The people protesting are Anambra people and deserve to be heard and if you see their protest as denigrating Anambra then you are a fool. if you call that washing dirty linen in public you have not seen anything. Peter Obi's wicked, fraudulent and primitive governance is not something to be hidden anymore. Everybody is well aware.

Politics / Re: Missing $ 49.8 Billion: I Lied-Sanusi, CBN Governor Tells Senate by FrankC3: 8:37am On Dec 19, 2013
texazzpete: I see nothing in the article to indicate that Sanusi admitted lying. In fact, his defense is reasonable...he saw a discrepancy and urged the President to investigate.

So, which one are you? A Presidency stooge? A religious bigot that still nurses a grudge against Sanusi for being a Muslim? An agent of the sacked Bankers?

I dont agree with you. This guy wrote a letter to the President complaining that about $50b is 'not remitted' into the Federation Account. Investigations have shown that about half of the figure he based his allegation of 'unremitted funds' on was actually not meant to be remitted in the first place since it is within the responsibility of other agencies, IOC and third party bills.

This development has exposed some things about this guy's approach to issues. After about 4 years as a CBN governor, he should actually be educating others on the actual architecture of the revenue structure of the country. Before writing to the President, did he try to seek explanation formally or informally from his sister agencies, friends or even consultants or was he just excited? If Sanusi saw the books of oils liftings and saw $65b, did he try to find out how the 51/49% JV agreements are executed? Did he try to factor in other issues like tax and royalties and who is responsible for them? How does he think FIRS remit huge amounts to the Federation Account? This guy seem too shallow. Now, he is haggling with the Finance Ministry on whether the new figure is $12b or $10b. He seem to be speaking the language of reconciling accounts now, which would have been his earlier call. Now, he has realized the funds are even remitted in arrears, not in advance or instantaneously.

I was against the appointment of this guy as CBN governor because he is not just qualifies enough in my opinion. When he was eventually appointed, I championed the opinion that he should be left to do the job so that we can judge him by the results. I can see the results now, he too is not perfect, though he has some nice achievements.

Finally, we should admire GEJ's approach to issues. He got the letter and ordered a reconciliation of figure by all relevant agencies even before the letter was leaked to the Press, which is how intelligent persons should address the issues. He has isolated himself from the politics and every other thing. Now, everybody, including the accuser, accused, House of Reps and Senate are relying on the findings of the reconciliation committee for their judgements. You can call him clueless from today to tomorrow but he sure is a robust decision maker and agile thinker.

Thrash!! In the first instance, I believe that there was never any letter between the 2 leaders. This to me is a fabrication of Premium Times and their El-Rufai pay master. This is part of the series of the media attack to discredit the President and make him look unpopular before middle of 2014. Funny enough, when the real politicking starts, all these noise will turn to sympathy for the President and PDP.

2014 is just next year. The President will soon declare to run for re-election on the platform of PDP and then, there will be massive realignment in the body polity. All these lies have never worked. Ask Ngige and Akeredolu. APC does too much propaganda and little or no real politicking.

To PDP, 2 things are needed between now and end of January. 1. Media chat by the President to re-energise his power base. 2. A press briefing by NOI to straithen things out on the strenght of the economy.

Unless there is something I don't yet understand about this media obsession with the word 'corruption', how come these kind of projects are being delivered, and on time (started in Dec '12 and completed in August '13) when all the money is supposed to have been stolen by 'corrupt' officials? For those who are directly or indirectly involved in certain modules of this project or even understand the complexity of the facility in question, this is a bold statement that some people in and outside government are doing the right things, summoning their best skills and competence to put us squarely in the world map while the hugely uninformed and compromised section of youths that should be championing this kind of development are busy chanting the 'corruption' and 'clueless' chorus.

To Col Dasuki (Rtd), I salute your astuteness and calm disposition to the issues of National security. To the Finance Minister, CBN governor, Service Chiefs and most importantly the President, we appreciate your efforts to put this country on the right track. And to those who sincerely seek development and not just playing politics with the future of their children, your voices will help keep those charged with our collective affairs focused on the duty. And yes, when they do well, it is a moral obligation also to appreciate them.

dbride:

@Frank C just admit you are ignorant. When your mind is set on evil you stop seeing, hearing and understanding facts of any issue. Your last paragraph clearly shows you have not followed the matter at all yet you are defending; with what info do you now defend Stella? You did not know that as at the time in question, Fola had not assumed duty and that it was Mr. Joyce Nkemakolam who was in charge and had even faced the house committee to confirm that Stella approved all he did? Umuigbo, welu nu akonuche we ne okwu nka. Stella yulu nsi n'afia. Ifele megbu kwa unu.

