You know how some private firms can be in Nigeria, they pay you in cash and inh instalments. Will employment letter suffice? Thanks People get visa's without including their salary bank statement. You can include your employment verification letters, work ID, and resume. |

jnyuwa02:
I am surprised McGill even accepted such a person. What a mistake. I have lived in the so called greatest and richest and freest nation in the world, the United States. For 18 years of my life. I do love Nigeria. The food, the culture of hospitality and respect and rich community life, you will never find in the so called advanced nations. The huge reservoir of Human Resources, all the talents here, the rich endowment from God and how all these can be harnessed into the making of a truly great nation, is up to us. I use to be so blind like this guy. It took me living in another man’s land for many years and returning to mine to truly understand the depth and height and width and length of what a truly great nation Nigeria is. I have vowed wherever in the world I go henceforth, I must return to Nigeria and never stay long away from it like I did before. I have been the happiest and freest here because this is home. It’s not a shithole. The bad things in Nigeria that I see, have embued me with moral strength to help change things and develop my country and help make it a better place to live. What drove to the bolded statement? If McGill made a mistake on accepting him, then inform them about it or better still correct it yourself. Since you seem to know very well more than the university and visa officers that granted him visa. The young man has poured out his heart about the wrong deeds in this country and further used a Lebanese man as a clear case study. The word "shithole", I personally don't acquiesce with it and I have cautioned him. But seriously, the above statement looks so impractical of you and doesn't potray you in unequivocal view. Moreover, it's not all comment you see here you must respond to or drag attention. You talk as if you will truly return to Nigeria after studies in Canada, Fine!. I refer you as an "Attorney" because you're born of knowledge and persistence purpose. So, let's go with that narrative. The young man has secured his TRV and nobody can change it. Let him be and let's face what brought us here. |

yemupz: Some online applications (like mine) are processed at the Accra visa office too...
Any information on how you reach the conclusion about Nairobi office and paper application?! Just curious! yemupz, I have been so busy lately. Hence, my late reply. No online application is processed at Accra. I believe you got a biometrics letter from them, which made you think so. Hopefully when you secure your TRV, your visa counterfoil will be issued by London or Lagos or probably when your application exceeds the normal processing times and you send a CSE to Accra. They will redirect you to send a mail to London, as they aren't the one processing your visa. Then, you will understand! The info concerning where paper route applications are handled were gotten in and out side of this window. Throughout last year and at the beginning of this year, majority of the paper applications were all treated by Accra(both online and paper route), which was lately transferred to Nairobi as at February/March this year for paper route. |

Wazony: Pls I need to know for those of us reapplying, giving explanation to counter reasons given for refusal should it be contained in the SOP or is there a separate letter for that cos I am getting confused.Jux saw here there is letter of explanation apart from SOP. You can use the LOE to address the concerns of the visa officer. Whilst, the SOP can be your study intent, your academic background, why CANADA not NIGERIA, future goals and prospects etc.. Myself did the same and I advise applicants to follow suit. But, if you are short of ideas and don't have much to discuss, it's good you make use of one. |

makano: Very Possible. But you will need to explain why u changed school in ur next application tho, cos they already have(the database of ur previous application) details and records of ur previous application. So they will definitely knw changes made. SO they wont see you changing school as being desperate. So u need to explain and convince them why the change of school. Good luck My honourable! What if the applicant decides not to explain this, any qualms? I asked because I have encountered so many applicants that reapplied with a different DLI without any explanations and got their visa approved. Personally, I don't think it's so relevant so far the applicant has tackled the concerns raised by the visa officer e.g purpose of visit, personal asset and financial status, home ties etc... |

How do I book an appointment or I should just go to VAC without any appointment.
Please anyone is current experience at VAC, please help If the online resource is unavailable. I'll advise you go to the VFS Office and complete a manual booking. I also heard from prospective applicants that if you are present at the VFS as early as 7:00am you will be attended to. So, you might as well try this. All the best in your application. |

