JennyKadry2: Hi,
1. I am her sponsor. She is my niece 2. She paid nothing. Not a cent. Hang on, I think we only paid application fee(100CAD or so) for the course but no fees no nothing 3. One thing I have learned in my years in obodo oyibo is sometimes less is more. I only showed proof of 1 yr tuition/ living expenses as per their requirement. To answer your question, her one year living expenses/tutition e.t.c is about 6.5 million Naira. I had that amount in one of my accounts so I used that account. I did not provide statements of all my bank accounts. Just the one
I printed out bank statement online and submitted. No bank stamp on the statement just regular online statement This is a clear example that there is no blueprint for this Canada visa thingy. All one needs is to do their best and seek for God's favour to locate their application at the processing visa office. Congratulations to your niece. |

042viber12: Pls people rushing to go do upfront medicals immediately after submission, despite the fact upfront medicals fastens it and by "fastens" it means it will still stay the normal 3-5months or hopefully less, wen it gets to the eligibility review stage, it goes directly to passport request... mind u, cic doesn't care if u do the Medicals..if u are denied..its more like u have wasted money on doing it...I believe even we u reapply, u will still do another medical(might be wrong shaa) I urge if u are doing upfront medicals, wait for at least 2months after submission..so dat by the 2months, u will probably have a clue wea your application progress is... Medical result is valid for a period of 12 months and can be used with other subsequent applications within this period of time. Nice work you're doing here. I commend your persistent contributions to this thread. |

princeadelek: Please I need you to put me through, my wife want apply for Canada study visa early February as a married woman while I will apply for mine towards ending of February or early march as a married man, I hope it won't be an issue for them to refuse us. Because we are applying separately so it will look like we have a strong tie back home mcobex: If you have enough time I would advise you allow her application to be treated first. If she gets approval then you can apply for spousal (instead of study permit) which will benefit you more. Though it is still possible to apply for TRV almost together but I won't advise that. NB: MY PERSONAL OPINION Ormohlawlah: I agree with you.plus I dont think you can hide the fact that you both are married to one another because when she applies as a married woman like you say,CIC would definitely ask for her husband's birth certificate, and that of the kids.(I stand to be corrected) they might also need you to give your consent to your wife and so you might have to write a letter showing that you are in support of her leaving to study abroad. Let her apply, use you as home tie and when she gets it you can apply to go along with her... @ princeadelek your query has been sorted out. Let your wife apply first, you will stand as a strong tie to her application, once she gets her TRV approved, you can then apply for a SOWP which allows you to work until the length of her stay in Canada. Whilst, your kids will apply for TRV. |

Obabori1: Thank you very much. Please, regarding the travel history, is there anything I can do asides traveling to a different country first? Also, how do I prove to them that I would come back to the country after my program. What other advice would you give me in order for me to have a better chance of securing the visa. Travel history is not a factual reason for a Canadian study visa refusal. Hence, you don't need to travel out from your home country before you can get your application approved. if you have not travelled before, you can simply tell the Visa officer in your SOP that you don't like traveling. You only want to travel now because of how important this BSc/MSc/PhD is to your career back home with a lot of outstanding openings in front Or you can say your busy work schedule doesn't allow you to travel. To convince the officer that you're a bona-fide applicant and will leave after your study period, you must prove that you have sufficient ties to your home country that will motivate you to return to your home country at the end of your authorized stay. You must also prove that you will abide by the terms and conditions on your study permit as an international student. A well written SOP/LOE as the case maybe must suffice stating the reason why you choose to undertake your proposed program in Canada rather than your home country, Nigeria. The lucrativeness of such program in your home country. What you intend to achieve in a short-term and long-term basis. The difference you could make when you return to your country e.g setting up a company of your own and creating wide range of employment opportunities for your country men etc... * Proof of properties located in your country of residence preferably in your name(or parent's name that you're directly heir to). This assets could be land, house or a registered business etc.. * Proof that your immediate family members (aged parents, siblings, spouse and kids) are in Nigeria and aren't accompanying you to Canada, would also be a strong reason for you to go back home when you have finished your studies. * Financial obligations and moral responsibilities which falls on you such as leadership role, military, community, church and family that you must return to continue active participation and attendance in meetings. (A letter from any of these bodies would help). Also remember to order your gcms note as this will give us a clearer picture on what went wrong with your previous refused application. I hope the information provided is adequate to what you seek. Feel free to reach out here if you face any difficulty along the process and I will be happy to guide you through. |

Obabori1: Good Day people. I applied for a Canadian study visa after getting admission to a school there and paying my fees, a post graduate course. I was refused visa based on the assumption that I won't return to Nigeria and also that I do not have a travel history. Please, what do you think my next line of action should be as I really do want to go for the course? It's quite unfortunate to hear your TRV application was refused. At this point, your best move is ordering your gcms note. In the absence of the note, you can share your profile, application date, the list of documents you submitted with your application, your level of education, who was your sponsor, program of choice. With these information from you, we could trace what led to the refusal of your application. Always have in mind that the Race Is Not Always to the Swift, Nor the Battle to the Strong. It shall end in praises in your next application |