I don't care whether it is Osama Bin Laden that resumed duty instead of Fola. The important question I asked which none of you have answered is what exactly did Stella do wrong? If Joyce or whoever damned person bought the vehicle for NCAA, why are you calling for Stella's sack? Why not call for the prosecution of the person that bought the vehicle - that is if the person broke any law in its procurement?

You were quick to adjudge me ignorant but you exposed how shallow you were when you said that ' it was Mr. Joyce Nkemakolam who was in charge and had even faced the house committee to confirm that Stella approved all he did?' Are you for real? So if you approve that your wife steal some items from a super market and she was caught in the act, we should leave your wife alone and come and arrest you? You know nothing about governance and institutions. If Eugene Juwah of NCC abuse his office today, should we hold Eugene responsible or should we hold Omobolaji Johnson responsible as the supervising Minister? If the Chief of Army Staff embezzle army funds, should we jail the Defence Minister and let the CDS walk free? You people are so ignorant and even proud of it. And dare not abuse Igbo Language again after typing the trash you just typed. It tend to portray falsely that the speakers of that language all reason like you.

Intelligent people isolate sentiments from facts and then make judgements. The FG, HoR and Senate are doing that. If Stella abused her office in any way, I will like to find out how in their reports. But if it this ongoing media trial based on vehicles purchased by NCAA, sorry, facts before me suggests that there is no possible way Stella could be accused of corrupt enrichment so far. If there is, it must be established clearly and I will join the vanguard of anti Oduah soldiers. For now, leave Oduah alone and get NCAA to explain to the nation whether the vehicles were budgeted for and whether its procurement followed due process.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Places Oduah On ‘Tactical Suspension’ by FrankC3: 1:24pm On Oct 30, 2013
Jingo-OAU:
The analogy u analyse below is quite contradictory.

The first day the news leaked to the press, the PA to Stella Oduah confirmed that the vehicles were bought by NCAA for the minister. Later, several contradictory rejoinders follow suit. Actually the purchase started during the inglorious tenure of Joyce as the acting DG of NCAA. It was during Joyce tenure and not Akinkuotu's tenure that several unwarranted AOC were issued to undeserving airlines including Associated Airline. It was during Joyce tenure that over 200 Igbos were massively recruited into NCAA and additional two directorates were created.

However, it is imperative to note that the minister INSTRUCTED Joyce to get some vehicles for her personal protection. For crying out loud, how can armoured vehicles be used to inspect perimeter fencing and inspections. Are they afraid of terrorists inside airports for NCAA to require another armoured vehicles. As a worker in the ministry of aviation,it is not new to me that successive minsiters of aviation do instruct all the heads of agencies to dole out certain amount of money for them.

Be that as it may, this brouhaha about armoured vehicle is not about we against them. It is about accountability and credibility. No right thinking person will go to the street in support of the minister. Let it be known to us all that the totality of igbo votes cannot give GEJ a second tenure, rather, the combine efforts of all other ethnic groups.

Lastly, the problem I have with some folks on nairaland is that some useless fools here have not even seen nor been to any airport before. So whenever, they see remodelling of airports, they thought that is all aviation needed. Aviation is not about painting, rather, its about safety and security. I can authoritatively say that no nigerian airport can boast of adeqaute safety parameters and security. Our mindset have been shredded to believe that by painting our airports, Stella Oduah appears to be the best thing to ever happened to aviation. And for all those Igbo bigots, can they authrotatively tell us when last any international flights enters Enugu airport?

So why are you and your ilks not going after Joyce for whatever crime that was committed? Why the media trial of Stella? You just accepted that you people don't reason at all, that Joyce can commit a crime and Stella will pay for it.

If Stella 'ordered' Joyce to buy armored cars for her (which goes to expose your abject ignorance of the workings of NCAA), does that absolve Joyce of the crime? Why didn't he cry out when he was being 'ordered'? On the number of Igbos employed in NCAA, how come that you are not saying anything about Fani Kayode's confession that he employed more Yorubas in the Aviation agencies but think that does not rob you of the moral authority to talk about another person employing his kins, assuming your opinion is truthful?
Politics / Re: Jonathan Places Oduah On ‘Tactical Suspension’ by FrankC3: 8:30am On Oct 30, 2013
Jeel: This matter is over flogged. While she is guily,there are worst ppl than her. But as it is, na u we de catch be thief. And one can obviously see that its just a way to discredit her and hypnotise GEJ to boot her. But I think he is wiser than that now.

