Jonraid: It should be this
Classified roads in Km in Kenya-63000
Classified roads in Km in Nigeria- 60,000
Paved roads in Kenya-13,900
Paved roads in Nigeria-28,900
Remember,Nigeria is bigger than Kenya in landmass and it has more than 140,000,000 million people than Kenya.
But when you look at the quality of roads.Kenya is actually one of the best in Africa in that segment.Nigeria is actually not anywhere in the top ten- https://sarf.org.za/top-10-african-countries-quality-roads/ Where did you see 28,000km? See the snapshot.

As for the 8th position, could have been safari but she has openly opted out. For those next in line we had ties. I think 2 or 3 persons. I suggest we pick one of them and move on. Ok let us see the two then cast our vote here. |

Icon4s: Ok, but if we go ahead with the remaining 6. We could potentially have to break some ties in the nominees mentions. Having 7 members in the committee will ensure we have tie breakers. Do we pick some one from the house to quickly join us in the nominations? I know people who would be willing to. Or we just move on with 6 of us and hope voting for breaking of ties goes well.

Jonraid: We beat Nigeria on roads.Nigeria has about 195,000 km road network out of which a proportion of about 32,000 km are federal roads while 31,000km are state roads. “Out of this, only about 60,000km are paved. Of the paved roads, a large proportion is in very poor, unacceptable condition due to insufficient investment and lack of adequate resources.
Kenya which is much lesser in size and population has a road network of about 177,800 km out of which 63,575 km is classified as paved.
Never has Nigeria be an African giant in infrastructure. Ask yourself why Kenya is among top 4 Africa's logistics giants.

This is an indication that you're importing way too much stuff or this is just oil industry earnings. As if Kenya doesn't import more than exporting and as if Kenya is not earning from oil exporting. Lying Kenyans here will tell you that they don't have one drop of mineral resources. Bhuhahahaha!

Mrblaster: Did you just say reuben abati will get him half of his votes in egba? Who even know abati here? For the record, I live in abeokuta and I'm an apc member with registration card. Where did you see all your permutations from? So yewa won't vote their son after third attempt and vote ijebu man abi? So yewa will be so foolish and leave both akinlade and gni to vote dapo? Who told you dapo won't get bloc votes from ijebu too? As it stand the only man without hutches is gni. Both apc and pdp ain't having it smoothly. Didn't you read that pdp hq is insisting on ladi to contest? Ogun state have moved beyond money bag politics especially egbas. We are still loyal to amosun whether you like it or not. If you want to win gubernatorial election, try and win ifo, ado odo ota, abeokuta South and sagamu. The rest win cover up and these are key areas that gni will sweep gloriously. Remember ijebu didn't vote for amosun reelection, yet he won. How you believe kashamu can come from nowhere and win ogun state amazes me. The last thing people want to hear now in ogun state is pdp. My friend, try and eat kashamu money cos he ain't winning. I'm an astute young politician in principle and practice. I wish you can meet me face to face. I will prove to you how it works here. TayserMahiri: See this Nigerian telling a Kenyan about proper planning . Thats irony. The only issue with Nairobi planning was roads. All other plans beat your cities hands down. We need Light rail vehicles (LRVs) as opposed to rapid rail transit (RRT) to save on horizontal space. We cant do a new capital (unless oil starts flowing). Last thing I want is a new capital looking like an inuit village like Dodoma. Space wont be so much of an issue when we demolish over 4000 illegally situated buildings. We have already downed a good number so far. Nairobi has enough space for light rail. Not one village is planned in Kenya. |

rvp20183: It coz our cities are planned and ZONAL laws strictly enforced. And we stopped building social housing. Nigeria cities are not planned..so the slums are not contigous like in Kenya. Nigeria has a more SERIOUS problems. Nigeria cities are mixed development - slum next to bungalow next to maisonette next to apartment next to office block next to an industry next to farm next to forest.
Our mess is easy to solve. Slums occupy 5% of land in cities - illegally built - we can easily upgrade the slums and voila we have modern cities.
Now Nigeria - entire cities would need to be demolished - then zones established - then new city built from the scratch. Only Abuja would be spared...but generally speaking you will have to build more Abuja (completely new cities) and hopefully keep strict zonning laws.
This is the mess you're talking about nigeria - 95% of SLUMPOLIS - built by legal owners of the land in all shapes and manner- compared to temporary structures in our slums built along valleys & rivers - that can be demolished or upgraded easily.

rvp20183: You don't just declare yourself (city) the best. There are people whose job is to do that - and none so far has ever suggested Abuja is anything but one of the worst cities in Africa. Nairobi is regularly ranked highly after Joburg & Capetown - in Sub-Sahara Africa. When and who declared Abuja one of the worst cities in Africa? Liar! |
