jnyuwa02: To contest a VO’s finding, you have to sue them to court in Canada. If you are not an immigration attorney yourself, you have to hire one who will represent you through the judicial review process which is a two stage process and can be very expensive. One person on this forum went that route of contesting the VO’s decision and was successful. Took him 8 months and cost him almost $3500. But he was successful and issued a visa after less than 10 minutes interview at the Canadian High Commission in Lagos. If you don’t have that kind of money and time on your hands, your best bet is to refuel and file another application and tackle grounds of denial using a powerful SOP to explain better your circumstances. No immigration attorney in Canada will charge you $3,500 for a judicial case review, not even the well-known Attorney David Cohen. Most immigration attorneys in Canada cost CAD$1,500-$CAD1700 The rest of the information provided by Attorney General jnyuwa02 are absolutely correct. Cc: hurricanesgrace |

Hello, After successful completion of payment. Did you receive any correspondence email that came with an attachment (consent form)? If yes, you're on the right track. Fill the consent form using the updated acrobat adobe reader. Thereafter you print out the form, sign with a blue ink pen, scan and resend it back to them. All the best |

Kishkosh: Mr Frankrobbn1, mcobex and jnyuwa02 pls, going by the trend of applications you've come across. After 'UPFRONT' medicals has been updated, how long does it take for them to determine one's eligibility? My eligibility started yesterday and I'm kinda curious and anxious Hello Kishkosh, If this were to be an online application, it doesn't take much for a decision to be made on an applicant application, this happens within 2hrs-72hrs. On the contrary if paper application, when an upfront medical has been updated as passed, it takes some couple of weeks for a decision to be made. So be hopeful! |

mightyola: Time is a factor here. School resumes on the 3rd. But on a second note, maybe I should just wait. You didn't undergo an upfront medicals prior the submission of your application. So why go for it now? I don't advise anyone to do that, because it's not the right step to take. Allow CIC to send you a medical request, with this you will be self-assured that your application has gone pass half way and close to an approval. All the best! |

Is it necessary to send my International bursary offer to be added to my application even though it is just CAD$1,100? I submitted application approximately 3-weeks ago.
Thank you Yes, it's very necessary to do so, considering that it has connection with finances. Use the IRCC WEB FORM to send it across to the Lagos, London and Kenya visa offices. |

I didnt do upfront medicals, but I have an appointment tomorrow with Children practice, I plan on submitting my medial report via WEBFORM. It will end in praise mightyola, Why go for medicals when you're not sure about the progress of your application? Why not allow CIC to request for this medicals so you could know the fate of your application? I hope it favours you. All the best! |

Lotusboi: Good Evening house. I applied for study permit 4th April, got delayed 29th May. I decided to reapply cos of the generic reasons stated as insufficient funds. I reapplied 13th of June, but just out of curiosity, I decided to order my gcms to see why I was rejected. Please find them attached. The recent lump sum the VO is referring to is matured TB that entered the account, also it was reinvested immediately so it left the account again. My dad is my sponsor. He does contracts and he is a retired Finance Manager from a construction company. (Retired 3 years ago) In his avidavit of support he stated he gets money from contracts, haulage (truck particulars and insurance were submitted also) housing rents, share dividends, he also submitted his CAC documents, tax clearance certificate, TIN and C of O of his houses and their approved drawing plans. But from the VO’s perspective he has little idea what my dad does. Please Jnyuwa02, Mcobex, Frankbonn, all the attorneys and gurus, please help me analyze this note and suggest a better route to follow in case my current application doesn’t run through. Thank you . Hi Lotusboi, Since you've submitted your application, you should be optimistic and be hopeful that everything turns out well. The attached link will be of paramount help to your query. If an application has exceeded the normal processing times, an applicant is certainly free to send countless mails to CIC. |

mightyola: Really?... hmm. Puzzled!!! Getting an admission in Canada for PhD is usually very difficult and the number of spaces available are quite limited and at same time very competitive. An applicant must pass through rigorous processes prior securing an admission for PhD, which at the end of the day comes with full funding from the University. All these processes the visa officers have in mind, so granting them visa doesn't take much time. But, that does not mean they don't undergo due database check. The difference here is the visa officers doesn't scrutinize PhD applications like the way it is done in other applications. |