Guilty of what exactly? First, the people shouting know nothing about NCAA or the Aviation ministry and the laws establishing the agencies. NCAA ought to follow a Public Procurement Act in acquisition of assets and once it is established that it was not done, the head of the agency involved takes responsibility not the head of the ministry. Note that part of the procurement procedure could be approval from the ministry to go ahead with the procurement process. That was why Bode George was sent to jail and not the Minister of Transport.

When they were after Oteh in SEC for lodging in hotel and hosting delegates (clearly provided for in the her appointment privileges), no one mentioned that Olusegun Aganga was corrupt. The song was that Oteh is corrupt, even after when she exposed corrupt request from the HoR. When the economic crises hit Nigerian banking industry, Soludo(CBN head) was demonized, not the Finance Minister. When Maina looted pension funds, he was criticized as Maina, not Caleb Olubolade of Police Affair Ministry. When Farouk Lawan stuffed dollars in his cap, he was criticized, not the Speaker of House of Reps. But when Fola Akintotu of NCAA bought vehicles for NCAA, people decided to leave Fola and demonize the Aviation Minister.

If there is any crime that this woman has committed, I will like to know about it. But if this is still about a vehicle purchased by NCAA, the bigots should leave her alone and hold Fola responsible, a man judged by Nigeria to be qualified enough to take decisions affecting the Agency.

Politics 101 dictates that from day one, politicians should watch out for inconsistent statements ESPECIALLY WHERE THE ELEMENTS ARE BEYOND THEIR CONTROL...and inconsistency has been GEJ's trademark from day one. It is very amusing that his handlers have been unable to gag him whether at part level or from his political /media advisers. The same applies to madam.

Secondly, as a voter, I watch out for consistency in any politician and despite all my efforts at scoring this guy, he comes up short. I want a leader to inspire me in words and deeds, and I encourage GEJ to inspire me from now henceforth. A performance like the last media chat is a typical let down.

Exactly my point, I also know that there are 'e-millions' of eligible voters like you who 'loathe' such 'inconsistencies'. Why not lure him out to run for election so that you can nail him at the polls? If really that you are so convinced of your points above, you should be among those that should be telling him that he should run so that your APC can disgrace him at the polls because of those 'inconsistencies'. You seem to be doing the opposite. Asking him not to run so that someone that does not carry the 'baggage of inconsistencies' will replace him. Doing this will only stop someone like you and other e-millions of eligible voters from voting out PDP and voting in your messiah APC. Or don't you want your APC to win again?

When you people talk like this, one thing becomes clear to the discerning. You are scared of meeting Mr President at the polls, so you want a weaker candidate that your APC can easily defeat. All the noise against GEJ are just lies. To the contrary, he is a performer, a strong candidate, and a good leader and you are scared that the electorate will notice this and vote him in again, so you need to make as much noise as possible to distract them from this fact.

You guys have called him clueless, claimed that he has not done anything and seen him as a weakling. You consider him a political featherweight, an under performer, a persecutor of Amaechi, the financier of Boko Haram, the instigator of ALL the violent attacks from North to South, the financier of Fasheun OPC and a man who has lost connection with the electorates. To you APC folks, Amaechi will gather all the votes in Rivers State, Rochas will gather the rest of the SE while Buhari will sweep the North.

My worry is that despite ALL these advertised weaknesses of Mr President and his near zero chance of winning the 2015 election should he run, you APC folks are still so scared of his running. You manufacture all kind of stuff daily, including the above article, to persuade him not to run while telling us to our face that your Buhari can change his mind on his vow never to contest elections again since 'even God changes his mind'.
If GEJ is weak, a political weakling and a liability to his political party, politics 101 suggest that you should be encouraging him to contest to make the victory easier for you guys.

This logic does not connect. Something is not adding up. For some of us who are strong supporters of Mr President, only GEJ reserve the right to choose whether to run or not and from his body language, he seem to be interested. Once he declares his interest, the political jungle will realign within a month and trade offs (the hallmark of politics) will be made and he will go on to win the election again and hand over to his successor (most likely of PDP) to continue transforming this country.

I suggest that you APC folks should 'please be guided'

OBJ failed, but he built, GEREGU, AFAM, OMOTOSHO, OLORUNSHOGO AND PAPALANTO power plants

OBJ failed, but he built the same Omotosho GEJ is commissioning.

