happy Sunday

Can I order for gcms note without UCI (unique client identifier)?
The person went through paper route and UCI wasn't included in the application only student number.
Please someone should help me with this
You need a UCI number prior to ordering a GCMS note. The person should link his/her application online in order to access the UCI number.

Thanks for your response. However, I got confused when I got to this quoted part. Are you saying I do not need to take part in an interview before I am issued visahuh
Yes! The Canadian Embassy will not invite you for an oral interview. Only on a rare occasion will such exist.

abeg i have a question
i will be applying soon for visa
my fees are about 5m
my dad is my sponsor and he has retired with about 25m in his Axamansard annuity insurance
he runs a lending buisness and has people owing up a total of 17m....he has post dated checks for the collection of the money by the way
he also has 8m in treasury bills
he also has several landed properties and houses from which he collecting rent
does he need to put 5m in a seperate account for my visa application or he should just submit proof all these above
Your dad doesn't need to transfer the 5M separately into an account for the purpose of your visa application. He can submit the treasury bills of 8M and the annuity insurance of 25M. He should also get a cover letter from the bank/insurance company attesting that the funds in these accounts can be accessible and liquidated once you've gotten your TRV or before your trip to Canada. The visa officer wants to be truly satisfied that the stated funds presented in your application will be made available for you without restrictions. Once you can do as advised by me, you will be fine!

My oga, i greet you. Please is it possible for one to change course in the same college after getting visa? Would the school contact the Embassy if one tries to do this?
Very possible! As long as you're enrolled in the school, you've no qualms whatsoever changing your course of study. As a matter of fact, you can also change DLI once you've gotten your visa before travelling to Canada through your MyCIC account. The school only contacts the embassy when you're found wanting and haven't resumed studies. In your case, you can go ahead with your plans. It's legitimate.

GURUS IN THE HOUSE PLEASE HELP!!

There is a mistake in the DOB of my WAEC certificate (wrong day, month, and year). I will be applying for my TRV next year after gaining admission for my Masters.

Please considering that I am going for masters, is it compulsory I go for my interview with my WAEC certificatehuh

I wouldn’t like the VO to see the contradicting DOB in my WAEC and int passport.
Many post graduate applicants on this reputable thread got their visas without including a WAEC certificate. Hence, it's not compulsory. All you need is your degree certificate, transcripts, NYSC discharge papers etc.. Also, be guided that the Canadian embassy doesn't conduct an interview prior to the issuance of visa. You're expected to write a compelling SOP that potary you as a genuine applicant and would depart after studies.

Processing time now 16weeks.....my interpretation of the average processing time being 16weeks, in the light of recent times ( kenya=8weeks; london =24weeks) grin grin grin grin
Let's be thankful to God because by this time last year 2017 it was 22 weeks. This shows that the Canadian embassy are becoming efficient and faster in handling applications.

I am happy to hear you find the little piece useful! You can always drop your questions here for the benefit of others who share the same case scenario with you. So they could learn from it and put in good use the advices in their application. I'll always try to respond to your queries during my leisure time. I will like to switch to something more government related as I studied international studies and diplomacy in the univ, and I feel my present course I was given admission for doesn't match my university degree (human resources and international business management). I want to change the course before reapplying again and I hope if doesn't affect my application o. What do you think sire
Changing a course of study in order to address the concerns of the visa officer about your previous refused visa application doesn't affect your application, either it increases your chances and also goes a long run to satisfy the visa officer that you're a bona-fide applicant and your sole purpose of travelling to Canada is strictly for studies. Go ahead and apply for a program that has a strong correlation with your previous studies/current job role it demonstrates progression.

All the best!

I just confirmed it my application is been processed at Lagos.
I think from Nov to mid Feb , paper application are been processed in Lagos and not kenya
I am very interested in this topic!... Please educate the house on how you came up with this? I know very well that all paper applications after submission do get an email notification that their application are being processed at Lagos with an additional email correspondence notifying them of their local tracking number. This doesn't imply they are the ones handling the visa application, because all paper applications are being couriered to Kenya visa office for due visa processing. I believe that's the reason you used the word (I think) @ the bolded

Okay, Thank you.
Jummy902:
Please how did you confirm it?
Hello Jummy902,

Are you sending a mail to them just to confirm the visa office that is handling your application? In the case that's what you intend doing, I must utter that it doesn't appear logical and for sure they won't respond to your query if you don't have a cogent reason for contacting them and also if your application hasn't exceeded the normal processing times for Nigerian applicants (15 Weeks). Please for crying out loud, let's allow these guys do their job and stop putting unnecessary fears on ourselves. The most important thing is getting an approval, not minding the visa office processing the visa.

Peace!

It's very possible to change your course of study. What program do you intend switching afterwards, is it a lucrative field that is financially rewarding in Nigeria after graduation from Canada.?

