@Frankrobnn1

After rigorous search, its only university of sask that is offering 4 years Bsc and 2 years Diploma in Agribusiness. There is no institution in Canada that offer Pgc/d in Agribusiness according to my Investigation.

Your candid advice here

Best regards
muizzzz,

If that be the case go for PGC/D in business administration. Your chances are very low if you should go for a bachelor's degree or a diploma.

Thanks attorney, we are on it. I definitely will come and testify here.

Am just trying to create awareness on the study gap issue, I never knew about it until now and it will be good that all applicant are concious of it.
Since you've such relevant working experience why not go for express entry because you got a good profile that can qualify you for the draw.

Working is a gap from your studies. 10 year gap working means you have been away from school for ten years. By this virtue you have to justify to the VO that you intend really to go to school and that you have what it takes to succeed.
Study Gaps can be issued for students applying for new study permits in Canada. Often, a longer study gap period, can cause issues for a visa officer to consider a student. However, thanks to the laws and regulations of Canada’s education, where an adequate study gap is allowed to International students. For under-graduate applicants, gaps post study periods is allowed up till 2 years. While, for graduates, the study gap extension should be no longer than 5 years. However, exceptions to these rules exist if a student demonstrates an impeccable work expertise in their proposed program in Canada. Under the Canadian laws of studies for International students, a relevant study application should indicate the study gap with a salary slip/ appointment letter as well as a letter from the former employer with a proper job duration and designation.
Having 10 years study gap with relevant work experience in your proposed program is not a problem!

Cc: kpizzle. If you have a profile like this, work on presenting a rational SOP, your application will be approved!

@Frankrobbn1,

Thanks for your candid advice.

The business was duly registered with CAC which I attached certificate of incorporation but not in my name since the business has been registered before joining as a partner.

I will consider a 4 year Bsc in Agribusiness or 2 Year Diploma in Agribusiness.

What is your final take on this 2 Option
muizzzz,

Go for a 2 years PGC/D in Agric Business. Please not ordinary diploma! Once you kick start the admission process, endeavour to share the screen shot here so you won't make further mistakes by applying for an ordinary diploma instead of PGC/D. I said this because it's very common with some applicants here.

All the best!

It might be that it's now that have started processing your application fully, because I can recall last week or so when you said your medical report was updated and an email correspondence from the embassy stating that your application is complete and nothing is left out. They further assured that you will get a response from them anytime soon. I think all this while, your application was dumped under the pidgin hole of the visa officer. Be hopeful, your testimony is close. In regards to the current notification you recieved in your email (It's normal with other applicants applications)

I received a message from CIC this afternoon. It’s rather strange for CIC to be writing saying there have been no updates to an application when I never wrote them and the only few messages I have written them in the past have all been replied to. I am wondering has anyone ever received similar message? I redacted my personal contacts from the email I received attached below.
This is normal and shouldn't be called for much alertness. It could be that you activated the monthly update on your MyCiC account that's why you're getting such an email notifications from them.

Please quote the law from Poland. It’s a different thing to say people should desist from plagiarism (which I agree) and another thing to assert fallaciously that it is a crime when it is not.
I believe that's not what this forum was created for, let's face what brought us here and be contented subjects of our kind.

What state law are you quoting? Perhaps in Nigeria? Even in Nigeria I am not aware of such a state that sends people to jail over plagiarism. It’s is not even a misdemeanor under the law. A student can be suspended and if he repeats the office can be expelled. It’s is a serious case in preserving academic honesty, but not a crime.
I am aroused by your reverie concerning the subject matter. It might not be a law in Nigeria, but certainly in other countries like Poland they don't joke with infringement, no matter how minor. So, I advise applicants to desist from such Act.

Attorney! I protest to the contrary that Plagiarism is a crime. Most cases of plagiarism are considered misdemeanors, punishable by fines of anywhere and up to one year in jail. Plagiarism can also be considered a felony under certain state and federal laws. It can also cause a student to be suspended or expelled. it is a serious ethical offense which can possibly cause a student to barred from entering the University or college.

