Does it come along with the passport for paper route? And how important is the correspondence letter?
For paper route, the correspondence letter comes along with your passport in a sealed envelope. A correspondence letter is a letter which you're ought to show to the immigration officials at the POE when you arrive in Canada to get your study permit and SIN (work permit). A copy of a typical correspondence letter is attached herewith.

I sent an urgent request for it to the London email immediately I picked up my passport yesterday, I received an automated response, and nothing else yet. I sent the same urgent request to the Lagos email this morning too, no reply yet. Can I still go ahead and use the CSE web form or will this be an overkill?
Are you requesting for your correspondence letter too? Yes you're absolutely free to send them a CSE through the web form.

This information is wrong. Go back and read the cic info on medical examination for applicants who have not stayed up to 6 months in Nigeria from Europe, the USA and their likes.
Ma Nogen,

With all due respect Ma, before I lay a comment on this reputable thread, I must have underwent series of research and gotten a solid information about a particular case. It may interest you to know that I have also enjoyed experiences similar to that of the applicant. A clear example is an applicant who is a very close friend of mine. He returned from US to apply for a Canada study permit and haven't stayed up to 6 months in Nigeria. He thought that he won't be called for medicals, since he once lived in the US. Surprisingly, before his application was approved, he was sent a medical request. To be honest with you, the law was only emphasizing on applicants in England and not those who are applying from Nigeria.

I hope the applicant MrsDaniel will be here to share her story on the success of her application.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1:
MrsDaniels:
@Carlz1 so sorry dear you didnt get no medical call? We submitted same day paper route. Got a message my processed passport has been returned back to the VAC and i wasnt called too guess its cos i submitted my application 2days after my arrival from England into Nigeria. Cos i saw on CIC website where they stated if one didnt stay/live in Nigeria for 6months and above then they dont require medicals. Just submitted police certificate issued in England alongside my residence documents.
Abi Frank? @Frankroben1 am i quoting CIC's medical facts wrongly from their website? .... would be going to pick up my passport today and let y'all know.
Madam MrsDaniels,

As long as you're back to Nigeria and not applying directly from England. You're meant to undergo a medical test in Nigeria prior to a visa is issued to you by the consular officer. The rule of not requesting for a medical exam is only applicable to prospective applicants applying from England not Nigeria.

I hope this piece of info helps to provide perspicuity to other applicants that are in same condition.

I have a Korean temporary residence I plan to apply from there
Do you have a valid work permit, ongoing study visa or permanent residence at Korean. These are the list of visas that makes you eligble to apply for a study permit to Canada from there. Other than that, you're expected to return to your home country and apply for your visa.

my passport was stamped in London my processing time is not over yet and I thought I should still wait a little I don't know if it will be right to write them now .
You don't have to wait for your processing time to elapse before sending them a CSE. Your situation is quite different, because you were approved of your visa without a correspondence letter. Please go ahead and send them a CSE and within 24hrs, you will have the letter sent to your account without hassles.

Hello Everyone...

i am so thankful i found this page and i will like to crave the indulgence of anyone with valuable info to my post to kindly and generously share.

i graduated with a second class lower degree under the department of biochemistry, went ahead to obtain a masters degree from the UK in Environmental Management, got married, had a son and relocated back to Nigeria with my family.

i have got a few years experience working as a school administrator from a top British school and want to pursue another masters degree to this regard(different from my first masters) . i have found a school and a suitable course(University of Saskatchewan)

my main sponsor will be my dad; currently retired from a reputable company with account balance over 50 million and various landed properties. joint fixed deposit account of hubby and myself of over 2 million as personal account. I intend to travel with my two kids (age 6 and age 2) but hubby will be staying back to manage our businesses.

please i need advise on the best approach. thanks in advance for your kind responses
DeChefAbuja,

Firstly, i will start by welcoming you into this honourable thread and I hope you will find your journey to Canada easy with the vital informations been shared here.