Hey guys, this is my first-time on here, fortunately stumbled on this forum after my refusal a week ago. Please I need help to help re-strategize and reapply again. I was refused based on the fact that I might not return after the course of my studies due to purpose of visit, personal and financial situation, travel history and employment status. Presently, my dad is sponsoring the whole process with about 14m , I am presently unemployed (did voluntarily work as an intern for 6months ), no family assets in my name as I am the second child, no travel history, and I am going to do a PGD programme in leadership in global business practices (hrm and IBM) a 2 years program at thunder bay Canada (confederation college) , have a first degree of international studies and diplomacy , . Please I need help and advice on how to re package my application and solve all these issues raised . Please a reply would be greatly appreciated. Please o I need a reply oooo
It's sad to hear your visa was rejected! The reasons for your refusal has already been discussed a year ago on this thread. Please go through YOUR REFUSAL GROUNDS and also ORDER YOUR GCMS NOTE to know the factual reasons behind your refusal.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Frankrobbn1:
Senatorkolade:
I understand your point but let base our hope on the one that is certain
Refusal is not a big deal as far as Canada visa is a concern. Is not about being empathetic or not. I have seen somebody with good travel history to UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany and Australia been refused and funny enough, the VO mentioned limited travel history in the GCMS notes. That is Kenya VO for you.
So being refused Canada visa is not somebody we will be beating about the bush for.
You're actually correct with your standpoint. The applicant I used as a case study, his application was processed and approved by Lagos visa officer. This was when some applications were transferred and handled by Lagos as at the beginning of this year. Indeed, I will say that he was lucky for not have being called for medicals and was granted visa. I guess this might be an oversight from the Lagos VO's because I can remember vividly that they were very compassionate in issuing visas to Nigerians unlike Kenya VO's. Also, there was much approvals from them and London VO's. In a nutshell, the applicant that got a notification today that the processed passport has been dispatched, should go and pick up the passport, share her profile, apply for her GCMS note, restrategize and refire!

It shall end in praises!

You are married with a sweet boy US citizen, my brother, why can't you sponsor yourself? And what exactly is your home tie? Cause your folks are in the US
Plus I hope your sop is fully grounded cause you've got a lot of work to convince the VO why undergraduate level prove to them what you've been doing, that's more reason you have to come out as a self-sponsor my brother.
Anyways, peeps have gotten the visa with the same profile
Nothing spoil

I saw it somewhere prolly not in here they said VOs don't really recognize SA and Dubai visa as travel history... please who can help me with this rumor?
Is the rumor correct?

Though travel history no mean anything to get Canada visa unlike the US
Very true! SA and Dubai Visas aren't regarded as a good travel history by CIC. A good travel histories are first-rate countries like US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France etc..

Please house, do I need to submit SOP to the embassy? I’m an undergraduate student and I’ve been issued an admission and ready to submit and go for my biometric tomorrow.

Thanks
SOP is not a compulsory requirement for a study permit application, although it helps to provide clarity to the Visa officer about your primary intention of travelling to Canada to undertake your proposed program in which you're accepted in.

A typical SOP should reflect the following:
1-) Describe your academic background briefly.
2-) The program of choice.
3-) The school.
4-) Why you choose Canada not Nigeria.
5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working.
6-) What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you and your country in the future. (Your Short term and Long term after study plan).
7-) Your ties to Nigeria that can compel your return back home after studies.

As I said earlier, it's not compulsory as many applicants have gotten their TRV without writing/including one. The decision is yours to make, whether to write or not.

All the best as you proceed to the VFS to complete your biometrics.

It is highly impossible for a Nigerian to be approved for study permit without medicals. We shouldn't give ourselves any hope that is not there.
REFUSAL IS REFUSAL
Chief! You self no get joy o! grin grin Well to the bolded, Over my existence on this thread, I can only account for one applicant (a very good friend of mine) who got his TRV without being instructed to go for a medical exam. I confirmed his approval to be authentic being that I was in a close contact with him throughout the process and when he finally picked up his passport at the VFS with his visa affixed on his Passport. As I am talking to you right now, he is currently studying in Canada. Therefore, It's not impossible okay, but the possibility of seeing such an approval is very very very RARE

Cheers!

No! It doesn't... The essence of linking an application online is to keep track of the progress of your application. It doesn't in anyway delay the visa application process.

Yes oo Mr Frank .. I intend to remove some pages from the 3 months SOA... Lol. I have 140 pages of SOA alone .
Wow! 3 months SOA with 140 pages, that's much. Please it's better you go for paper route considering that your documents are bulky and you've other supporting documents (proof of income) to upload in the proof of financial support column. I won't advice you to remove any part of your SOA, in connection with the fact that is one of the crucial document when it comes to Canada study visa and shouldn't be tampered.

My advice, go for paper route!

On the biometrics letter it was stated clearly that you've 30days to submit your fingerprints and capture at the VFS. As long as you can complete it within the stipulated time frame by CIC. You're safe.

Hi Guys ! Good morning .. Please is it advisable to remove some pages of your SOA if the pages are too much to compress ??
Instead of removing some pages from the SOA, why not print a 4 months bank statement, at least this will reduce the pages and also show consistent inflow and outflow of funds with available balance.