I'm thinking of submit an application in February. I hope that time is not to early to apply to apply for a September start date. Also when is the earliest possible time one can apply? You're certainly free to apply for your TRV as soon as you've secured an admission into any of the DLI of Canada. February is a good time to apply against fall 2019 and you can also apply towards the end of the year if you have the finances. Good luck! |

I Carlz1: . Thank you bro. I have ordered for my gcms note and working forward on reapplying by October when I’ve received it. How do I tackle the issue of home tie in Canada because I stated I have an aunt in Canada in my second application. Could that be the reason why I get slammed with family ties?. Do I need any letter from her addressing that? Carlz1, Sorry for the late response my boss! Your aunt is not a close relative that can tie you to Canada and you don't need a letter from her addressing this. Ties are regarded as immediate family members mostly father, mother, sisters, brothers, spouse and kids. Your aunt being a resident of Canada could not have been the reason to why you were refused based on home ties. So its either you failed to prove whether you have sufficient family ties to your home country. In order to scale through in your next application, you're expected to explain extensively more on your elderly parents who depend on you for support and must return to continue taking care of them. Your parents properties and establishment which you *(the applicant)* is traditionally heir to and can't abandon them for a foreign education. Talk more about your immediate family members (your siblings) whom you will be leaving behind, the close bond which you have established with them and can't do without seeing them around. Your personal landed properties and registered business in Nigeria (personal assest if any) how you intend to make use of it after studies. Are you an active member in your local community of which you will be returning to continue participation. Aside the aforementioned, What are your career prospects here in Nigeria. How will your international certificate be of cutting edge and paramount benefit to your home country. What impact/change can you make in Nigeria. What are your short-term and long-term after study plans in Nigeria? .....Should be well substantiated in the home ties section in your SOP. All the best! |

jnyuwa02: I looked it up, it seems that the Iinternational Drivers License IDP is what suffices.
“To legally drive a car in Canada, you'll need a driver's licence issued by the government of your province or territory. You must have it with you whenever you're driving. ... If you plan to use a foreign driver's licence in Canada, you should get an International Driving Permit (License) (IDP) in your home country.Jul 24, 2017” The international drivers license of Nigeria is valid for use in Canada that's the information I got from a legal residence of Canada. |

jnyuwa02: Personally never seen such rapid response. But if it’s true and such document or new information was on file at the time a decision was made, it was considered and it would have played a part of the decision making process. One cannot tell if it influenced the VO’s decision making process. Only GCMS can tell. It's better to use the bolded rather than saying "there is no way Nairobi could have gotten the form in 30 minutes and made a decision" making it look as if the moniker was a falsifier. All the same today you got to know they sometimes respond fast. |

jnyuwa02: If you sent your form through the web forum, there is no way Nairobi could have gotten the form in 30 minutes and made a decision. Web forum correspondence is handled by IRCC from Canada and takes an average of 10 days to process and be replied. It just coincidence that at the time you initiated the web forum, that is when Nairobi unleashed its infamy (denial). I personally have assisted an applicant last week to send a CSE through the web form, we got a response within the space of an hour (1 hour). My point is that sometimes they respond faster not minding the average of 10 days that was stated on their site. You're correct, the CSE has got nothing to do with their refusal, it's just a coincidence. |

jnyuwa02: I don’t know if international drivers license is valid for use in Canada. I know in the United States it is not valid. I would imagine Canada is the same. A friend of mine who resides over there in Canada said the national drivers license of Nigeria is valid in Canada and will be allowed to drive if you've one and also would help to apply for that of Canada when expired. |