All things being equal, you must present justifiable reasons to why you're going for a second masters degree in Canada rather than a phd to show a career progression especially in a discipline that is no way reasonable with your previous studies or current employment. The lucrativeness and reasonableness of undertaking such a program at a high expense when there are similar available program offered here in Nigeria. Your career prospects and plans if it is financially rewarding here after studies that would counterbalance the cost and investment made in your program in Canada will be well substantiated in your SOP. In order for your application to scale through the sight of the visa officer, it's safe you apply for a program that has a strong connection with your current job role. With this your reason for opting out for a second masters degree would be logical.

Furthermore, your dad financial establishment is very strong to cater for your bills and that of your kids as well. But, you will have to take steps by ensuring safe care and provision for your kids like : enrolling the 2 years old baby into any of the nearby creche around your university, and placing the one of 6 years old in a primary school(education in public schools in Canada are known to be free for children within the age bracket of 5-18 years). Reason's being that they will be well taken care of and won't be of any distraction to your studies in Canada. Your husband can stay back and serve as a strong tie to your application.

That's wat I was told... they told me I can't be accepted for a masters cos I had 2.2. so I have to opt in for a certificate degree course...
You can be eligble for a masters program in Canada, if your last 2 years CGPA at the University is excellent and you have a relevant working experience in your proposed field of study. Check: Memorial University of Newfoundland. Aside this, apply for a PGD/C.

Hi Nairalanders,

I got admission to two Canadian colleges (Conestoga and Humber) for similar courses(same syllabus sef). I applied for my first canadian study permit in March using Conestoga, got my rejection letter in May. Applied again in june (still using conestoga) and I am still awaiting approval (IJN) from VO till now. My course starts on the 1st of September (too late). I asked for a semester deferment till Winter(January) for both colleges, Got deferment from Humber, but Conestoga did not process deferment on time and no more available course till Fall semester 2019.
How can I notify the visa officer that I want to change my college from Conestoga to Humber.
Will this affect my application.
Clahws,

Reapply to Conestoga for the fall term 2019 and keep your offer letter stand by, owing to the fact that CIC will surely request for an updated acceptance letter from you when your application is near success to be approved. You can't change a DLI while your application is still undergoing processing, you can only be able to effect a change on your DLI when you've successfully acquired your TRV through your MyCiC account.

Hello guys..plss I need clarification plsssss..

I graduated in 2016.. went for nysc 2017 and finished nysc 2018.. I had a 2.2 Cgpa 3.25.. studied finance.. and want to do MBA or masters in a related management Field..

so I want to ask.. most Canada schools require 2.1 for masters program...so am planning to put in for a certificate degree course instead... how good is a certificate degree coursehuh?

... hope it won't hinder my Visa success. And are there any better alternativeshuh

Plsss I need answers ooo..and also..who knows about EWC Nigeria well...am using Dem.. paid some Cash to them already to start with the process..
God bless you as u answer me plsss..
Segunagagu,

What do you mean by certificate degree course?... You mean BSc degree?
Chances are high if you go for a program that is higher than your already completed degree i.e a PGD/C that is directly related to your previous discipline in Nigeria.

It is clearly stated that ....tuition fee is not required at the time of visa application.....doing so is at your own risks.............. is clearly stated in study questionable form.........
If an applicant is using a third party sponsorship, it's very important to pay upfront tuition, at least for a semester so as to quench the doubt of the visa officer that funds will be available and accessible by the applicant.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1:
bbclue:
Frankrobben

Your input is needed about paying of tuition fee or not paying.......because me is like the people I saw last week didn't pay tuition fee but only the money requested by the school as part payment are issued visa
From the wisdom of my experience, payment of upfront tuition fees have never been a problem to an applicant visa application and also has never triggered the visa officer suspicion that an applicant is not a bona-fide student. I have seen many applicants in and out side of this window that were refused of their first application due to financial insufficiency because the consular officer doubt that they will have funds for their first year tuition and upkeep, and in their second attempt I advised them to pay their full tuition and were approved! Exactly what Jnyuwa02 said, which is absolutely correct!