LearnAndObey: Hi guys, I don't know what to enter I to the UCI coulumn. Kindly assist. Thanks. Bracha: UCI (Unique Client Identifier) is given to those who have previously applied via the online route. So if you've applied online before, you can write the UCI, but if you haven't, leave it blank. Determinedsoul: I thought UCI is for anyone that has done biometrics. Is it for only online application? Someone applied via paper, did biometrics and in his 2nd applied he used the UCI still the paper route. So not sure it's for online app only. My thought though. UCI means (Unique Client Identifier), is an offical number given to applicants that has previously applied for a visa to Canada whether through the online or paper route. This number will be used in the applicant future applications with the Canadian government. If this is your first time of applying for a Canadian visa, you are ought to leave the space blank. @LearnAndObey |

Raymondrain: Good evening house.... Am applying for Canada study permit very soon and am applying from another country( not naija). Please find what are my chances?
According what have read, the rate of success is very low due to mostly rejections based on hometies. You're eligible to apply for a Canadian study permit outside of your home country if you're presently holding a work permit, study visa or a permanent residence of the country you're applying from. Aside the above stated, you're ought to return to your home country as the likelihood of your study permit application been refused on the basis of Immigration status in country of residence, Purpose of Visit and Home ties is very high. |

johnsonsegxy: Bro Cana respect Sponsorship a lots cos they believe schooling and working to sponsor your full self will be a tedious things to do and might have negative effect on the main purpose of your visit to Canada which is study so in this case someone sponsoring you be it any family members give u edge...
I'd suggest you go runz this stuff... Some bankers do it.. Though you won't have access to the money, is just to show proof to the VO that u have sponsor that will carter for u while studying in Canada and the sponsor SoA must read from 12m-20m in Naira.... That's the new policy now (came out last week) Hello:johnsonsegxy, How did you come up with the bolded words?, please can you educate me more as I am very eager to learn it. Over my 2 years of existence on this faithful platform, I haven't heard nor seen where it was advertised on the news/internet that Treasury bill investment/Fixed deposit statements aren't regarded as proof of funds for a Canadian study visa. As a matter of fact, I know countless of applicants who used T/Bill as part of their financial support and got their TRV approved. I always encourage applicants who plans to include a treasury bills with their application to acquire a reference letter from their bank attesting firmly that the funds in the treasury bill investment account can be liquidated at any given time or before the applicant resumption date. Mind you, what determines financial sufficiency by the visa officer is the total amount present and the availability and accessiblity of funds by the applicant. Most often, the visa officer go as far as checking the possibility and financial status of the sponsor to finance subsequent years of study. Of what use would it be negotiating with a banker when funds can't be readily available and accessible by the applicant? Be guided properly @ Mykaelolalekan. The treasury bill investment of 7 million which will mature by July and cash of 4 million is a good proof of funds for a Canadian study visa. |