Biakwa: Good day Frank,
I don't know if it only applies to people that are sending additional documents to CIC that Nairobi is slamming like this or just because one just sent them mail.. Now the question is how can one actually track were his or her application is being processed or one should just conclude that all paperwork goes to Nairobi.. Why am saying is I have sent up-to 3 mails to CIC offices Accra, London, and Lagos, I have not had any comments cojent from them online application just getting autoresponse, what do you advise 14weeks now..... How will one know were his application is stocked..
Since 7th of August eligibility start and went back to processing on the 8th till now..
Please do justice as usual.. Those that were slammed with a refusal after sending a CSE are paper route applicants and I must let you know that it's not because of the additional documents they sent that led to their immediate refusal, either it's probably the Visa officer in charge of their applications has already finalised/concluded with their applications. What I figured out was the CSE they sent only helped to fast track a response to their application decision, but never attributed to their refusal. In regards your question, all paper applications are currently treated at Nairobi. Majority of online applications are processed in London, while of them are hanled at Lagos visa office. Your long-waited (14 weeks) application is most likely to be processed at the London visa office, they are always slow in visa process. Fall terms are generally known as a peak period for every Canadian embassies across the globe, because all schools in Canada have resumption date for this term. So, getting a response during this "Rush" season is usually not an easy task for the visa officers. Hence, continue sending a CSE to them owing to the fact that your application has exceeded the normal processing times for Nigerian applicants. You will surely get a response from them! |

My brother is my only sponsor but i provided evidential document of bequeathed property and stated that my wife would be the one collecting rents from my tenants to fend for herself and our child in Nigeria while am studying in Canada. I have no company and I clearly stated this in my SOP. Thanks for the advise brother. I will apply for GCMS note. She's not the principal applicant (PA) and also not accompanying you to Canada. This is the more reason why I don't think her pregnancy was what led to your refusal in as much as the new born baby is also a strong tie for you in NIgeria and can't affect your application in anyway. Please quickly order for the GCMS NOTE, as I am very much interested in your case. It shall end in praises. |

Clahws: Thanks Frank,
Application for Fall Semester 2019 is open yet on Conestoga website. And would not be open until december this year. Do i suffer a risk if I send a mail to CIC notifying them of DLI change. I haven't seen any applicant that changed his/her DLI while an application is still undergoing visa processing. If anyone has done this in the past or present please signify. Your best bet is to hold on to God and be prayerful that your visa gets approved by next week, with this you can easily effect a DLI change and resume studies in the school of your choice. You can as well be in close contact with your institution and inform them about the situation on ground, if they could be of paramount assistance to issue you a fall 2019 acceptance letter before December when CIC eventually request for it. |

joe10: Good day to the Gurus in the house and distinguished Nairalanders.
My Study permit application was refused for the second time. I was initially refused in London on the ground of purpose of visit. I put up a strong SOP to convince the VO why I would return to Nigeria after my studies. Provided evidence of personal investments, bequeathed building from my late Father, included my admission letter which stated that payment of school fee can only be done after receiving study permit and other strong points which I did not include in my first application, but after notifying IRCC of changes in my status that my wife put to bed and stated that I have made adequate provisions for their up keep I was slapped with a refusal by nairobi in two hours after sending the message. This time nairobi stated four reasons for refusal even though I took my time to prepare a very strong SOP. I do not know whether I did wrong by informing IRCC of changes in status cos I know it is mandatory to reveal such changes to IRCC so as to update your profile. I AM NOT GIVING UP YET. joe10, I am very sorry to hear your application got refused the second time after sending a CSE to Nairobi Visa office. From my point of view, I don't feel that it's because you reported important changes regarding your application that led to your refusal as it was clearly noted on CIC webpage that applicant must notify them if their circumstances changes like births, deaths, marriages, adoptions, address etc.. Therefore, your wife recent pregnancy state shouldn't be a reason to your immediate refusal after a CSE was sent, its more likely that your application have been due for a decision to be made before your CSE came into their desk. Moreover, paper route applications as we all know doesn't take long for an applicant to be refused. I'll advise you order for your CAIPS file so as to get a clearer picture of your visa refusal prior to reapplying for your next visa. A quick one, did you get the response from them today being Saturday or yesterday? It shall end in praises in your next application! |
