Ori in Yoruba literally mean head but in the philosophical aspect, it mean consciousness. Ori in it totality is an object of worship base on the common ori la ba bo saying among Yoruba people. This is why Ori is the first “Orisa” to be praised, it is the one that guides, accompanies and helps the person since before birth, during all life and after death. With Ori, one is Orisha (God) because Yoruba people believe everything posseses some degree of consciousness; also that conscious things are God. Therefore Orisa is a God. Orisa means nothing but God. So GEJ and myself are God.

Ori apesin, one who is worthy of worship by many.

It is just like saying Cake and Hot-cake. It is still the same entity though property might be different. A dead lion is still a lion. Simple analogy.