sleekysoft: TRV JOURNEY ——(not the Full gist cos e long)
This would be my first longest post on NL and I am doing this to bless someone.. I joined the Canada visa thread around middle of 2016, after my father friend suggested I comeback to Canada via advance diploma at MuN..Due to my curiously nature, I started searching Info and stumbled on nairaland I read from Part 1 to Part 13 ( or there about then ) . I started looking for admission( I have a bachelor of Agriculture- 3.0 overall cgpa). Agriculture is usually( usually I say) research based cos of the nature of Moreno practicals than class work. Googled schools of Msc agriculture related and got 5 which include do Dalhouise, Uni of Manitoba, Uni of Alberta, Uni of Saskatchewan and MUn.. I wrote almost 50 research supervisor in 2016 and I got the no space response.. Guess what MUn that was the least preferred school was were I got a response from a Dr who asked me apply to graduate school and indicate my interest in working with him. Now here is The wahala( lol) I applied for fall 2017 around November 2016 and guess what o wasn’t given admission. I literally call and emailed my proposed supervisor and he said he is yet to decide on my file( cos he had experience with 9ja student and visa wahala as it take some time for the most getting visa) .. he told me over the phone that he is interested in working with me cos of my persistence. Told me to contact the graduate studies and tell them to shift my admissions to winter 2018, I did it and was approved free of charge. I spoke to my supervisor on phone, we chatted on Whatzapp like buddies.. as of October he called me to informing no of inability to get funding for me due to my low cgpa but cos he promised me admission. I have to prove I can pay my tuition and living expenses. Omo I gree straight( he asked don’t SOA to prove as Africans- 9jas will come to Canada and leave school claiming no money)
November 16, 2017, supervisor called me casually asking me if I would love to work with a research topic etc I was saying YES, YES me that want to enter Canada. This man spoke to me like my GEe and my father after the whole talk he said he has approved my admission and would get it by the week. boom it happened.. TRV application started March 13 paper route not a nice experience and boom refusal April 13.. I can’t cry.. I was on the forum since 2016 I have seen approval why my own go different.. is ok I manned up ordered gcms note.. During my TRV heartbreak I met Josejonn( God bless you ) and Frankrobben ( you seen a brother I never had but still have).. the Race to reapplication started. my Gcms not arrived no genuine reason, VO wasn’t convinced enough. So SoP to the resecue. I wrote 4 pages SOP and 2 pages of LOE( proof read by Josejonn, Frankrobben and myself).
2nd application- Saturday June 16, the race and wait began.. July came, August came( eligibility review started) oya medical drop e nor drop, sept came( spoke to frank and took the bull by the horn as I went for medical sept 3 at children’s practice omo I was scared oo come see me dey shiver when I Hear HIv, syphillis etc. After medical trouble started medical was updated as passed 2 weeks after to passed) , October people started seeing approval( I was like God what did I do? You did admission you must do visa. Fasting and prayer, seed sowing, vows, omo I close to God like never before - see Ehn God is a mighty one, reading bible verses and saying them to myself . His ways are not mans ways).. during October and November period, I met ibbond, Austacus you two I won’t need trade y’all for anything we meet in Canada, these guys are angels on earth
The November, December and January drew me closer to God thanks to visa.. I learn about faith and positive mindset, there were times I gave up and lost up( at some point a dude posted approval who didn’t sound like a believer and I am like God me I Am serving you and I am here now) . Infact I printed a Canadian visa page use pen to write my name pasted it on the wall and stared at it everytime, I dreamt Canada, I read Canada And here I am PPR Visa application made me know God in different ways, that is why I can say God ways isnt mans way. I stocked no to my guts even when the apply to other country startedc Canada was mine. I applied to other country cos the advice was too much..
To people we chatted and I didn’t now mention names I am sorry, to those who trusted me to interpret their gcms note , thanks.. to those who listened .. thanks
NOW I CAN NOW GIVE a stake ON ANYTHING RELATED TO CANADA STUDIES AND TRV. I no be guru..
I will be back with list of documents that I submitted
Na joy no make me commitment grammatical error CONGRATULATIONS JIBOLA. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and it finally ended in praises. May the name of the Lord be praised for this crowning achievement. Thank you for your kind words and best wishes. I am honored to be part of your TRV success story. I wish you the very best as you travel to Canada. I hope to see you contributing to the growth of this platform and assisting the new bies in achieving theirs |

kayvine4u: Hello house
Has anyone ever been invited for a chat at the consulate in Anifowoshe? How did dat turn out? I appealed my refusal and thus got d invite dat i shd come wit my passport and relevant docs. I am very interested in this topic. Did you formally appealed your refusal to the federal court of Canada or Immigration Adjudication Division (IAD)?. Did you hire an immigration attorney in Canada that assisted in filing a judicial review/appeal on your behalf?. From the wisdom of my experiences, appealing a Canadian study visa refusal is usually very expensive, cumbersome, time consuming and the uncertainty is extremely high as there are no guarantees that the applicant will win the case in a long-term. I can recall intelligently last year on this faithful platform, an applicant hired an experienced immigration attorney in Canada after a study visa refusal because that was the only highest advantage he had for a Canadian study visa refusal to be overturned. He paid a fee of about $CAD3500-$CAD4000 which is equivalent to 1.2M in Naira for a judicial review by the Federal Court of Canada. The whole process lasted for as long as over 7 months. During the course of the case at the federal court, the Chief Justice in Canada decided to hand over the applicant application to a different visa officer to review and give recommendations prior to extending his judgment. Luckily, after a successful review and interview conducted by the second visa officer at Anifowoshe in Victoria Island Lagos, his application merited a study permit and was approved. Majority of the applicants that have passed through this stringent process were successful. Since you've have been invited for an interview at the consulate in Anifowoshe. You have to be bold and effectively demonstrate why your application should not have been denied and why you deserve a second chance, why you choose to undertake your proposed program in Canada not Nigeria and why you must depart from Canada after your authorized stay. The interview may last for about 5-10mins. Consequentially, once you are able to answer the aforementioned questions accurately and convincingly in a persuasive manner you will receive a letter confirming that you won the appeal and your file transferred to the processing visa office for visa issuance/stamping. Please don't forget to keep the house updated, as your experience at the consulate would be very advantageous, educative and helpful to this platform. |

OOAAD: Thank you. Please for Institution with start date and no specific end date , what will be the end date? The program is for 2years. Is it okay to pick same month of start day as end date in 2021 Most offer letter don't come with end date. All you've to do is pick the exact month of the start of the program as the end date in 2021. The duration of your stay in Canada will be determined at the point of entry when the immigration officer officially stamps the study permit on your passport. |