How daft and ignorant can some of you be?

Lets go about it this way, what was Nigeria's power generating capacity on May 29, 1999 and the capacity on May 29, 2007? While you are at it, also tell us the average time it takes to procure, instal and commission a 500MW power plant. That will tell us a lot.

I respect OBJ as a President, I cannot say that he failed, I was among those that were against the report of Elumelu HoR panel because I feel that that committe does not have the capacity to appraise the performance a complex procurement contract like power plant. But to compare the success ot GEJ to that of OBJ specifically in power sector is to lie to oneself. GEJ is implementing a far more complex and methodical transformation of the electricity landscape of this country, not just building power plant or articulating legislation. OBJ does not just have the discipline to conduct a transparent privatization process without interferrence. GEJ has the discipline, can absorb knocks, so far he believes in what he is doing and is thoroughly self motivated unlike OBJ that is motivated by external events. You may not like GEJ's charisma or carriage but that guy is far more intelligent than a combination of the people calling him 'clueless'. He proves this by not even arguing his intellingence with you. He is a perfect listener, a fact based judgement maker and never impulsive. He has also proven that he know how to troubleshoot a complex issue, identify the problem, resolve it, recouple the system and move on without listening to the noise makers. He is also not intimidated by very intelligent people, that is a sign of super intelligence and maturity.

Finally, I will like to remind you and others that think like you that OBJ, Yar A'Dua and GEJ all belong to the biggest political party in Africa - The PDP. Power sector reform is a PDP policy. Late President Yar A'Adua only slowed down this PDP agenda after listening to people who think and talk like you, but GEJ has revived it. You may wish to note that work was ongoing in this plant and many others like it while you were busy calling GEJ all sorts of names, even while you were at Ojota carrying placard to ensure the entrenchment of the status quo in early 2012. Work there did not start today.

To fellow country men, transforming a country like Nigeria is not an easy task. Gaining the trust of everybody is even more difficult. Support GEJ to achieve his set targets. Support PDP to implement her program through men like GEJ.

Not so. Nigeria is 53 not 99 or whatever. The pre-independent enclave was not a nation by any means.

Nigeria is 99. Nigeria of 1914 as it is today, is not a nation. We can say a nation-state, but not a nation. Talking about southern Cameroon, Bakassi was just ceded to Cameroon, so we cannot say that the country is given birth to the day our territory is cast, otherwise, we will be about one year old, not 53 (Nigeria having fully ceded Bakassi to Cameroon in 2012).

The pre-independent enclave was a nation-state, with a clearly defined terriroty and identity. What happened in 1960 was like the date a slave gained his freedom, not the day he got an identity as a human beign. Probably the date he got an independent identity.

It is a country that gets independence from colonial masters. A country is not born after it has gotten independent, otherwise, you can't consider it a colony. You cannot free nothing, you free a country.

If u don't know, I am one of d ppl that can say it any day,anytime that privatisation of PHCN is d way 4wrd cos PHCN is d most corrupt organisation in Nigeria, so if GEJ will privatise let him pay them to allow peace to reign. Hope u know that PHCN is on strike now?

Why exactly should a normal Nigerian be bitter at the news of FG handover of PHCN to private inverstors after a more than 90% succesful privatisation process? I don't just get it. This PHCN strike you are talking about, will there really still be PHCN by the time it starts on October 2?

I think it will be better if you share exactly why you are not happy at this news to the extent of attempting to douse the implication. After the handover today, the successor companies will kick in to restructure the DISCOs and GENCOs for more efficient service delivery and I think that should be more important to any one that wishes Nigeria well.

For the sake of information, PHCN as we know it is functionally dead. They are being officially sent packing today and the corporate entity called PHCN will disappear after Mr President's handover. When that happens, EMS will be pronouced on the advice of NERC to the Minister of Power and their (EMS) job will be majorly the certification of electricity equipments among other ancilliary support services, no more a main service. The implication is that SON may not just be incharge of the certification of for example, the electric cables anymore but EMS.

To understand exactly where we are in this privatization landscape, please, hear from the Minister here:
http://leadership.ng/news/110913/phcn-ceases-exist-few-weeks-nebo

If you can purchase researched works like the below, you will understand better what you are dealing with here. This is not just a goat meat pepper soup issue, but a very complex, well thought out policy that is so far recording almost 100% success. Now, let me state that non payment of few of the old PHCN workers as at today could reduce the success margin by not more than 5%, and a 95% success in power sector transformation target by any government any where in the world is a huge record.

