying to apply for international passport. which DOB should she put that will not affect her during visa interview. thanks
When you know its a mistake, why don't you try going to correct the problem in WAEC. Even in Nigeria, it will be seen as forgery of age when employers ask you to bring credentials.