As we all know that payment of tuition is not a prerequisite to Visa approval, but from findings, we noticed that it specifically helps most applicants who got their visa rejected due to financial insufficiency because it aid to show that funds are readily available and accessible to them and further prove to the visa officer that their primary intention of travelling to Canada is strictly for studies and not the other way round. Therefore, in this case, proof of payment of tuition is very essential!!

That being said, if an applicant institution doesn't require a tuition deposit prior the start of classes, there is no essence paying tuition because the Immigration Canada stated clearly that proof of payment of tuition is not required at the time of visa application. In such situation, if the applicant decides to complete an upfront tuition payment without being instructed by the school, he/she does that on their own risk.

I hope the information is sufficient to provide clarity!

Good evening guys.
I am totally new to nairaland, but I hope to get solutions here... I applied for a study visa, but I was denied.
The reasons they gave me were racist in nature, but then I hope to reapply for the same purpose.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of
residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

Those were the reasons. I am not sure I totally understand the 2nd and 3rd reasons. I need explanation from anyone with idea of what they actually mean. Again, since I am thinking of reapplying, I need advice. Thanks.
josmba59,

Sorry for the outcome of your application! You can check the reason for
YOUR REFUSAL GROUNDS HERE and can as well ORDER YOUR YOUR GCMS NOTE to know the factual reasons behind your refusal.

I just requested for my Gcms now and this were the reason they denied my visa. Pls can you guys help me out. Cos I’m not understanding
In respect to the gcms note you shared, I have the following to say :

The Visa officer outrightly indicated that the you submitted insufficient evidence or lack of travel history. You have failed to convince the visa officer the reasonableness and lucrativeness of undertaking such a program in Canada at a high expense when there are similar available program offered here in Nigeria at a cheaper rate. The Visa officer is looking after the range of career options and prospects available for you on your return to Nigeria, if it is financially rewarding that would offset the cost of your studies in Canada. You have also not satisfied the visa officer that the possibility of funding for future years will exist from your guarantor/applicant.

In your next application, work on presenting a detailed SOP that will explain the above aforementioned. Add sufficient documents to evidence your sponsor source of income (if gainfully employed include: employment letters, payslips, promotion letters, introductory letter from employer etc....) (If self employed, include CAC certificate, article of association and memorandum, tax clearance certificate, sales and purchase invoices etc....). Furthermore, the amount of sponsorship funds per each academic year should be stated, how sponsor intends to cater for his/her dependents while suiting for your bills in Canada, and a written assurance from sponsor in his/her letter of sponsorship and sworn affidavit of support that funds will be made available during your upcoming year of study.

There are no special requirement before you can acquire an affidavit. Simply walk into any federal high court close to you and request for an affidavit of support and it will be issued to you without hassles. It can cost you 500-1k in naira.

Goodmorning Good people of Nairaland , am yet to be called for Biometric after applying on the 9th of August, i was charged $150 after i submitted my application, please i want to know if this is what everybody that submitted recently is charged cos it was more than this amount before. Please help a worried sister.
aleobua:
August 3rd applicant here. I had the same charge of $150. It seems they don’t need ours(biometrics) for now. When it is needed, I guess we will need to make another payment of $80
I don't think your assertions concerning the subject matter is right. I know of an applicant who faced same problem. It was her first application and she was only promoted to pay for the visa application fee of 150CAD but weren't able to pay for her biometrics fee of 85CAD. Though, what she did was to send a CSE to the London and Lagos visa office using the attached email address. Thereby, quoting her name and her application number as the mail subject, explaining to them the issue on ground.
lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca
LDNIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca

Later on, an email correspondence came in indicating that there was an update in her MyCiC account. When she logged in, she saw the biometrics letter and an attached link in it. She clicked on the link and was taken to a fresh page where she inputed her debit card details and was finally able to complete her biometrics payment of 85CAD.

I'll advice you do same too. Because, right now your application is pending until the receipt of your finger prints by the Visa Office.