Politics / Re: Plot To Impeach Tambuwal Hits A Dead End by FrankC3: 3:36pm On Sep 22, 2013
The plot to impeach Tambuwal thickened and also dispersed in The Punch newspaper. I have said it before and I will say it again, The Presidency has no interest in Tambuwal and his group so long as the present balance of power persists. GEJ will not even support the impeachment of a man who position has no political value to his interests.
And most importantly, Tambuwal is a smart politician who chooses his fights, not like Amaechi. He never insults the President and ensures that ALL of the President's policies pass on the floor of the house. He has never frustrated any of the Presidents position on issues or policies, so why should a good political strategist pursue his impeachment?

Tambuwal is actually a fault line in the opposition build up because he is PDP through and through. The APC kids can continue with their noise, but the liver of the lion is only a vain wish to the lizard. Should GEJ decide to run in 2015, Tambuwal and his likes will line up behind him probably not because they love the man but because their political future is only made secure by the structure Mr President presently command they place their interest above pleasing any APC kids.
Politics / Re: Nigeria News - Why Nine Ministers Were Sacked By Goodluck Jonathan by FrankC3: 8:08am On Sep 18, 2013
When you call your pot empty can, children will pack sand with it. In 2011, the PDP hierarchy decided to zone the Speakership of House of Representatives to the South West. The South Western politicians, led by Tinubu, mobilized the legislators against their own sister and campaigned massively for Tambuwal, a Northwestern Rep. There were many muted reasons for this, but the most plausible was to stop a repeat of Bankole/OGB/OBJ face off. Today, Tambuwal is the Speaker and can negotiate better for the people that elected him, that is, if that is what he really wanted to do.

He who does not know where the rain start beating him will never know where it stops. It is not enough to engage in heavy propaganda war against the every other person, you should also question your leaders who sold out your alloted position on the alter of political expediency. You should start by asking how exactly you got to where you are.

However, I think it is a little too early to start all this propaganda, afterall, it took months before Nnaji was replaced with Nebo and nobody went to the press crying. Let the 9 ministers be replaced first and we will all look at the national representation.
Politics / Re: Presidency Launches Plot To Remove Tambuwal, Others by FrankC3: 7:45am On Sep 18, 2013
The events in the HoR has never bothered Aso Rock to the extent of 'plotting' to remove Tambuwal. If it were to be so, there were enough provocations following the events of January 2012 but the power pendulum in the NA is comfortably balanced off by the mature grip on the Senate by Mark. All the noise is part of 'Police stop Amaechi from entering government house' noise. Tell me exactly why the Presidency should be worried about House of Reps? Aso Rock has gotten every thing it wants from the National Assembly, even till tomorrow. Check the records.

For APC kids who are so keen to outsource 'opposition' to PDP members, this arrangement give them some false comfort. Tambuwal is a PDP man. He is just trying to be noticed and even more of a weak link for APC than for PDP, that is why born political strategists have never been bothered by his activities. Come 2015, Tambuwal will fall in line and support PDP candidate whom we all know who it will be should he decide to contest. PDP will still win ALL the electoral seats in Sokoto and most part of that axis and the power equation will still be balanced accordingly. The only losers here will be 'the politically sophisticated' who in an attempt to spite PDP, lost their representation in the top echelon of the Legislature leadership and are being given what they desire most - the opportunity to make noise, the very thing they are willing to spend fortune to get.

Really a rose that sprout from the cracks, most fervent representation of every contradiction known to human instincts. You have my respect for being really human at those times you found time to be, and at those moments when it seemed that the trigger should settle every other thing, I wish you and other brothers in the hood had remembers that your grand fathers once sailed thousands of miles from the shores of Africa. I wish you had remembered that improbable journey, for i sure know that if you had been a little more Afro-Centric, you could have tamed that beast a little better.

You were a philosopher, a poet, a hero, a leader and a man. Though the contradictions represented in the lyrics of 'Dear Mama' and 'Hit 'em up' further illuminate the continous pressure we face here on earth, you lived and died like a man. I wish you had not really hit 'em up. I wished you had kept your head up. You continue rise again each time in the lives of most of your admirers, even in death.

Accept my tribute. I don't just hope that the heaven got a ghetto, I also hope it got enough Hennessey and weeds. I sure know that you could be at a joint up there with your much desired Black jesus.

