Doubleapproval:As recommended by the moderator of this thread use this to order your gcms note |
Austacus:You need a UCI number prior to ordering a GCMS note. The person should link his/her application online in order to access the UCI number. |
goingforward:Congratulations goingforward, may the same God who favoured your application also turn out to favour us all IJN. I wish you the very best as you travel along with your family to Canada. |
Ormohlawlah:December 22nd - December 27th |
Ysakaws1:Yes! The Canadian Embassy will not invite you for an oral interview. Only on a rare occasion will such exist. |
k997bomb:Your dad doesn't need to transfer the 5M separately into an account for the purpose of your visa application. He can submit the treasury bills of 8M and the annuity insurance of 25M. He should also get a cover letter from the bank/insurance company attesting that the funds in these accounts can be accessible and liquidated once you've gotten your TRV or before your trip to Canada. The visa officer wants to be truly satisfied that the stated funds presented in your application will be made available for you without restrictions. Once you can do as advised by me, you will be fine! |
Naijaforeigner:Very possible! As long as you're enrolled in the school, you've no qualms whatsoever changing your course of study. As a matter of fact, you can also change DLI once you've gotten your visa before travelling to Canada through your MyCIC account. The school only contacts the embassy when you're found wanting and haven't resumed studies. In your case, you can go ahead with your plans. It's legitimate. |
Ysakaws1:Many post graduate applicants on this reputable thread got their visas without including a WAEC certificate. Hence, it's not compulsory. All you need is your degree certificate, transcripts, NYSC discharge papers etc.. Also, be guided that the Canadian embassy doesn't conduct an interview prior to the issuance of visa. You're expected to write a compelling SOP that potary you as a genuine applicant and would depart after studies. |
canadabyfire:Let's be thankful to God because by this time last year 2017 it was 22 weeks. This shows that the Canadian embassy are becoming efficient and faster in handling applications.

Andrepete:I am happy to hear you find the little piece useful! You can always drop your questions here for the benefit of others who share the same case scenario with you. So they could learn from it and put in good use the advices in their application. I'll always try to respond to your queries during my leisure time. In my absence, there are also knowledgeable gurus here that can assist in your reapplication. Best of luck! |
Andrepete:Changing a course of study in order to address the concerns of the visa officer about your previous refused visa application doesn't affect your application, either it increases your chances and also goes a long run to satisfy the visa officer that you're a bona-fide applicant and your sole purpose of travelling to Canada is strictly for studies. Go ahead and apply for a program that has a strong correlation with your previous studies/current job role it demonstrates progression. All the best! |
Success2019:I am very interested in this topic!... Please educate the house on how you came up with this? I know very well that all paper applications after submission do get an email notification that their application are being processed at Lagos with an additional email correspondence notifying them of their local tracking number. This doesn't imply they are the ones handling the visa application, because all paper applications are being couriered to Kenya visa office for due visa processing. I believe that's the reason you used the word (I think) @ the bolded |
Jummy902: Jummy902:Hello Jummy902, Are you sending a mail to them just to confirm the visa office that is handling your application? In the case that's what you intend doing, I must utter that it doesn't appear logical and for sure they won't respond to your query if you don't have a cogent reason for contacting them and also if your application hasn't exceeded the normal processing times for Nigerian applicants (15 Weeks). Please for crying out loud, let's allow these guys do their job and stop putting unnecessary fears on ourselves. The most important thing is getting an approval, not minding the visa office processing the visa. Peace! |
Andrepete:It's very possible to change your course of study. What program do you intend switching afterwards, is it a lucrative field that is financially rewarding in Nigeria after graduation from Canada.? |
oskaroni:English should be the ideal language to fill in. |
Andrepete:It's sad to hear your visa was rejected! The reasons for your refusal has already been discussed a year ago on this thread. Please go through YOUR REFUSAL GROUNDS and also ORDER YOUR GCMS NOTE to know the factual reasons behind your refusal. |
