olahmhilekan: Hello I applied to just one school (Lincoln University, MBA) and I was admitted. If I'm asked how many schools I applied to, should I say just one? And I didnt take any test, is that gonna be a problem? I'll appreciate comments, my interview is coming up soon. Thanks You already answer your question. How many schools do you want to claim you applied to? Just be honest with your response and defend it. QED. |

Deboadekoya93: Good morning people, I have been a silent follower on this thread, my profile goes thus. On May17th 2017 I went for my first interview and I was denied the reason the VO gave then was my school Park University Missouri is a "very small school". I got admitted for spring 2018 into Bowie State University, Maryland and I have gotten two denials again. I am really confused as to whether to give up on this dream. My last transcripts goes thus
VO~ why are you going to USA? Me~ I'm going for my Masters degree in public administration at Bowie State University Maryland. VO~ why Bowie state University? Me~ The scope of the corriculum at Bowie state university is deep, courses like public budgeting, public personnel management and human resource Managment will expressly address the problem of lack of expertise in the Nigerian civil service. VO~ Have you ever travelled out of Nigeria before? Me~No, I have never had any reason to leave my country. VO~Do you have any international degree? No, I don't. VO~Did you write any standardized test? Me- I wrote TOEFL on September 23 2016 and I handed the result over to her wished she viewed and after that stated I'm ineligible.
Please I will really appreciate, advises on whether to pay another application fee and fire back since school resumes January 22nd. God bless. Why did you wait till after the 3rd denial before coming out? Perhaps your first transcript placed here might have gotten you good feedback. Good luck in your endeavor? |

ceejay55ceejay: Please what is the cheapest means of sending documents to the USA? DHL says #15800 for a weightless envelope containing a letter. Any ideas please? Go to Nipost for registered mail- cheapest less than 1k-8 to 10 working days. Or EMS- cheaper than other courier services. |

denbaba: Reason for question: when applying to schools in the US. can I upload my transcript myself or my alma mata must send it directly to them. pls I'm a novice when it comes to all this. Check your schools requirements. Some schools will accept online upload for admission decision but you must also have it sent directly from your school before resumption. However, some schools require it directly from your school ( official copy) |

Majesticniyi: Hello House, I'm asking this on behalf of my friend. She's confused about the name to use for her MSc application. The name on her birth certificate and her international passport is 'Adijat' while in all her other certificates, 'khadijat'is used.
What can she do to address this issue so it wouldn't be a problem for her? Please quote me while dropping the answer. Thanks Did she do her passport in absentia or what? Well, she can do affidavit to say the two names refer to one person. |

You must be able to demonstrate you are a true student having had a Bsc in the same course. If you can cogently and convincingly defend yourself. ..........Good luck! |

djfrancis: Why is your reasoning so immature and myopic? I'm baffled to say the least. First, there is nothing like natural academic progression. An individual can have as many degree he/she desires as long as the person is able to defend it. If I decide to do x amount of master's or even b.sc., I dont think there is a problem with that. Secondly, all I asked for was advise and I think thats what this group was created for and not to look down on people. If you don't have a solution to an issue, keep shut and waka pass. The dog that will miss road will not listen to the whistle of the hunter. You've proven to be an iconoclast despite your education which is meant to broaden your mindset. Is pathway or certificate the same as B.sc or masters as alluded? You will have difficulty getting your student visa which is the summary. But if that agent has advised you to go ahead, continue. But share your transcript later for others to learn. |

I want to follow his footsteps, I'm just scared because people are saying I must take SAT and he said he only took TOEFL and that I shouldn't sit for SAT. When did he get his visa? It's your life now not your in law's. He was able to justify himself. If you can do the same, carry go jo. Amelica is waiting for you. |

MEILYN: The means I was talking about isn't really about "money". The thing is this, I don't want to take SAT. I am not looking for a scholarship, my family can pay for my education as my 2 sisters are working in the US, my uncle in Nigeria owns a company. And yes, I know it's not a joke. Thank you very much. I really appreciate your reply. Taking the SAT exams is one of the yardsticks to whittle down the serious, bona fide students from scrupulous ones. You can never escape that question about standardized exams taken; the ball is in your court. |

Mayorboi: Any thoughts/comments on landing at Newark Liberty International Airport New Jersey using Ethiopian Airlines.
I haven't read any Poe experiences at EWR and flight experiences with ET. The flight time is amazing & it's relatively cheap... just 13 hours. I wonder why people prefer Royal Air Maroc that has about 25 hours flight time with an 11 hour layover at Casablanca & same price range. I don't think there is any difference on the flight you take with POE experience but your ability to defend your purpose in the US. ET Airlines is great. Flown it several times with no wahala. |