Politics / Re: PDP Governors Snub Tuesday "Peace Parley " With President Jonathan by FrankC3: 6:52am On Sep 06, 2013
Every nonesense opinion of people make it to newspaper front page these days. Jonathan, in deference to the which PDP governors? For those who know better, even those against his ambition are getting worried that the guy is not giving the them as much attention as they would have wanted and they resort to sahara reporters to make up the balance.

Smart politicians like Atiku and Lamido are involved in fierce internal battle even within the Kwankwaso camp to scheme each other out and get the President's nod to support them in 2019. The fight is not even much about 2015 anymore, as they know that only God and GEJ can stop the President from contesting and winning the 2015 elections.

Anyday GEJ concede to support Atiku's ambition in 2019 will be the day he leaves that camp, but GEJ like to be second guessed. For Sahara reporters to now put out a headline that GEJ(the very man with ALL the aces) is now the one going after the governors (who are more like pawns in the chessboard of Tony Anenih) is pure delusion. Watch the fragments of power get perfectly aligned before 2015 as concessions are made and interests taken care of.

Individuals don't run for elections in Nigeria. Political parties does. If ALL legal requirements were fulfilled and PDP won the election, he can decide to repudiate his party's victory and refuse to be sworn in. His party will immediately shop for his replacement and nothing changes.

Akamu and Stew: What's this article about

How would you know what it about? I am sure that once APC is replaced by PDP, Ajimobi replaced with Akpabio or GEJ and Oyo State replaced with Akwa Ibom or Nigeria, it will make tons of meaning to you.

Politics / Re: Suntai Is Incapable Of Administering The State-taraba State House Of Assembly by FrankC3: 7:41am On Aug 30, 2013
This action appear so unreasonable to me. Let me reproduce the relevant sections of the Nigerian constitution. My understanding of these sections is different from what this Speaker is doing.

The consitution declare the basic health qualification of a Governor as:

Section (S).182(1)(c) - “no person shall be qualified for election to the office of Governor of a State if, under the law in any part of Nigeria, he is adjudged to be a lunatic or otherwise declared to be of unsound mind.”

Now, if a Governor wants to proceed on leave, the constitution states that:

S.190(1) - ” Whenever the Governor is proceeding on vacation or is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office, he shall transmit a written declaration to the Speaker of the HA to that effect, and until he transmits to the Speaker of the HA a written declaration to the contrary, the DG shall perform the functions of the Governor as Acting Governor”;

“(2) In the event that the Governor is unable or fails to transmit the written declaration mentioned in subsection (1) of this Section within 21 days, the HA shall, by a resolution, made by a simple majority of the vote of the House, mandate the DG to perform the functions of the office of the Governor as Acting Governor, until the Governor transmits a letter to the Speaker that he is now available to resume his functions as Governor

Now, when the Governor returns from such trip, he just need to notify the House of Assembly, and not take permission from them, to resume his office as is indicated in the bolded above.

If such a person resumes and you feel that he is not fit to continue, there is a procedure. This is what the constitution says about that:

Section 189 “(1) the Governor or Deputy Governor (DG) of a State shall cease to hold office, if- (a) by a resolution passed by two- thirds majority of all the members of the executive council of the State, it is declared that the Governor or DG is incapable of discharging the functions of his office; and (b) the declaration is verified, after such medical examination as may be necessary, by a medical panel established under Subsection 4 of this Section in its report to the Speaker of the State HA;

(2) where the medical panel certifies in the report that in its opinion the Governor or DG is suffering from such infirmity of body or mind as renders him permanently incapable of discharging the functions of his office, a notice thereof signed by the Speaker of the HA shall be published in the Official Gazette of the Government of the State;

(3) The Governor or DG shall cease to hold office as from the date of publication of the notice of the medical report pursuant to Subsection 2 of this Section;

(4) the medical panel to which this Section relates shall be appointed by the Speaker of the HA, and shall comprise five medical practitioners in Nigeria- (a) one of whom shall be the personal physician of the holder of the office concerned; and (b) four other medical practitioners who have, in the opinion of the Speaker of the HA, attained a high degree of eminence in the field of medicine relative to the nature of the examination to be conducted in accordance with the foregoing provisions;

(5) In this Section, the reference to “executive council of the State” is a reference to the body of Commissioners of the Government of the State, howsoever called, established by the Governor and charged with such responsibilities for the functions of Government as the Governor may direct”

Now, how can a Speaker be making careless statements as if his visit to the Governor is enough to declare him 'unfit to rule'? He must follow the procedure to the letter. For now, Suntai remains the Governor of Taraba State.