Applications differ in all aspects. Continuous comparison will lead you into HBP and you will not like the outcome. You smashed it. CC: Mightyola |

jnyuwa02: There is more that goes into the assessment of application than simply paying full tuition and transferring money into one’s dorm account. Some people do that only as a gimmicks to decieve. They ask someone to pay for them and later ask for refund and abscond. Nigerians are very inventive and the officers know that. It’s the burden of the visa office to differentiate a good faith application and from one that is not. That is why you see people getting denied for insufficient funds even after they have paid full school fees. It’s the burden we all face to convince a visa officer whether in Kenya or London that we are going to be genuine students and will actually study and depart if the privilege is extended to us. I find London more reasonable on people and the statistics of approvals coming out of there than Kenya, bears out my reasoning. I declare you officially by the virtues invested on me, a Kenyan man Explicitly Stated! Payment of tuition fees is not really a prerequisite to Visa approval. In as much as the Visa officer will have to differentiate between the sheep and the goats LOL! who truly is a bona-fide student that will study and leave at the end of the authorized stay. That being said, I hope you never meant to give me such a name @ bolded? Because I'll go as far as referring you as "Attorney General of plateau Mountain" |

rolorolo: For me they do shabby job. They are lazy set of people. That is all I can say for now. Like you pointed, it is more of grace. How can a Visa officer be stating in your GCMS notes some information that does not reflect the application you submitted? Its sad. There is a preconceived notion about Nigerians. Some times they really don't go through an application entirety. Even the GCMS notes I have been receiving recently turned out to be generic and constant repetition with other applicants notes. |

jnyuwa02: I was away for two months so not sure if they stopped processing online from Turkey or Dubai. I personally won’t be bothered for time. And who says you cannot restrategize if denied from London? I would rather go to a route that has established itself more fair. For example, a woman I helped from this forum who filed paperoute was denied by the Kenya people. She immediately refired online with same documents, but more polished SOP. London acted and delivered. She is on her way for her studies August 15. On the average London delivers than Kenya people. I would rather trust my life with the London people. Just me, different strokes for different folks I guess . Attorney I dig your point without stress. I also know of an applicant who went through online route, the applicant paid full tuition and transferred funds into dorm account and the sponsor was excessively and financially buoyant to cater for the applicant expenses throughout the stay in Canada and what happens at then end after waiting for 13 solid weeks?, the applicant was slapped with: 1-) Insufficient Funds 2-) Purpose of Visit 3-) Home ties IN country of residence 4-) Personal Assets and financial status. Meanwhile the applicant included personal landed properties, payslips and there was a strong correlation between the proposed program, current job role and previous studies. This is the same online route you praised! You have said it all different strokes for different folks. I think this is more of Grace!. As for me, Kenya visa officers are very fast and dedicated to their work and I must commend them for the job well done . As far as I am concerned people are still getting approved in paper route. Shalom! |

drhammed: Sir, contrary to the bolded part above, some online application (study permit) are now being processed at the Lagos VISA office... This is an irony of the whole matter. Sure! I know of an applicant who sent CSE to London office in respect to his online application but to his greatest surprise it was Lagos immigration office that replied his query. But, that doesn't implies that it's lagos that is processing the applicant application. The Lagos visa office is more like a middle man here that replies to prospective applicants queries. I'm anxiously waiting to see which of the two visa offices that will issue the Visa counterfoil at last. |

Carlz1: Hello Please I have a question. I applied via paper route on July 28th. I’m trying to link my application online but it’s saying no records found. I’ve used the account to link a previous application before, could that be the cause? Do I have to create a new account and link it? Or is it that the application hasn’t gotten to cic yet? Carlz1, You don't have to create a new account, you can make use of your previous account as long as you can remember your username, password and security questions. Your application has been received by CIC long ago, you can track it online. There is certain stage where you are asked to select either Passport or birth information, choose birth information. Also, make sure u select "Study Permit" and not "Temporary Resident Visa". Again, be sure filled your enrollment date and end date of your program as exact as it is on your IMM1294E form. All the best! |

jnyuwa02: Correct!! Some online applications I have also seen treated in Turkey. I would rather my application go to London than Kenya. Kenya people have established themselves now as draconian. So many denials coming out of Kenya in comparison to London. Previously some online applications were treated in Turkey and Dubai. But, currently all online applications are treated at the London visa office. In the aspect of comparison between Kenya and London. I would better go for a route that is fast in giving out reponse, so that if eventually my application gets refused, I can quickly pick up my file, re-strategies and reapply rather than going for a route that will take the whole time on earth (9weeks-15weeks) to process my visa and at the end it turns out unsuccessful which could be very traumatizing and frustrating. As always said by me, no route is best!! |