Senatorkolade:You're actually correct with your standpoint. The applicant I used as a case study, his application was processed and approved by Lagos visa officer. This was when some applications were transferred and handled by Lagos as at the beginning of this year. Indeed, I will say that he was lucky for not have being called for medicals and was granted visa. I guess this might be an oversight from the Lagos VO's because I can remember vividly that they were very compassionate in issuing visas to Nigerians unlike Kenya VO's. Also, there was much approvals from them and London VO's. In a nutshell, the applicant that got a notification today that the processed passport has been dispatched, should go and pick up the passport, share her profile, apply for her GCMS note, restrategize and refire! It shall end in praises! |
Austacus:You're deep-rooted and full of persistent knowledge! Keep it up with the useful information |
Austacus:Very true! SA and Dubai Visas aren't regarded as a good travel history by CIC. A good travel histories are first-rate countries like US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France etc.. |
Iwadaboss:SOP is not a compulsory requirement for a study permit application, although it helps to provide clarity to the Visa officer about your primary intention of travelling to Canada to undertake your proposed program in which you're accepted in. A typical SOP should reflect the following: 1-) Describe your academic background briefly. 2-) The program of choice. 3-) The school. 4-) Why you choose Canada not Nigeria. 5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working. 6-) What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you and your country in the future. (Your Short term and Long term after study plan). 7-) Your ties to Nigeria that can compel your return back home after studies. As I said earlier, it's not compulsory as many applicants have gotten their TRV without writing/including one. The decision is yours to make, whether to write or not. All the best as you proceed to the VFS to complete your biometrics. |
Senatorkolade:Chief! You self no get joy o! Well to the bolded, Over my existence on this thread, I can only account for one applicant (a very good friend of mine) who got his TRV without being instructed to go for a medical exam. I confirmed his approval to be authentic being that I was in a close contact with him throughout the process and when he finally picked up his passport at the VFS with his visa affixed on his Passport. As I am talking to you right now, he is currently studying in Canada. Therefore, It's not impossible okay, but the possibility of seeing such an approval is very very very RARECheers! |
Louisanc:No! It doesn't... The essence of linking an application online is to keep track of the progress of your application. It doesn't in anyway delay the visa application process. |
dubaiboy1:Wow! 3 months SOA with 140 pages, that's much. Please it's better you go for paper route considering that your documents are bulky and you've other supporting documents (proof of income) to upload in the proof of financial support column. I won't advice you to remove any part of your SOA, in connection with the fact that is one of the crucial document when it comes to Canada study visa and shouldn't be tampered. My advice, go for paper route! |
Rodeoz:The possibility of the bolded is very very rare. If you had linked your application online, you would have known your fate immediately because once a decision is made, a correspondence letter will be updated on your MyCIC account. |
imoriafe:On the biometrics letter it was stated clearly that you've 30days to submit your fingerprints and capture at the VFS. As long as you can complete it within the stipulated time frame by CIC. You're safe. |
Ayok90:It's normal, you subscribed for a monthly update on your application through your MyCIC account. |
dubaiboy1:Then go ahead and submit the 3 months SOA, it's also acceptable!. Wait a minute, is it the 3 months SOA that you intend removing some pages? If yes, I don't buy the idea of you doing such. |
Awuuga:Amen o Bro! Thank you, Thank you! |
Awuuga:Congrats! Has it been uploaded on your Mycic account? If not you can send a CSE to Lagos lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca and it will be updated within 24hours. |
Osasalfred44:Don't be discouraged by what people say and doom yourself into secret misery. You can see someone just shared her TRV success story few hours ago before you dropped this question of yours. This alone prove your agent assertions to be wrong. Do yourself good by reading through the past threads from PART 13 to PART 15. Trust me once you're done with these threads, you will be far better than anyone here. All the best! |
dubaiboy1:Instead of removing some pages from the SOA, why not print a 4 months bank statement, at least this will reduce the pages and also show consistent inflow and outflow of funds with available balance. |
