chino11: Rivers State lock down trapped me in Port Harcourt as I was about to return to base in Awka. Everywhere is locked down in Port Harcourt. Restaurants shut, fastfoods shut, hunger set in to 90 degrees.
I actually made moves, when I got to the boundary around Elele, stern looking combined team of army and police stationed were turning people back. Despite my contacts within the corridors of power in Rivers state, they never listened to me. I retreated back to PH, locked myself inside the hotel room, thinking of the next moves as my phone kept ringing, wifey was so worried about me.
I drove out of my hotel room where I have been trapped for almost a week now, I went round town, nothing to eat. Then I went to Market Square in GRA, see how people queued to enter the mall. It was like those experience one usually see back then at US embassy in Lagos.
In a nutshell, hunger could kill faster than Coronavirus. Let fastfoods, restaurants open for business.
Mods push this so that restaurants could open for some of us that can't cook. Thank you
This is like a war time.. Na who send you work |

Wisdomkosi: BREAKING!!! SARS Arrest Fully Loaded Bus Carrying Children To Unknown Destination In Abia (Photos)
By Wisdom Nwedene, Umuahia
The officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS) have arrested a fully loaded bus carrying children to an unknown destination in Abia State.
Igbere TV reports that the ugly incident happened at Umuikaa Junction in Abia State.
According to Alfred Prince who shared the report to Igbere TV correspondent, trouble started when the children told the SARS operatives that they have no destination as they don't know where they were being taken to.
According to him, "the driver on being tortured by the men of SARS said he was taking them to a camp because of the corona virus."
He said : "Parents and guardians please be warned. This is what happened at umuikaa by tollgate this morning."
"The men of Nigerian police force SARS, stopped and arrested a moving bus with more than 15 children inside."
"On interrogation the children confirmed that they have no destination as they don't know where they were being taken to. The driver on being tortured by the men of SARS said he was taking them to a camp because of the corona virus."
"Parents has been advised to be careful with their children in this time of trials and temptation."
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, efforts to speak with the SARS operatives proved abortive.

presidency: STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE BATTLE AGAINST COVID-19: PRESIDENT BUHARI THUMBS UP ELUMELU, RABIU, DANGOTE, ATIKU, BANKS, OTHERS
President Muhammadu Buhari has saluted the public-spiritedness of wealthy Nigerians and organizations for standing up to be counted in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The President commends members of the Nigerian Private Sector Coalition Against Covid-19, made of people like Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu of BUA Group, Femi Otedola, Tony Elumelu, Herbert Wigwe, Segun Agbaje and Jim Ovia of UBA, Access, GT, and Zenith Banks, respectively, for contributing N1 billion each, and being in the vanguard of encouraging others in the private sector to do same.
UBA has equally donated the sum of N5 billion to Nigeria and Africa, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has pledged N50 million, while First Bank is partnering with government, the United Nations, and innovative technological firms to provide e-learning solutions to at least one million children under its ‘Keep Them Engaged, Keep Them Safe’ initiative.
The President extols every other helping hand that has been lent by individuals, groups and organizations, which may not necessarily be in the public domain, noting that God who sees all things will abundantly recompense.
President Buhari recommends these laudable strides to other high net-worth Nigerians and organizations, stressing that hand in hand, the country will overcome the challenges brought by the pandemic, and chart new course in nationalism and brotherhood.

The Isolation Centre has 72 beds, 27 ICU beds with ventilators, oxygen concentrators and many other facilities that can handle a large number of infected people at a time.
The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy who also doubles as the Chairman of the State Task Force on Covid-19 Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and his Co-chair Prof Abdurrazak Habib, the commissioner for Heath Dr Tsanyawa and other members of the task force. Uniquekriss: Despite all the orientation and sensitization on COVID-19, how to avoid and prevent the spread and effects of this pandemic, some persons still don't feel anything is happening hence paying deaf ears to the measures brought out by government/ health bodies for their own good.
I got to a bank just to make withdrawals from the ATM at Agbor in Delta state the hometown of the Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi. A Okowa and I made the observation that people were queuing so closely to each other and many of them not wearing protective equipment to operate the machines.
Though sanitizers were provided at the gate and entrances, with a wash-hand basin beside the ATM, only few customers saw the need to wash their hands with those disinfectants under running water as provided by the bank. Warri things na always opposite |