Hello dinho10,

Check MUN (Memorial University of Newfoundland) you can be lucky to get a Master's degree with your CGPA. I know of few applicants who got theirs with such grade(2.2). No program can guarantee you visa approval. It's very important to apply to programs that are relevant to your current employment/previous studies.

@Frankrobbn1,

I study Accounting(HND) and I work as an Accountant before venture into Agribusiness.

Now I want to go for Businesses Administration and Management in order to equip my self with needed skill and expertise to run a successful business.

I was given admission at University of Regina for 4 years Bachelor Degree in Bus Admin.

My application was refused in July, I have apply for GCMS note to know why my application was refused and see if i can reapply.
Hello muizzzz,

It may interest you to know that you were denied because of academic progression. You are currently holding an HND certification with relevant working experience in the same discipline (Accounting) and now going for a 4 Years Bachelors degree program in another discipline (Agric business). If I may ask, the Agric business you are presently running, is it legally registered here in Nigeria?, did you include registration documents/certificates to show proof that this business is rightfully yours?. Why going for a bachelor's degree in Business and administration instead of BSc in Agric business that's if truly you wanted to equip yourself with the required skills and expertise needed to run an Agric business in Nigeria as you have claimed?.

My advice is that you should forget about anything relating to BSc at this point in time and acquire a PGC/D admission before reapplying for your visa application.

dinho10,

First and foremost, what is your CGPA? If you had a 2.1 in your undergraduate studies, you're absolutely eligible for a Master's degree in Canada. Going for a different course in Canada doesn't add a plus to your visa application, because you already have a bachelor's degree in Nigeria. You stand a chance of getting an approval if you go for a Masters degree, PGC/D to show academic progression.

So how many years of post graduate work permit will a one year masters qualify someone for?
uyplus,

After the successful completion of a (1) year master's degree in Canada, your PGWP will be issued up to the same length as your study program (for example, if you studied for nine months, a work permit will be issued for nine months). But, If the official length of your program of study is less than eight months, you are not eligible for the PGWP program.

Upfront medicals passed
Submitted 16th July VFS Abuja
Final decision: still the way it is on everyone’s own
Yet got a mail yesterday 10th August and today about my passport being dispatched from Abuja to my house(courier) by VFS

Sorry House am just so tensed as I have never seen such case before since almost a year I have been on nairaland.. has anyone seen such case and was approved.. because my mind wan explode even as the passport is on transit. Gurus i have come to notice that paper route that last upto 7 weeks, there is high chances of approval than someone who get response in less than 3 weeks or a month..
Hello kingfintan,

@ the bolded, it doesn't appear that way all the time. I know of 2 applicants who applied through paper route and secured their visa within the space of 4 weeks (a month). From experience, I got to find out that once upfront medicals has been updated as passed for paper route it takes some couple of weeks before approval comes in. All I can say is that you should have a glorious feeling of contentment within you and be optimistic.

All the best!

Hello Guys,

I will leave the long story for the other day, which I will hopefully share with the house when everything has fallen in place.

I applied online on May 15 and I opted for upfront medical in week 12 (August 03) when no progress was being made so as to avoid delay when I get medical call-up. I sent my upfront medical information sheet to Accra through CSE on August 07 then I got medical request on August 08. I sent emails to Accra, Lagos and London since then but nothing has changed on my profile.

Kindly advise me on what to do next?

Thank you and may God bless you all.
teslims,

Right from onset I don't buy the idea of people undergoing medicals when they aren't called for it. This is a clear example of what I have been preaching against. If you didn't undergo an upfront medicals prior the submission of your application it's better to wait for CIC to request for it. There is no hurry in life. At this juncture, you will have to call the hospital or visit them to resend this medical result of yours to CIC. Some times it may boil down that you have to pay an additional fee for re-documentation before your result will be sent.

Congratulations in advance!

....I have no idea on how to write the sop of a tin......and how long does it take for the visa to be approved.
jolowizzy11,

No one on this window can predict when a Visa will be approved! The normal processing times for Nigerian applicants is 10weeks, but sometimes an application may fall outside this stipulated time because of the number of applications received by the Visa Office.

