So, will you still advise Eguavoen to have done such Irregular change? You said you can't remember........but after I presented you with facts, you still don't deem it fit to stop arguing against unnecessary. Mr man, did you see players being changed in the first half and before second half commenced? or do you want me to show you more even from your press master Guardiola? |

2015 is really far off and if it is not a significant match, one may not remember. At least, I am doing the work of letting him remember. In his context below, it’s not about how far off but about SINCE WHEN HE STARTED WATCHING FOOTBALL. That should be long time ago. TheGoodJoe:
Since I started watching football, I can not remember where a coach made a change when the game was level in the first half without injury.

Are you seeing how far you are going? 2015. So it is so irregular. Secondly, I can bet that it was an injury.
It is not normal but you were crticising the coach that he is tactically inept for not making first half change. Then you bring friendly and go as back as 2015.
I can bet it is an injury.
Just accept you were wrong and move on. It was not due to injury and the year doesn’t matter because it’s about not seeing before. Now, you have gotten an answer to the bolded blue font below. TheGoodJoe: You did not mention duty in your post. So tell us the tactical change you were suggesting first half. You are just grasping at straws. If you watch the game closely, you would have noticed Iheanacho’s duty was cut short as soon as he got a card rendering him incapacitated. In fact, he ought to have received the second yellow card while he was trying to fulfill his duty by recovering lost balls. You can keep praising Eguavoen but unfortunately he is long gone. Jose Peseiro is now the coach. Hehehe! |

Jose Peseiro’s resume is not that bad.
He was actually in Cameroon to observe the team.
Coached a team to gain promotion from 3rd division to 1st division within 3 years.
Coached Sporting Lisbon to finish 3rd place on the league and took them to UEFA cup finals.
Coached Panathinaikos to finish 3rd position in the Greece league.
Coached Aly Aly to win the Egyptian league though he left before the end of the season. The fact that he has experience in Africa counts a lot.
Coached a club in UAE to finish 3rd place position in the league.
Coached FC Porto
Coached Braga to finish 4th in the league and won the Portuguese cup. I think I watched that team because Echiejile was part of that team.
Coached Saudi Arabia
Coached Venezuela in the just concluded Copa America. Not bad. |

TheGoodJoe: You were asking for change for Iheanacho not getting a red card, not for a tactical reason. So your post is totally off point. If Iheanacho had collected a red card, you can bring that up. However, Iheanacho did not collect a red card and you were criticising based on tactics.
As I said, most of you guys criticisms are actually not factual. Why did I request he be substituted before he gets a red? |

The change in style wasn't late. Changing style in 60th minutes is not late. It was just unfortunate that we conceded before then.

Sports › Re: Austin Eguavoen Speaks After Super Eagles Afcon Defeat By Tunisia (video) by forgiveness: 6:03pm On Jan 24, 2022 |
festacman: 1. One positive thing that Augustine Eguavoen did was to prove that the current GOLDEN GENERATION of Super Eagles can play attacking football, which Nigeria is known for rather than unnecessary CAUTIOUS football that Gerhot Rohr was imposing.
2. It is important to state that bad officiating didn't make Tunisia beat Nigeria at AFCON but inferior tactics. Unfortunately, Covid attack on Tunisian squad made it difficult to study their team play while it was easy for them to study Nigerian team play, which made them clip Simon Moses. Look, I would demanded for red card if a Tunisian player tackled Iwobi the way he did against the Tunisian player.
3. The fact is that if Emmanuel Amunike didn't wound Amaju Pinnick's ego by refusing to work as assistant to Gerhot Rohr but demanding to replace him, he would have been the interim coach rather than Eguavoen. And of course, Amunike from records is a better tactically gifted than Eguavoen and he in fact mentored some of the current Super Eagles at age-group competitions.
4. Football is a game of mad passion so Nigerians' reactions to Maduka Okoye, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina are natural but unacceptable if it crosses line of rationality. It happened to Saka and Rashford after the EUROS but they bounced back. The best of GKs have conceded worst goals but were not killed. The truth is that a team's mistakes favour its opponent. It was defensive mistake that helped Iheanacho score against Egypt.
5. The task now is beating Ghana to qualify to World Cup. Hopefully , we will have Victor Osihmen and other preferred attackers fit and available. But the question of which coach manages that 2-legged qualifier is CRUCIAL beacuse not qualifying with the current golden generation of players will be a TREASON.
6. WE MOVE! Amunike has failed in everywhere he coached apart from the U17. |

To score in the EPL is much much harder than the Bundesliga. And in that context I rate , Dennis as the most in form striker in Nigeria in the HERE and NOW. codemaniacs: The midfield wasn't exposed...
SE were defensive .
The reason for the Gap is due to Ihenacho and Chuks not tracking back quickly anytime SE lost the ball.
Aina was made to attack and defend that wing due nacho and Chuks lack of pressing and tracking back so anytime Aina lost possession there was a gap because his the one that will also try to defend it.. Apart from saying there was no gap, I agree with the other point you made. |

However, I reiterate the coach is to be blamed because the midfield was exposed from the blast of the whistle but he did nothing to change it until we were a goal down. |