As said earlier your SOP should reflect the following and should be addressed in each paragraphs to avoid repetition.
1-) Describe your academic background briefly.
2-) The program of choice
3-) The school.
4-) Why Canada choose not Nigeria.
5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working.
6-) Your home ties
7-) Your future goals/plans and what you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future and your nation as whole.

You can simply web search on the internet, there are many SOP's out there that can give you a clear insight on what you seek. Avoid plagiarism because it's a crime!

Hello good people....please I have a question, can I apply for undergraduate program in Canada university which is 4 years program after already had one here in Nigeria b4?
dinho10,

Though I am not a visa officer. But, i'll advise you don't push in such application because you will refused based on your purpose of visit. Your study gaps (4 years while at the University), how do you intend to address it to the visa officer? I beseech you save yourself the stress of paying admission application fees, visa fees etc... and go for a degree that is higher than your already completed degree i.e either by opting for a masters or PGD/C as the case maybe.
Deride not what I say because of its simplicity. Truth is always simple.

Can I include my previous details and documents in my application.
Documents like:

Resignation of Appointment
Curriculum Vitae.

Thanks
muizzzz,

@ the bolded.. Why resigning from your current place of work, when you haven't secured your TRV? This will certainly be a big blow up to your application as you're indirectly letting the visa officer know that you're using study permit as means to facilitate entry into Canada rather than career/educational advancement.

Online application forms are not meant to be signed. After successful uploading of required documents in their various sections, you will be promoted to use your name as a signature. Hello: jolowizzy11,

Don't beset by fear of what people say and doom yourself to life of emptiness and secret misery. Once you can account for your study gaps. I see no reason why a visa officer will not issue you a study visa. If your proposed program in Canada is reasonable inlight with computer software engineering your chances of getting an approval is high. Play your role by drafting a rational letter of explanation pointing out your study intent, your academic background, why you wish to further your undergraduate studies in Canada and not Nigeria considering the high cost and difficulty of undertaking a foreign education, how you intend to finance your studies while in Canada, your home ties back home(that can compel your return after studies), the benefits and lucrativeness of undertaking such a program in Canada after graduation, the range career options/prosepcts back home.

At the end, pray and hope you will be favoured by the fickle-fate.

Oh! My bad! The last time I spoke with an immigration attorney in Canada at the beginning of this year. I requested for a range of fees regarding some visa packages ranging from express entry, study permit etc... I didn't capture and recollect some of what we discussed. So, inorder to ascertain your claims in your previous post about the judicial review process fee, I had to call back to confirm.

You are still repeating the same thing, this time around emphatically. Let me ask you,do you judge by only the number of applications here on nairaland?CIC reserves the right to process your application anywhere
Yes! CIC for sure has everything to transfer an application to any part of the world for it to be processed. I am not disputing this certitude. But, this is off from what we are saying, you're saying that we should refrain from our assumptions that some applications are treated at Abu Dhabi and Ankara and I am telling you what I have seen with several applications in here and outside this thread. Let me use a case of an applicant here who submitted her application recently without paying for her biometrics fee. The applicant emailed the Lagos immigration office and they redirected the applicant to send a CSE to London visa office simply because that's where most online applications are being processed. The applicant did as instructed and lo and behold, the response came in and the portal was lately opened for the applicant to complete her biometrics payment. Where am I driving at? If truly your claims that some online applications are processed outside the stated visa offices why is it that the response didn't come from them and why did the Lagos visa office redirect the applicant to London? that's if the Abu Dhabi and Ankara visa offices were in charge of online applications.

While majority of online applications from Nigeria are processed at the bolded, the list is not exhaustive as pockets of online applications are also processed elsewhere like Abu Dhabi and Ankara. I'm saying this because a lot of people access this forum and take the information absolutely.
MeinKampf,

So far, How many online applications have you seen that was processed at Abu Dhabi and Ankara? Nobody is playing a guess work here. The simple fact remains that most online applications I have seen are currently processed in London, minority goes for Lagos. It was at the beginning of this year when some applications were treated at Turkey and Dubai not anymore.
